Hi any new starters on clomid
I just started my first round of clomid 50mg (3-7) had my scan on day 12 , two mature follicles on right and small one on left.
Had no side effects from taking clomid, but ovulation was so painful that I could hardly walk.

Would love to hear from other people there experience on clomid ..

Been trying for 3 years, miscarriage last year at 4 months, I do ovulate but not enough to substation a pregnancy, hence the clomid .hubby is fine with his sperm.. Am levels are low as well

I think I'm 4 weeks next week but I will wait until end of the month as well and then take the tablets. How long did you take them for last time?

Are you going anywhere nice on holiday?

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 13:18

Oh Vixx, that would be really nice Grin Let me know when you are going to start the prog pills. 4 weeks for me will be 28th August and 5 weeks will be 4th September. I get back from holiday on 3rd Sept, but if you're going to start them 28th, I could always take some pills on holiday with me x x

VixxFace · 17/08/2015 12:54

I have been taking noristephene the last 2 cycles too!

It is so frustrating isn't it. Thanks for the link I will check it out.

I am going to do 150 mg so we can be cycle buddies if you want? No idea when my period is due so will Also have to take the pills.

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 12:23

Vixx I don't have periods, so I have no idea! It's rubbish isn't it? I just feel so useless. I'm just waiting for the hospital to call back this afternoon to see what they say, but I also found this online and if you scroll down, you'll see it has a step-by-step guide to taking clomid, which is clear and really useful because of all the juggling around of dates and other tracking we have to contend with! www.leedsth.nhs.uk/a-z-of-services/leeds-centre-for-reproductive-medicine/about-your-condition/treatment-information/ovulation-induction/

It advises that if a period doesn't arrive from between 4-5 weeks after taking the clomid, then to do a pregnancy test (which will obviously be negative) and then start to take the progesterone tablets again to induce a bleed. I took my last clomid tablet on the 31st, so 4-5 weeks from then for me will be around the end of August, beginning of September. I get back from holiday on the 3rd, so might start it again when I get back. x x x

VixxFace · 17/08/2015 12:10

Ah Eskimo sorry to hear that. I understand how you feel.

When is af due so you can start the 150 mg? I am going to do the same.

eskimoflo · 17/08/2015 11:43

Just called the hospital in the hope that they'd have my results from Friday. They had. The clomid didn't work again- my progesterone level was 2. I've had a cry and DH has given me lots of hugs. Just feeling absolutely rubbish now. The hospital are going to give me a call back this afternoon, hopefully with next steps. Sad Sad Sad Is anyone else on 150mg of clomid? I think that's what they will suggest next.

coribeth · 17/08/2015 00:42

Wow 275 for clomid we had to pay 440 but that does include a day 2 and day 10 scan I've been told iui is 1000 and ivf is 8000 so if clomid doesn't work for us iui would be our only option as ivf is to expensive!

coribeth · 17/08/2015 00:15

Moomin :Yeah I know what you mean about the insomnia symptoms but I've been on nights so in some ways that has been an advantage lol the hot flushing and looking like I've just been in a sauna fully clothed for an hour not so much keep having to explain to my patients! Hopefully it will be all worth while in the end when we get that BFP!

Moomin37 · 15/08/2015 22:03

Aww eskimoflo thank you Flowers I will keep popping back to this thread to see how you're doing - hope the blood tests confirm ovulation and you get your BFP soon Smile

Coribeth thank you so much for your good wishes Smile and sorry to hear you had a rough time on Clomid - sounds like it was very scary Sad I've had real trouble sleeping the past couple of weeks and had put it down to dress at work, but I'm beginning to think the Clomid is to blame. I have also struggled to cope with the pressure more than I normally would - I'm usually pretty resilient and determined (my husband described me as being 'in pieces' last week - yikes I didn't think I was that bad!!).

eskimoflo · 15/08/2015 10:28

Thanks for the wishes everyone Smile

Vixx Please keep us updated with how things go. Don't disappear! Clomid is £275 per cycle? Wow!

Moomin Same goes for you- I have shared at least two different threads with you now, and would love to know when you get your BFP! Grin

CD21 for me. Yawn.

VixxFace · 14/08/2015 09:27

Eskimo good luck for this morning. Let us know how you get on, hope it's positive news.

I had my last clomid scan today and they said it doesn't work for me. I have some tablets at home so will take 150 by myself and wait for my pre ivf appointment in September.

In my area the clomid is 275 a cycle and iui is 700. But ivf is 3 rounds free which is good.

MummyKnight · 14/08/2015 01:29

My mum had clomid so she could have me. I'm all for it! Good luck Grin

coribeth · 14/08/2015 01:20

Jackster sorry to hear AF arrived however progesterone levels sound great so fingers crossed and better luck next time!

coribeth · 14/08/2015 01:18

Moomin sad to hear the side effects were to much weird how it effects some people more than others, I had some horrendous ones the first day actually considered calling an ambulance for a moment there but they settled to a manageable level after about 5 mins felt a lot longer at time! Happy to say have been fine since good luck on your next step hope all goes well and you get your BFP!

