Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

*chrochet since I apparently can't spell.

I am really struggling not to POAS this month as I had a 1 hour bleed yesterday and though AF was here, ridiculously early and then it stopped and I had 2 drops of blood this morning then nothing. So I am really hoping that was an implantation bleed.

I have a cake to make for a leaving do at work tomorrow (just out the oven now), I am off into town to meet up with a friend and I need to crocket a shawl to cover my shoulders for our wedding in Italy in 2 weeks. I got over halfway and discovered a mistake and had to rip it back to about 1/6th done. Plus I have work Thursday and Friday. That should keep me reasonably out of mischief. We don't have many plans for this weekend though, so that may make the time drag. If it is good weather I will go out tot he allotment and plant some spinach (somewhat late this year) and if not I think I may reorganise the spare room.

Pixie1988 · 26/08/2015 18:51

Yes definitely brenna! Got an
Busy weekend with working 14 hour days, so don't really have time to think about it, but when it's my day off and I'm trying to relax my mind goes into overdrive. I've even downloaded jigsaw puzzle game and when I find myself getting frustrated I play that lol. How do you keep yourself
Busy? X

Brenna24 · 26/08/2015 18:17

Sunday test date here too. I'll keep you distracted if you keep me distracted.

Pixie1988 · 26/08/2015 18:00

Hi ladies and welcome woody!

Af should be due any day now, don't know how long they are as only had one since coming off contraception. Today is day 28. Trying to hold out and not test until Sunday. I hate waiting!! ????

Brenna24 · 26/08/2015 10:33

Hi Woody. Welcome to the club :D Best of luck.

Woody096 · 26/08/2015 10:21

Hi Ladies!

I hope you don't mind me joining the group. my oh & I are trying for baby #1. This will be our first month.

I am 30 yrs old, married for 18 months. I have bought some ovulation strips as my cycle is anything between 28 - 40 days.

We haven't told anyone we are trying as like many of you my family would go nuts with excitement. But I really like this thread & wish you all the best ????

Brenna24 · 26/08/2015 10:03

My cycles appear to have gone haywire since starting TTC. Normally I was between 28 and 32 days, normally 30 or 31. NEVER less than 28. I get bad cramps and abdominal bloating before AF. The first month TTC I had very tender boobs before AF, which I have NEVER had before. Second month was a bit more normal but this month I had killer sore boobs from Sunday until now, I thought AF started yesterday about 6pm. I had some blood between 6 and 7, then it kind of stopped again. 2 drops so far today. Yesterday was only day 26. I think DTD regularly is sending my hormones haywire.

Lou13e · 26/08/2015 09:51

haha - sunflower.. I'm totally the same, I'm obsessed with the science behind our bodies, I paid loads more attention to my body this month and got so excited when I saw what my body was doing, isn't it strange that are bodies have been doing this for years but we never actually notice, eg the whole egg white stuff. Clever huh!

ren2903 · 26/08/2015 07:40

Hi All,

I've been locked out for days on here!

Congratulations to Horsey.

And Lilly, so true enjoy the wine and naughties and you never know!

No change for me, still 10 days away from any test.

Did briefly speak to my doctor while i was there for something else and she said my light short period might have been because I didn't release an egg my first cycle. It may take time for my body to get back to normal.

So obviously id like a positive but if I get a good normal AF at least I know my eggs are back! Smile

XL · 25/08/2015 23:52

Awww sorry Lily at least you can enjoy your hols tho! They say it's more likely to happen when you're relaxed on holiday so fx for you! x

XL · 25/08/2015 23:51

Hi sunflower ditto! I'm def at risk of becoming obsessed! I have my opks from Amazon Grin I also couldn't give a rats about most other trivial stuff either.... Funny isn't it! Here's good luck to us all for September!! x

Sunflower86 · 25/08/2015 21:30

Oh Im sorry Lily, but its good to look at the positives and wine on holiday is definitely one of them. Heres to the cycle 2 club for some bfps.

Thanks for info XL, I did some googling and lots of people report that they conceived ok so fingers crossed. Maybe ill tilt in odd directions to help gravity out!

