Welcome to the thread for TTCers who track too much, spot to much and use most of our expendable income in Internet Cheapies.

Cycle 5 or 55 we don't care this is a place for your hopeful twaddle and necessary pre-conception ranting.

been trying religiously, and very hard, for over 2 years now, in all that time, i have only 'caught' once at the end of march, but it ended in an MMC in may (blighted ovum)

i take so many supplements, i rattle as i walk, ive lost weight, stopped drinking, have sex when i should,...pretty much like all of you, but time is ticking on...im 44 now and my youngest is 5 (this has been a very much planned and wanted pregnancy as a sibling for my youngest, that was near to his age, as the next one up is 12, but at this rate, it will be the same or a larger age gap!!)

hubbys sperm had been tested and is just over borderline low, so nothing can/will be done unless we pay for it, which isnt an option....my age and the fact i already have children also precludes me from any fertility treatment on the NHS - quite rightly so, as I know im extremely lucky to have the 5 i do have, but i always wanted 6, and just feel that my family isnt complete yet)

my heart goes out for hubby, because not only does he feel emasculated, he also feels so bad that he cant give me the one thing my heart desires.

in our more desperate moments, we have even discussed finding a 'friend with benefits' that would agree to help. Shock

MrsP you could be right, Im thinking of giving it till christmas, then laying off the temping, all of the supplements (except folic acid) and deleting my fertility friend and period tracker apps and just forgetting all about it....well as much as my symptom spotting habit (imagination) will allow LOL

Posted pic of my too small wedding dress on the weddings section if anyone fancies a nosey :)

Elizarome · 09/09/2015 11:43

Hi MrsP and thank you for the POAS insight! Congratulations on reaching the 12-week milestone - how exciting! I wish you the very best of luck for Thursday and will be checking back here for your update. Really sorry to hear about your MS, though. I'm fortunate to have no experience of it but I do know how debilitating it can be. I have my fingers crossed for you and hope Thursday is a good day all 'round.

chelle I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through. I hope you have the support you need and I know you have the strength to handle it. Keep going as best you can - there's only one way forward and you're doing amazingly well.

LOD Mittelschmerz is just a term to describe the ovulation cramps that some women can experience. Literally translated it means 'middle pain' (i.e. pain in the 'middle' of your cycle). I'm still a POAS neophyte, though, and am currently totally confused as to why I keep getting negative OPKs (using the Boots ones and apparently with those, a faint line just means nothing - I checked the box more carefully last night) when there is very definitely something going on down there (heaven only knows what)! Feeling decidedly menstrual both emotionally and physically but only CD15 so hoping to ovulate soon - no idea what my luteal phase is yet...

chelle792 · 08/09/2015 21:15

Mine was supposed to be last week and I know that there was one good scan from our lot on Monday. So just Thursdays to go. Also another recent miscarriage for another one of us. (been pming a few as this thread is emotionally a bit much atm)

I might dip out for a while. I'm feeling like shit.

Toffee, feel free to pm me for wedding chatter. Could probably do with the distraction.

LastOneDancing · 08/09/2015 20:44

Ooh good luck on Thursday MrsP!

Hey Fatty, all fine here Thank you. Had my 12 week scan yesterday and saw our uncooperative little alien blob. It was a huge relief and I can finally crack out my maternity jeans.
How long have you been trying now?

TAM I caught first time with DS so it certainly happens - and incredibly sore boobs was the giveaway, all.up into my armpits! DH was most disappointed that the shagathon was so short lived... Good luck.

Eliza WTF is mittelshmirtz??? Sounds hideous! ShockGrin

MrsPCR · 08/09/2015 16:38

Welcome newbies! Eliza if the opk was out feint, it normally needs to be as dark or darker than the control to count as positive. Til then it's just suggesting a build up, which obviously is a good start. The cramping is normal around ov and you find you're a lot more aware of these pains when TTC.

Fattyfishwife maybe giving up is a good idea as that's often when it happens if you get what I mean. Wink

I'm getting bored of my MS. Most days I'm sick but the. Random days like today I'll be almost fine and can eat! I normally pay for that tomorrow. Obviously grateful pf the odd 'better' days but sick of the lack of consistency! 12 week scan Thursday. Excited and nervous! Should there not be some others of the original lot due their 12 week scans too?

Good luck symptom spotting and refraining from POAnything. I think it's been 10 days since I last pissed on a stick just for the hell of it. Feeling withdrawals!

Elizarome · 08/09/2015 14:33

Could I join you ladies?

I'm 31, OH also 31. We got married last month and are planning to TTC #1 at the start of October (start of my next fertile window). I'm pretty sure I ovulated yesterday though and it seems to have sent my maternal instincts into overdrive - am now the proud owner of my very first set of OPKs and am beset by a manic urge to fiddle about with my newly-registered Ovia account every waking minute Blush. So I think I may be a good fit here!

Quick question if I may - I've definitely been feeling the Mittelschmerz over the last few days and had a positive (though faint) OPK yesterday evening, so pretty sure that was my ovulation day. With my newly-heightened paranoia awareness, though, I'm a bit concerned that ovulation/early luteal should, maybe, not be quite this crampy? It's not too bad but definitely very menstrual-feeling, so I suppose I'm just looking for reassurance that this is totally fine?! We haven't started trying yet so I'm pretty sure there's no implantation going on down there!

