Looking for like-minded mums to be who are taking things as they come and fancy a friendly chat along the way.

I'm 36 and just started ttc my second. My ds is 28 mo and I still bf him once a day, most days. I understand this may affect my fertility but, although a three-ish year age gap would be nice, I'm a long way from worrying about it at this early stage. It took me a year of trying (and a mc) before ds came along so I already know what it's like to wait for good things!

Technically I'm not charting or anything (wouldn't know how) just counting roughly 10 days into my cycle and dtd as much as reasonable (!) around that time.

It might not be the most dynamic way of ttc but it suits me for now Smile

It took me a year to fall first time Aaf (welcome btw!) Went to the Dr and basically it turned out we'd not been dtd at the right times or often enough. A bit too relaxed if you like! I was still under the impression that you could get pregnant by having sex any time even on your period, like they told us at school Hmm

So we changed tactics and started to dtd every other day, making sure we covered day 10 of my cycle (I have a 28 day cycle) and it really didn't take very long after that.

However if you've already been doing all that then I can't see why you shouldn't ask your Dr for advice. But anxiety definitely won't help, so deep breaths and try to be calm. A year to conceive is apparently average so you are perfectly normal. Good luck!

Hello everyone, Can I join? This is my first time on MN. Im 30. DH and I have been TTC baby #1 for a year now. Been both very relaxed about it, however I am now feeling very anxious and feel I should go see a doctor. I know it can take a while to get pregnant, but I don't know what I might be doing wrong!

Belleboo23 · 03/10/2015 08:02

Hi! Pre being on the pill I had an extremely long cycle often getting up to 60 days!! People would say I'm so lucky but if your trying to get pregnant it cuts your chances in half over a year! Doctor was about to refer me after a year of trying for my second to be put on chlomid but just before I found out I was pregnant. Still had no af arrive so just waiting!! Xx

Cookiesandcoffee · 02/10/2015 22:48

Welcome Belle Kaytee and Libby!
We are at the very start of ttc #3.. We have been unsure whether or not to have a third do good to have someone in a similar boat on board.
Very relaxed indeed Fuzzy!!
And Anna yes also relaxed! WinkI have never heard of these before.. My cycle used to be sometimes on the longer side, do they help?
Are there any other vitamins to help get your cycle back? I feel so out of rhythm having been on the pill

lostindubai · 02/10/2015 20:23

Sounds like you're off to a great start Kaytee Grin welcome to you, and Belle and Libby, good luck to you all x

Forgot to mention we're using conceive plus in place of our normal lube x

Kaytee1987 · 02/10/2015 08:49

Hello can I join in? DH and I ttc #1. We're on cycle 2. I know it's crazy but I was disappointed we didn't conceive first time round. Anyway we start DTD the day after my period ends. For the first week every third day then the next 2 weeks every second day. I think I'm about to ovulate so we did it 2 days in a row just in case. Hopefully this is enough - how much sex are you guys having? Xx

Tamara160 · 01/10/2015 22:36

It's lovely to hear from you Dark and Lost! Sorry to hear you're not feeling great. I hope the sickness passes soon. Hope you're both ok otherwise.

Welcome to all newbies! Lovely to have you!

Haha Anna! I don't blame you. I'm going to buy some ovulation tests to make sure I'm ovulating when i think i am. I hope the meds kick in soon and you start to feel better.

Welcome Belle. It sounds hopeful, fingers crossed for you.

Sorry for my lack of responses, it's been mental with work recently. I can't remember who asked, but we've only been trying for 2 months. Going into our third. I know it's not been long but still very frustrating!!

Belleboo23 · 30/09/2015 20:10

Hi everyone just found this. We are I'm 36 and ttc #3 to be honest we were happy with 2 but clocks ticking and I didn't want to regret not trying again my husband always wanted more than 2. Came off the mini pill over 3 weeks ago had no withdrawal bleed then before my ovulation tests came I had the egg white stuff we had dtd two days before then on that day aswell. 4 days later I had some lightish brown discharge for 2 days now nothing...Thought it was af starting. Took a year to get pregnant with my daughter so be shocked if it happens straight away also I won't have a clue with dates!! Xx

FuzzyOwl · 30/09/2015 19:37

Haven't posted for a while but congratulations to those with their BFPs.

