Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Pear, there's definitely still hope if there is ewcm, hang in there!!

aprilrainshowers · 31/08/2015 20:19

Lea, sounds like you can ignore this morning's temp. I hate it when a temp isn't what I hope for, it's not a great start to the day is it. I think that (and the being woke up by DS) is why I've not really gotten back into it except for the odd moment of curiosity.

ToElle, fx for you, looking forward to hearing about all your tww symptoms! Curious to know how you find feeding post ov as the first two times for me my nipples were sore for 3 days and this time they are still sore but it is easing off (or I'm getting used to it?).

Thanks everyone for the commiserations! It was a silly waste of hpt and I will wait until at least 12dpo to test again if AF has not arrived. Did manage to largely forget about it for the rest of the day so maybe it did serve some purpose!

Leamice · 31/08/2015 14:02

my temp dipped this morning but we had a bad night that culminated with DS in bed with us at 3:30am and i was up at 4:45 for work, probably not ov'd though.

I think I'm losing hope that my cycles are normal.

Sounds very frustrating for you too Pear but sounds like you are still fertile if you have ewcm.

Sorry for BFN April, it is still early days. fx for you.

peardrop2 · 31/08/2015 11:01

Spotted ewcm. Still hopeful Confused

April with my DS I got a bfn two days before my positive test. So that would've been 12dpo. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

Pear wish I had something knowledgable to say but instead will send supportive thoughts.

peardrop2 · 31/08/2015 09:10

April....I know, it's soooooo frustrating isn't it. I hate 10dpo when you don't know but you don't want to get your hopes up and you can't think of anything else!!! It is a really positive sign that you've reached 10dpo. Let's hope she doesn't show Smile

CD 23 for me. No sign of anything on sticks but I think I still have ewcm. I'm still baffled to why I'm not seeing flashing smileys by now. I guess I'm just ovulating really late or not at all Confused The wait continues.

Hi Clara - welcome! I've heard people recommend Agnus Cactus too, but haven't personally tried it.

Disappointing April, but still early days and not using FMU won't have helped. Fingers crossed for another couple of days.

Sounds promising Leamice.

Seems likely I did ov. Had EWCM until Saturday and nothing yesterday so I'm guess the clearblue did pick up the surge for Friday and Sat. Managed to DTD both days so we'll see what happens.

Totally agree with you about b'feeding being so handy for settling at night. I honestly can't think what I'd do without it. Can't imagine walking the floors and bouncing etc when you could be sitting in a comfy rocking chair or even still in bed.

aprilrainshowers · 31/08/2015 08:50

Lea, hope your temp stayed up this morning and you are on your way to a bfp!

aprilrainshowers · 31/08/2015 08:43

Well against my better judgment took an ic hpt, wasn't planned was just feeling frustrated and ready to end my misery so didn't even use FMU, anyway was obviously a BFN. Should just be feeling pleased that i've got to (I think) 10dpo but now that I have I feel on edge! My temp this morning was just above my usual cover line, which makes me think I'm not pregnant as surely it would be higher by now..

aprilrainshowers · 30/08/2015 21:26

Pear, maybe wait until you know you have ovulated before booking the test? I remember having the test done on the days they specified for a 28 cycle when I knew mine was longer and they just came back saying the test was inconclusive.

Clara, I'm sorry my welcome didn't sound very friendly Blush. Was my first chance to sit down without DS all day and was just trying to get some words down! Sounds like your cycles are shortening fairly rapidly so maybe they will naturally settle down soon anyway.

peardrop2 · 30/08/2015 20:48

April - not sure about the ewcm. I think so. That's good news about Af not turning up yet...sounds really promising!!

Lea, I'm CD22 too! I think we've established this but then I forgot! Anyway, in July I ovulated on CD22 and in June I ovulated on CD24 and May CD25. So yes...it's not too late to ovulate. However, none of my sticks are flashing or getting stronger which feels me with massive doubt that anything will happen this month Sad

Welcome Clara. In addition to the agnus cactus people often mention vitamin B6 which can suppress prolactin I think (but might also affect supply). I think it is often recommended to take a B complex though instead of just B6. Perhaps something else to look into if you feel in a hurry.

Pear, sorry to hear that this cycle is turning out to be a bit confusing. Do you still have lots of ewcm? If not maybe your body will have another go in a few days or a week (have had this happen in the lead up to my first pp period). If you still have ewcm maybe ovulation is still going to happen soon?

Still busy symptom spotting (frequent urination, no sign of AF and a high temp this morning) but DH brought me back down to earth when I said I won't need any wine tonight as I might be pregnant and he exclaimed pregnant?!! it doesn't seem likely! also have heaps of gas which is usually associated with AF (sorry if TMI!)

