Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

Hello! Jumping on the bandwagon. We are TTC a little brother or sister for 22 month old DD. Conceived her on the first cycle, so fingers crossed lightening strikes twice! Currently obsessing over every twinge and symptom, and I'm sure in the last couple of weeks everyone I know and their mother have announced they are pregnant. Grr.

I freaked out a bit last Thursday with some bleeding mid cycle. Theories among the couple of friends who know I'm trying have covered ovulation bleeding, implantation bleeding, early miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. Great. So for those of you who haven't told friends yet, I don't blame you!

Name: MrsRhubarb
Age: 28
Cycle: #1
Testing: 27th - though I might not be able to wait until then!

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 12/08/2015 23:14

Thanks for your additional stats - I'll wait a day or so to see if anyone else joins and then update our list!

Welcome Horsey :) Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, hope things work out for you both soon. I'm not really sure when my period is due as this is my first cycle since coming off the pill.. but if I go for the average 28 days then it is due on the 19th, thought I'd wait until Saturday to test though just in case. Plus which ever way the news goes I'd prefer not to have to go straight to work lol!

Horsey21 · 12/08/2015 22:50

Hi ladies, is it ok if I join, been hanging around reading for a while and looking for a nice thread to join.

Here are my stats:
Name: Horsey

Age: 31
Cycle: #1 (after a missed miscarriage in May, conceived first month)
Testing: 22nd too!! (although AF due 16th)

Either period will come on Sunday/early next week as expected or I will be testing on the 22nd. I certainly don't "feel" pregnant BUT we timed it to perfection this month so thinking surely it's the one?

Looking forward to having some others to share the next week or so with!

Sunflower86 · 12/08/2015 22:40

Lily I did just the the same with chocolate mini rolls. Am keeping an eye out for my normal pre AF tendencies over the next few days but nothing in just yet. This week is crawling by so slowly, makes me look forward to work where i have enough distractions not to dwell!

Name: Pandabarney

Testing: 15th August

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 12/08/2015 22:14

I enjoyed Bake Off this evening whilst eating a pack of oreos.. Bliss! Not had any twinges or pain, apart from thinking some food tastes a bit strange the only other thing I've been keeping an eye on is my CM which isn't following any sort of pattern at all! It's so hard not to get your hopes up first time round huh? x

Katilo2 · 12/08/2015 20:17

Lily - you are my idol. I'm currently watching bake-off whilst googling.. (My bad) I don't remember having this many twinges before.. I guess I'm just trying to tune in to my body more at the minute.. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Now 3dpo and so any symptoms I am 'feeling' are most likely imaginary.. But I just ate a meal that I normally love and it was SO salty. OH didn't agree though.. Naturally, the thing to do in this situation is scour the internet looking for salty that in mouth in very early pregnancy.......

I think I'm having ovulation pains like what you ladies were describing a few days ago so took a opk and first positive yay!! Just waiting for DP to get home so I can jump on him. Tmi sorry lol x

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 12/08/2015 14:58

Oh please may I join too? (I think I've joined a few threads now... hope that's okay! Just a bit excited).

Pixie1988 · 12/08/2015 14:41

Name: pixie
Age: 27
Cycle: #1
Baby: #1
Testing: 26th August (I think! - only had one period since coming off contraception - which stopped my period- so im guessing how long my cycles are)

In the middle of my fertile window and still not had a positive opk ????

Monkey1987 · 12/08/2015 11:03

Like this idea!

Name: Monkey
Age: 28
Cycle: #1
Baby: #1
Testing: AF due 23rd so will probably test a couple of days after that if I'm late!

Not had any symptoms so far other than some AF related but think it's probably too early to tell!

Sunflower86 · 11/08/2015 22:10

Thats a good idea, can I join in...
Name: Ali
Age: 28
Cycle: #1
Baby: #1
Testing: 18th august

Ive had one of those symptoms from the list, which isnt very convincing. But its month #1 so ill keep optimistic and enjoy the journey and try try try not to get my hopes up for the 18th...

sophied1983 · 11/08/2015 20:34

My second AF was due 8 days ago but no sign of that. Also no ovulation symptoms, which I did have with first AF after coming off Pill. Feeling a bit stressed out today as impossible to know when fertile window is :'(

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 11/08/2015 20:32

I'm convinced my food tastes different! So over thinking everything lol! Doesn't help that my DH asks me every day if I think I'm pregnant.. He's more excited than me!

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 20:10

Yep! Me too!! Sad

Katilo2 · 11/08/2015 19:40

It's so frustrating.. From now until AF, I will feel all of those symptoms and will convince myself I'm pregnant. Then, I'll be crushed!

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 19:37

Fab idea lily!

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 19:36

not been pregnant before but I think the main ones are
implantation bleeding(brown)
Tender boobies!
Nausea
Tiredness
Some don't even have any of these and just get a missed period...Confused
It's a minefield!! You spend half your life on contraceptives trying to avoid it then bam! Obsession!!Grin

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 11/08/2015 19:33

I stole the idea from another thread.. they have spreadsheets going and everything, so organised.. I love it! Well I am a Project Manger so I love a bit of planning :)

xmaslisa · 11/08/2015 19:31

Name: Lisa
Age: 37
Cycle #2
Baby#1
Testing: 22nd August also!..(will hang on in there and wait!)

Katilo2 · 11/08/2015 19:20

The 22nd of August is popular ;)

OP posts:
Katilo2 · 11/08/2015 19:19

Its quite hard not to obsess though isn't it? I have everything crossed that it happens before Christmas for you.. You have a good few months! I have to keep reminding myself of the negative effects of stress so I don't get too caught up in it all.

Excellent idea Lily.

Name: Kat
Age: 28
Cycle: #1
Baby: # 1
Testing: AF due on 22nd August (will try to wait until then, but like a lot of you, I am an amazon customer and bought 15 cheap tests!)

For those of you who have been pregnant before, have you had symptoms before bfp?

Best wishes,
K x

Does anyone fancy making a list of when they are going to test? Then we can see how we all get on as the month goes by!

I'll start:

Name: Lily
Age: 30
Cycle: #1
Testing: 22 August I think (if I can hold out that long and AF hasn't turned up!)
