Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

Welcome to Ren and Lou, nice to see we are still getting new joiners.. it's going to be a exciting few weeks for us lot huh?

Sorry to hear about your testing today Sunflower.. has AF showed up for sure? I know we shouldn't expect these things to happen in the first month of trying but it's hard not to be hopeful.. I know I will feel so disappointed next week if it turns out that way, which is silly really when you think about it logically! We were planning to avoid a July/August baby too.. but now that we've started trying I think I might be too impatient to put things on hold for a few months!!

Lou13e · 14/08/2015 15:16

Hello lovely ladies, please can I join you? Im so excited about this whole process. My oh has two children from a previous relationship and they conceived pretty much instantly so am keeping fingers crossed it won't take us long.

Name: Louise
TTC: #1
Cycle: #2
Test: 5th Sept

Good luck everyone x

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 14/08/2015 14:45

Sorry to hear about your AF arrival sunflower - FX for next cycle or a later POAS just in case.

Welcome Ren! You're further along the TTC journey than I am, as I'm almost about to start trying. I came off the pill about 5 years ago I reckon, and I can't remember what my first periods were like after it but I remember being AS MOODY AS HELL. It was like the worst elongated PMT mood swings. I hope you're having a much easier time transitioning off it than I did. My DH was desperate for me to go back on the pill to end the horror! Ha ha.

I've heard it can take a while for your body to get back into the swing of things, but then again, you hear of some women conceiving straight away so I don't think there's any certainties!

ren2903 · 14/08/2015 14:17

Hi, hope you don't mind me joining Smile

Name:Ren
TTC : cycle2
Baby: #1
Test: 6th sep

I've also had what I thought were ovulation pains in my left side but didn't last any length of time.

I'm only in my second month so don't really have a clue what's going on with my cycle! I was on the pill for 16y so I think my body might be taking its time to get back to normal. My first period off the pill was very light and short, anyone else had the same?

xmaslisa · 14/08/2015 10:46

Sorry Ali... Still test on the 18th just to make sure tho xx

Monkey1987 · 14/08/2015 09:46

Sorry about your BFN, Sunflower. FX for next cycle.
I like May too, most of DH's family are May birthdays (and I love the name for a little girl... Too cliche to name a baby after the month?)

Horsey21 · 14/08/2015 07:56

Morning sunflower, hope you're ok. What a strange old month, and I agree, if it is just your period then for it to arrive early in first cycle of ttc is just so ironic. I also feel like this cycle or next cycle is perfect timing, an early summer baby. Fingers crossed next months the one. Don't get too down, it WILL happen xx

Sunflower86 · 14/08/2015 06:47

So its a BFN from me today. Plus its looking more like AFs visit by the hour, goodness knows why shes a nearly a week early this month of all months. Very frustrating after 2 years of exact regularity with my trusty app. Dont know if i should test on the day i was going to (18th) or just accept AFs visit for what it is. Might make a trip to the nurse either way just to see what might be going on. I was hoping this month would be it to avoid the late summers months for birth (plus i love May). Will try once more next month then pause for a couple maybe (or I might just scrap the birth month planning). Keeping my fingers crossed for you all next week x

xmaslisa · 14/08/2015 00:28

Ah good luck for tomorrow Ali! x

Sunflower86 · 13/08/2015 21:12

Thank you. Im still gonna test on the 18th even if its a BFN just because Im ever the optimist!

Horsey21 · 13/08/2015 20:53

Oooh sunflower, keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you for tomorrow xx

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 13/08/2015 19:49

I've got tummy ache this evening, but it's probably something to do with the entire bag of pick-a-mix I ate instead of lunch today Wink

Monkey1987 · 13/08/2015 19:45

FX for sunflower tomorrow too Smile

Monkey1987 · 13/08/2015 19:43

I've been feeling bloated and crampy today too but far too early to be AF! Don't want to get my hopes up just yet so keep having to tell myself it was probably last nights tea Hmm

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 13/08/2015 19:25

Ooo we have some more joiners Smile

Update to our list:

14 August: Ali (Sunflower)
15 August: Pandabarney
22 August: Kat, Lily, Lisa, Horsey
23 August: Monkey
26 August: Pixie
27 August: MrsRhubarb
3 September: bluepigoon
11 September: ToffeeAppleMarsBar

And we have our first tester tomorrow! Good luck Sunflower!!

I've had such a stressful day at work.. Made me hope even more that I can wave goodbye to it all for a while in 9 months time!!

Sunflower86 · 13/08/2015 19:05

Ah sorry for all the typos, was hastily typing at work. No update now other than its slowed and i feel more stabby pain than normal crampy but could be just deluded optimism. Will let you know tomorrow morns result but its technically still a week too early anyway. Im just impatient...

xmaslisa · 13/08/2015 14:41

I have cramping and bloatedness today, not huge pmt either we will soon see...

xmaslisa · 13/08/2015 14:40

Oooo sunflower could it be implantation bleeding? If you get that it can be just before AF is due? x

Sunflower86 · 13/08/2015 13:57

Updste today. Bad stomach cramps and have what seems like AFs visit, but its 6 days early. I caved in and told my sister whos a midwife, she said it might be nothing to worry about and could still be good news. Im going to POAS early and do one tomorrow but not holding my breather. The dates just seem all wrong for AF. Very confusing

Bluepigoon · 13/08/2015 10:11

Hi all, can I join too? My stats are:

Name: bluepigoon
Age:32
Cycle: #3 (had a very early mc in cycle #1 and cycle went from 30 days to 40 afterwards, so working out ov and testing dates has become a bit tricky!)
Testing: probably around 3rd Sep.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 13/08/2015 09:50

Hello other new-joiners, Horsey and Rhubarb!

Man, I'm no where near this month's fertility window but I'm already nervous for the agonising wait that lies ahead. 100% agree that things like this just make you hyper-sensitive to what your body is doing. I always feel like that when I go and give blood. Because you're doing something you're worried (or in baby making case, hoping!) is going to result in some body changes - you're hyper aware of what your body is doing.

My AF is starting to trail off her little visit so looking forward to a little bump and grind with Mr ToffeeApple! Got to get a bit of practice in before the magical fertile window, right?

Happy to distract anyone in their TWW with chatter :D

Sunflower86 · 13/08/2015 07:17

Rhubarb let me know how you get on as I'm feeling similar symptoms. A bit crampy, very bloated and some very light but continuous spotting. I don't really suffer from PMS normally so dont feel like this is a normal month. If it is good news next week hope everything is ok, ill make a trip to the gp either way.

Horsey21 · 13/08/2015 07:07

Lily I was on the pill for over ten years and my periods came back really regularly right from month 1. I was really shocked and impressed with myself that my body knew what to do! So fingers crossed your body does the same, I'm hopeful Smile

xmaslisa · 13/08/2015 00:01

Lily you're just amazingly organised!! I love it! Grin

xmaslisa · 13/08/2015 00:01

Kat.. Having strange twinges too... Mostly on the left, I'm really not sure if it's anything other than normal tho but Dr Google must be sick of me by now!
