Looking for like-minded mums to be who are taking things as they come and fancy a friendly chat along the way.

I'm 36 and just started ttc my second. My ds is 28 mo and I still bf him once a day, most days. I understand this may affect my fertility but, although a three-ish year age gap would be nice, I'm a long way from worrying about it at this early stage. It took me a year of trying (and a mc) before ds came along so I already know what it's like to wait for good things!

Technically I'm not charting or anything (wouldn't know how) just counting roughly 10 days into my cycle and dtd as much as reasonable (!) around that time.

It might not be the most dynamic way of ttc but it suits me for now Smile

Hi all

Well AF has arrived today so that's me out for another month. Will put a bottle of wine in the fridge ready for the weekend as I know I can drink it now. Every cloud and all that. Feeling a bit down as thought we might have done it this month. Cycle was shorter than previous months so hopefully it's settling back into a proper rhythm now. Ah well, into month 9/10 we go. Hope everyone is doing well. Smile

Tamara160 · 14/09/2015 19:19

I know what you mean, I constantly wonder if we've dtd enough. As far as i'm aware you can't as the egg only lasts up to 24 hours I think. Sometimes people ovulate later than they think so it's probably worth dtd every few days for a while after just in case.

How far into the 2ww are you? I enter it tomorrow.

A little advice here would be great... I seem to have picked up a water infection. Does anyone know if you're able to take anything when ttc? I'm drinking cranberry juice by the gallon at the mo trying to flush it out.

Annarose2014 · 14/09/2015 10:44

I'm currently in the 2WW for Cycle 2. We did a good bit better in the shagathon stakes but I still have my doubts it was enough.

In a way this whole "fertile window" thing is making me more worried, not less. I tend to disregard the times we DTD in the run up to it as being ineffective, obsess over how many times we DTD during it, and then once its over I feel disheartened and don't make half the effort to DTD.

For example right now its Day 25 of 35 and my brain says "well its too late now, isnt it?" Am I incorrect? Can you still conceive after your fertile window is over or not?

Tamara160 · 10/09/2015 22:46

Haha I know what you mean Millie, I thought I would be relaxed too, and I am mostly, but the last few days before I tested it was all I could think about!! There's still time for you yet!

I'm apparently in the fertile window at the mo so DH and I are busy dtd, much to his delight! Hopefully this will be our month! I'm hoping that with me being so busy with work that it'll take the edge off the obsession a little. It seems to have worked so far, as I hadn't realised I was in the fertile window until late last night!

Can't believe - welcome! Yes it is a gamble! I would bet that if you started trying now just in case that you would get a BFP lol!

MillieMoodle · 09/09/2015 18:12

Tamara - your idea of holding on a bit longer before testing is a fantastic one but unfortunately my willpower has totally deserted me and I have tested far too many times in the last few days. I even bought a frer today and despite telling myself in the car that I should wait at least another two days, I used it as soon as I got in Blush. According to Ovia I have 4 days to wait before I should test. Oops and aargh.
I am not as relaxed about this whole ttc malarky as I thought I was or would like to be.

cantbelieveimonhere · 08/09/2015 20:54

dd 1 and would like 2.5 year gap (if such things can be planned?!) between children. it took 10 months before becoming pregnant with 1st child. so thinking of starting a bit earlier than 9 months before 2.5 years age gap. have heard a lot about secondary infertility. although ?it is a "gamble" starting "early" as may end up with shorter gap between children.
decisions, decisions!!!

Tamara160 · 08/09/2015 17:30

The tww is awful Millie! Try and hold out a bit longer! When are you due to test?

Deeca - Sorry to hear that, don't count yourself out until AF arrives though.

As for me, fertile window apparently starts from tomorrow so DH and I are busy dtd. I'm hoping the tww won't be as bad as last month now i'm back at work so i'll be busy all the time. Fingers crossed for this month!

How is everyone else getting on?

DeccaMitford · 08/09/2015 16:57

After a week away with no internet (I know!) I can report I had 10 consecutive days of flashing smiling faces on my dual hormone opk and no solid one at all so looks like no ov for me this month and all dtd was in vain (well mostly, iykwim!) Hey-ho, back to the drawing board next month I guess.

MillieMoodle · 08/09/2015 08:48

Well I lost you all cos of this poxy mobile site! Nothing to report really. Still got sore boobs (have stopped grabbing/poking them). Had a few twinges here and there in the pelvic region. Feeling tired but no more than usual. Think I'm 8dpo today. Have tested again (I know, I know, too early). Aargh, the tww is driving me insane!

