So, on the back of a run of rather fantastic success stories, it's time to start another thread for those of us still driving ourselves a bit nuts trying to work out why number 2 seems to be so elusive. New frustrated, obsessive testers always welcome (as are our lovely graduates) and let's hope this thread turns out as many success stories as the last.

Congratulations Fruitbat! I don't MN that much at the moment but thought I'd check back in. Lovely to hear you and Metal doing so well. Minigubbins is 14 months now and getting into everything!

Metalhead · 21/05/2017 08:32

Congratulations fruit, so happy to hear your update! Smile Enjoy those baby snuggles, seems like ages ago already for me... DD2 is coming up to 18 months and an absolute whirlwind!

Fruitbatyogi · 20/05/2017 21:20

Just thought I'd update
My lovely little girl was born at 38 weeks ( decided to pre-empt the elective section- the pixi)

She is now a lovely 3 month old who is the most settled baby out there Smile.

Lots of love to you all this thread really helped my sanity.

blackcherries · 09/01/2017 18:02

So, who's still on this thread? We are going ahead with ivf as soon as we can. Not trying to get hopes up too much, and already impatient at what a long process it all is! This month or next is possibly our last attempt at trying naturally for a bit.

Waitandwine · 30/11/2016 14:51

Oh Little, i am sorry the IVF didn't work for you. I totally understand what you mean by finding peace with it. this is our final roll of the dice and we have agreed max 3 rounds or a miscarriage and it's all over. It influences so many decisions we are making at the moment that we need a clear 'stopping' point.

Totally agree with being lucky enough to have one. I have to say the more this goes on the more I appreciate her in a weird way - just need to resist spoiling her too much!!!

blackcherries · 30/11/2016 00:26

Littlepoot oh no, I was hoping to hear good news from you. Thanks for the update. You have been through so much. Glad to hear you are moving on though and it's a way to find some peace. I have lots of friends who are stopping at one child, mostly through choice but some through circumstance. There are lots of positives even if it's not what you originally imagined.

LittlePoot · 29/11/2016 22:33

Hi lovely people. No good news coming from here I'm afraid. Well, not that kind anyway. Three unsuccessful rounds of ivf this year and I'm finally throwing in the towel. Ds is now almost 6, I have a new and full time job, and we're done. Now we've made the decision, it actually isn't so bad. Occasional pangs of sadness but mostly overwhelming relief that I'm not putting myself through any of that again. And by 'that' I mean the fertility treatment and all the craziness of ttc, but also the pain, sleeplessness and likely pnd that would accompany me having a newborn again. Being a family of 3 isn't so bad - I guess I've finally found some peace. New year's resolution is to clear out all my maternity and baby stuff so that might still be really tough, but in general I'm just moving on.

Sorry - entirely me, me, me post. I hope you're all well and I hope things eventually work out one way or another. In the meantime, hold on extra tight to those babies we've thankfully already managed to have. x

Welcome black cherries, sorry you are on this thread, it's rubbish isn't it. I have got to the point now when people ask when number two is coming I say we are struggling, it's amazing how many people actually are or have had difficulties conceiving.

I am determined I will bring some good news to this thread soon!!!

blackcherries · 29/11/2016 19:34

Just scanned this thread and I'm in the same boat, but glad to see there was some good news on it at least. I think I'm in every thread going but I need a place to unload and read to pass the time during the tww when time seems to slow down!

3rd friend from NCT group had her 2nd baby yesterday so feeling quite down in the dumps (obv delighted for her and safe arrival of baby though)

Waitandwine · 29/11/2016 18:48

Just checking into see if there are any updates?

On my last month of clomid with no joy so far. We have caved in a I think we are going to try ivf in the new year, I completed all the forms today and have an appointment with the consultant in Jan. Let's hope it's a lucky Christmas for me this year and it's not needed

Xx

Metalhead · 27/09/2016 15:51

Hi all, lovely to hear some updates from people! fruit that's fantastic news about your scan, I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes as smoothly and you'll be holding you little girl in your arms before you know it!

wait I hope the clomid and progesterone does the trick for you, do let us know how you get on. Got everything crossed for you! Also good luck to you still, hopefully your GP will be able to point you in the right direction for further steps.

