Looking for like-minded mums to be who are taking things as they come and fancy a friendly chat along the way.

I'm 36 and just started ttc my second. My ds is 28 mo and I still bf him once a day, most days. I understand this may affect my fertility but, although a three-ish year age gap would be nice, I'm a long way from worrying about it at this early stage. It took me a year of trying (and a mc) before ds came along so I already know what it's like to wait for good things!

Technically I'm not charting or anything (wouldn't know how) just counting roughly 10 days into my cycle and dtd as much as reasonable (!) around that time.

It might not be the most dynamic way of ttc but it suits me for now Smile

My DH is exactly the same. He's excited but doesn't like being bugged about it or me talking about things we might need when do finally get our BFP. I think he'll be more excited when we get a positive test.
No kids yet for either of us, we've been 'ready' for a few months but we wanted to hang on a bit longer due to work etc.

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 23:22

I'm not charting, but we're pretty active anyway.
Just keep riding cowgirl, he'll soon get in the swing!

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 23:21

I was worried about that too... he seems happy so far but i don't want to over do it. From what I've read dtd every few days should be fine as the sperm can live for up to 7 days. I still would want to dtd a bit more than that to make sure though.

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 23:20

Because he's so laid back & im not I bug him for reactions & we end up arguing, which is why I think your ladies will be good for us! Took a lot of hard thought together but he told me not to take my pill, & said he thinks us having a baby will make life better.
In a drunken state he said "let's have a baby" & I know he's on it- he even says it. He just doesn't react well to pressure, you know?
Maybe yours in the same, just wants an easy life lol!
Do you have any kids? X

darkpandora · 12/08/2015 23:18

As I'm not charting or anything and trying not to have timed sex I worry that when it's actually my fertile time my OH might not be in the mood any of you worry about that? I mean at the moment my OH hasn't kept his hands of me and keeps wanting sex so it's working out well but I'm sure it won't be the case every month lol

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 23:15

That made me laugh so much that i snorted my drink!!
So it's kind of new for him then. I think it's very different for the guys, i don't think they're as obsessed! Well mine isn't anyway!

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 23:09

Sometimes it makes me want to choke him lol!
I don't want him to feel I'm putting pressure on, but he gets that I'll be super excited to see a positive test.
His first was a shock, so he too has never dealt with a woman being allowed to try lol! X

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 23:06

Aww MrsHughes that's really kind of you! We'll all be thrilled for you when you get yours!
I suppose it's easier for him this time around already being a dad, do you think his 'laidbackness' is helping you relax at all or is it making you extra excited?

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 23:02

I'm really pleased to have found you bunch!
He will be too when I can talk to like minded women about my crazy! Lol!
My OH is already a dad so he's very much taking it in his stride, I'm getting excited!
We haven't told anyone I'm not on the pill as both of our moms would go crazy buying stuff & we don't want to pressure- so it's nice to not feel so alone!

I for one will be really pleased for you all when you get BFPs! X

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 22:56

Oh god I'm always looking at baby stuff. I've been looking at wardrobes for a nursery tonight and found a lovely one to match the cgest of drawers we were given. DH said no though as we have ages to sort that out. Needless to say i was disappointed lol.

Ooh i agree Dark, that's not nice at all if that's what it means. What a nasty thing to say to someone! Thank goodness our thread isn't like that. Smile

MrsHughes, yes he must be relieved that it's only us! This thread has been a god send!

lostindubai · 12/08/2015 22:56

Cross post Pandora! You could be right. How mean and sad that would be if it is Sad

lovely to have you with us ladies!

Decca I'm on tenterhooks with you! Grin

I'm not great with all the abbreviations but I know that LP is luteal phase. Could it have been that? There were loads of mystery abbreviations on the other thread I was on. Tbh I found it all really confusing and not at all relaxing which is why I moved away from it.

Molly what is NTNP? More abbreviations to add to the mix hehe! Wink

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 22:48

I've told him & I think he was ok about it- he's so laid back reactions are hard to figure out lol.
He's happy it's not me talking to men online though haha!

