Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Well, I didn't dtd last night. We had planned to and then DH thought that he would stay downstairs for so long that I fell asleep. Wow is all I can say. I don't have any hopes for this month at all so there is no point having a massive argument over it but all I can think is that so much has to change lifestyle wise in our household.

Tentothesix - 4 months Shock Are you nuts? He must be a good sleeper! Good luck...I hope it doesn't take you as long the second time round!

Hello please can I join?

I'm 31 and DH 40. Our DS is almost 4 months and ebf and we would love to have a close age gap if we can. It took us over a year to conceive him and I had rubbish long cycles which at one point was 80-odd days but eventually down to about 40 days when I fell pregnant. I used ovulation tests for the first time the cycle I fell pregnant.

I don't know much about ovulation whilst breastfeeding but I have a Clearblue digital ovulation predictor but not had a period yet so I guess no point using it yet.

Don't necessarily want to be pregnant this early (although would be very happy if I was!) but am anticipating this taking ages.

I need to read up and educate myself bit but just wanted to introduce myself really!

Pear my fertility app shows one more fertile day after ovulation day if that helps at all

Leamice · 10/10/2015 11:45

got my fc crossed for you Pear, looks like plenty of dtd! I'm not sure how fertile you'd be on 1dpo unless ov was delayed? Its great your friend was so supportive, I've not really confided with anyone in RL about my struggles ttc no.2 and constantly smiling through gritted teeth when i answer "yes, we want another one... yes we're trying"

peardrop2 · 10/10/2015 08:17

In the end I dtd on cd 12, 18,19, 20, 22 & 25. Peaking on cd 25. Strangely to me it doesn't feel enough this month Confused Have to remember that Ava only dtd once!

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 10/10/2015 08:07

Dpo 1 today. Just wondering...what's everyone's opinion about dtd on dpo1? So, the day after your two peak days. Clearblue reckons that you're still fertile on dpo1. I'm not sure. I've been avoiding it for the last few months as I'm always so shattered by dpo1. Should I make the effort this month?

In other news...I confided with a friend this week who has been through a similar TTC journey to me. It was sooooo nice. She was so lovely about it and gave me a tip about visiting a private clinic's open day for free advice. It was just really nice to talk to someone who totally gets it without saying anything annoying or judgemental. I'm glad I was brave enough to share my story with her!

Sorry for AF Clara, hopefully this next cycle will be lucky for you.

Dougal, how are you temping? I've found vaginally gives me more consistent temps as when I was doing orally would be very up and down as sometime sleep with mouth open. Tbh though, I'm not very good at understanding charting myself! My temp rise on most recent cycle came 48hrs after +ve opk/last day of ewcm...

Got my fingers crossed that you've both caught your eggies this month and good luck for your upcoming twws pear & thats

I'm most definitely CD1 now (finally), feel sad even though it was completely expected due to all this LP spotting, also only 9dpo normally get AF on 14dpo... Stupid hormones! As soon as AF goes I'll be mega healthy, I would start today but need some chocolate I think haha!

peardrop2 · 08/10/2015 23:02

Clara - I hope you feel better v soon! Yay for your cycle settling!

That's - boo! I so know how your feel. Once you see a sign you just want to act on it and it's super annoying when DH doesn't comply!!

Damn these arguments we're having!! What's going on...something in the water?! I'm now dangling my legs again as tonight is probably my last chance to dtd this cycle as I'm out tomorrow night. This is my main problem...with an irregular cycle I can never plan quiet nights in!!! However, next month I will definitely assume that I will OV around cd25 and keep the week free next time!! Sod's law I'll then go and OV 2 weeks early!!

Dougal - yay for BF progression! It's all got to help, surely!! I am baffled as I too thought a rise in temp indicated OV. Could you gyni confirm this if you rang her up or is that a no go? Like could you pretend you have a question about something she said and then when you speak to her say something like...you know how you said I OV'd on XX date, well how Come I didn't see a rise in temp? Surely if you pretend that you want to monitor it right for next time that you see her she will want to answer your question? Maybe?!