Leamice · 30/08/2015 16:30

Hi Clara, not sure I can be much help with regards to how to regulate cycles whilst still breastfeeding without saying the obvious of cutting down or night weaning... Sorry! Welcome anyway!

its still not too late to ovulate is it Pear? I hope not, Im CD22, and still not sure whether I have or not, Temp down a bit from yesterday (though I was up early for work) but still higher than normal... who knows. Wish I never started temping! It was much better ttc DS being none the wiser whether O had Ov'd or not and just assuming I would lol

peardrop2 · 30/08/2015 15:51

So, I've brought 3for2 pregnacare this morning. Figured I should probably be looking after myself better! Also found out that my bf is engaged. More than likely to have a summer wedding. Feeling a bit nervous that the two (my birth) might clash but mustn't worry about it yet Shock It's more than likely that I won't be involved since she's distanced herself since I had ds Sad

Morning Clara! Can you take Agnus Cactus whilst breastfeeding? I think it's worth looking into!

Well I'm totally baffled now Hmm It is CD22 for me (I OVd this day in July) and I have no sign of ovulating anytime soon from the sticks. In fact today the ic barely shows a second line!! It's not possible that I've missed the surge this month because I've been testing so much! I think I'm not going to ovulate Confused Perhaps stopping Agnus Cactus because I ran out of pills was a really dumb idea Shock How do I know when to have a blood test now? I guess maybe I book it for the following Monday and just assume that I was meant to OV this weekend like last time?! What a waste of sticks this month Hmm

Hi all, this looks like a lovely thread, wd love to join. I'm 42 and have dd who is 4 and Ds 14 months. Want to ttc no3 and did get AF back 3 months ago. But cycles way off regular.. First one was 8 weeks, and second one is over 4 weeks.. AF not yet here. I previously had v clear 29/30 day cycle

Really don't want to cut back on bf but maybe I'll have to as time not in my side ;-)

Do you smart ladies know of anything you can do to regularise your cycle aside from cutting back on bf?

Hope my story gives you spring chickens hope. Felt like I waited forever for Ds at 40/41 but then he came along!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 29/08/2015 21:56

Impeccable manners! Really hope this is your month Smile

aprilrainshowers · 29/08/2015 21:52

Thats, it is lovely when they start to communicate more. My DS started saying 'thank you' after nursing a few months ago, sometimes even in his sleep Grin. He calls milk 'baba', not sure where that came from either!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 29/08/2015 21:31

The best thing about bfeeding is being able to get them back to sleep by getting a boob out, don't blame you at all! I had a proud moment today, I asked if he wanted milkies (I don't know quite how we came to call it thatBlush) and he got into feeding position. Love how much they understand at this age. Sorry a bit off topic there Smile

Do whatever works for you both. I've had to enlist the help of DH who is now thankfully good at settling DS most of the time but ultimately the reason I've continued to bfeed is to provide that comfort as and when it's needed. had a glass of wine so possibly rambling

aprilrainshowers · 29/08/2015 21:01

Thats, he is 20 months and doesn't usually feed so much but think he is teething (again!). He has always fed a lot through the night, only recently sometimes going longer than 2 hours. I always thought I would try night weaning at 18 months but I just don't have the energy to try anything else when it is so easy to feed him back to sleep Blush. It is great that your DS has night weaned on his own, bodes well for your period returning quickly Smile. I'm just hope that the idea of weaning is worse than the reality (at least from DS's perspective!).

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 29/08/2015 20:39

How old is your DS April? I find the idea of weaning really horrible, my compromise has been attempting to drop night feeds as I read that night feeds are the ones that affect your fertility. Easy to say that when he's not really waking at night atm though!

aprilrainshowers · 29/08/2015 20:34

Thanks ispy, think I've got a bit longer to wait then!

Is anyone else in the tww??

DS, who is basically still fed on demand, has been feeding seemingly every hour for the last couple of days so I am surprised that hasn't triggered a drop in progesterone and AF (if that's how it works)... to be honest thinking of pregnancy potentially drying up my milk supply and DS weaning makes me quite sad and okay with it not working out this cycle.

ispyfispi · 29/08/2015 19:51

April, my ic hpts showed the faintest of faintest barely there not even pink second line on 12dpo and even then it was only after the whole 8 minutes. I counted it as a -ive result. 13dpo it was a definite but very faint line after 8 minutes and the clearblue digi was bfp. However the ic opks were +ive on 12dpo and 13dpo so probably a better indicator. Ava also had a strong opk before her bfp. Good Luck!

aprilrainshowers · 29/08/2015 19:22

Lea, great that you will have the temp rise to confirm ovulation and sounds like you covered all bases regardless of ov day!

I'm still only 8dpo (9 tomorrow) so to early to test I think. The pain I felt was 7dpo so could have been implantation Hmm Have fallen back into madly googling symptoms but I guess there is a part of me that likes getting my hopes up. I have a few ic hpt, but don't know if they are reliable enough to even bother with. Does anyone have any experience using them?
