Ha ha Quell - good to spread the cost of these purchases out at least!

Come and join us in the TWW madness bonkers - what time of day did you OPK? I've heard you can sometimes miss your peak if you try and the wrong time of day and I've heard some people test twice a day!

Quell · 04/09/2015 15:52

Bought an Infant car seat and isofix base today from mandp. The temptation (price wise) was too much! Our youngest would still fit in it but dh suggested keeping it new for the next one. I don't know who is maddest!

Thisisbonkers · 04/09/2015 15:36

I think I'm now into my tww but as I never actually got a positive on the opk I'm assuming I've not ovulated Sad that's 9 cycles of no positives though so I'm hoping I'm just doing it wrong Sad (one positive at the very beginning - lulling me into thinking it would be an easy ride).

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 04/09/2015 14:49

Thanks Carrot - definitely didn't have a positive when I was trying then! Who knows what that means. To be honest, I'm not sure I'll keep up with OPKing... I think it put too much pressure on things and I have now realised that DH does not perform well under pressure! Just going to try and be relaxed about it and enjoy the fun times when the mood takes us.

CarrotVan · 04/09/2015 14:18

Darker than the control line for opks toffee

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 04/09/2015 14:08

Ooooh keeping my fingers crossed for you Violet - hopefully this will be your month! You could be in that 75%, but even if you're not... you'll get there. I feel so silly getting my hopes up on cycle 1 but you can't help it, can you? I'm trying to keep myself occupied but being sat at work all day doesn't help... my work just isn't interesting enough to keep me distracted. I also selfishly am really hoping I can go on maternity leave before we have a REALLY insane and busy period next June/July.

I'm the first of my friends (as far as I know) to be actively trying. One of my besties had a baby a couple of months ago but it was very much an unexpected pregnancy... I keep thinking that if she managed to do it accidentally, surely I'll have better luck if I'm actively trying? It just doesn't work like that though, does it?

I didn't get any positive OPKs but I think I may have started testing too late or something... and I only tested over a 5 day period as then went camping with my parents and didn't much fancy peeing into a cup on a campsite. Also, I find it really hard to know how dark the testing line has to be...! How dark is dark enough? It's confusing.

Violet88 · 04/09/2015 13:49

Toffeeapple sympathizing with you as also in the 2ww, AF is due anytime between Monday and Thursday (cycle usually between 26 and 29 days). I'm also trying to tell myself not to get my hopes up and that our chances aren't that great this month. We've dtd every 2-3 days throughout this cycle so if I ov'd theres a chance we caught it, but I didn't get any positive opk (although tbf only testing once a day from cd13), so I'm telling myself I've got little chance, but then still worried about getting AF/BFN. As i think it will feel especially hard this month as its our 6th cycle, and I keep reading stats like 75% get pregnant within 6 months Sad

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 04/09/2015 13:40

Oh I know ToffeeApple the symptom spotting is a nightmare.

I'm CD6 - tomorrow I will start testing on my clear blue fertility monitor. I think I'm in for a long haul though as the last two months I've ovulated late - not until CD18 or so.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 04/09/2015 13:27

Ahhhh, all the uncertainty is just a real nuisance, isn't it Emzlou!? I wish getting pregnant was like flicking a switch and was a bit more instantaneous. Would help with the mental torture of it all - and I'm only Cycle 1!

I am a week off testing. AF is due next Wednesday but promised myself I'd only test on Friday if AF was late. That's estimating that my cycle will be about 32 days. I've been HYPER-aware of what my body is doing this month and have convinced myself that my boobs are more ache-y and bigger than usual for this time in my cycle (I do usually get ache-y boobs before a period) and have been feeling quite crampy which I'm not usually - including some quite sharp pains? And I promised myself I would try not to symptom spot... Keep telling myself that our chances aren't very high this month and not to get my hopes up... but it's so hard!

DH is being very sweet though. I'm trying not to share a lot of my pregnant-paranoia with him as don't want him to think I'm as obsessed with it as I am (!!!!), but I actually think he's trying to symptom spot too! Any time I mention something like feeling tired, or achy... he gets so curious! "Is that normal, sweet?" "How long have you felt like that?" "Why do you think that is?"

Bless him. He quite often doesn't express how he's feeling outright so although we're obviously actively trying to get pregnant, I'm never quite sure how excited he is about it or how soon he'd like it to happen so these little things just give me little clues!

