Klaptrap I hope you have good luck with the monitor - I am on the first cycle with mine - got my first high reading today!

No idea wtf is going on with me - the brown discharge is much heavier today. Basically it's as if my period has restarted, but only with old blood. I don't get it at all.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 07/09/2015 14:46

Ahh sorry to hear you're out this month Violet - 7 is a lucky number, right?! I'll be really interested to hear how you get on with temping, providing you remember! Ha ha.

Hugs Kitty - it's completely okay to have mixed feelings about other people's babies, I reckon! No one in my team at work is currently (to my knowledge!) pregnant, but I can imagine I'd have all sorts of mixed feelings if any one announced a pregnancy any time soon. Obviously would be happy for them, but I think I would also hate myself for how jealous I'd be at the same time. HORRIBLE thing to be jealous but so natural.

Well... I've just found out I've won a £50 Aldi voucher to spend on wine!!! Perfect timing really as if I don't get the BFP I'm hoping for this week, at least I can be happy about having lots of wine to drink! Win-win situation, right?

Klaptrap · 07/09/2015 14:26

Le Sigh.

CD32 now, two negative tests and still no sign of my period. I guess this means I ovulated even later than I thought (could be CD12, 16 or possibly 23 - making me 21, 18 & 10dpo respectively). So I am still waiting!

Really not convinced it is my month, so I have ordered the Clear Blue Advanced fertility monitor (great deal on Ocado at the moment + £20 off first order code) to try next cycle. Very excited by this as...
a) I love gadgets
b) You do the tests with FMU, which is a revelation and will be so much easier than afternoon OPKs.
c) It takes the guesswork out of interpreting those sodding little strips (Ooh, is the line dark enough, I just don't know!)

Good luck to those still waiting!

KittyandTeal · 07/09/2015 11:29

So my 2 colleagues who went on maternity at the start of the summer holidays have both had their babies is week. I'm unsure how I feel tbh.

I finally got a temp rise on day 16! With no fertile cm. very weird. I'm now 5dpo so a little while to wait.

Violet88 · 07/09/2015 11:14

Youandme It was right next to my bed, I remembered to put it there last night and still forgot when I woke up. Got out of bed, went to the loo, brushed teeth. Came back and saw it on floor next to bed!! I'm sure once I start properly it will become routine!!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 07/09/2015 10:59

Violet I just keep the thermometer right next to the bed and take my temp as soon as my alarm goes off. I set an alarm for weekends as well, but then I don't bother reading and recording the temp until later - I just go back to sleep!

This is my third cycle temping, and it's taken a while to get into a good habit with it.

Violet88 · 07/09/2015 10:47

I'm out! AF started very slowly yesterday evening and in full force this morning. So onto cycle 7 now! I'm looking on the bright side though that at least it came today on my day off, so by the time I'm back to work on Wednesday I shouldn't be ill. And also it was another 26 day cycle so it didn't leave me waiting till Thursday getting my hopes up!! Also on the bright side at least I've got my transamic acid to use to make AF less horrible!

Sorry about AF and that your feeling down about things Flat It's horrible! And some months it does get to you more than others, particularly if you thought you had a good shot! I was worried I might be more upset this time as 6 months seems to be a bit of a milestone, as does say 9 months, 12 months etc, but seems I'm ok (so far). Bonkers Flatwhite people just don't think do they!!! So insensitive!

I had decided to start temping this cycle and today I forgot. I forgot on the first day! So that's not a very good start!! How do you remember to do it??

Sorry about AF's Star

Good luck to those left in the 2ww

Flatwhite we have the same next test date!

I use some cheopo plastic shot glasses and go and test in the disabled toilets at work. My colleagues must wonder why I am in the loo for 10+ minutes every afternoon...

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 07/09/2015 09:30

Quell - you're a genius! Hadn't even considered using old lids for stuff - will definitely start a collection going! We do have a small supply of paper/polystyrene cups at work but I think it might be a bit suspicious if the supply diminished one-by-one... Will definitely be pinching your idea!

I'm on 2 days before AF is due. I feel like my boobs have gone up at least one cup size but don't know if this is me being super-hyper aware of everything or just the result of eating a lot of cake this month. Everytime I get my hopes up that this week might bring about a BFP, I'm trying to curb my expectations and diminish the feeling. DH agrees that boobs have definitely gotten bigger and I think he's quite enjoying them!

Still holding out until Friday to test if AF hasn't arrived. Just arranged to meet my friend and her 6 week old baby for lunch on Friday so don't know if that was a ridiculously silly thing to do - can imagine it'll put me in a pretty vile mood if this isn't my month. Ah well.

Fingers crossed for everyone else testing this week. xxx

Quell · 07/09/2015 01:44

thisisbonkers I get round the testing at work situation by having a small make up bag with me. It has in it ov/pg strips and an assortment of lids (pump toothpaste/old toiletries tops/deodorant caps etc) which I have flash sterilised. I can then chuck them after peeing.

Maybe cut up egg boxes could work too?

Thisisbonkers · 06/09/2015 19:44

I'm cycle 10, I think flatwhite. No tests yet but I think I will make an appointment next month, or maybe the month after.

That's good to hear about the opks. Reckon I could reasonably take a strong negative as a rough estimate of ovulation? I really can't bring myself to do it at work, not least as I'll have nothing to pee in!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 06/09/2015 14:38

Keeping my fingers crossed that AF doesn't rear her ugly head for you EmzLou - you never know!

AND BIG HUGS to flatwhite, Kitty and Bonkers - it's seems so unfair that those actively trying can have such a hard time when some people get pregnant by accident. Love the term oopsy baby. Great way to describe it! I echo... if only it was that easy!

