So, after 9 years together me and dh have decided to start trying. Last AF ended 29th June, I should be ovulating any day now. Very new to all this ttc malarkey so no idea what we're doing really!

I'm already making myself worry about a BFN in a couple of weeks. Didn't think I was that broody but it's all I can think about! Anybody else feeling/felt the same??

Xx

So sorry Bear Sad. They had better not dare tell you to get stuffed. If they do tell them back and get a new Dr. I read elsewhere here that large doses of vit B6 can extend your luteal phase. I hope it is just to do with coming off the pill and that your cycles get a bit longer.

Booking in with the midwives today. Shock It felt real when I phoned the Drs yesterday. Like telling a grown up makes things official Grin.

iamabear · 01/09/2015 08:20

I spoke too soon Sad. Both months off the pill have now had 7 day luteal phases. That won't make a baby.

I have booked a GP appointment for next week but I'm fully expecting them to tell me to get stuffed :-(

iamabear · 31/08/2015 22:00

Congrats Brenna! When you described your symptoms it did sound like it would be good news!

Hi Amy, wishing you luck, your symptoms sound quite strong.

I'll be on 9 DPO by morning so I'm quietly joyous that I've managed to hold on to my luteal phase for at least 2 days more than last month. Gives me hope that if we have managed to fertilise an egg it will have the chance to get comfy... I was worried that my period would come too early again.

I feel wretched and am ridiculously bloated but no specific symptoms. My temperature dipped today so fingers crossed it goes back up tomorrow.

Hi Everyone,

Its my first post..... So be kind ????.

6 dpo- tiny specks of brown/red on tissue but only when wiping.

7 dpo- cramping on left side of lower tummy

8 dpo- slight sick feeling and slight cramping.

9 dpo- really sore boobs and nausea ????. Feel abit crappy.

Planning on testing in 5 days and will defo let you all know how i get on ????. Sparkly baby dust to everyone ????

Brenna24 · 30/08/2015 11:19

Thank you. It has been very quiet, hasn't it?

Emzlou15 · 30/08/2015 09:54

Congrats Brenna! So happy for you!
Not sure where everyone has vanished to?

Brenna24 · 28/08/2015 08:46

BFP this morning

First month TTC#1....anybody else new to this game?
Brenna24 · 27/08/2015 22:05

Fx for you bear I hope you get a BFP next week instead of AF.

I have my legs clamped shut and my pelvic floor squeezed. Nothing is getting out without my say so!!!

iamabear · 27/08/2015 21:45

Good luck Brenna! I've got my fingers crossed for you!
Let us know how you get on Casa!

I've just got my fingers crossed that AF coming at 7dpo last month was a one-off... that's all I'm looking out for at the moment! If I can get to this time next week without AF I'll be very happy indeed lol.

Brenna24 · 27/08/2015 08:50

I had a tiny bit more spotting when I wiped today then nothing again. I need to wait until Saturday or Sunday to be sure AF is not coming for a visit efre I POAS. Arrgh, the wait!!!!

Brenna24 · 26/08/2015 10:13

I thought AF has started yesterday, about 4 days early. I had about an hour of very light bleeding, then nothing until today, 2 drops is all I have today. That would make this month's sysle just 26 days which is very, very short for me. I am normally 30 or 31 but can be as little as 28 or as much as 32. Never this short. My boobs have been very sore since sunday and this is a new AF symptom for me. That has only started since we started TTC, I never had that before. I got it the 1st month of TTC too. If AF stays away today I may POAS tomorrow morning altough I am trying to leave doing that until saturday because I don't want to do it too early. Urgh. I wish it was more simple to tell.

Casa2010 · 25/08/2015 18:47

Ah bless you all, what a stressful time! Fingers crossed for some positive news!
I've still got cramps but they haven't been all day everyday since last week which was Mon-Fri. Only had one AF since coming off the pill so not 100% sure when it's due! My stomach is also feeling quite bloated and I've been a bit tired!

Emzlou15 · 23/08/2015 09:21

Hey guys, sorry have been quiet.
Hope everyone's doing ok
I'm still waiting to see signs of ovulation or period. I'm now 25 days since my Withdrawl bleed from coming off the pill and hoping I might ovulate soon. All OPK's have been negative so far. I kind of just want a period to happen to know where I stand in my cycle. Never wished to have a period before!

reesespieces · 22/08/2015 11:49

Hello everyone

Good luck to everyone who might be about to get some good news! I've been MIA due to the week from hell at work and also my password getting hacked so I lost this.

Lilygirl - hope your husband is on the way to feeling better.

My AF started two days early and was weird, a lot of spotting which I don't usually get and so far has also been lighter and longer than usual with a lot of new symptoms (but -ve tests) - having actual hormones in my system doesnt seem to agree with me at all! Hope everyone else is doing ok?

Brenna24 · 22/08/2015 11:00

I have cramps today too. AF not due until another week and I am roasting and clammy and have a backache. Trying not to symptom spot here. I have a cake to make for an 80th birthday party tomorrow and then I am off to go to see my sister for the last time before she flies off tomorrow so plenty to do to keep my mind off things.

