So, after 9 years together me and dh have decided to start trying. Last AF ended 29th June, I should be ovulating any day now. Very new to all this ttc malarkey so no idea what we're doing really!

I'm already making myself worry about a BFN in a couple of weeks. Didn't think I was that broody but it's all I can think about! Anybody else feeling/felt the same??

Xx

Layla welcome!!

Congratulations custard! Wow first month of trying,no wonder your shocked. Hope this is first of many for us ladies!!

Bear I'm from the midlands too :-) x

custarddots · 25/07/2015 22:39

E11 - Good spot on the ovulation test. I actually did that first thinking, as I mentioned, that perhaps I was ovulating late so was encouraged by the positive line.

However when I noticed the line on the preg test, I googled and apparently the ov test horomes are also present when you get pregnant so you get a BFP for both.

We are truly in shock as this is our first month trying! I know, I make myself sick!!

I am now wishing you all the greatest luck and will be keeping an eye.

Come on Spring 2016 babies!!

xx

iamabear · 25/07/2015 22:04

Congrats custard! So excited for you.

Welcome Layla, fingers crossed for you.

So I woke this morning to AF, on what I believe is only 7 days past ovulation. Boooo :-(
I'm hoping that it is only because it's my first month off the pill... I'm going to have to use opks next month to confirm when I think I'm ovulating is correct... If it is then it looks like I have a short luteal phase :-(
Who know's what's going on. It feels like it's witchcraft rather than science! Oh well we're having a BBQ tomorrow to celebrate my brother's engagement so at least I can knock the Pimm's without fear!

Pixie we're from the Midlands xx

That's amazing news Custard, so happy for you xx

alwaysinapickle · 25/07/2015 21:04

Congrats custard!! hopefully this is one of many for our thread xx

Laylaloo20 · 25/07/2015 20:50

Hi everyone, this is my first post on mums net. Hope you don't mind me joining? I'm ttc #1 and this month is out first cycle of trying. I am either 10 or 11 days PO. I got a bfn this am but I know it's still a bit early to test. Not getting my hopes up tho as no new symptoms compared to my normal around this time. I have a long cycle - about 35 to 37 days. Started tracking my period and symptoms on ovia last month and used opk this month too. From my symptoms and opk I think I have quite a long luteal phase...not really sure whether that's a bad thing or whether it doesn't matter. Congrats custard on your bfp! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Wishing you all a bfp soon!

E11Chick · 25/07/2015 20:27

Very odd you got a line on the ovulation test too though?! You must be over the moon so pleased for you! I'm holding out hope that I did test too early, I'm only 6/7 days dpo I think.....xx

So on that really faint line on the blue IP preg test we casually headed to Sainsburys. And then this happened.

I may just sit here crying for the next few hours!!

Hi all,

I am sorry to trample all over the discussion, but you're the only people I can share this with apart from DH!!

So this happened when I attempted to attach a photo.

Pixie1988 · 25/07/2015 19:10

Hey all,

Lily I'm doing okay, just trying to keep myself busy, however not been in the mood to Dtd over the last couple of days, but hopefully things will pick up.
Yes it would be nice to all keep it touch and go through the journey together.

If you don't mind me asking where is everyone from? X

custarddots · 25/07/2015 18:17

Okay not idea how to add phot on iPhone

custarddots · 25/07/2015 18:16

Interesting...I am weak and tested.

Green is ovulation, blue is pregnancy.

custarddots · 25/07/2015 18:06

E11 nooo. Let's just conclude that you are testing too early.

I'm now entering my own world of hell as I was feeling the usual pre AF intense Stomach cramps on Thursday night and again yesterday and thought well at least AF appears to be on time and therefore regulating. However, pains ceased last night and today I am perfectly fine. Boobs were sore over last couple of days. I've never experienced pains which disappear with no AF in sight. So now I am confused.

Could it be that I am only just ovulation now (I don't recall actually ovulating this month) or I am having spaced out PMS? Anyone ever had this?

lilygirl81 · 25/07/2015 17:52

Pixie how are you feeling? We lost our dog at the start of the year, she was my surrogate baby and it was awful.

We are down at my parents this weekend so my healthy eating, cutting out caffeine and not drinking has all gone wrong. My sister and BIL are here too so it's a bit of a party.
I'd love to keep this group going. I have 5 girls who I met on a forum when I was last trying, and did something similar to this thread. All of them have now had babies, and it's been lovely keeping in touch.