Only 14 days until I ovulate. Focusing on that is still being relaxed, right?!

Annarose2014 · 30/09/2015 18:44

I've bought some soy isoflavins in an attempt to shorten my cycle and bring ovulation earlier. Going to start them tonight, for 4 days only.

Does that still count as "relaxed"? Grin

Its a slippery slope!

Cookiesandcoffee · 29/09/2015 20:04

Awww Anna sorry to hear that. It's all about next month Thanks draw a line and have a Wine. Hope you feel better very soon.. It's only my first AF and I'm digging into a tub of ice cream at this very moment..

MrsSantaClause · 29/09/2015 13:09

Booooo! Sorry Anna-at least you know for sure now xxx

Annarose2014 · 29/09/2015 08:58

Aah, it came! Day 40 FFS!

I don't even mind as I feel so poorly that I just want to draw a line under this month, iykwim. Its been exhausting!

Best of luck to everyone in October!

MrsSantaClause · 28/09/2015 21:13

Pleased you have got some answers and some meds Anna! Hope you are feeling better soon and ad doesn't come after all Flowers

Libbylove2015 · 28/09/2015 17:26

Ah thanks Annarose! And sorry to hear about the infection.

Easy for the doctor to say wait until you are two weeks late! Like asking a kid to carry around xmas presents with them without ripping the corners off to peek!

Annarose2014 · 28/09/2015 16:50

Doc said I have a thundering infection somehwere in my system according to my wee sample so put me on Augmentin. So thats likely the reason for the back pain and the general shittiness.

However he said that despite that infection it was still very possible I was pregnant as he doesn't consider it worth testing until you're two weeks late! Shock

So he has banned me from testing for the next week and he says if I am pregnant it will definately be testing positive by then. So I guess if I still havent got my period by then and its neg, it prob means just mentstrual cycle tomfoolery.

I'm at day 39 today, so I'm still on knicker watch.

libby welcome! AF means Aunt Flo i.e. Your period. TWW means the two week wait between ovulation and period coming (or not!)

Libbylove2015 · 28/09/2015 15:39

Hi All,

OK if I join the party? I am 34, trying to conceive no1 and am waiting for my first ovulation window with baited breath! As I have mentioned in another post, I have uterine polyps, so terrified this will hold things up.

Still getting my head around the acronyms (what is an AF?) and hoping to learn a lot from you all x

darkpandora · 28/09/2015 14:44

lostindubai · 28/09/2015 10:35

Hi Tamara, Anna and everyone else on here just thought I'd pop back in here and see how everyone is doing.

I've been feeling too nauseous to come online much - sort of miss the carefree chatter of this thread when it all began!

Hope all is ok with you Anna, and welcome to all the new arrivals on here. Best of luck to you all and hope to see you on the grads thread very soon.

Hope you get on ok at the docs today Anna Flowers

Cookiesandcoffee · 27/09/2015 21:11

Sorry to hear this Anna, I hope you get an answer really soon. It did sound quite positive..
I'm so casual I'm yet to go crazy and buy sticks... It won't be long Wink but just having my final AF as I come off the pill.. Going to get a grip of my cycle again this month.. It feels so long without contraception...
welcome to you too JellyBaby.. I hope your dd is ok. And good luck!
Tamara that does sound rubbish.. Even as good as the intentions it still hurts . How long have you been ttc?

Breakingupwithcontraception · 26/09/2015 21:05

Sorry to hear you're feeling so crappy Anna... Hope a sleep helps and that the GP can get to the bottom of things x

Annarose2014 · 26/09/2015 20:46

Yes I'm massively perplexed as I'm normally not someone who gets any aches or pains at all. So this is NOT normal and thats why I was so convinced it must be pregnancy.

I don't at all feel like I have a virus or infection or anything, but who knows? Its hard going, whatever it is. Good luck to everyone else!

Tamara160 · 26/09/2015 20:28

How strange Anna. I'm really surprised you didn't get a BFP. I hope the docs can sort you out and give you some answers. Hopefully a long sleep with ease your discomfort. Hugs to you! Flowers
