London - you don't get symptoms until a couple of days after implantation (6-12 DPO) because implantation triggers the production of HCG and until there's HCG there's nothing to cause symptoms.

My AF/post CP bleed seems weirdly short. Started on Monday, heavy and painful and then medium flow Tuesday, light flow Wednesday, spotting overnight. Usually my periods are 6-8 days!

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 16/07/2015 07:10

london I'm with you on te patience this cycle. 6dpo but expecting af imminently due to short lp. Temp drop today so don't think the progesterone worked. Boo. Wish it was next week already.

Londonlady2015 · 16/07/2015 07:05

Hey
banana fair play. To be honest I have no idea, although yes does seem early. Am disappointed with self for being so impatient! Thanks for the fx though. I need to chill - this is cycle one and need to get it into my head that it's likely to be a longer term process.

On another note re drinking - my work social circles it's almost impossible not to be teetotal without being noticed. Boss called me unsociable last night Wink but I'm the one with a fresh head (nursed one wine) while they all did shots!

Have a good day all

Banana79 · 16/07/2015 00:19

Why so despondent London? You wouldn't expect symptoms yet anyway would you? Fingers crossed for you...it's not over for this month yet Smile

Londonlady2015 · 15/07/2015 22:23

Evening all
5 DPO and apart from mild pelvic cramps, nothing. Have it in my head that I'll get AF this time next week and just have to make sure I'm cool about it. Am annoyed with self for getting so obsessed about the whole thing Sad

pingoose · 15/07/2015 22:05

Hi all! Kind of dropped off the July bus, because life happens :) But I'm back on and ready to go! Heading off on our honeymoon next Saturday so fingers crossed! Also might try SMEP if we can.

Wow some dedicated shift workers on here! I'm very grumpy on nights and banish DH and DS from the house for as much time as possible during the day! ????

Spotsondots · 15/07/2015 21:12

Banana I feel your night shift related pain. I work nights and it always seems to coincide with a good time for TTC. For example this past weekend would have been good for getting some DTD underway but was wrecked by my three night shifts ???? sigh. Added to DHs working away several nights a month lately and my irregular cycle it's little wonder we aren't getting too far with a BFP!

Just catching up on the wine chat...

Banana79 · 15/07/2015 20:44

Wow glitter that is dedication! OH is trying to finish work early so fingers crossed! Just have to stay awake...zzzz

I'm afraid I'm still enjoying some wine Wine Wine . I've told myself if no bfp by my 36th birthday at the end of Aug, I'll ditch it.

IrisPurple · 15/07/2015 19:54

Marmite/Glitter (what a bizarre combination lol) you're right, the man needs to watch his boozing too! Since I've been tee-total he has automatically been drinking less as there's no point him getting drunk without me! He does appreciate the need to cut down but it's difficult when all his mates are big drinkers.

As for me I love wine but wine doesn't love me! I can't drink too much at once as it makes me feel so rough, but I do miss the glass of wine with a meal, g&t on a summers' day etc. At least we get to drink as a consolation when we get our AF! Wine

More video-conferencing is better for the company carbon footprint and CSR targets...

KittyandTeal · 15/07/2015 19:18

Oh boo. That really is rubbish.

A nice wake up call for dh when the baby is napping I don't know what I'm saying really, dd1 didn't 'do' proper naps until 18mo or so

MsGlitterJunkie · 15/07/2015 18:57

Oh nooooo banana how frustrating!! Nightmare!! Can you jump on him as soon as he comes home?
I've been there so know how you feel - my fiancé and I travel a lot for work so there's been a lot of careful planning ahead, 2am/3am/4am alarm clocks set so we can do the business before one of us jets off. I also may or may not have fabricated reasons not to travel during my fertile period.....thank God for video-conferencing! Don't despair though, there's always a chance that you'll ovulate tomorrow or even the day after - chin up, all is not lost!

Banana79 · 15/07/2015 18:50

unfortunately, at the moment the baby is waking up at 4am every day Kitty! Sad

KittyandTeal · 15/07/2015 18:46

How annoying. Night shifts are the worst. I've been waking my dh up while he's sleeping during the day for a quick one while dd1 is napping.