I've had ewcm the last couple of days (much later than the app predicted but only first cycle) so like you pear was planning on dtd but didn't due to an argument. Typical isn't it. I know I said start properly next month but when I saw the signs it made me want to try :-/

Clara101 · 08/10/2015 18:42

Ps dougal I'm not expert but also thought temp rise was reliable and that a rise does indicate ov albeit retrospectively. I always found it really tricky though as have to be consistent abut waking time etc and if you're not or don't take straight away can throw things off. Did you already try corresponding temps with other symptoms esp cm? Some people say that is effective as then there's checks and balances.

Clara101 · 08/10/2015 18:35

Hi all, your dh sounds lovely pear.. Hoping your luck comes through v soon. Thx for checking Lea, my nausea etc was just AF. Or maybe some bug as she's now here and still feel like throwing up! At least my cycle is gradually returning to normal, 32 days this time so am glad abut that. WIll just see how we go this month and then decide if cut back feeding any more etc. good luck all!

DougalTheCheshireCat · 08/10/2015 16:57

Ah Pear. It's not easy all this stuff is it?

We've had a few nights of no DTD when we should have due to an argument (renovation is stressful). Great that you've managed to fit it in today though. Fingers crossed for you.

I got a static smiley last week (don't get the flashing ones, progesterone levels being one of the things I hope will improve now I've more or less stopped BF).

However, I do not have a corresponding temperature rise yet, making me wonder. It looks like it was climbing this Tuesday (have not check again) and I've had a bit of creamy and egg white mucus this week. Last DtD on sunday so wonder if we should again.

Whereas last cycle I had a temp rise when I thought I would ovulate (but gynae said she didn't think I had) and no temp rise when (she told me) I did ovulate.

So I'm really confused. I thought the temp rise was supposed to be the best way of tracking and confirming ovulation. But mine doesn't seem that reliable.

Le sigh. Any ideas on temp rises anyone? Or is it that temp rises are accurate if your cycle is stable, but, like the other stuff, if things are flexing around, the temp rise might occur without ovulation, or the LH surge can come a long time (6-7 days??) before ovulation actually occurs?

In other news: last night I put DD to be without BFing her for the first time ever. She did ask, but was accepting of me saying no without getting upset. So maybe not quite the end (DH does bedtime a lot at the moment, if she really needs it I let her have a 2 min feed when I do it), but another (and big) step in the road.

ToElleWithIt · 08/10/2015 14:23

I think I would have done the same. 6 hours is a fair bit.

peardrop2 · 08/10/2015 14:12

DH did come home in the end and has gone back to work. I hope for his sake that it was worth it Confused

Elle - it's soooo hard not to get sucked into TV isn't it. I know what you mean!! Good luck with tonight!

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 08/10/2015 11:45

6 hrs. That's quite a lot isn't it?! We're still debating the issue...sigh.

OP posts:
ToElleWithIt · 08/10/2015 08:39

Sod's law eh! How many hours in the difference?

Crap Leamice

Meant to DTD last night too, but DH was working late and got sucked into the GBBO final I had recorded and was too shattered, typical. Will get on it tonight.

peardrop2 · 08/10/2015 08:04

The joys of TTC hey Wink

peardrop2 · 08/10/2015 08:03

DH has offered to come home early but I don't know if it is worth it Hmm Obviously I know it is a good idea to have sex ASAP but it would be a massive inconvenience to his working day and just for the sake of a few hours...is it really worth it?! I think maybe we should just stick to an early night. He was in a great mood when he left for work this morning...NOT! lol

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 08/10/2015 06:22

Naturally because DH had an argument last night and couldn't force ourself to dtd I have woken up to a smiley face Angry Could not be more annoyed!!!! I have not dtd since Monday. I suppose it could be worse but very annoying anyway! I guess we will make up for it tonight and at least I can make my blood test appointment for next Thursday. So, this is the second month that I've got a peak on CD25...that's interesting.
