Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Damn these ic hpts! Faintest of all lines came up eventually but within the 8 minutes. It's not pink at all so technically negative but dh could see it too so I'm not imagining it! last night opk was definitely positive but the two lines weren't quite the same. Going to get a frer later and I've kept a fmu sample. I'll be totally gutted now as I've allowed myself to get my hopes up. I'm still a bit crampy so I'm running to the loo to check all the time. It'd be a miracle though as we're still bf a lot! Dh has the day off day as we'd planned a day out with the kids so at least I'll be distracted for a few hours now. Will report back later!

Ispy!!! Sounds like a bfp to me?!?! Were the two lines on the opk as strong as each other? Smile

And Pear I'm sure you're very in tune with your body by now so I'd trust yourself to know when you ov. It was quite exciting to see cm when I expected it this cycle like at least something is working!

ispyfispi · 17/08/2015 22:50

Mini, sensible decision but sooo frustrating!

No real news here. I was expecting af to properly arrive today and it hasn't but I only have one previous cycle to base that on, maybe I'm just going to be irregular for a while. I'm 11/12dpo so improved lp even though this cycle will actually be longer. I poas again this morning and technically a bfn, damn those imaginary lines though! I also did an opk this evening that was positive but didn't you say you had that before af Pear? Will do another ic hpt in the morning if no af still.

peardrop2 · 17/08/2015 22:42

Sorry I meant cycle day 9 here (not cycle 9)

Mini - Sounds like a brave decision eek! That must be very frustrating knowing that you're fertile but can't do anything about it Sad I can totally understand why you're in a school year frame of mind...once you get an idea and it sticks, it is hard to shake off Smile

Cycle 9 here. In a bit of a dilemma. I only have 5 flashing smiley sticks this month (leftover from last month) or I have 10 old style smiley sticks still to open. I also have 30 ic sticks due to arrive in the post any day now. Anyway, I tested with a ic this morning and got a faint second line. I don't really know if that means I'm going to OV earlier or not. I feel a bit unsure without my cb sticks! As I've been OVing so late (around the 20th day) I am in no mood to start dtd too early! Anyway, I think I should just trust that I am still far away from OVing and perhaps start dtd this weekend. I really will have to rely on cm monitoring this month to help save the pennies!

Hiya ladies!

How is everyone? I'm living through you all as we decided no ttc this cycle while I work my notice! Booo! Loads of ewcm too!

Pear I was thinking a lot about what you said and you're so right. I just got this thing in my head about school years for some reason. I guess because the other two are hours apart in age so it won't be as scary on that first day dropping them off!

Ispy any news?

MinisMama13 · 16/08/2015 21:59

Pear I have a boy and she has a girl!
I know what you mean though. I'm just frustrated! We may just ttc anyway but I need to decide asap!

MinisMama13 · 16/08/2015 21:57

That's the thing, but then I guess you still qualify for maternity allowance which is nearly the same. It wouldn't be so bad if I only had to give a weeks notice as we'd only miss 1 cycle Confused

peardrop2 · 16/08/2015 21:56

Mini - if you didn't except the job and you didn't fall pregnant for whatever reason then just imagine how awful that would make you feel! An easier to deal with age gap and better work prospects for the future seems like the more sensible option IMO. You could both (you and your friend) end up with different genders and that could interfere with future friendships anyway! It probably works so well now because you both have girls! Also a few months might not make much difference! My ds still gets on with my friends kids really well and they have a 6 month age gap. The older they get the less noticeable age gaps are IMO.

Ispy - I read that some people experience more bowel movement around OV time and before AF arrives. It is linked to progesterone rising and falling.

Ooh tricky with work Mini. I got pg with dd a couple of weeks after starting a new job but because pg is dated from lmp it was if I was pregnant when I started and didn't qualify for maternity pay Hmm Must be frustrating to delay ttc for such a technicality.

MinisMama13 · 16/08/2015 21:26

Totally should clarify - I've accepted the job. I'm torn with what to do about ttc!

Oooo ispy it could be positive!

ispyfispi · 16/08/2015 19:17

Congrats on the job offer Mini! Also welcome to April and Dob, I still haven't had chance to read through properly but I will later, good luck on your journeys though Smile

Tmi alert! So I've had no spotting today just the tiniest bit of brown discharge so I don't know what's going on grr! I have however opened my bowels a lot today, was it Pear that was asking about that?! I guess only time will tell....

MinisMama13 · 16/08/2015 18:38

Hi lovely ladies!