Phew, if you made it through that then thanks and very best of luck to all! Xx

simplydivine05 · 07/09/2015 21:25

How long have you been trying Fatty?

FattyFishwife · 07/09/2015 21:02

welcome TAM

ive noticed ive had sore/stingy/fizzy boobs since i got pregnant in april....so every month i cling onto that as a symptom....but it just doesnt go away in between times...daft I know

Ive had a bit of a down day today, and been wondering just how much longer to give it, before giving it us as a lost cause :/

simplydivine05 · 07/09/2015 16:22

Well I had another bfn yesterday when I thought I was 11dpo. However, I don't know if my app is calculating my ov date correctly as other calculators are saying the following day or even the day after that. With my last three cycles all being different lengths I don't even know when af is due. Between Wed and Sat! I may be 10dpo today or I may be 12. I'm thinking that if this isn't my month I should start temping. Maybe it will help my ott symptom spotting as I will have a better idea of where I am in my cycle! I'm trying to not test until Wed now. Had a minor leaky boob the last couple of days but not sure if that's a sign. Had a really bad migraine attack over the weekend and have just suffered with a headache today. Roll on Wed!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 07/09/2015 14:55

Hi all,

Mind if I hop in? I've been reading the last few pages and my heart just absolutely goes out to you chelle. I hope you and DH are finding your way through this difficult, horrible time and you can both look forward to brighter times ahead - especially with wedding so soon! I'm a part-time Bridal Consultant at a wedding shop, and am pretty clued into all things weddings so do feel free to give me a shout if you need any suggestions or even just someone neutral to rant/vent to!

FattyFishwife · 07/09/2015 13:06

LastOneDancing · 05/09/2015 19:02

Hi all
Sorry I've been away for ages - I've not really used MN too much since they deleted the app but just checked in to say hi.

chelle I'm so sorry to hear your sad news and I'm sorry there's nothing I can say to make it better. So glad to hear that your DH is sticking close, he sounds like a great support x

Ah fatty. How disappointing Flowers

Mrs D, I still love the sound of your wedding! I'm doing bugger all for mineBlush mum is now requesting button holes. With the week I've had I just want to tell her where to shove it Grin

TheNewMrsD · 05/09/2015 00:44

Chelle, Weddings turn mothers into nightmares, Mother of the Bridezilla. It's their day too ;-)

I planned lots of handmade things at my wedding such as bunting, teacup candles and napkin rings. I took the pressure off myself by telling myself if it didn't get done nobody would notice as they weren't to know they were supposed to be there. My mom just kept going on about how nice it would be to have all things things..... Well obviously I knew that that's why I thought about it in the first place. It just put the pressure straight back on. It did all get done and looked amazing but it would have been more helpful if my mom didn't put the pressure on!

Good luck with all the plans and the dress shopping x

FattyFishwife · 04/09/2015 19:12

well the ever not so welcome AF popped by for her 4 day visit today...yay....NOT!

big hugs for you chelle xxxx

welcome to the noobs and waves to the regs xxx

chelle792 · 04/09/2015 13:47

Thanks Lou, very much appreciated. I hope the dress shopping will be a healing experience. I can't fit in to my original dress because I put on baby weight but now can't have the maternity dress I planned to buy. Catch 22

Lou13e · 04/09/2015 01:21

Hey chelle, I'm not going to insult you to say I know how you feel as I don't, just know that we are all here for you if you need us, sure it's natural to lean heavily on your oh, you need each other, look after yourself and enjoy shopping x

chelle792 · 03/09/2015 18:29

Sorry posted too soon.
Reaching out for OH to check he's still there. He went to work for a couple of hours today and it's just awful being away from him.

We are going to try again after the wedding in Nov but I'll still hang around on here. I'm going wedding dress shopping (again) next Friday to pick something. Have upset mum by insisting on going on my own though!

chelle792 · 03/09/2015 18:26

Just dropping in to say hey. Worst week of my life so far but a big Thanks to the lovely lady on this thread who popped me a pm to drag me back into the open.

I find myself waking up in the middle of the night and reaching out ofor OH to

simplydivine05 · 03/09/2015 13:40

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to ttc and jave only read the last couple of pages of this thread. I just wanted to say, Chelle, I'm sending love and hugs your way xxx
We're in our third month but really only the first proper attempt this cycle. I have one ds who's 7 from a previous relationship.
I am currently 8/9 dpo and had bfn this morning with fmu on a sensitive internet cheapie. Not temping or using opks so not 100% sure of my ovulation day. I did have regular cycles at 27 days but last month was 30 (symptom spotted like mad and convinced I would get bfp!) and month prior was 28 days. App calculated ovulation as last wed but I had what I think we're ovulation pains on Tues. Not sure if they were as not noticed before!
Anyway, here's to bfps!

MrsPCR · 02/09/2015 18:13

Fattyfishwife I got BFN 3 days before and then only just a v feint BFP the day before. Keeping everything crossed for you. You are still in!

TheNewMrsD · 02/09/2015 10:08

Don't give up hope Fatty, my BFP was really really faint with a first response on the day of my missed period and that's assuming I ovulated a week later than normal..... I might have been a week late and only just got a faint positive. It'll be good to find out my actual dating next Monday at my scan!

Good luck x