Time for dtd tmrw morning?

Banana79 · 15/07/2015 18:40

So I've just got the darkest line I've ever had on an IC (although it's still not darker than the control line tbh) and I have a mild pain in my left side (also had this month before last) and I've had ewcm for a few days....and OH is on the blooming night shift arrrrrgh Angry Angry Angry

KittyandTeal · 15/07/2015 17:26

My dh has given up drinking this time. We were both very drunk when dd2 was conceived and I know it had nothing to do with her T18 but he says he wants to do it 'right' this time.

He's also taken to sleeping without pants on so he can keep his testicles cooler. I'm not sure it'll make a difference but it helps him feel like he's doing something.

KittyandTeal · 15/07/2015 16:54

I'm not a big drinker but I've totally stopped (mainly because if I have one I'll have loads) saying that I had quite a few at a wedding this wknd.

I'm pod7 and I feel like I'm about to get my period. Really disconcerting. I'm desperately trying not to symptom spot though.

MsGlitterJunkie · 15/07/2015 16:45

Princes, I have to fly frequently because of my job and see very young babies onboard all the time, was on a 12 hour flight just last week and there was a 9 week old baby on board accompanying it's parents on honeymoon!

Emily boo, I'm sorry af arrived.

Iris & Auf I think it's just that some people do fall pregnant so easily and it's therefore expected that it's the same for everyone and because no-one talks about any issues/ difficulties the myth that it's easy peasy is perpetuated. What's that you say? Vicious circle? Yip. I personally feel a bit embarrassed/ bit of a failure that it's not been straightforward - not easy things to discuss with friends.

Emu I've been through phases of drinking nothing at all and phases of drinking whenever I fancied and it hasn't made a blind bit of difference but then again I'm not a big drinker - my idea of drinking of whenever I fancy means 1 glass or max 2 glasses per week. When af arrives I go mad and might have two glasses in one night, I know, wild.

I too heard that it's more important for men to not drink excessively so as to not affect sperm quality. My fiancé likes a drink so there have been some....erm, spirited debates about this subject!

marmitemofo · 15/07/2015 15:04

before anyone panics though, I think it's only really heavy drinking etc that matters Confused

marmitemofo · 15/07/2015 15:00

on the subject of giving up alcohol, I actually think it makes more of a difference for DP/DH to cut down. I read recently that alcohol/smoking/drugs can alter sperm and increase mutations which can affect chances of conceiving/mc. since sperm is made all the time though, it only matters around the fertile window. I'm lucky in that neither me or DP really drink anymore so I didn't have to nag (hate that word) DP to stop/cut down since he probably only has a drink a couple of times a month anyway

CarrotVan · 15/07/2015 14:47

CD3 for me too and I had wine at lunch (work celebration)...

marmitemofo · 15/07/2015 14:46

princes I'd also say go for it - I flew with DD when she was 9 mths old (and again at 11 mths) and was a bit of a nightmare as was difficult to get her to sleep. meanwhile a fellow mother was flying alone with toddler and v small baby in sling - by herself with no DH! it definitely looked easier - toddler was easily distracted by ipad, baby slept/fed the whole time. so I think best to travel with either v young or older toddler. 3 months sounds fine.

emu I give up drinking entirely when TTC mainly out of paranoia and to try to be as healthy as possible (though I did have a beer when AF showed up to deal with the disappointment). I don't think you need to do it though - I mostly did it for peace of mind.

Emu123 · 15/07/2015 14:03

Hi ladies, CD3 for me - boring part of the cycle!

What are your thoughts on giving up alcohol totally (eeek!) I've cut down since we started ttc and now only drink once or twice a week but I've read cutting out completely can help..!?

birchygoo · 15/07/2015 13:57

princes how can it be considered bad to take a kid abroad - people do know that babies are born in these countries!!
You will have more time to spend with your kids as you will not have mundane day to day tasks. I say go for it!

Welcome to the bus everyone!