Casa2010 · 21/08/2015 22:59

It is a bit quiet!!
My cramps are making me quite miserable now :-( not sure what its meaning!
Good luck!

iamabear · 21/08/2015 20:40

I wonder where has everyone else gone lol! Either they've all got pregnant in the last week or their thread subscriptions stopped when all the accounts were reset after the hacking.

I've got signs of ovulation which is enough to make me happy at the moment as hopefully it means everything is working as it should, albeit with a massive lag!

Really quite uncomfortable... not quite cramping, more like tenderness. I think my body is rediscovering what oestrogen is after all these years!

Keep us updated!

Casa2010 · 21/08/2015 12:12

They are either lucky/unlucky!!
I think I might just do that Smile yea I've found it confusing as well, we are fairly similar then being off the pill for a short amount of time, any signs for you as yet? Day 5 of cramping and still toileting lots! Feeling tired too but I'm sure its nothing major!

iamabear · 21/08/2015 07:54

I know! I actually can't fathom how people get pregnant from a one night stand! What are the chances!

Apparently in an average cycle of 28 days, ovulation usually takes place between days 13 - 15 so if I were you I would keep baby dancing for a few more days in case your body is playing tricks on you!

But if you have a browse of these threads you'll see some women ovulate on day 7 so anything's possible!

I've found it confusing when TTC straight off the pill as it's handy to know your cycle length so you know when to expect your period.

If don't know when your period should be coming but you think you ovulated at the weekend and you want to test for a pregnancy (poas - pee on a stick) then you need to wait until 12 dpo (days past ovulation) before there would be enough of the hormone to give you a positive result (if you are pregnant). I think Hmm that would be day 21 of your cycle for you. If you see 2ww written on here - it means 2 week window - the length of time between ovulation and testing where you can do nothing but wait!

But on the other hand try not to get your hopes up too much as it's also possible that coming off the pill will give you really long cycles for a few months... I've been off the pill 2 months and have ovulated on days 26 last month and 28 this month so it turns out any baby dancing earlier in the cycle will be just for fun!

Casa2010 · 20/08/2015 20:27

I believe day 13! I keep thinking no its not that quick..but OH says that one night stand pregnancies happen that quick!

iamabear · 20/08/2015 20:21

Thanks for the encouragement sunshine Smile.

That is so true about keeping the period issues and TTC business separate when talking to the doctor. I'll definitely keep that in mind!

Welcome Casa! That does sound intriguing. It would be amazing if you've caught lucky at the first attempt!... what day of your cycle are you on now? (counting from the first day of your period)... fingers crossed!

Casa2010 · 20/08/2015 19:18

Hello!! I'm new to this game also and slightly confused! We've only been at it for 2 weeks but with a slight pause as I came on the day after our first attempt, finished a week ago today and had some fun over the weekend and today is day 4 of stomach cramps and going to the loo a lot! Bit of spotting on Monday and Tuesday but not very much. Mega confused, only had one period since coming off the pill!
Sorry I don't know the lingo Blush

Brenna24 · 20/08/2015 17:01

Can someone please explain to my dog that i don't need practice in keeping my patience with a seemingly endless cycle of cleaning the floor/getting wakened up at stupid hours of the night/dealing with tantrums etc. I love the old git to bits and am worrying that this is the start of another decline for him.

Sunshinegirl2015 · 19/08/2015 08:07

Congrats Alpha! Amazing news!

imabear I thought that about doctors but my doctor has already referred me for an ultrasound scan and a second Pap test and I've been TTC since January. This is in part due to my painful periods which some months cause me to dry heave and faint but also because she knows I'm TTC so I'm very happy that if there is a problem like endo then I can get it sorted.

At first I don't think she took me seriously but I went back and said that take TTC out of the equation and it's not normal that my periods are that bad which is what I think made her take the next step. My previous doctor told me it was normal to have painful periods every so often and another doctor tried to tell me everytime that it was probably constipation!!

Good luck with doctors! Don't loose heart x

iamabear · 18/08/2015 18:10

Congratulations Alpha!

I popped back on this thread for a bit of moral support really, seeing as I can't discuss with anyone except my husband in real life!

Last month was my first off the pill and I had a 34 day cycle with possible ovulation around day 26 according to fertility friend which works it out from basal temperature, although the shift in temperature wasn't pronounced enough for it to give me a confident result.

This month I've been doing OPKs so that I could confirm what the graph was showing. However I've been testing since day 15 and it's already day 25 and no sign of anything, not even a pattern with my temperature this month Confused

I really want to go to the doctor after my next AF... I've heard they are really unsympathetic unless you've been trying for a year but surely if you suspect something is wrong they'll do some tests? My period has never been right. I went on the pill at 15 to attempt to have some regulation. I'm 31 now.

I've also come off my prescription for a mental illness whilst TTC (on the advice of the doctor) so surely they can't make me wait a year and then go, 'oh yeah, there is a problem after all'...

Ok, rant over Grin

Does anyone else have reaaalllly long cycles? So frustrating!
