Clomid

Hi Jackster, sorry you are not well :( Might not be your period? It's strange they didnt give you the injection but for me, I am not sure there was any point. According to my temperature charting I ovulated the evening they gave it to me (to trigger an ovulation 36 hours later). I am 4dpo and only today stopped having constant dull abdominal pain. I was worried and called the nurse but she didnt seem concerned and said the clomid dose and injection wouldnt trigger pain so maybe it's just that I had a stronger ovulation. I am glad it's gone now.

It's good that you are ovulating. If I do two cycles and dont conceive I will start IVF too (ICSI). I'm going on holiday next cycle so if I dont conceive this cycle I wont be monitored...at least I will save money. Good luck with your next cycle and get well.

I had a third scan today on CD20. I have one follicle at 17.3mm and a smaller one at 13.5mm. I was given the injection to trigger ovulation in 36 hours. Anyone else around ovulation now? Good luck all!

Thanks Jackster123. I hope its a good size. I am still ovulating late even with Clomid though. It will be day 21. I normally ovulate about cd28 or a few days earlier.

Hello again. I had a second scan today (CD18) that showed one follicle at 14mm size on my left ovary. I was told to come back on Friday morning for a third scan and that I will probably ovulate in a few days. I was also told about the injection they give that makes you ovulate in 36 hours. If I am due to ovulate in a few days anyway, is there any help/point in this injection? Has anyone had it? I ask because I have to pay but also because I wonder about its (side) effects. Thank you.

Well Clomid didn't work for me - I had BFNs in CD26, 27 and 28. However, despite my first cycle being 381 days due to hypothalamic amenorrhea, I am amazed to say AF arrived on CD28 today :) DH says it's the Clomid that made AF turn up, but I'm not sure about that. I'm hoping that I'll get my day 21 tests results next week - it will be interesting to see if I did manage to ovulate. So on I go to the injectable gonadotropins. I will keep popping back to check in progress and hoping to see more BFPs here soon :)

Coribeth I will ask about whether we are on a package, I dont think we are. What injectables? The nurse told me last week (I think?)that if they see you are nearing ovulation they give you an injection to ovulate in the next 36 hours. I wondered what the point was? Maybe I misunderstood. I was really unprepared last time and didnt ask enough questions.

Hello, my DH and I have been ttc for two years. I was diagnosed with pcos last April. DH semen analysis was all good and I've been waiting ages for Clomid! Decided to go private in the end. Yesterday I was prescribed Provera (5mg) for five days then (10mg) for five days. Then to take Clomid on days 2-6. I'm so excited I cried when he gave me the prescription as I was so happy! I have 3 months of clomid (50mg) and told to go back in 3 months time if I'm not pregnant by then. I asked if I'd have scans or anything but he said no, it doesn't really matter. I'd be so so grateful for any advice on provera/Clomid and also any success stories. I'm 29 and DH is 33. Thank you so much in advance. Emma x

Arty are you paying for each scan separate? We just bought a package which covered follicle tracking scans the consultant appt and the Clomid which was £440 altogether, if af arrives then have to go see consultant as they don't really want me using Clomid again due to side affects I had said would probably have to go on to injectables dread to think how much they will cost!

Thanks for the welcome Coribeth and Birchygoo! Yes, I have seen online that the follicles grow 1-2mm a day so I am wondering what the point is of going back next Wednesday if I may have ovulated by then. The scans are so expensive!

yehh ..I never told dh the price :-/ I bought it on a depressed whim one day when AF arrived!

Coribeth I got my cbfm in boots an it cost 120 could have cried at the price. If I was buying it now I would get it second hand from eBay or something - I had visions of other people's pee over it but you insert the opposite end of the stick (the part you hold) into the machine.
I do find its easy to flood the sticks so do have to pee and dip every morning.

Welcome arty lucky you on the no side affects front! When I went for scan they told me follicles can grow by 2mm a day they said I had about 5 @ less than 10mm then went back 3days later and was told I had one at 20mm so I guess there is no hard and fast rules everyone is different!

Hi all, I have PCOS and took Clomid days 2-6 for the first time this cycle. Went for my scan today on CD11 and..well I didnt take note of the follicle sizes..but do remember the nurse saying one on my right was 8mm so nowhere near ovulating. I am going back next Wednesday for another scan as she said they grow at about 1mm/day and should be nearing ovulation by then. I had no symptoms from taking Clomid as I took it at night. Will watch out for the drying of cm then...lots of Preseed help??