I'm the first of my friends (as far as I know) to be actively trying. I was determined not to tell anyone but ended up confiding in one of my besties who has recently had an oopsy baby! Felt like she might understand but she doesn't really... I imagine she'll think it's super simple to get pregnant! She did it without even trying (although, I have a sneaky suspicion she may have not been that active in not-trying...).

I'm 5 days away from testing. I could technically test on Wednesday I think (when AF is due), but I'm going to wait until Friday (if I can!) and AF doesn't show up. Fingers crossed.

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 06/09/2015 13:59

TMI alert - I'm CD8 today. My period finished on CD4, as usual. But yesterday and today I've been having some brown discharge when wiping after going to the loo, kind of like old blood? No red or pink at all, and it's very light. I had a clear smear and a colposcopy in July (follow up to treatment last year) so I think it's unlikely to be an issue with my cervix.

Does anyone else ever get this? There's no smell or itching or anything like that. Is it just one of those things?

Belle8 · 06/09/2015 09:32

Hi cocothanks for that it does make it easier when you hear similar stories! I think I may of ovulated around CD21/22 but I didn't bother with anymore opks. Even when I did get ovulation signs we still kept to DTD every other day so doubt that will be enough. So I guess I'm in the TWW now too. Think I need to update my stats as cycle was way longer:

ETD: approx 20th / 21st September

coco808 · 06/09/2015 08:48

Hi Everyone! sorry to hear that some of us are having a hard time. TBh i've been really struggling too as two best friends are pregnant and sharing all their happy updates and I was due the same time as them.

Regarding OPK worrries... I just wanted to share my experience. I wasn't getting a smiley on my digital CB before I had DS. i panicked so much and worried. Then I started doing the CB 2-4 times a day once I saw EWCM. I did it for around 4 days only and now I tend to always pick up a solid smiley. It tends to happen around 4 p.m. for me and is sometimes gone by the same night. It was the same in the cycles I conceived, so don't worry, you can obviously still get pregnant even if your surge is short. Also I ovulate cd 21-ish in a 34 days cycle

So I am in the 2 ww. Although my temps are too erratic this month and I don't think I have ovulated. Not much hope.... Sad

FlatWhiteToGo · 06/09/2015 08:46

Thanks Kitty - I'm sorry to hear you're probably out. Hopefully next month will be luckier.

Bonkers - I'm sorry you're having a tough time too. We're about the same stage, aren't we? Have you seen a doc or had any tests done? I am so sorry about your friend's mum's comments; people just have absolutely no idea. 3 months before we started trying my 19 year old cousin met her (now) fiance. In that time she has managed to get pregnant AND have the baby (simply unbelievable!). This has all been a massive stab in the heart, but the other day when I met said baby and was doing my best to be brave and not cry she said to me and DH "Why don't you two have one. You've been together ages and babies are awesome'. FFS.

Emzlou15 · 05/09/2015 23:54

Looks like I may be out of September..? (TMI inbound) Found the smallest amount of spotting in my pants and then no more when I wiped but am expecting AF to show up in full force tomorrow morning.
Won't be too dissapointed with an AF as this is first cycle off the pill so it will be good to just know what's happening with my body!

Thisisbonkers · 05/09/2015 19:33

It gets me down too, flatwhite. My best friend's mum told me I suited it and when was I going to have a baby the other night when snuggling friend's oopsy baby (her third). Like it's that easy Angry

KittyandTeal · 05/09/2015 17:04

Sorry to hear you're feeling low flatwhite. I'm also feeling odd about ttc. I think I'm mainly trying to ignore it atm. According to ff I ovulated on day 16 which is really late for me.

Tbh I may as well add my stats for next month, I'm only 3dpo but the closest we dtd to ovulating was 4 days. I also seemed to have creamy cm on the days leading up to ovulation where as I had ewcm while we were dtd. So I think none of them will have survived that long.

It seems to be such a long road

FlatWhiteToGo · 05/09/2015 15:35

Hi everyone

Sorry I've been quiet for the past few weeks. I'm still lurking but haven't been posting much as the whole TTC thing has really been getting me down. I really thought this was our month, but then AF came a few days ago and hit me like a massive sledge-hammer Sad.

If it's ok I'll stay on this bus, although my OTD is in Oct. It looks like there have been a lot of BFPs lately. Hopefully us stragglers can catch up and get one too!

So here goes...

STATS:

NAME: FlatWhiteToGo
AGE: 30

It's day 43. BFN. No AF. ANOTHER 12 week scan pic and baby announcement on FB this morning. Feeling pretty shit about it all. Going to make a GP appointment next week and wait for AF to arrive...Sad

Thisisbonkers · 04/09/2015 21:35

toffee, I was doing 7am when I get up, and between 7 & 8pm when getting home. I can't bring myself to do it at work Blush I think my peak would have been on Weds. Fingers crossed!

star1980 · 04/09/2015 21:01

Period arrived today so I'm out :( onto cycle 11. Best of luck to everyone, hope there are more BFPs on this bus!

Emu123 · 04/09/2015 16:38

I am getting frustrated as af still hasn't started but I'm still spotting - only when I reallt wipe (tmi!) but it's getting heavier. I am definitely late now but don't think there is any point testing - think if I saw a line and carried on spotting/got heavier I'd be gutted so would rather not know if it's a chemical :(

Emu123 · 04/09/2015 16:20

Toffeeapple, it's hard to not let it take over but I think it gets easier - I was crazy in my first month and feel less so now! Fx this is your month though!! You never know.

I really struggle to get a positive on opks. I find the clear blue dual tests a lot easier as don't have to worry about holding my pee in the afternoon!
