Looking for like-minded mums to be who are taking things as they come and fancy a friendly chat along the way.

I'm 36 and just started ttc my second. My ds is 28 mo and I still bf him once a day, most days. I understand this may affect my fertility but, although a three-ish year age gap would be nice, I'm a long way from worrying about it at this early stage. It took me a year of trying (and a mc) before ds came along so I already know what it's like to wait for good things!

Technically I'm not charting or anything (wouldn't know how) just counting roughly 10 days into my cycle and dtd as much as reasonable (!) around that time.

It might not be the most dynamic way of ttc but it suits me for now Smile

I hope it's nothing serious jorah and that the pain goes away, but if it gets worse, please go and get checked out.

As for me, well I think I may be out this month. I'm spotting. It usually happens a day or two before AF. Gutted, but until Af appears in full force, then i'll hold on to my little ray of hope...

goldensunlight · 28/08/2015 14:27

Hopefully the pain will go and it will all be ok :) But, if the pain gets worse please go back to get checked out.

jorahmormont · 28/08/2015 13:13

No positive test yet, it was just based on the fact that we DTD this month, at the right time, AF is late and the location of the pain.

goldensunlight · 28/08/2015 12:11

Hi Jorah,

I have experience of an ectopic. If the doctor is serious about suspecting you may have an ectopic pregnancy I don't think that turning down further investigations is a good idea. An ectopic pregnancy is a medical emergency which can have very serious consequences. PLEASE get checked out if pain gets worse or you have any bleeding.
Have you had a positive pregnancy test?

jorahmormont · 28/08/2015 11:45

Congrats Anna

Went to the doctors about something unrelated this morning and she thinks I've either got appendicitis or an ectopic. Not sure which I'd rather really :( I declined to go onto the surgical ward to be observed while it's mild but if it gets worse I've got to go back in.

Has anyone got any experience of an ectopic? If it is, how long will we have to wait to try again?

Tamara160 · 28/08/2015 11:31

Congratulations Anna! Very exciting news!

Welcome FuzzyOwl! Love the name by the way!

I'm so nervous for testing tomorrow. I half don't want to test because then I can live in hope that I may be pregnant, but I do want to test because it's driving me nuts not knowing! Confused

How have you got on Pandora?

obsessedlex · 28/08/2015 09:45

OOOh congrats Anna Envy Blush very happy for you x

AnnaC82 · 28/08/2015 08:02

Definite BFP with CB digital for me this morning!
Fx for you Lex - I was convinced I was pg nearly 2 weeks ago, got my first hint of a positive this Wednesday after doing tests for a week!
Good luck to everyone else :-)

obsessedlex · 28/08/2015 07:18

Really reebok
I'll give it a few days then, thank you - fx for you x

Reebok · 27/08/2015 23:34

Lex when is AF due? Clear blue will only work once hormones are high enough. When I was pregnant with my LO I got negatives with clear blue until I was a week late. You are better off trying something like first response or even the super drugs brand.

Getting cramps again and keep worrying. Hoping this one will stick. Still haven't gone to the gp. Don't have the nerves to go yet.

Congrats to those with a bfp! Seems like one after the other here! Good luck to those still waiting on it! Baby dust to all!

FuzzyOwl · 27/08/2015 23:18

Hi, can I join you? Am 36 and just started AF in my first cycle ttc number two.

Tamara160 · 27/08/2015 23:17

Dubai - I bought some from the internet, but a fair few of my friends use them and have always been accurate. One of them said that the docs use these particular ones too (Not sure if it's true though!) I do have a clear blue one though that i'm saving for sat.

Hmm there's hope for you yet Lex and Pandora! FX for you both!

I don't seem to have many symptoms either but i'm not writing myself off until AF makes an appearance! I'm still trying to convince myself that there's a chance!

