Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

Thanks Pixie! Sorry to hear the dreaded witch has had arrive. AF arrived yesterday, in a way I am relieved as I want to get on top of thing with PCOS & maybe it will help me relax TTC given I now have a explanation for the long cycles rather than symptom spotting all the time! FX for a Christmas surprise eh!x

Pixie1988 · 28/11/2015 09:08

Sorry to hear that woody, but as others said now you know, you can get the help you need, keep positive!

Af due today/tomorrow, I'm 12dpo today and tested this morning with a bfn! Sad just expecting visitor to turn up now, damn! Had a good feeling about this month too! X

My auntie is a nurse and she said if you request a test to find out they can so no, but if you then push for a referral as a consequence then they can't say no. It is really difficult, I was very lucky. I would ask for a test and see what they say! Explain its for your own sanity xx

chillthefXXkout · 27/11/2015 11:36

Hi Woody yes, I am concerned as my cycles are anywhere between 38 & 54 days so far...they are just completely erratic and I remember them being like that even before I went on the pill.

I agree with you and Ren that it's pot luck whether the GP listens to you and is willing to do anything before things go on for way too long than they need to.

ren2903 · 27/11/2015 08:24

Thank goodness you got that doctor woody! It's so frustrating when doctors don't go the full mile or listen to your concerns. I've recently moved doctors as there is one in our village so made sense to be local in the event of a BFP. I've not found one at my practice I think fully listens and goes the extra mile yet, my old one was amazing she gave me a full set of bloods when I said to her we wanted to TTC x

Woody096 · 26/11/2015 20:58

Thank Chilli & Ren.

I actually went to the doctors as I have really bad acid reflux, they were doing blood tests to rule out an ulcer.
I mentioned I was TTC & said I was a bit irregular so nothing had happened, she asked as it effected what acid reflux meds she could give me. she said we might as well do a full work up at the same time as she thought I was anaemic too! She was actually really lovely and a locum. Had I had the doctor I saw today I doubt anything would have been done. So it was pot luck that I got some bloods done. I am not sure how the rest of the diagnosis will go, the doctor said even with pcos I should have 12 months of TTC before making a referral, which might be fruitless if you're not ovulating in the first place, I guess it's the cost. Do you have concerns Chill?

ren2903 · 26/11/2015 17:45

Sorry to hear that woody, I seem to remember reading Victoria Beckham had that and she's got 4 now so there is hope! X

chillthefXXkout · 26/11/2015 17:35

Sorry to hear that Woody096 but hopefully with a diagnosis they can give you all the help you might need. I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did you convince them to give you a blood test and check it all out? I'm having a hard time getting anyone at my GP surgery to listen to anything I say...

Woody096 · 26/11/2015 17:20

Thanks ladies! All a bit out of the blue as I have no other symptoms other than long cycles! Hopefully the scan will reveal more and the blood tests to confirm I am actually ovulating! X

Brenna24 · 26/11/2015 16:49

Big hugs Woody. PCOS doesn't mean you can't conceive though it may make it a bit harder. My sister had it and fell pregnant by accident the first time, then had a second planned child. At least with a diagnosis you can get treatment to help.

XL · 26/11/2015 10:52

Sorry to hear that woody. Sending hugs x

Woody096 · 26/11/2015 10:10

Hi ladies!

Had my blood test results which indicate I have PCOS, which is disappointing. I saw a different doctor to the one I had seen previously, she didn't know that i had been asked to come back. Told her I thought it was to do with PCOS tests, she basically said it was unlikely, pulled up the results and immediately back tracked! So I am waiting for further tests. Came home & did a test, BFN! Also disappointing! So all a bit glum really!

Brenna24 · 25/11/2015 17:35

Best of luck Woody

Woody096 · 25/11/2015 12:50

AF has not appeared I am day 32 now. My longest cycle this year is 38 days so going to hold out until then. Randomly I had a blood test last week when I mentioned I am TTC. my doctor called me yesterday & wants to see me tomorrow! Apparently the test showed I am not immune to Rubella and require a vaccine & he wants to discuss the other results but would elaborate! All very strange! Will keep you posted!

Pixie1988 · 25/11/2015 12:34

Ah sorry to hear that brenna.

Any news yet woody??

Xx

Brenna24 · 24/11/2015 09:19

Unfortunately OH is away for a week in december, right around my fertile window. Testing positive on christmas eve would be amazing but highly unlikely. Oh well, at least I get to drink at christmas.

Woody096 · 23/11/2015 21:06

I am sorry to hear this Brenna! Hopefully it will be a special Christmas bean 😜

XL · 23/11/2015 18:12

Sorry to hear that brenna x

Brenna24 · 22/11/2015 22:53

Bfn on saturday. AF arrived this evening, 3 days late. Boo hiss.

XL · 22/11/2015 12:46

Good luck pixie and woody! Have my fx for you x

Woody096 · 21/11/2015 19:05

Pixie, it only takes that one time,Wink so don't be too disheartened! My cycle is anything from 28 - 39 days so going to hold out for another week! Should be easy as DH is the other side of the world from Mon & I wouldn't want to test without him here! Fx! Double shifts sound brutal! Don't over do it! X

Pixie1988 · 21/11/2015 18:20

I hope she stays away woody.
I'm on day 24; cycles go from 29-32. Trying to keep busy so working double shifts all weekend, didn't dtd as much as I would like over my fertile window so not getting my hopes up. X

Woody096 · 21/11/2015 12:11

Morning ladies! Hope you are well? Today is day 28 for me. I think I am going to wait few more days before testing! (TMI) but I had some brownish spotting yesterday so suspect AF is on route! No other symptoms of either AF or BFP. Xx