I hope everyone is well! Took me ages to find the thread as for some reason it wasn't on my "I'm on" list?! How rude!

Ispy boo to a bfn, big hugs and crack open the wine!

Pear I have just eaten rubbish of late, ooops Blush

I know I've missed people there sorry. Must try harder!

It's been a weird week, af was short but loads of spotting and random gushes a couple of days later had me testing. Bfn. I think I'm cd9 but not completely sure. Trying to forget about it as I don't think we can ttc for the next 2 months and then I'm sad too I was hoping to be pregnancy and due so #2 would share the same school year ad my best friends #2 but I think we would only have 3 cycles left to try for that to work and yeh. I know that sounds ridiculous but our first babies are best friends and the same age and it's so lovely to see. She's now 11 weeks pg.
I got offered a new job this week and I have to give 4 weeks notice in my current role. I'm so torn with what to do!

peardrop2 · 16/08/2015 08:09

Ispy - ahhh I see! I soooo wish I had started TTC only when I stopped bf! I'll know for next time Wink I guess you just don't know how your body will react until it happens to you! My mum keeps asking me if I would have stopped earlier but no I would have just not started trying so early Confused

Sorry for your bfn Ispy. Tg you've seen some improvement this month to soften the blow!

Today is my last day of unhealthy eating and then I'm back to being TTC sensible (ish) next week Wink

Bfn this morning at 11dpo

ispyfispi · 16/08/2015 07:01

I stopped breastfeeding sooner last time though Pear so we only started ttc once I'd already stopped and we only needed to dtd once and I was pg! Once! It wasn't even well timed, just lucky. I had no idea how effective bf is as a contraceptive. Although af has only been back for 3 months we've basically been ttc for a year this time.

peardrop2 · 15/08/2015 23:31

I spy - sorry Hmm That sounds like a familiar situation. I would also agree that it must be positive to have less spotting and earlier OV! It just has to be, right?! What worries me most is that even with 2 children you feel frustrated about the Ttc wait! So I guess the frustration never leaves then, no matter how many children you have? Do you not feel more prepared this time because you experienced a wait between dc1 & 2?

April - thanks. I'm just not coping well with MN bfp announcements or even celebrity announcements. Basically anyone Blush Completely selfish I know Confused I'm the new Ttc me trying so hard to channel my feelings into getting stuff done around the house. I even started a "wtf why am I not pregnant to do list" today Blush

Oh dear I had to look up what CD I am at, think it is CD18 and no sign that ovulation is imminent. DH are both in pieces with the renovations and DS is being challenging (including feeding like a newborn...) and taking hours to put to sleep. Have not even found the motivation/energy to take an ovulation test! Hoping that things calm down over the next few days and we at least manage to give ourselves a chance this cycle!

Pear, I'm sorry you are finding mumsnet stressful and not supportive... your wait and see until Christmas approach sounded like a good idea to me was thinking I would wait until then before thinking about deliberately cutting back on breastfeeding if I still have short LP....

ispyfispi · 15/08/2015 20:37

I've not had chance to catch up with the thread since I got back from camping but wanted to check in. Cd35 here with some spotting tonight. It looks like my cycles are getting shorter by a day or two with ovulation happening a day or two sooner which is good news I think. Still ???? though. This month was my last shot at a smaller age gap than dcs1&2. I have wine in but I'm not certain enough to crack it open yet dammit. Onto the next cycle everyone Confused

peardrop2 · 15/08/2015 15:23

Lea - so much for my relaxed approach Wink

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 15/08/2015 15:22

Lea - I'm Cd7 too!!

I am so depressed. Someone else I know from an old thread with a ds the same age has just announced her bfp. I don't get it. She barely tried. 2 bloody cycles of barely trying and now she is pregnant Confused

I think I might have to leave MN and just totally shut myself off. At least everyone I know in RL is pregnant (nearly everyone). Unless my friends start announcing their 3rd pregnancies! Which will probably happen now Confused

morning, CD7, AF been much longer than normal, thought it had finished yesterday but had more in the pm, gone again though so hopefully thats it! pre baby I only had 3 day AFs, Nov & and Dec were both only 3/ 4 days,, wondering if its a good sign or bad that this one had been so long... probably over thinking it!

Well done on calming down Pear and taking a relaxed approach this month.... I'll be opposite :)

peardrop2 · 14/08/2015 19:46

Maybe that's what 9 cycles does to you hey Wink