Emzlou15 · 04/09/2015 00:00

CD 36 or 41? Depends if you count from the start of my Withdrawl bleed from coming off the pill. Still no AF, still don't think I've ovulated. Every morning I want to test but am trying to resist until at least the 20th to be around hubbys birthday. Really don't think we've been lucky but with me not knowing if I'm even having a cycle yet I still cling on to that faint glimmer of hope...

KittyandTeal · 03/09/2015 17:17

Quell I was using pressed and soft cups. I used a mooncup with dd1 which worked great.

It's obviously not worked yet for me. I didn't bother this month as I got thrush last month, I'm sure it wasn't those but I thought I'd have a month off. P,U.S. We're being a bit more relaxed this month while we reassess ttc.

Belle8 · 03/09/2015 17:08

Haha thanks toffeeapple only thing that put me off doing it in the day is not weeing for 4 hours! I try to drink lots of water at work and 4 hours sounds like a long time but might give that a go next month. Are you following SMEP this cycle? X

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 03/09/2015 16:27

Hi Belle - I recently read the SMEP book (Sperm Meet Egg Plan) and that recommended OPK'ing in the afternoon which is what I was doing a couple of weeks ago. Was pretty weird doing it at work, and I found all sorts of sneaky ways to find disposable cups at work and use the disabled loo for a bit of privacy!

Quell · 03/09/2015 16:05

Posted too soon! Hello everyone. I'll read through the whole thread when I get time. Not expecting any bfp this month as first month and (tmi?) didn't dtd much after surge. Used preseed and softcups though. Anyone else using these?

Hmm thanks thisisbonkers I've been testing always first thing in the morning maybe that's where I have been going wrong? What cycle are you? Confused I think I was just panicking yesterday. I was trying to explain to my husband but we ended up in fits of laughter as I just thought it was the end of the world and I had no eggs. But let's just hope it a) missed it b) might be happening post CD 20 or c) maybe I don't ovulate every month.

Obliviated · 03/09/2015 15:29

CD39 here and still no AF.

I'm very sure I'm not pregnant though and have given up testing.

3Princes99 · 03/09/2015 13:39

Still no af, 2 days late, cramps have gone but still bfn!!!

Thisisbonkers · 03/09/2015 08:22

Other than the first time I ever used one, I've never had a positive Confused but this cycle (#10) is the first time I've been doing twice a day. The evenings are stronger than first thing of a morning. I'm hoping tonight or tomorrow for a strong line.

Spotsondots · 02/09/2015 23:29

*have

Spotsondots · 02/09/2015 23:29

Day 40 here. Still no AF... Crazy cycles and think we'd be seriously lucky to HSV conceived this month so basically just waiting for Her to show her face...

Belle8 · 02/09/2015 21:47

I'm only on cycle 3 last cycles were 48 and 36. So do you usually still get a positive at this stage seeing you have longer cycles too? X

Thisisbonkers · 02/09/2015 21:43

Snap belle, cd20 here and no positive. But a 35 day cycle is not unusual here so fingers crossed for you

Belle8 · 02/09/2015 19:40

Hi!
Sorry for the long absence had a night mare forgetting password get blocked out etc!
Wow this certainly seems to be a lucky bus! Congrats to all those BFP!! (Teeny bit jealous but only in a good way Grin)
So I've been trying to stick to SMEP but am on CD19 and no positive OPK Confused this is my first month using OPKs so went for the clear blue digi (only £15 in morrisons for 10 compared to £20 in boots ) I started as SMEP said at CD10 and not one smiley face :( feeling really down about it and wondering if I even ovulated the months before? Can anybody offer any advice? My packs run out and planned to buy some more on the way home from work to keep going but I was feeling so rubbish and down I didn't bother Sad
Xx

KittyandTeal · 02/09/2015 18:13

Toffee, I know it's fun isn't it.

I have to say I find temping interesting and as I'm so clueless I can rarely read too much into it Grin

I pretty much know I'm out this month anyway. Dh was away working Notting hill then rubbish shifts since sat so we've pretty much missed my fertile time. Not too bothered tbh, if I conceived this month my dates would run almost exactly concurrently with dd2s which I'm not sure I could handle tbh.
