Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Oh and I'm going to be a lot calmer this month. I've actually kind of given up in my head and I think that's probably a good thing. If I'm not pregnant by Christmas then I'll be really panicking but I suspect I probably will be. Basically I've just decided to calm down Blush

Evening! I've been really good and tried to stay away from MN for a few days. Last day of AF today (cd 6) and I've just ordered 30 ic ov sticks for £2.95 including delivery. Can't go wrong with that!

Totally understand how boring the wait is for OV day. If it's anything to go by the last 2 months I won't be OV for another 17 days.

How is everyone else?

Leamice · 13/08/2015 14:47

How is everybody? I'm on CD5, AF still here but light now, been heavier than the last 2 I had in Nov/Dec so hoping that's a good sign. I'm feeling impatient I want to fast forward a weeks or so, so we can get to the baby making lol! Going to start DTD Eod from about CD7 then maybe an extra day around Ov. Feeling excited :)

MinisMama13 · 11/08/2015 21:23

Sorry ladies! I decided to take a few days to chill as af has been mucking me around and it made me paranoid there's a problem again. Stupid body.
I will read through and catch up with you all shortly Smile

aprilrainshowers · 10/08/2015 23:01

Cupcakes, I know how you feel (having just got AF back a month or so ago). I read that the longer it takes to return the more likely you will return to full fertility so it might be a good thing in the end..?

Lea, I like your optimism. I was so hoping I would catch the first or second eggs, it wasn't to be for me but won't stop me hoping for the third despite an obvious luteal phase defect :/ Combined with finishing house renovations and moving in the next month it would be a miracle if we fell pregnant this cycle..

Leamice · 10/08/2015 17:23

pear, we are cycle buddies (fingers crossed I actually Ov) enjoy your little mn break, I'm probably going to be slightly ttc obsessed this cycle as obviously first proper cycle trying, that 7+ months of limbo doesn't count lol! I am going to get knocked up, only one month away from bfp :) I'm going with positive mental attitude!

cupcakes hopefully AF coming soon for you. Sounds promising that your boobs didn't hurt away from DS, less milk production means less prolactin... Got to be a good sign :)

peardrop2 · 10/08/2015 14:24

Afternoon Smile

Cupcakes - That sounds like a great improvement if you didn't feel any pain! Hooray for small improvements Smile

Cd2 for me today. I'm going to take a mini break from MN for my sanity Smile Good luck to anyone dangling legs or testing in the next week Wink

Hi all, not been posting massively lately as I'm usually on my phone which is a pain.

Welcome to the new members, we've had a few graduates lately so lovely to see some new people coming on board.

Pear sorry about the BFN.

STILL no AF here. Sigh. On the up side, DS spent the weekend at my mum's. Last time he went (about 3 weeks ago) I was in agony my boobs were so sore. This time I barely felt anything, so he must be taking less milk when he feeds? That's got to help.

Dobedobedo · 09/08/2015 20:41

pear Same here. It was two years ago on Tues that ds2 was conceived.

I'm still waiting for af to show her annoying face. On day 40 so far and my cycle lengths are so different every time.

peardrop2 · 09/08/2015 15:15

It is really weird to think that if I ovulate this month the same time as last month then there's a very high chance that both my children will share a birthday. That's a v odd thought!

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 09/08/2015 15:11

Btw AF seems to be more AF ish rather then spotting which is interesting! Think that is also a good sign! I guess I'm on CD1 then!

Thanks April. I wasn't at all prepared for how long conceiving would take with no2 so I'm glad to hear someone is!! If only I had known then I wouldn't have spent so long stressing over the last 12 months!! A year feels like a very long time when you're in it. You're right...it does feel like my body is now ready. I have now excepted that a 3 year natural spacing gap is what I may get and I might have two children who share a birthday!

Pear, sorry to hear about your BFN, but it does sound like your body is now ready for another pregnancy. Thanks for the summary of your luteal phase. Seems like it can take quite some time to lengthen even with stopping breastfeeding which is frustrating but good to know to prepare myself. I am already taking agnus cactus, I read (on Kellymom mainly) that it was okay in breastfeeding so hopefully it is... I also took it while I was waiting to get my periods back after going off the pill to get pregnant with DS (which took 18 months too!), it is hard to say whether it worked or not but I got pregnant around 5 months after period returning. I had a very short luteal phase around 2 cycles before conceiving so was hoping that it might lengthen more quickly again but guess the prolactin will be hindering that...

Yeah for the return of your cycles Lea!

peardrop2 · 09/08/2015 09:34

Morning!

Lea - that's very exciting and what a relief for you! I can totally imagine how you feel ???? I hope you get lucky this month and you don't need any Dr assistance after all!