Moomin37 · 13/08/2015 20:39

Hey Eskimoflo thanks for asking after me Smile I had blurred vision and flashing lights. Next step is gonadotropin ovulation induction (injections) - this counts as one of my three IVF cycles. A bit in shock as was hoping the lap and dye / Clomid would do the trick (saying that it's all still to play for this month!), but I'm not messing with my vision.

Good luck for your blood tests Flowers I'm still going to get my day 21 test done to see if I ovulated (I wasn't offered scans). Thank you for being lovely and I wish you all the best x.

eskimoflo · 13/08/2015 20:26

Pear Your scan sounds really promising! I am currently CD19 and we DTD CD10, CD11, CD13, CD14, CD16 and yesterday which was CD18. I got a static smiley on a CB dual hormone indicator on CD13, but I don't trust OPKs as I've had positives before and never actually ovulated, so we've just kept DTD EOD and hopefully will keep it up until I get the results of my blood tests and can decide whether or not to carry on! x x

eskimoflo · 13/08/2015 20:22

Hi all, haven't been on for a while as I haven't had anything to report.

Vixx You asked if they were going to scan me after this round of clomid; the answer is no. Sad When I went for my initial consultation, and got put on the 50 mg dose, I did ask if they would scan me, but the consultant said not. Then, when that dose didn't work and they upped it to 100mg, that was all done over the phone and they didn't say anything about a scan, just CD21 blood tests again on this cycle. Tomorrow is CD20 and I have the blood test booked in for 9.45. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know what the next step for you is. Flowers Why will the iui be self funded?

Jackster Congratulations on the progesterone score- 82 is great! I know the witch turned up, but you must be relieved that you are ovulating? From the three progesterone tests that I've had, my scores have been 3, 3 and 1 Blush so if I'm told next week that I've ovulated and then I actually had a real period, (which I haven't had since I went on the pill when I was 16) I would be over the moon!

Moomin Flowers Flowers If you don't mind me asking, what side effects did you have, and what is the next treatment? Did you get OHSS? Hope you're ok x x

Still got my fingers crossed for everyone on here.

Peardrops3 · 13/08/2015 20:18

Hi Ladies

@Jackstar sorry AF arrived :(
@bananafish sorry about the lining and hope that AF arrives soon so you can start your next round.

I had my 4th scan today and it was actually good news for once! my lining has thickened from 6.5mm to 8.55mm and i finally have a dominant follicle at 14mm BUT im Day 17! but doc says they predict i will ovulate over the weekend so fingers crossed! going in for the blood test and another scan to confirm on Monday.

i have also been using the cbfm but it just keeps saying low even today... but yet scans show it should be high fertility so a little confused!

x

Moomin37 · 13/08/2015 19:33

Well after one round of Clomid I need to bid you all farewell and good luck as I won't be taking any more. Had side effects and therefore progressing to the next treatment. One more step along the fertility journey we go... Hope you all get some good news soon Smile Flowers

bananafish81 · 13/08/2015 18:20

I'm 6dpo and just want the witch to bloody arrive so we can get on with things. My scan showed my lining was likely too thin to be able to support implantation, so I'm not expecting anything to happen - just want to get on with having my day 3 bloods redone! DH and I will both have our virology bloods done at the same time - got a letter from the consultant advising which IVF protocol he's recommending, and getting all the HFEA forms sent through.

I bought a bloody 6 month supply of Inofolic (inositol + Folic acid) as it was cheaper than continuing to buy the tablets.

It's brilliant for PCOS - as I'm no longer presenting as PCOS and being treated as a low responder, it's best I stop taking inositol (as I'm about to start DHEA and the two work against each other!). It's just going to sit there unused - cost me £100 but I can't return it so if anyone wants it then I'll happily send it to them for the cost of postage. Would be happy if it went to a good home Smile

bananafish81 · 13/08/2015 18:06

I got a high reading on the last day of my clomid too! I didn't ovulate till a week later - I think I read that clearblue recommend you start testing only 3 days after your last pill to avoid false highs, but as the Cbfm was asking me to test and it didn't know I'd taken clomid I just fed it sticks when it asked! I got my peak at exactly the right time though (day after I triggered - so it def was a correct peak, albeit a lot of days of high preceding it...

Jackster123 · 13/08/2015 18:04

@coribeth....the same happened to me this month when using the advance monitor on cd6 I automatically got a high, then high the following day, doctor said I wouldn't need it this month as with scan mid cycle will tell me when I was going to ovulate and timed intercourse ....but will probably use it this cycle as I'm not being monitored, let me know if you continue to use it

OP posts:
birchygoo · 13/08/2015 17:19

Coribeth fingers crossed everything goes well this cycle for you.

Jack - I'm sorry af arrived :-( did you have mid cycle scans and blood tests?

I'm on cd7 now so took my last clomid last night. Have ha a few hot flushes today. Nothing major just feels like I'm getting embarrassed which I use to do a lot when I was younger.

I use the advanced cbfm and it read a high reading today for me. Is that not very early? Would clomid be giving me a fake early reading?

Jackster123 · 13/08/2015 17:02

Well my wait wasn't that long, the witch is here......round 2 of clomid..

OP posts:
Jackster123 · 13/08/2015 15:11

Well today af is meant to show her ugly face, nothing so far ...but not gonna get my hopes up as I know clomid can delay your period.....hate waiting

So how is every one getting on with clomid/scans/progesterone blood test..
