So, on the back of a run of rather fantastic success stories, it's time to start another thread for those of us still driving ourselves a bit nuts trying to work out why number 2 seems to be so elusive. New frustrated, obsessive testers always welcome (as are our lovely graduates) and let's hope this thread turns out as many success stories as the last.

Sounds ghastly - you're definitely due good luck soon wait FlowersFlowers

Waitandwine · 23/04/2016 10:53

Yes that was exactly what it was like, I think I got off lightly with the other two X

Metalhead · 22/04/2016 22:40

My mc was a bit like that wait, I had contraction-like cramps and even had to kind of 'push' when I passed the sac... [shudders at the thought]

At least you're getting referred now, and if it saves you the pain of another mc then it's probably worth the wait, though I can imagine how frustrating it is to be told not to ttc when all you want is to be pregnant again.

Waitandwine · 22/04/2016 17:27

Had the scan today and nearly everything has now passed.

I had contractions the lot on weds so knew had passed a lot then. Really strange as my other mc were nothing like this one. It was like early labour for two hours then over.

They said as I have had 3 mc now I will be referred for further investigation and not ttc before that happens, but can take months. we had just had the discussion that will defo would try asap again as we were so excited. So at 37 to be told to stop trying feels a little wrong, but should prob take their advice!

Have an appointment with gynaecologist in a few weeks so will ask their view then.

I think I'm due some good luck soon!

Metalhead · 22/04/2016 13:36

Good luck fruit, I'll keep everything crossed for you that it works!

little I'm so sorry to hear your second go at IVF also failed, you must be gutted. I wish there was something I could do or say to help... Sad

How are you holding up wait, did you have another scan today?

Welcome to the newbies, I hope you bring this thread the good luck it's been missing recently!

Fruitbatyogi · 22/04/2016 12:03

Thanks guys - it's a huge relief to have made the decision finally!

I'm doing a short protocol so start second week of May and about 2 weeks from then to transfer.

I went for the local clinic in the end which is the Agora in Brighton - results and cost are reasonable and convenience is high - ie can work and stim at the same time - not possible if I went to London.

little I would really like that nutrition stuff if you don't mind sharing, - shall I pm you my email?

Waitandwine · 21/04/2016 20:43

Excellent news Fruitbat, we'll have everything crossed for you. X

LittlePoot · 21/04/2016 19:45

Good for you fruitbat! When and where? Let me know if you'd like the zita west crazy nutritionist list of many supplements and dietary changes for ivf.....

Fruitbatyogi · 21/04/2016 18:22

Err that should be indecision..

Fruitbatyogi · 21/04/2016 18:22

Ok I division over I've booked the ivf cycle!

Fruitbatyogi · 20/04/2016 17:36

Thanks wait in the light of day - yes I think that it what DH thinks. Hard decision though high stakes, not that likely to work and costly!

Waitandwine · 19/04/2016 23:02

Sorry to hear that Rosalie, hope the X-rays bring better news.

Fruit, that is a lot of pressure on you, but on the positive side, he hasn't said no. Do you think he is saying that to make sure it's what you really want to do, but if you do go ahead he would support? Hope you feel brighter in the morning x

Fruitbatyogi · 19/04/2016 22:04

Welcome rosie
We must surely be due some good news round here...

Sorry to hear about the ivf little sounds horribly disappointing:(

Sending speedy wishes wait keeping my fingers crossed Cake

I'm pretty miserable too sadly DH has basically told me that he will do ivf if I want to but it's my responsibility (as I want it and he is satisfied with status quo) and that includes any bad outcome - I feel like j can't take all of this responsibility alone so just feel sad as I can't share it. Bugger hoping to feel better in the morning.

RosalieR · 19/04/2016 18:18

Hope it doesn't last too long, wait.

Rescan said thick endometrium again so xrays next. Grr...

Waitandwine · 19/04/2016 16:00

Welcome RosalieR, let's hope you can help turn around the recent run of bad luck and we start getting some good news. We are definitely due a change in luck so maybe it's the best time to come aboard!!!!

Hope your rescan went ok X

I have started with a light bleed today so hoping that things will resolve themselves naturally and quickly.

