Hi all, so I hope you don't mind but I actually have an update to share. Last time I posted was at the end of August and I was waiting to have AF after coming off the pill on the 23rd July. Well it seems my cycle went straight back to normal which was completely unexpected and even though I took several OPK's and pregnancy tests throughout August which all came up negative, I found out that I was pregnant on the 20th September having had no symptoms of anything not even any visible change in CM. So I'm now 14 weeks pregnant and wishing you all the best! It's a frustrating journey no matter how long it takes but it will be so worth while.

Sorry for all those having long cycles really is a pain ! Altho if u know when u ovulated it's handy as u can count down the days til AF or when to test wishing u all luck and positivity !!! X

Good lines cookie keep testing over the next few days and they will get darker until u get ur peak test , good luck xx

Oh Sophie it's so annoying isn't it! Average is 14 days from OV to period, can be slightly shorter or longer in some people. Should be roughly the same each month so I think if your cycles vary in length it's the time from period to OV that changes.. Rather than from OV to period. If that makes sense. So yes roughly day 52 is when to expect period.

I'm pretty sure iv OVd today, day 33, so will expect my period day 47. Mine was 98 last cycle. Expect it will be all over the place. I read lots about Angus cactus making cycles shorter, brings on OV earlier. you could try that. Although word of warning, I started it and got thrush twice in a month! Might be a coincidence but it's settled since I stopped. I would see GP... And if they are going to do bloods you are probably better not taking anything so they get a true picture of what is going on. Xxx

Day 48 of this cycle and no sign of AF. Mind you, if ovulation test showed peak on day 38, then doesn't your period arrive two weeks later, so this would be a 52 day cycle?!?!?! They keep getting longer. 42 days... 45 days... 47 days... and now this one!!! Perhaps I need to speak to a doc.

I've now diverted my worry from iv never had a positive OPK to "iv never had an opk with no line"... Raised LH throughout cycle can mean PCOS (which if you've read back crazy old me has self diagnosed!! Lol). I know I need to chill out and just assume I'm ovulating like a normal person! Bit weird that my temp has gone up last 2 days... Which suggests iv OVd 2 days ago... Yet my OPKs getting darker suggesting I'm about to OV. Oh well. Will have to wait and see. God I sound bonkers... I'm not in RL! Just that all the ramblings of my brain end up on this page cos we haven't told anyone in RL.

It would be amazing if I did get pregnant sooner. It's not like I'm actually tricking him... We mutually agreed to stop contraception about 7 weeks ago... And he knows that unprotected sex can lead to a baby! :) It's just that initially we agreed not to wait any longer cos last time it took me 10 months to have a period, I assumed it would take ages (which it still might). I did ask him 7 weeks ago what would happen if I unexpectedly got pregnant quickly and he said he would be happy with that. He's not the excited type, he doesn't get excited before holidays, or before we bought our house, got married etc (I'm making him sound like a grump but he's not.. Just sensible. But the kindest loveliest man you could meet). He says he will be the same about babies. I guess I just feel like I know what's going on with my body, don't wanna feel like I'm jumping him just for the goods. Does anyone else feel like that?

Cookie, that 2nd line looks good. It's not positive until it's as dark or darker than the control line. I have had a faint line on every opk for the last 22 days. But some people have completely blank ones that get darker in run up to OV so fingers crossed yours is not far away!! Xx

Wow sunny- those OPKs look fab! How would you feel if you got pregnant slightly earlier than expected? Did you speak to DH? Well I'm on CD14 and just used an opk for the first time since TTC! Would welcome any thoughts/opinions? Am I imagining a second line (I seem a bit giddy at there even being a slight line as I'm so worried Im not ovulating!) I know it def isn't a positive opk but perhaps getting there? xx

Is strange the other OPKs aren't reading the sm tho but good news sounds like u are ovulating tho so there's price of mind for next time X

Thanks for replying GX. Was feeling a bit bonkers, just weird that the pink one wasn't positive too. Not sure what that means for the other 22 days if tested with them! Haha.

I did a pregnancy test about 5 days ago just in case and it was neg. can't imagine it will be that as pretty sure not OVd this cycle yet. But if I carry on getting pos opks and the line doesn't fade il double check.

Just done another opk and 2nd line isn't quite as dark. I'd probably say it's "just" positive but only just. But had only held that wee for 2.5 hours where as the 1st one was about 6 hours! Il test again tomorrow.

I feel a bit weird now knowing that I might be OVing. Because we have agreed "not to prevent" rather than try, I feel like I'd be tricking DH. We haven't really talked about it recently. And I was only doing OPKs because I was convinced I wasn't OVing and wanted proof to take to Dr... Not really so I could use it to try. Hmmm. Might have to have a convo with DH tonight. Wish me luck. X

Btw if heard an OPK is positive too if ur pregnant ? Duno if it's true but might b worth buying in some pregnancy tests too xxx

Hey sunny ! I use the green ones and they were correct as I got pregnant judging ovulation with them ! Means u might pop and egg out in the next 36 hours so get busy lady !! Congrats haha and good luck !!!
Ur cm sound fertile enough at the moment as long as u can stretch it between fingers without it breaking xx

Ok ladies... I need your help! Iv got the crazies on. Got down to my last opk today (cos I'm now on cycle day 32 and not OVd yet, been testing daily since cycle day 10!). Also happened to have my new stash arrive today... Also called one step but when they arrived slightly different brand. Decided to do the new one and got two equal lines! Yay, thought this was probably a positive. But as it's the 1st of this brand iv done I thought I'd check with my last opk from the old stash... And it's negative! Line slightly darker, but not much darker, than the 2nd pink line iv had on every test for the last 22 days!!

So my question is, what is going on? Positive or neg. how reliable are the green top OPKs compared to the pink top??

in the picture you can see the new opk which I think might be positive. Directly below it is the other old opk done on exactly the same urine sample. And then for comparisons sake a few old OPKs from days ago with equally dark lines.

I have had a weird mix of creamy, sticky and egg white CM mixed together today. Wouldnt call it egg white exactly but is stretchy. But I have had this before. Have had some pelvic pain, but I get this almost every day (convinced iv got pcos, mostly cos I'm a hypochondriac!).

Il test again with new sticks again tonight and for next few days. I guess if they get lighter and or disappear this is my peak.

GX NOO lol. Am 99% sure it's not that! Although i did think raw chicken smelt like boiled egg the other day but I always think food smells funny. Put money on me having a period in the next week. My OH is in no way ready yet so would massively freak and we aren't actually trying yet but i was hoping in the next few months we could have the chat again

GX: iv been doing opk for 3 weeks now (on the off chance that I was going to have a 38 day cycle... They all have faint lines on them, of slightly varying shades. But iv read online that you can produce LH all the way through cycle. I did have one slightly darker but them went back to normal so I think it was just the way it dried. :( they only cost about 10p each so I think il just keep doing them! Don't wanna stop in case I pop a random egg! X

I have no idea!! Didn't know I'd ovulated and haven't had a real period as I'd only just stopped the pill. Going to be interesting dating it!! Lol I'm still in shock!
