Anyone ttc baby #2?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, ttc baby #2 (1st cycle) and already driving myself wild with the tww. I wondered if anyone else is in the same boat?

I was so relaxed about baby #1 that the constant nagging thoughts about am I / aren't I are completely new to me and are making me feel anxious with symptom spotting.

Thought I'd see if there is anyone to talk to on here as my husband is quite matter of fact about there being nothing we can do to find out except for being patient - I know, he's infuriating right.

It'd be great to buddy up if anyone else is in a similar position.

Congrats becks!

This thread is on fire, BFP-wise!

Gx91 · 16/10/2015 09:33

Thanks becks sounds like there is a lot of logic in that ! I thought it was an old wives tale! Thanks il get doing my homework on that then lol will keep me busy ! May be b popping off to the shops to get bicarbonate of soda lol xx

beckslovestimmy · 16/10/2015 09:08

Thankyou ladies!!

With regards to gender and timing I believe boy sperm swim fast but die quick and girl sperm swim slow but live longer??

It's also said that an acidic environment favours girls and an alkaline favours boys. I think there is some truth in this as I was told I had acidic cervical mucous that was killing all my husbands sperm (this was during fertility investigations- results of a post coital test) I was advised to try a dilute solution of bicarbonate of soda (alkaline) squirted up just before DTD. The month we did that I got my BFP and went on to have DD without having to have fertility treatment. If you want a girl I think they recommend dilute lemon juice or vinegar!!!

I think you can also eat an acid or alkaline diet (I think I read this in a fertility book)

Maybe worth a bit of investigation!!? Confused

Gx91 · 16/10/2015 08:58

What's the rules for gender sway ? I have a DD (age 2 ) and would love a boy , but not really that fussed if I have another girl Smile would be nice to have one of each tho ! Xx

Hopingfortwo · 16/10/2015 08:53

Anyone ttc baby #2?
Hopingfortwo · 16/10/2015 08:22

Becks good luck!!

Here's to a relaxing October of baby making girls. Although I do agree with you gx91 it's good to try and pinpoint the right days....

Loki I think I'm in denial about my controlling ways. Not sure if I posted on this thread about timing sex to try and sway gender Blush

CD4, things are clearing up!! Getting excited..,,

Loki17 · 16/10/2015 06:53

This forum is such a wonderful place too. I can unleash my crazy on here Grin

Loki17 · 16/10/2015 06:52

I'm a control freak too. But this could be a long wait so I'm doing my best to stay calm. Actually, I'm doing much better this month. CD7. It's time to start trying and I'm going to stay relaxed. Thankfully, I have a weeks holiday coming up now so plenty of opportunities for bding!

Gx91 · 15/10/2015 22:41

Good luck for tomorrow becks ! Fingers and toes crossed for you ! Wink xx

Gx91 · 15/10/2015 22:40

It's only my second month of trying and was obsessed last month although didn't use ovulation sticks ! Going to have fun this month but also use the sticks to pin point the "when to get really busy days" lol
Hopefully doesn't feel as long a month this time round !
I'm a total control freak and like to plan ahead so this baby making business really is hard lol X
Hang in their Loki ! Hopefully time passes quickly for u and u will soon b testing for ur BFP Grin X
Good luck to everyone for this month !! Love to see another one getting their BFP and starting their baby journey Xxg

beckslovestimmy · 15/10/2015 22:19

Well no AF today. I think I will test in the morning. Scared now because I don't want to see a negative!! Confused

Loki17 · 15/10/2015 21:33

AF is almost over. My head is starting to scream 'I want a baby!' again! Glad I threw away all of my remaining opks because I can feel myself falling into an obsessive pattern! I will stay calm! Grin

TattieHowkerz · 15/10/2015 21:23

hoping DD was 4 in the summer, we are in Scotland so she will start school next August, when she is 5.

Hopingfortwo · 15/10/2015 09:39

Awww thanks girls!!

Gx91 would be great to spur each other on. I plan on whipping the cheapies out on CD10 but I am determined not to stress and overthink during the tww. That will drive me bonkers!! Plus I'll be turning 30 so hopefully will get distracted enough!! How long have you been trying? I have read the thread but can't remember names (and on a tiny phone!)

Tattie, how old will your LO be in September? My dd will be turning 4 in September but have just realised she'll be too young. I was hoping to also be on MAT leave when she started school. Just for logistics, I could dedicate some time to the new babe but life can't be planned to that much detail I guess...

TattieHowkerz · 14/10/2015 22:17

Good luck everyone who is waiting to POAS! Still have a good while to go so putting it to the back of my mind. Though a July/August baby would be great so. Could me on mat leave when DD starts school!

Loki17 · 14/10/2015 21:30

I'm on CD5. Waiting for AF to finish - feels like it's dragged on forever!

Gx91 · 14/10/2015 21:18

Hey to all newcomers good luck for this month ! Smile
Hopingfortwo-I'm also hoping for a July baby ! Also in cycle day 2 Smile so we can pull each other through ! This site has been a godsend so far ! Xxg

jp0303 · 14/10/2015 20:52

Hello newbies, lovely to see you all joining us Smile I'm a believer in our positive vibes for each other translating into positive tests! Good luck to each of you for this month.

Hoping AF leaves you alone tomorrow Becks and that you get good news on Friday!

Hi All,

I was looking online about ttc #2 and stumbled across this thread. I read from start to finish and thought how lovely and supportive you all seemed. Soooo I'd like to join in with the positivity!!!

Congrats to all those that got their BFP, hopefully your baby dust will rub off on us all still waiting.

A bit about me. I'm 29, hubby is 35 and our cherub just turned 3. She was planned but came a few years early Wink

I monitored my cycle last month and found the OPK reliable with my symptoms of ovulation (side twinges) I bought cheapies for the fun of POAS and saved the CB for when I suspected I'd ovulated, I got the Grin after the positive cheapie OPK

So now I am on a mission!! CD2 and on the evening primrose to help the wee swimmers. I'm hoping to catch quick and aiming for a July 2016 babe.

That's the plan, we'll see what actually happens!!!

Vikkijayne2507 · 14/10/2015 16:40

Hey ttc number 2 here currently just into fertile window and doing every other day dtd cycle 4 technically but month 2 of proper cycles and afs.

beckslovestimmy · 14/10/2015 16:19

Well AF due tomorrow, it's taking all my power not to POAS today! Going to try and hold of until Friday as I'm working a 12hr shift tomorrow so that should take my mind off it. My boobs are still a bit tender and that's not a usual symptom before AF and I've had a skin break out after not having a spot for months. Fingers and toes crossed now!!

FuzzyOwl · 14/10/2015 07:12

No surgery Dizzy. The pill helped a lot so it was only when I came off it to ttc that I went to the doctor and by the time it came around to surgery, I was pregnant.
