Waiting to try, and cycle a mess from the pill

Just wondering if there are any other lurkers in the same boat as me, planning to TTC in December/January?

I came off the pill three months ago and have only had one pathetic AF in that time, so very glad I came off early but also pretty anxious at how messed up things are, 1st cycle was 39 days, this one is 40 and courting.

So who's with me? I can't be the only person on here who is actually hoping for AF!

I'm struggling with the app at the moment for the same reason, but have only been using it for about 5weeks. I guess the more information we put in it, the longer we use it for and as our cycles get in to more of a routine it will be more useful. I like it because you can store all the information in one place.
Yeah I bought mine from eBay. Haven't got it out of the packet yet. As soon as my mother in law left we went out and haven't been back long. I'm going to open it up in the morning and start using it from Monday.
Fingers crossed we both get AF soon! I hate waiting!!

Lots of posts of posts to catch up on! Been out Xmas shopping today and thinking how lovely it would it would be to have an extra seat at the table next Christmas (or high chair!) This time of the year is made for kids! New Girl, I'm on CD20. If my OPKs are anything to go by then I potentially ov'd last Sunday and could test next weekend. My cycles are so long though I just have a feeling I haven't ov'd at all yet! Hoping AF passes quick for you and you can look forward to trying this cycle Smile
Hope you're all well. Welcome, Chapman! it's so good to be able to come on here and share our TTC tips and troubles! I've been feeling really 'blah' this week. Painful sore throat and today just feeling generally run down, hence why I haven't been on much! Hopefully it's passes soon! Xx

cnchapmanxx · 28/11/2015 18:57

Thanks Vicky I've got that app but find it useless cause it's tellin me today should be my best day to get pregnant says I'm on 10.0 for fertility but I've done my opks and it came back negative so just going to have to wait for AF to show its face haha! Just hoping it's before Christmas as we fly to New York on Boxing Day! Il be on holiday with my kits and temping haha! Vicky did you buy your temp thing from eBay? Do I need to buy one to measure my temp? Xxx

Poin86 · 28/11/2015 18:42

Ohh lots of messages to catch up on!

Although AF made an appearance on Thursday its basically stopped now - i can deal with 2 day periods haha Grin. No real pain but have felt very tired but was rushing about all yesterday.

I did put my withdrawal bleed on Ovia, just so i can track when it happened although im not thinking of it as a real period but seems odd that was on the 26th Oct and my period appeared on the 26th Nov! No huge mood swings like i was having on the pill so a huge selling point to my OH Wink

Good luck with your temping girls, jope you get the results from it soon and hope those still waiting for their period get it soon!xx

Vicky2307 · 28/11/2015 15:40

Wow messages soon build up on here!!

Yvonne, we have been trying since May when I stopped the pill. AF has only made 1 appearance since then!!

Hi cnchapmanxx. I'm using Ovia app. Your able to track everything on there.

My thermometer has just arrived...luckily with it being Xmas and packages arriving for that I was careful while I unpacked the parcel as my Mother in Law was here! Could have been an interesting conversation. We haven't told anyone we r trying.

Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 11:14

Chapman, don't worry you will pick it all up quickly. Iv only been ttc for two months and temping for one. I loiter on a few threads so pick up quite a lot there. And the fertility apps give you loads of info. Fertility friend is definitely best for temping, you can get free app for I phone. Fertility friend also has a forum which I don't use (I'm obsessed enough without another forum) but it's helpful having a look at other peoples charts on there. X

cnchapmanxx · 28/11/2015 11:05

Thanks for the advice girlies il start to look into that this weekend is ther an app I can use for temping?? I have an iPhone haha.. I seriously have no clue on what in doing so I'm so thankful for all your help! You seem like pro's at ttc! Xxx

Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 10:50

Ooh good symptom with the nosebleeds then. Hopefully AF gets out of the way quickly so you can get onto new cycle.

Yeah ff is better for temping. Draws you a cover line at OV based on your temps, which ovia doesn't. And i think the chart is easier to read.

Iv had a Google.. Just lots of lovely positive cheery stories about pelvic inflammatory disease, stis and cancer! Lol. Think il step away from Google. Don't think I have anything like that (and I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so I would probably have noticed symptoms). They seemed to be talkin about general pain during sex and Iv not had it before. X

NewGirl2015 · 28/11/2015 09:56

Don't worry about TMI sunny think we are all way past that Wink
Never heard of this or experienced it, I'd have a look on Google, could it be anything to do with implantation? That's a complete guess, I've heard of implantation bleeding but not pain.