Ive definitely lost track of our group dates, no thanks to the hacking business too keeping us out. I caved and ordered lots of opks online just for fun (I know Im weird) but think it might be coming up anyway as Im trying to pay attention to signs. Fingers crossed things are back to normal with a 30 day cycle this month (rather than my random 20!). Been reading up about the science and its very interesting with all the dates and phases through the month and how conception actually works in detail. I risk becoming a little obsessed. The odd benefit Im finding during ttc is that trivial work stress is bothering me less as for the first time in my like I feel like its not the be all and end all of everything. Anyone else feeling like that?

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 25/08/2015 18:56

Looks like I'm out this month - had another BFN this morning and I think AF has just started Sad Oh well.. hopefully having a longer cycle this month (34 days) has pushed forward my fertile window so it fits nicely with our holiday. I'll be eating lots of soft cheese, drinking lots of wine and getting down to business with DH in our nice hotel room - trying to think of the positives!!

DH was so disappointed dear of him - he had a day off from work today so spent loads of time reading up on cycles, positions, techniques.. he's probably spent the day on mumsnet!!

Got my fingers crossed for everyone else on the thread :)

Lou13e · 25/08/2015 18:16

Hi everyone, I'm so glad the mn is back up and running again, anyone got any news?

I'm symptom spotting like a loon, felt this really strange fluttering feeling down there the other day, can only describe it as like a fluttery butterfly? Guess it's all down to the 2ww now :-)

XL · 25/08/2015 17:15

Never used this on a pc always on phone...

Going to start again next week! Shock
Good luck bluepigoon! Fx

Lou13e · 24/08/2015 14:55

Ohh you've got me wondering about my uterus now?! I haven't got a clue which way mine points.

How is everyone today? Does anyone access this on a PC? I want to copy and paste our names and test dates list thing but can't do it on my iPhone for some reason.

My opk line was much fainter today so looks like I've ovulated (fingers crossed) going to DTD today and maybe tomorrow then it's the lovely 2ww. Hope everyone else is ok x

Bluepigoon · 24/08/2015 07:06

Congratulations Horsey!

I think I ovulated sooner than I thought I would, so I'm going to test tomorrow morning, which is when AF should have been due before my mc a couple of months ago sent my cycle crazy. I've had a few symptoms, so keeping my fingers crossed!

XL · 24/08/2015 00:29

Hi sunflower I have a retroverted uterus which tilts backwards. I'm told it shouldn't affect fertility but can sometimes make conception maybe a little trickier. I haven't always had it, just since I had the fibroids and endometriosis. I think some people just have it for no reason tho, shouldn't cause any problems x

XL · 24/08/2015 00:24

Yay! Way To go lou13e! Fx for you chick x

XL · 24/08/2015 00:24

Wow!! Congratulations horsey!! That's amazing! Here's to the first bfp of the thread and to a healthy pregnancy! xFlowers

Brenna24 · 24/08/2015 00:22

Congratulations Horsey.

Sorry, Sunflower, no idea.

Lily, mine is a rescue too, this one is from the Dog's Trust. I got him when he was 4 and I had a second dog at the time too, who we have since lost to old age.

Sunflower86 · 23/08/2015 21:55

Also, side note, after keeping still and a bit upside down this pm to let gravity help matters it got my thinking about that side of things and remembered that when ive had smears and a failed attempt at a coil fitting in the past theyve had real trouble accessing my cervix! (Ive also never been able to find it myself either) like its round a corner or something! During the coil fitting they said I have an inverted uterus (tilts forwards not back or vice versa) which shouldnt affect pregnancy and its meant to move into place when needed but not sure about conception. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Sunflower86 · 23/08/2015 21:42

Congratulations horsey!!

Sorry for being away this last week. Went camping to a land with no network. Was nice and peaceful at least. Did the official test on the 18th and was a resounding BFN so treated myself to a drink while away. Short cycle means we have started trying again early this month. Not doing any opk testing but looking for cm signs and think it changed a little today so will just try every day (maybe every other day) for the next fortnight to hedge our bets! Also spoke to my doctor about the strange early AF and he said it could just be hormone fluctuations (couldnt say why though) not very helpful at all. Suggested I get a smear just in case but Im overdue one anyway so its a good reminder. Will book in that fun tomorrow. Hope to hear some more bfps from the group soon.

Pixie1988 · 23/08/2015 17:52

Congratulations!!

Hope one of many more to come on this thread. Good luck all x x