Lex - some women don't get a BFP for a week or more after they're due, so maybe give it a few days and then try again?

obsessedlex · 27/08/2015 23:04

Well I braved it and poas on the clear blue and got a bfn! Still no AF and feel just different - I was so sure that I was pg, I know we've only just started tycoon but feel a bit depressed about it as it was so quick last time.

beckslovestimmy · 27/08/2015 21:01

I'm hoping thats the case lost! Just going to see what happens for the next couple of months and if no luck by xmas I'll probably just go and have a chat with my GP. I've not long had the mirena coil removed so still no real idea about cycle length at the mo.

jorahmormont · 27/08/2015 20:18

So no AF yet.

Feeling nauseous, dizzy, very run down. Feels like the start of a UTI.

Last time I felt like this I was up the duff.

There's no way I'd be having symptoms this early though is there?

MrsHughes25 · 27/08/2015 16:31

Well I don't get it.
The phones are down at my doctors so my dad called in for me.
Told them I'm pregnant & want to start antenatal care, would they contact me.
They can't, & told him the midwife is "too busy" anyway.
I sent him back in because I need to be seen & I have an appointment with her next week?

I'm so confused lol!

I'm now BFP on 5/5 tests so surely I'm pregnant lol x

obsessedlex · 27/08/2015 16:08

Ooh really lostindubai I'll check thanks.

I'm still too scared to test though, if she's going to turn up, AF, I'd rather that to confirm that I'm going mad reading too much into symptoms!

MrsHughes I remember the midwife seeming so totally uninterested until I was about about 16 weeks! Even though you feel like the first person in the world ever to be pregnant I guess its same old day after day for them! I remember being most upset that they weren't as over the moon excited as we were!

lostindubai · 27/08/2015 16:02

Hi becks. You might have a completely different experience this time. Your body knows what to do now Wink my first ds took a year to conceive- this time I got pg first time trying.

Thanks Tamara. I hope so too!

Lex if you read the clear blue instructions I don't think you have to use fmu if you're on your due date for AF.

Can I ask why people buy cheap tests off the Internet? From what I've read they can be really inaccurate and increase anxiety. I've only ever used clear blue but then I never thought it was expensive tbh.

MrsHughes I wish I could help! I've no idea under the circumstances you describe. Perhaps you'll be offered an earlier scan to try and get the dates sooner? Re your first midwife appt - don't you have to see your GP first? I won't see my midwife until the booking in appt (after referral from gp) although I've already had a letter with my scan appointment.

Just changed my username - hello!

lexb14 · 27/08/2015 15:20

Wow, so many BFP's congratulations all.

AF due yesterday or today but no sign yet.... and typically before AF arrives I normally have a bit of brownish spotting normally but haven't this month.

I did a couple of internet cheapie tests both BFN's one last week and one the week before.

But I still have symptoms - sore boobs, exhausted but can't sleep, v hungry, feel a bit nauseous but eating makes me feel better, but I am too scared to test again and be disappointed with another negative Hmm Confused

I bought a clear blue non digital one but can;t bring myself to test - also I always seem to have to go for a couple of half asleep wees in the night and so my fmu isn't really my fmu, could this have been the problem with my earlier tests?

This is only my first cycle, but its horrendous, i'm finding it so hard to think about anything else! Blush

darkpandora · 27/08/2015 14:53

Omg congrats to all of the BFP's!! This is so exciting so many of you! I'm so happy for you all x

Welcome to all newbies nice to have you join us I hope you all get your BFP's very soon

To everyone still waiting I hope your wait isn't very long and we can all be on the grads thread celebrating together soon

AF is due tomorrow I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant this time round as only symptom I seem to have is really really sore nipples(tmi) but there's always hope especially with so many BFP's Smile

jorahmormont · 27/08/2015 12:13

It's hard to tell, esp if you had a withdrawal bleed from the pill rather than a period. If you go from the day of fresh blood on the 30th, you're exactly four weeks :)

I'm a bit rubbish on the early bits as I didn't find out with DD until I was 6/7 weeks!

MrsHughes25 · 27/08/2015 11:33

Brilliant name Jorah haha!

Ok, so would I be right in thinking I'm 4 weeks?
First baby- nervous mommy lol x

jorahmormont · 27/08/2015 11:28

First midwife appointment - don't expect an awful lot MrsHughes, you tell them you're pregnant and they'll arrange your booking in appointment for 9/10 weeks and that's basically it from what I remember.
