Peardrop - age 33, TTC cycle #9, DS is 26 months (stopped bf soon to be 4 months ago). Af returned when DS 14months, currently on CD14 and have had 4 flashing smileys. Praying for a static smiley tomorrow! Dangling legs in air!

Sounds sensible espresso, wish I had your self control

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 14/10/2015 20:18

Very sensible espresso, I hope AF stays well away though! For a good year at least! Wink

espresso14 · 14/10/2015 19:09

Sorry, decided to wait till weekend before testing (5 weeks). I'd rather give AF more chance to arrive, than the feeling a negative test would leave me with.

Leamice · 14/10/2015 18:33

Yay espresso, looking forward to some test news :)

DougalTheCheshireCat · 14/10/2015 16:46

well do come and tell us when you test Espresso, we do love a bit of live testing Grin.

Presumably you'd rather have your job agreed before you get pg to get the maternity leave. In which case chances are you are pregnant, that's life. I found out I was with DD just as my previous salaried job move to a more precarious freelance type scenario. Though as I'd been an employee I retained that status and it works out ok, maternity leave-wise, it was worrying and I didn't tell them I was pregnant until 24 weeks!

espresso14 · 14/10/2015 12:03

Period "late", as in 4.5 weeks since last one and no pre-men signs. But, only on 2nd cycle, so could be just a longer cycle.

Not yet signed new job contract.......

Think I may have to get a test later today, although not sure I really want to know either outcome.

Clara101 · 13/10/2015 23:11

Hope you feel better Pear. Great link Dougal.. I took a year plus (mostly whilst bf DD) to conceive DS. Until I remembered that it was this whole body approach, taking care of myself, that enabled me to conceive DD. v similar to this story. So I consciously went for that, stopped rushing around etc and DS quickly turned up. I really believe in this stuff! Do tho know how hard it is after a year of trying when dc2 not making an appearance. We have to have faith that he/she is waiting in the wings until the moment is right and we have space and strength.

DougalTheCheshireCat · 13/10/2015 16:27

Also, Pear, it might be worth checking out Ruth Crilly's blog. She runs one called A model recommends about make up etc, and had a baby this summer, so now has a baby one called The Uphill. I was browsing around them the other day and came across a very honest post from her talking about her struggles to conceive and what finally turned it around for her. It really resonated with me

'what he said to me has altered the whole way that I think about my body and my health: “how can you support a pregnancy,” he said, “if your body can’t even support itself?”.'

I'll see if i can find the link ok here it is

Personally, although i do get frustrated and worried that I'm not pregnant yet, i also see how much better I feel now than i did 3, 6, 9 months ago (originally i hoped to get pregnant in the winter for a baby this autumn). Maybe my body is ready for a pregnancy now, maybe there is more healing, preparation, recovery to do, I don't know, but i do know that's where i will focus my efforts.

DougalTheCheshireCat · 13/10/2015 16:16

Leamice - I've got the Duofertility monitor. Supposed to be v accurate. I got it because i couldn't get on with standard temping - i've had insomnia and just couldn't be doing with waking myself up at a regular time each day - if i can sleep later i really need to (at its height I'd often not go back to sleep if DD woke me at 4 o 5am, whereas other nights I'd wake with her earlier then not go back to sleep for two hours or more).

Also at the time i reckoned though pricey it was cheaper than the gynaecologist haha.

I noticed last cycle that the temp rise didn't coincide with when the gynae said I'd ovulated (i had the temp rise when i should have ovulated - she scanned me that day and said she didn't think it was going to happen, so gave me something to boost it, then scanned me three or 4 days later and said it had happened).

Having a few cycles off the gynae. Yes i maybe could ring and ask, or when life calms down a bit (moving house so our renovation can start in two weeks time) i will probably go and see her again.

Hi Iwant, Ive been taking B6, but 200mg, I read 100-400mg was suggested dose, I will see if I can find the website again and will share the link. Anyway, tbh, Im unsure if any supplements have had much affect on my cycles...

Sorry you're feeling down Pear, don't lose hope you never know it could be your lucky cycle. Flowers

cupcakes, thats a lovely end of breastfeeding story, well done :)

peardrop2 · 13/10/2015 08:07

Cupcakes - That does sound like a really nice transition. I love happy BF ending stories as its so hard for for it to end (for us too) Wink 2.7 is a brilliant age to achieve. Well done you!! And I really mean that ThanksBrew You're right...I am super stressed at the moment. I've been TTC for over a year now and it's got to me Sad I don't feel like I OV'd this month and the whole thing is just driving me crazy. I'm on 4dpo and I always enjoy this part where I try and switch off from it all but then I have my blood test to think about which is not very nice! I'll be glad when that is over. Anyway, like everyone has kindly said on here...at least I have put things into place to hopefully move my situation in the near future. I think my oven breaking down at the weekend tipped me over Grin I'll be OK! Wink

Hello, been floating around for some time. 27, DD14 months, AF returned 2 months ago, but see I have a short LP as I have been tracking. DD still feeds but only through the day.

On cd1 this month started taking 50mg vit b6 as last month I ovulated on day cd20.

CD 18 today and still no sign of ovulation :( . Anyone had any luck with vit b6?