RosalieR · 18/04/2016 21:16

Thanks Little (sorry, quick name change there from amie). Yeah I read through the thread and saw some happy stories but also saw some of you have been having a horribly tough time lately :-( It's helpful to see the ups and downs to remember there will be ups again for many people. Thanks for the welcome and I'm sorry the ivf hasn't been going to plan. Good luck with whatever you decide.

LittlePoot · 18/04/2016 20:56

Hi amie. Of course you are very welcome to join but I'm sorry you find yourself in this position. And sorry to hear about your mc. I'm afraid you've caught us at a rather low point - if you'd like some inspiration I'd recommend you have a quick look back at the previous thread and read the last couple of pages which were full of delighted pregnancies, some that had been very long in coming. Many are now new (and not so new) squishy babies so a lot more full of hope than us just now! But do stick around - its a great place to unload with a lot of people who have a pretty good idea what you're going through.

Hi guys,

Hope it's ok to join. I've been ttc for 16 months now, ds took 9 months but finding it harder this time. Had an early mc last month so trying to pick up healthy living motivation again this month after a few weeks of saying it. I had a scan in Jan which suggested an overly thick endometrium, being re-scanned again tomorrow so we'll see. Gynae thinks I'll get pg by myself but that sounds like a fob off from all your posts.

Sending healthy wishes to everyone!

Waitandwine · 18/04/2016 17:21

Thanks both.

Wishing you lots of luck with the clomid Village.

It does help to write things in here as it helps me to be more objective about my situation, as to be honest I am doing everything to stop myself getting a private scan as a second opinion (yes kidding myself I know!!!!)

VillageFete · 18/04/2016 10:52

Hi everyone, long time no speak. I'm so sorry wait and little It is all just so cruel. I really hope all of us get our happy ending soon.

I'm on my first cycle of clomid, as with having PCOS I don't ovulate every month. I have been given 4 months worth, but the Consultant said if I haven't conceived within these 4 months then it's unlikely I will, and it will be chalked down to "unexplained infertility" Praying it works.

BurningGubbins · 18/04/2016 08:35

Sorry to hear your news Wait and Little. I was wondering the other day how your IVF was going.
You both seem remarkably stoic about it all, but making your decisions about next steps must be so hard. Good luck both.

Waitandwine · 17/04/2016 20:49

Thanks Metal and Little. I am trying to just get through this week so we can move on...again!

I am so sorry to hear your news Little, I know what you mean about it being a relief as it takes over every thought, decision, even dreams. But it's such a difficult decision to make, I am not sure what we will do. DH said he'd really like to try again if the news on Friday is not great (which I think it likely)

LittlePoot · 17/04/2016 19:14

I'm so sorry wait - what a horrible time for you. And worse to have to wait another week to be sure as will. Its been a long time since my last miscarriage but I do still remember how awful it feels. I wish we could speed things up for you so you were through to the other side. Sad

No good news here either. 2nd cycle went the same way as the first. We got more eggs, more fertilised and more blastocysts, but the chromosomal tests still all came back broken. That was about a week ago so I've been pretty up and down. Now I just don't know what to do next. 41 eggs they've had out of me now for the ivf and not a single one has managed to make a normal embryo. Its really not looking very likely for baby number 2 is it?! Maybe it's time to cut my losses and move on. Not that I know how, obviously. But a big part of me thinks it would be a massive relief to try.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this wait, been there myself and know how shitty it is to be in limbo. I'll keep my fx that you're dates are slightly out, but you're probably wise not to get your hopes up too much.

Sorry you're still waiting for that BFP too fruit, it's a very hard decision to make whether to go for IVF or not. I don't know what we would've done if it had come down to it in the end... but I'm sure you will make the right decision for you.

Waitandwine · 16/04/2016 18:17

Thanks. We have been trying to work out if the dates could be wrong, but that would mean I tested + on 5 dpo which I thought was not possible as the levels of HGC would not have kicked in, also the scan would still be 7 days out, so a heartbeat should have been seen.

It's a hard decision to make, I don't envy you. Fingers crossed for you xx