So my nosebleed seems to have been a correct symptom, I've started getting some brown spotting this morning.
Think I'm going to get fertility friend for when I start temp tracking, it looks a bit more scientific than Ovia!

Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 09:22

Sorry tmi coming up (this forum is a very weird idea really, sharing gory bodily function details with strangers! sorry!). We dtd this morning. 1st time since end of fertile window. Ff says I'm day 7po but I'm somewhere between 5-8dpo. Had a pain in EXACTLY the same place as this months OV pain all through dtd. No pain anywhere else. Gone now. What could have caused that!? Maybe just ovary sensitive from popping out egg? They do get little ruptures where egg has come out so that was all I could think it would be. anyone had similar? Don't think Iv had it before but maybe just more aware now I'm looking for things. X

Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 09:17

Temp tracking is where you take you basal body temp (your resting temp as soon as you wake up, before you et up or move around) everyday. You should see a temp spike after ovulation to prove you have OV'd and should stay high after If you are pregnant, if you are not pregnant your temp will dip before AF arrives. Google fertility friend charts for example. Fertility friend is better for temp charting that ovia.

If you temp I would carry on opks as well as temping can only prove you have OV'd after 3 consecutive high temps by which time you are out of fertile window.

Sounds like you are doing the opks right, probably just a longer cycle cod of pill. (My first off pill was 98 days! Bet the others on this thread are fed up of hearing me say that!!! Lol) xx

cnchapmanxx · 28/11/2015 09:01

Hi sunny & new girl thanks for the replies! The opks I bought are green top and they had quite good reviews but I think il get some more this weekend of a different brand! Yeah that ovia app is a bit sceptical because technically my withdrawal bleed wasn't a proper period so I can't really use it or use anything until I actually have one! Tbh sunny I haven't had one in that long I've forgot but I was always quite regular when I was younger so hoping for 28-30 day cycle! I always test LH on a night about 5 when j get in from work tried one past 5 nights all been negative. Oh what's temp tracking I've heard of it but don't know how it works?? XXXX

Sunnydays321 · 28/11/2015 06:41

Hi Scottish lady, glad ad has settled quickly! Good luck and fingers crossed for this cycle.. Sounds like you've covered all bases!

New girl, oh I do love google! I thought I might break Google with the amount of searching I did when period didn't come back! :)

Welcome chapman. How long is your cycle normally? Don't worry, if you had a withdrawal bleed 14th of nov you won't be due your period for a couple of weeks yet. If your cycles is 28 days you would be fertile about now... But period is quite likely to get delayed, messed up first cycle. If you have plenty of opks keep using one a day until you've had peak. Remember to test in afternoon, 2-6, as LH isn't released in morning urine as much. Hold your wee for 3-4 hours before testing. Keep urine concentrated so try not to drink much for a few hours before testing. Also the cheaply sticks are all different. I had some pink top one steps that were rubbish. And some green top one steps that work. If you don't get any results you could try a different brand. Xx

NewGirl2015 · 28/11/2015 01:15

Sunny me too, hopefully she arrives and I'm not going mad!! Googled it and it's called vicarious menstruation, it's a hormonal thing apparently which is interesting as I don't get a lot of other hormonal symptoms.

Socttishlady welcome back, glad to hear your cycle is settling down! I was also on Cerelle, although I had a break between this and combined pills which I was on for longer before being diagnosed with migraine. Keep us posted on how you get on.

Cnchamp welcome to you too, the support and info on here is great, as well as some lovely positive BFP stories! If you are new to tracking your cycle and/or are not regular don't use Ovia as gospel, it's better for recording your own data rather than prediction. Fertile cervical mucus is usually clear and stretchy like egg white rather than white and sticky so keep an eye on this to give yourself a better idea.
Quite a few of us ladies are using / about to start using temping as well tracking CM or OPK's .
Any questions just ask, someone on here will know the answer Wink
Xx

ScottishLady7 · 27/11/2015 23:03

Hi guys,
I popped up early in the thread and just wanted to update you all.
I had come off dianette in mid October and then started trying straight away. I was concerned after reading lots of stories about taking months and months before cycles returning to normal after coming off the pill.
Since I last posted, AF appeared 32 days after my withdrawal bleed started when I stopped the pill. I'm so pleased, this seems to be my body getting back into the swing of things.
I'm now in my "fertile window" if calculations are correct and we are trying our best to cover our bases and began dtd regularly from a few days before the start of the fertile window and intend on continuing for a few days after before I give DH a break!!
Fx and Fx to all of you lovely ladies too!!!!

cnchapmanxx · 27/11/2015 22:51

Hi lovely ladies :) so happy I've found this post! Was so nice reading everyone else is going through the same struggles of coming off the pill and waiting for the body to get back to normal!!