I'm hoping for maybe a sneaky dtd tonight, but even though I'm in my 30s and married, always awkward about dad in my parents house!

Alwaysinapickle sorry about AF

E11chick, that really early to test, try and hold off another few days Smile

alwaysinapickle · 25/07/2015 16:35

Hi all, welcome newbies.
Mermaid - I heard that those at home tests for OH aren't that reliable. Not sure how I'd approach that with my DH but I'd probably wait until I knew we were properly having issues rather than it be early in our quest to conceive.
AF arrived in full flow this morning as did the opk's I bought online.
Here's to next month x

E11Chick · 25/07/2015 15:56

So......I.gave in and got a bfn this morning but probably still about 5-7 days too early to test. Don't know why I do it to myself!

No normal AF symptoms yet but the last two days I've felt sick on and off all day and my boobs are still sore. Trying not to get my hopes up but its so hard not too symptom spot especially when AF hasn't made an appearance yet.

How is everybody else doing? X

Evening all.

Pixie- you poor thing!! Really feel for you Hmm. Welcome back to the board.

Emz and Pigeon - welcome Smile.

Pigeon- I have so much respect for anyone who has gone through MC. Best of health for this time.

EmzLou - having read your situation, big FXd for you

Mermaid - interesting that you ask about OH doing fertility tests. I was eyeing up one in Boots yesterday and was tempted to buy but decided as its only cycle 1 for us and presume you can do this at the doctors for free. Intrigued now!!

Mermaid36 · 24/07/2015 19:48

Good evening ladies! Jeez, I'm really feeling the hormones from coming off the pill. I've put half a stone on, I'm stupidly bloated and my boobs are really heavy...if I didn't know better, I'd say I was pregnant, but I've only been off the pill 5 weeks, with a BFN a week and a half ago. I'm missing my regulated hormone dose every day!

My question tonight is: has your partner done a fertility test? Here we are temping and logging and using OPKs etc, but technically, we've no idea whether our partners are fertile. I'm toying with the idea of buying a fertility test for hubby, but unsure how he'd deal with it.

Bluepigoon · 24/07/2015 19:00

Hi everyone, mind if I join in? I'm 32, DH is 34 and we're ttc #1 but have only been trying for a couple of months. First month I had m/c after 5 weeks, which has thrown my cycle a bit. I'm now on cd 37 of month 2 and think AF is finally turning up, so hopefully can start trying again soon. I'm not checking ovulation yet, but think I must be about 22 dpo, so wasn't holding out much hope for this month, just keen to get AF out of the way!

Fingers crossed for all of you :)

Emzlou15 · 24/07/2015 15:42

Hi,
I'm completely new to mumsnet and I hope this is the right place to post. Me and my husband have decided to start TTC #1. We've only been married 2 months but we've been together almost 5 years and although I'm young (22 in August) I have health issues that mean carrying a baby is safer and easier the younger I am. This is my first day off the pill so a few days to wait still before anything can potentially happen. I've started taking conception vitamins to make sure my body is healthy. Has anyone got any tips or advice as to when to start testing as I don't know when I'll get my first period or ovulation. Me and my hubby agreed that we were going to start off casually and not check when I'm ovulating or do the deed more than normal. To try and stay relaxed about everything.
Thanks for reading :)

Pixie1988 · 24/07/2015 14:58

Hi all, and welcome to the newbies! Seems like our group is growing :-)

sorry I haven't been on here for a few days, had some bad news, my pet rabbit was euthanised yesterday due to sudden life threatening condition, so feeling pretty shit at the moment. Trying to keep positive and upbeat. I need some good news! X

custarddots · 24/07/2015 14:04

Aw Inwaiting - so sorry to hear AF arrived! Don't abandon us.

If you ladies are good to keep going as we pass this first cycle, then it would be good to stay on this board.
I don't know about MN rules.

As we sit here, my stomach is cramping so waiting for AF any hour now ;( Big pants at the ready.

lilygirl81 · 24/07/2015 12:41

I agree mermaid, you spend so long thinking that one missed pill or accident and you will definitely fall pregnant...if only it was that easy!

E11Chick · 24/07/2015 11:11

Mermaids36 I couldn't agree more....How do they bloody do it?!