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 12/10/2015 23:09

A really great age to get to with feeding, I hope that was clear!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 12/10/2015 23:08

Ah that's a really great age to get to! 2 years is my goal, not that it appears I have any say in the matter.

Yours just makes me want cake Grin

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/10/2015 21:08

that's he's 2.7. I've offered toy bribes before and he's never gone for it, so I think he was ready. His little face was a picture when DH gave him the duplo!

Every time I see your name I can hear Monica screaming at Rachel...Grin

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 12/10/2015 20:20

cupcakes that sounds like you've done it so kindly, well done. How old is your little one? My DS is currently feeding almost like a newborn except with added top pulling Hmm

ToElleWithIt · 12/10/2015 11:59

Good luck for Friday LetThereBeCupcakes That sounds like a really smooth transition with your DS. Good to hear it can be done relatively painlessly.

I meant to add my own update at the end of my post, but I forgot. I didn't do ov tests this month and have been just trying to DTD as much as possible from CD11 to CD20. Thought we must be done (I'm CD21 today), but still have EWCM so guess we'll give it another crack tonight. I'm knackered though!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 12/10/2015 09:44

Hi everybody. Just caught up with your updates.

Pear you sound really stressed. Sad are you OK? Tell me to bog off if I'm being nosey.

Welcome Ten - I agree you must have a good sleeper! I'm very jealous.

CD30 here. Expecting AF on Thursday. Been feeling sick every afternoon for the last 5 days but I've been on a really intensive course all week so think it's probably just stress. Will test on Friday if no sign of AF.

I think we might have finished BF. DS had his last feed on Sept 30th. I offered him a new Duplo set if he stopped having boobie. He was keen on the idea, though we've had a few wobbles since. Never for long though - I can distract him by looking at pictures of duplo sets online and he likes to choose which one he wants. He spent all week with grandparents last week so I didn't see him at all from Sunday-Friday and he was fine. DH is picking up the Duplo tonight so hopefully he'll be happy with that. Feeling a bit sad about it, but I think the time must have been right as it's been fairly painless (mostly!).

I went to a Baby and toddler second hand sale yesterday, representing the company that DS does swimming lessons with. I was surrounded by pregnant people and newborns.

ToElleWithIt · 12/10/2015 08:37

Best of luck Pear and Thats Fingers crossed that's you'll be cancelling the doctor's appointment. I bet you making the appointment i the push you need to get a bfp, that's the way it usually works right! At least you're being super proactive so you know what the next steps are.

Leamice Hope it isnn't too painful and I admire the positiveness!

Hope you're feeling better Clara

Dougal no idea on temping, but sounds like good progress on cutting down bf-ing.

tentothesix I'm a member of an extended bf-ing group and there was a poll on it and 11 months was the average time for periods to return. I was bang on average. Anecdotally the two girls I know who got theirs sooner both had babies who were brilliant sleepers. My son was a dreadful sleeper.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 11/10/2015 20:26

Just done an opk and there's barely a line. Must remind myself I wasn't meant to try this month!! I will be really tempted to opk next month especially seeing as my body doesn't seem to be corresponding with the app. Never temped, it seems quite complicated and a big commitment to do every day; definitely something to consider though for the future.

pear sounds great to make some positive changes to your lifestyle and it can only have a beneficial effect health wise. Glad you hear you sounding a bit better Flowers

peardrop2 · 11/10/2015 20:23

Thanks ladies Thanks There's nothing I can do now but wait it out. My head is still thinking that something is wrong with me like PCOS. We've decided to cut down dramatically on snacks and desserts at home. I weighed myself today and checked my BMI which is 25 so google is saying I'm not overweight. It will certainly be a tell tell sign if my bloods say that I have not ovulated this month!! It feels good to know that I have everything in place ready to take the next step with the two doctor appointments booked. DH has agreed that we can go to a private clinic open day if the GP is of no help.

That's - sounds very promising! Hope you've managed to dtd recently! Will you be tempted to buy ic opks next month or temp?

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 11/10/2015 19:40

So today is cd23 and I've just checked my app, I've had ewcm since cd19... My fertile period has basically been a week later than my app predicted (I know it's only guessing based on the average cycle). Who knows when to expect AF next. I wonder if I'd still be in with a chance this month...

Leamice · 11/10/2015 11:36

Hi Tento, welcome :) I wish I started thinking about ttc when DS was 4months :) I feel your pain with the long cycles, mine have been mammoth after DS, before though, I was regular 33 days. Basically, i think fertility before/after baby can differ greatly, could be much quicker than you think.
definitely get reading on ways to get cycle back if you are wanting to ttc soon as I know for many, thats what holds up proceedings. Good luck :)

Sorry you didn't get to DTDlast night Pear, hopefully you've already caught the egg, like you said in a previous post, ava only dtd once in her bfp cycle!!

Im currently experiencing the heaviest AF I've ever had! Horrific!! hopefully my uterus is just having a mega clear out ready to receive a nice fertilised egg this cycle - my positive spin haha!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 11/10/2015 07:22

Morning pear. Sorry you are feeling down. Maybe not a massive argument but certainly a conversation needed? I so hope this is your month.