I've kept myself away from baby merch to try contain myself, I'm excited like a young girl going through puberty & being a woman again haha! X

darkpandora · 12/08/2015 22:43

Ha ah Tamara my OH is exactly the same I was driving him loopy I have been going on about babies and us Having a baby for about 2 years now but it was him who said to me he wants to try so I think it worked lol.

My baby crazy went a bit far the other day tho I was looking at old Victorian style strollers as I think they are gorgeous (£1,450 worth of gorgeous!) although my OH did join me so I blame him! Grin

Anybody else look at baby things constantly??

Hmm I don't think that's it as somebody came on the board bragging about being pregnant on a TTC forum and they all ganged up on this person calling them an LPB?? And making them leave the thread Ooh hang on maybe its Lucky pregnant bitch?? Ooh that's not nice Sad

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 22:34

My DH likes that I've joined a forum as I can get my 'baby craziness' out on here haha!

Just googled LPB and the only thing I can find that remotely makes sense is Low Back Pain. Does that sound right Dark?

darkpandora · 12/08/2015 22:26

Mrs Hughes don't worry I didn't know the abbreviations either lol I checked out the acronyms page but there's still one I don't know that's not on there it's was used on another thread I was reading I think it was an insult but not sure it's LPB anybody know?

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 22:18

I've got two in the dressing table & a man that wants to know what I'm typing on haha! Gonna have to tell him I've joined a TTC forum haha! X

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 22:07

Haha don't worry MrsHughes, I had to google poas earlier and I've been on here for months!
I know the feeling about the tests, I've got one in my bedside drawer and have a sneaky look at it every night lol.

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 21:25

& please bare with me- I'm new to all the abbreviations too lol! X

MrsHughes25 · 12/08/2015 21:22

Wow! Thanks everyone for being so welcoming!
I can't believe how welcoming this site is!
I'm trying not to get my hopes up but this lot with raging hormones is hard to contain!
My partner has a daughter & is so laid back, but this is all new & exciting!
I'm sure I'll have months of disappointing negatives ahead of me but the tests are burning a hole in my drawer already haha!

Wishing happy BFP for everyone! X

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 20:39

Ooo Decca! Exciting!! I hope you get your BFP!

I'm sorry to hear you're still not feeling great Reebok. Hopefully your mojo will come back soon! Interesting symptoms though!

Tamara160 · 12/08/2015 20:35

molly that doesn't sound good, hopefully the relaxed approach will work for you.

MrsHughes - what a lovely surprise it would be to find you were already pregnant! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

No poas yet for me, on CD 12 at the mo so we're dtd every other day, more if we fancy it lol. The ovia app changed my ov dates due to the data i put in so it showed as today being my most fertile day instead of 2 days time. All day I've been desperate to buy an opk pack to check, but I've resisted as I'm determined to be relaxed about it. (doesn't sound like it does it haha!) We're just going to carry on as we are Smile Still got 2 weeks to wait and I'm already going crazy!!

DeccaMitford · 12/08/2015 20:31

Evening ladies, welcome newbies!

No AF yet but I won't be POAS for a good few days as think I ovd later than expected. I'm on tenterhooks...

Reebok · 12/08/2015 19:56

mrs hughes when I went off the pill before my last mc, I had a million pregnancy symptoms including vomiting and nausea. Turned out it was because my body wasn't use to ovulation so I started experiencing some weird stuff. Knew I wasn't pregnant as we didn't start Ttc until the third month. Could be same with you especially if you have been on the pill for a while. Having said that, it's possible that you are pregnant as I conceived my daughter immediately after coming off the pill.

Reebok · 12/08/2015 19:53

Welcome dodi, puppy, molly and Mrs Hughes. This thread is a fantastic support network and keeps me sane. Hope it will help you too.

Feeling a little better thanks ladies. My first AF since my mc still hasn't arrived. Will be 4 weeks this weekend. Keep getting strange shooting pains in my lady parts! Lol stops me in my tracks! Kind of felt like I might start today and peeing like mad which is usually a sign but nothing yet. Decided to go out with my LO...spent the day at the beach and it was wonderful to forget about Ttc for a while especially as I have still lost my mojo and do not feel remotely like dtd! How on earth I'm going to conceive when I feel like this is beyond me! So funny considering that almost 2 weeks ago I was jumping at DH!