My DD2 is now 10 months old, and time has just absolutely flown by, I can't believe my baby will be 1 in December!! Shock

BurningGubbins · 26/09/2016 16:12

Fingers crossed for you Wait. I've met a lot of people lately who have has issues but got there in the end with a bit of intervention.

20 weeks Fruitbat! That's gone quickly. Congratulations on your girl.

Waitandwine · 24/09/2016 22:38

Fantastic news that your scan went well and a little girl- how wonderful. I am thrilled for you.

Fruitbatyogi · 23/09/2016 15:58

Hello wait and welcome stilltrying,

Glad you've got a plan wait - for me life is always better with a plan.

Sorry you're here still in the nicest possible way - it's a miserable thing trying and trying.

I'm now 20 weeks - scan all fine - little girl :) have finally begun to look a the baby stuff in the loft. Still can't believe I can get to use it rather than give away or sell which I was so tempted to do.

Best wishes and holding my thumbs for luck for you all xxx

Waitandwine · 23/09/2016 13:14

Hi, I went to the GP first who referred me to the infertility clinic at the local hospital, it is them who have prescibed it for me x

StillTryingHard · 23/09/2016 09:41

Hi wait - can I ask about the chlomid. Did you ask your GP straight out for it - how did you get it without it being linked to IVF? I've been looking for this answer online but not quote cracked the process of getting it. I am long time TTC number 2 ( DS is 8)

StillTryingHard · 23/09/2016 09:39

Hi

Waitandwine · 22/09/2016 17:45

Thought I would check back in and see how everyone is going?

great to hear pregnancy is going well fruit, delighted for you. And Burning, you probably have a six month old now!!

I'm now on clomid (to try and get preg) and progesterone (to try and keep it) so gonna give it another few months. Then I think we'll end up trying IVF, we just can't really afford it at the moment. DH really wants another now so actually now asks about 'dates for his diary' to try and be at home as he works away! This is quite a difference from last year when he thought it was all overkill and would 'just happen'!!

Hope you are all ok xxx

BurningGubbins · 25/08/2016 11:18

Ah, just saw this. Glad to hear all is well. I couldn't believe it either, and still don't sometimes - DS is now 5 months!
Hope everyone else is doing OK too.

Fruitbatyogi · 17/08/2016 20:14

Still doing ok - now 14+5
Harmony low risk, normal 12 week scan - big baby they would have re- dated by a week if not Ivf.

Sickness now mostly gone.
I do feel hugely lucky and still can't quite believe it, fingers crossed firmly still.

Hope you are all ok out there as this thread seems to have died a natural death. Xxxx

BurningGubbins · 25/06/2016 18:07

How's it going Fruit?

LittlePoot · 02/06/2016 20:39

Fruit - that's fantastic!! Well done! Hope the drugs weren't / aren't too nasty and I really hope it's a good one. x

Waitandwine · 01/06/2016 23:46

Oh wow Fruit you must be so excited. Have everything crossed for you, keep us updated x

BurningGubbins · 01/06/2016 18:51

Congratulations! Keeping everything crossed for you!

Fruitbatyogi · 01/06/2016 14:22

Ok, thought first round of ivf went pretty dismally - 4 eggs collected but only 1 fertilised normally, 6 cells and grade 2.5 - tbh looked pretty fragmented on the pic so I think 2.5 was generous... Was not even planning to try a second time as so dismal did I feel.

However today at 9dp3dt - started salivating excessively ( only early pregnancy symptom with DD)

So did an frer - mainly to stop my self imagining stuff and bingo bfp straight up not even faint!

OMG - fingers now firmly crossed