A bit about me I'm 25, been married 2 years in December and were ttc in the new year so i came off my cerelle mini pill at the start of November .. Had a withdrawal period for 4 days.. Took my pill for 2 days I don't know why I just thought oh crap what happens if I get pregnant now when we are trying for new year then decided stuff it it could take ages so stopped taking it and then had another withdrawal bleed on 14th-17th nov and since then nothing. I've bought 50 opks from eBay for 4.99 and downloads that ovia app that says starting today should be my ovulation window but i keep taking them sticks and they come back negative.. But when I went to the toilet twice today I've had sticky white (ecwm) is it called? So I don't know what's actually happening. I just wish I had an AF so I knew where my body is at. In feeling hormonal though as I sat and cried earlier on for no reason and I've been so tired and had headaches. The wait is stressing me out haha! But congratulations to all you who have have bfp :) hoping to join the rest of you on this journey xxxx

Sunnydays321 · 27/11/2015 19:54

Sorry about the BfN Vicky.

New girl, not heard of a nosebleed as sign of AF but would be interesting to see if she arrives and it's a sign for you.

Nothing to report. Nice little temp rise this morning, well over cover line now. Was worried they were quite low. It's funny I'm normally freezing and cuddled up to hot water bottle but Iv definitely felt warmer since I OVd. I never would have really noticed or thought about it if I wasn't temping. Two week wait is boring! Only day 6! Xx

Yvonne1986 · 27/11/2015 13:12

That is a random symptom! I'd been on the pill for so many years I can't remember what my symptoms used to be!! X

NewGirl2015 · 27/11/2015 13:05

I think AF is going to be on her way soon, just got a nosebleed which is a totally random symptom which I remember from before I was on the pill!! Anyone else ever had this?! Such a strange one.

NewGirl2015 · 27/11/2015 12:49

Good news Yvonne, again a fresh start to a new cycle for you.
Vicky, shame about your BFN even if expected, is so hard to be patient isn't it!
I've been off the pill since August and we've not actually been trying yet, we've been using condoms around ovulation, except for this month when I got my timings wrong!! We're going to try next month anyway. I tested last night and got a BFN although it wasn't an early indicator test so will do another one when they arrive.
Cookie how are you, how long till you can test?
Sunny, can't wait for my paraphernalia to arrive!!

Yvonne1986 · 27/11/2015 09:47

Hi Vicky

Even tho you suspect it a BFN is not nice is it I was the same on Tuesday I new I wasn't but was still gutted anyway! I've been ttc since stopping my pill in Sept which I know isn't long but it really does feel like forever!

How long have you been trying x

Vicky2307 · 27/11/2015 09:15

Tested again this morning & negative just as I suspected!!
Roll on AF again and then we can try again!
How long has everyone been trying....or not preventing?

Yvonne1986 · 27/11/2015 09:03

AF has finally arrived on CD 70 so relieved fingers crossed my next cycle will be shorter! X

Sunnydays321 · 27/11/2015 08:12

Hi Yvonne and Vicky? Any news, have you tested again?

New girl.. That's exciting that all your ttc paraphernalia has arrived! I really enjoyed the OPKs to start with but after 23 days I was a bit bored of peeing in a pot! Glad I OV'd eventually! X

Vicky2307 · 26/11/2015 22:45

Still no change here, am going to do a 2nd & final test in the morning but am pretty sure it will be negative - have had zero signs to say otherwise!
I have also ordered a thermometer, will see how I get on with that! Just waiting for AF & hoping it doesn't take as long as last time to come along!!
Gx91, I agree with NewGirl, a close friend of mine suffered very bad with sickness. She kept a packet of ginger biscuits on her bedside table, 1 every morning b4 she got up. It didn't stop it completely but helped a lot!
Also huge congratulations, it's great to read positive stories on here!!