Reebok · 05/09/2015 09:01

Hi all, popping on to see how you all are.

Good luck cake and Millie. If it helps Millie, dh and I only did it twice and I had no idea when I ovulated as had mc but I'm pregnant. So anything is possible!

Jorah, I'm sorry to hear that. Fx they can take care of the cysts.

Mrs Hughes, I know what you mean about the sickness. I've been vomiting and the only way to control it is to go on sickness Meds like I did with dd. It has calmed the vomiting a bit but I'm still constantly nauseous and unable to eat pretty much everything. If it's bad, see about going on Meds? No other advice I'm afraid.

goldensunlight · 05/09/2015 08:55

|I'm sorry to hear that jorah - but your plan sounds sensible.

Af came right on time yesterday so on to cycle 4 for us. Onwards and upwards! Have a good weekend ladies

jorahmormont · 05/09/2015 08:34

Confirmed a cyst on my ovary, looking likely that I have endometriosis :( my appendix is a bit iffy too though. Think we're going to take a break from TTC, re evaluate the situation in six months when we know if they're likely to take it out or not. Bit gutted but glad they've spotted it while I'm young :)

Best of luck chilled out TTCers, I'll be back in a few months, by which point you'll all have BFPs I'm sure of it :)

darkpandora · 04/09/2015 18:59

Hey everyone just poking my head in to say hi and see how you are all getting on Smile

CakeLady456 · 04/09/2015 12:02

Lol millie!! Well I'm in the TWW but the likelihood of being preggers must be minimal, shagathon was a bit shorter than planned as argued with the DH and have no symptoms whatsoever!!

MillieMoodle · 03/09/2015 21:05

Hi everyone
Really struggling to keep up without the app! I do not like the mobile site at all . I think I'm about 4dpo and desperately trying not to symptom spot. I've been a bit crampy and have sore boobs, but I suspect my boobs are sore because I keep grabbing them to see if they're sore. I confess to doing an IC test earlier "just in case". Ridiculous.

Hope everyone is doing well. It's nearly the weekend, yay! Smile

MrsHughes25 · 03/09/2015 20:16

Hi ladies! Again it's been a while- the app doesn't want to work for me anymore!

Well, I've had my first midwife today & it's all very exciting.

On the downside I've also had knee surgery & due to being pregnant can only take paracetamol. I'm in a lot of pain & getting about in a wheelchair or on crutches. Feeling sick a lot too :( any tips?

Congrats everyone!

Tamara160 · 03/09/2015 16:30

Definitely! You know you're able to have children so that's a good sign! Has the scan made things any clearer?

jorahmormont · 02/09/2015 22:48

I suppose the fact that we have DD means chances are good that we'll be able to conceive again. And I'm young, that's got to be a good thing right?

lostindubai · 02/09/2015 22:25

Oh jorah Flowers try not to worry. Easy for me to say I know. Hopefully tomorrow will give you some answers. Let us know how it goes x

jorahmormont · 02/09/2015 21:00

Well bugger. Doctors are now thinking rather than appendicitis, it's something along the lines of endometriosis. Scan tomorrow to find out. Freaking out about fertility now :(

lostindubai · 02/09/2015 17:58

Notro the frequent peeing and sore nipples started almost immediately and then the nausea at around 6 weeks.

Hi all, how's everyone? Hope we're all remaining cool, calm and collected? Grin

Reebok · 02/09/2015 17:00

notro I'm not sure as I was run down with an ear infection a week before I got my positive...suppose that was my symptom as with dd I also had a throat infection.

How's everyone else getting on?

darkpandora · 02/09/2015 13:01

notroI'm not entirely sure sorry I was so shocked this month as I didn't think I ovulated because I never saw any signs of ovulation. I did get really sore boobs for quite a while before AF was due I'm sure it started about a week before it was one of the reasons I took a test once I was late.

Waves to everyonehow are you all doing?

Notrobusta · 01/09/2015 14:25

More BFPs . congratulations darkpandora. Those of you who have had your bfp, how long after conception did you start to get symptoms. It's been so long since I had my DS that I can't remember.

FuzzyOwl · 31/08/2015 22:20

Congratulations Pandora.

AF has finished now, so on cycle day seven. Usually ovulate around day 20 but on a family holiday from day 12 to 19, so not really sure I will have any chance this cycle.