So, looks like AF has arrived this morning Hmm Massive cramping and light pink upon wiping this morning however nothing since so I suspect she will arrive properly tomorrow. I feel really stupid for wasting so many sticks (2 OpKs, 1 cheap Sainsburys and 1 basic Clearblue from the trial). I'm proud of myself for not cracking open the digital test. However, let me warn you ladies...yesterday I started testing with IC OPKs because I didn't want to waste sticks and with Ava's recent experience I thought I'd have a go. So I got a second line on both tests. It got my hopes up which was really sad Hmm It wasn't as strong as Ava's second line but it was a definite line. Let that be a lesson to us all Grin
So, onto cycle 10. I've got a gorgeous scrumptious son (currently destroying his DVDs collection) and 2 bottles of wine to get me through the next week Wink Roll on cycle 10 Confused

Oh and Lea...at least we've got each other as testing buddies as I've been ovulating around the 20 day mark too. Maybe we will both Ov early this month Wink

Leamice · 09/08/2015 06:57

Morning, I've woken up to CD1 Grin never been so happy to see AF!! My app tells me that last cycle was 224 days -that's over 7 months!! Oh gosh I hope that was just my body taking a break and fingers crossed I'll Ov on cd 20 as normal this cycle. Either way I'm hoping docs can help if I encounter any problems.

Hello April and Dob Smile

pear sorry for Bfn, really is great news about the longer lp though.

peardrop2 · 09/08/2015 06:11

April, you were asking about short Lutuel phases. Well when I started monitoring last October mine were 8 days and I was still bf twice a day (7am & 7pm). They then moved to 10 days around Marxh when I stopped by and then 11 days from May and now it looks like they've stretched to maybe 14! I started taking Agnus Cactus this month which I now highly recommend but I don't know if you can take it whilst Bf!

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 09/08/2015 06:06

13dpo and just got another BFN Hmm I'm really trying to except that it's over and that it looks like my LP has lengthened from the 10-11 dpo last cycle to maybe now 14 days if she doesn't show up today!

MinisMama13 · 08/08/2015 22:45

April I wasn't sure about temping but a lovely lady on here said to give it a go and it did show ov. I have only done one cycle but I just looked at the overall pattern and not individual temps.
The nipple pain made me wonder about latch and all sorts until I clicked that it was obviously hormone related!

aprilrainshowers · 08/08/2015 22:01

Thanks for that info Mini, sorry new to using forums and didn't see your post when I just replied.

The nipple pain took me by surprise and I did have trouble sleeping/resting through the nighttime feeds and unlatched as soon as I thought DS wouldn't complain too much. It felt like a sign something had actually changed re hormones. I was also using ovulation strips (just cheap ones though) and haven't got a positive (though some darkish lines), though I didn't the cycle we conceived DS either so I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Good to know that temping is still somewhat useful, I rarely sleep more than 2-3 hour stretches but I guess as long as you have been resting it should be meaningful.

aprilrainshowers · 08/08/2015 21:43

Fingers crossed for your test tomorrow Pear. I had cramping just before AF was due with my pregnancy, so maybe a good sign? If you are feeling really curious you could take an ovulation test? I had a second line the night before my positive pregnancy test at 14 dpo, I think they are also sensitive to HCG. You have probably thought through all this though! It is so hard when you are on the cusp of finding out whether it has worked this month!

MinisMama13 · 08/08/2015 21:40

Cramping isn't necessarily bad! Just rest for a bit and try to distract yourself! I have wine and popcorn Grin

MinisMama13 · 08/08/2015 21:39

April I'd say it's worth temping anyway just don't expect it to be completely accurate! I found mine still registered my rise even though we're up lots atm! Short lps are common while still bf while fertility is returning from what I can gather. From when I started tracking ov post baby mine were 7 days and have now got to 10, well 11 this cycle. That's been since January Smile Between ov and af I get quite bad nursing aversion some days and sore nipple after ov. It's definitely linked to my cycles and from my understanding can be pretty common.

Pear post baby they've been 3-5 days, although usually 3 or 4 plus 2 days spotting before and at least 1 after. This is just weird. Gah. I may be poas in a morning, just to be sure lol.
I haven't used the sainsburys tests but in my selection of tests I used with ds I had an Asda one and a boots one Smile Lots and lots of luck and baby dust lovely

peardrop2 · 08/08/2015 21:37

So I did "row row your boat" with ds tonight and now I am cramping Hmm Ladies I'm loosing the plot Confused

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 08/08/2015 21:09

Mini - that does sound odd. How Long do they normally stick around? It's never simple is it Confused

Waving hello to all the newbies ????????

Has anyone ever used the Sainsbury branded pregnancy tests 2 pack for £3.50? I brought them for the first time tonight. Thought I would try one in the morning. Did I mention how much I am enjoying waiting this out? ShockGrin

Hi everyone, I've been following this thread on and off for a little while while waiting for my first postpartum period. Am now on cycle 3 (DS1 is 19 months and af returned at 18 months) and wanting to ttc in earnest. Think I have a very short luteal phase though (only 6-7 days last cycle). I have not been able to temp (too many night wakings!) but based on the few temps I have taken, ewcm and some twinges etc think I am ovulating.

Do others find they have sore nipples when feeding for a few days after ovulation? I really noticed this before my first PP period and less so last cycle. Also did anyone else notice such short luteal phases cycles at first and how quickly did you find they lengthened?
