Support, shoulders to cry on, virtual gin and the best cheer leaders MN can offer you. We've been there and it's awful but we'll help each other through to better times.

Can I just ask how long it takes for pregnancy symptoms like sore breasts to go away? Last time I had the erpc and the symptoms disappeared straight away but this time natural miscarriage.

Fruits, I know what you mean about the fear of a bfn. Good luck to all of you on you tww! Think sticky beans!

fruitlovingmonkey · 23/07/2015 22:26

Good luck paws, I don't blame you for having another try since you're feeling better... Besides, what else is there to do on bed rest Wink
Thanks Mummy but it's not willpower. I am a bit scared of the emotional impact of a BFN so I'm being a wuss. I have a lot riding on this cycle. For one thing it's my only chance to get to 12 weeks before my due date and I had a mmc at 12 weeks.
Morgan what a tough time you have had. Fx the meds work and you get to full term. Well done for making sense of all the contradictory advice, it sounds like a nightmare.

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 23/07/2015 20:54

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok? I'm feeling a little better now, still in bed resting....haven't used opks as was planning on having a break ttc, but couldn't resist when got a load of ewcm, dtd last 3 days....low and behold, intense ovulation pain today! Yay! On right side this time, last two mc's have been from left sided ovulation. Not sure if it will make much difference but we're hoping 3rd time lucky! Still going to go ahead with the fertility blood tests the doctor ordered, but in the mean time...who knows Smile

The 'not so planned' tww starts again!

MorganLeFey · 23/07/2015 17:53

The problem for recurrent miscarriages is all the specialists say something slightly different & some flat out contradict themselves! E.g. aspirin before BFP/after or not at all, progesterone from 7DPO or BFP & heparin or not.

All my standard NHS tests for the cause came back normal so it's experimental treatment anyway - so I've been reading around a bit & adapted my suggested plan to one I feel most confident with... & picking up a super early chemical preg wouldn't be good for my mental health right now! Smile

Emu123 · 23/07/2015 14:40

Fruit, that's a lovely way to look at it!

Mummyofonesofar · 23/07/2015 14:28

My test date is the day after AF is due- as technically we shouldn’t have to test until we are late. In my defence I am poas from now because I have lots of boozy plans this weekend and for the next week as I am on holiday visiting family and have lots of days, dinners and nights out planned! I wouldn’t hold out testing if you need to change the drugs if you are pregnant, I would follow the guidelines from your healthcare provider.

MorganLeFey · 23/07/2015 13:58

Mummy We have the same test date! I'm predicting AF due on Thursday from likely ovulation & normal for me 14 day LP but it was a shorter cycle than usual. Convinced I'm having implantation cramps today (!) but determined not to POAS until Monday earliest but trying to hold out till Wed.

I've had 3 consecutive miscarriages & so am on meds (metformin + prednisolone from ovulation) & technically should be testing 10 DPO to see whether to continue the steroids & add in progesterone suppositories.

I completely relate to life on hold while TTC - my current contract ends December but future plans depend on preg status!

Also trying to hold onto the idea that the mc babies weren't meant to be or something but the next one will be... But because of all the testing we know the last one was a genetically perfect little boy so that makes it feel so much harder that the problem is with me. I think if I'm not preg again by his due date in October I'll have a breakdown!

Mummyofonesofar · 23/07/2015 10:25

fruit very good holding out testing! Far more will power than me who poas at 7DPO today Blush I have a 12 day LP so my tst date is officially next Wednesday. I haven’t seen that film but it sounds lovely!

Reebok · 23/07/2015 10:17

Thank you ladies. Just being on this thread is helping. Don't really have anyone to talk to about it and just feeling so lost all the time. fruitlovingmonkey that's a nice way to look at it. I suppose it is right in a way...if I hadn't had my first miscarriage, I wouldn't have my wonderful daughter now. There's a baby waiting out there for all of us...we just have to be patient I guess and wait. (Hard though isn't it?)

fruitlovingmonkey · 23/07/2015 09:42

Did you POAS Sakura? I'm holding out until tomorrow, that will be two weeks after ov. Who is next after me? Mummy when is it your turn? I keep having vivid dreams about getting my period or having a chemical pregnancy and waking up thinking it's true, guess it's the anxiety.
Has anyone seen the film About Time? Apart from them making it look ridiculously easy to have the number of children you want when you want them it is a cute story. The protagonist can time travel but he discovers he can't go back to before his children were conceived as each of them is the result of that exact sperm meeting that egg, so if he relives it he will get a completely different child. I'm not in the "everything happens for a reason" camp Reebok but I think this is a nice way to look at things, at least the waiting part of ttc. I am waiting for the right sperm and egg that will make the person my child will be.

Mummyofonesofar · 23/07/2015 08:46

I hope the bleeding eases soon Reebok

CarottV It is lucky that your sister haven’t had to go through this painful process, but they are the lucky ones! There is nothing wrong with you – most people have mcs, they are just the exception!

Sakura good luck trying to be relaxed about ttc – I couldn’t do it!!

CarrotVan · 23/07/2015 08:35

Are you sure it was AF, sakura?

reebok so sorry for your loss, I had a mc on 28 May, my first pregnancy ever, going through a second mc must be horrific and of course you thinks it's unfair as it's so raw and something you want so badly. The beauty of this thread is that you can rant and get your frustrations out which can be hard if not impossible in RL. My manager is off on maternity leave next week and a colleague is half way through hers...
I know I have put a lot of things on hold because of ttc which now seems absolutely stupid, so I'm going to have a rethink about my approach to this ttc malarkey. I think I have had AF it only lasted a day which has never happened before and arrived 2 days earlyConfused, not quite sure what to make of it as 1st AF after mc was just normal maybe slightly heavier. I can't decide whether to get opks again for this cycle.. monkey I had a lovely time at my mum's thank you, how are you getting on?

CarrotVan · 23/07/2015 07:53

emu my colleague (this week's baby bomb) had two miscarriages before a trouble free pregnancy and is pregnant again without any issues 18 months after her first baby was born

I've got two pregnant colleagues at the moment reebok and both are having slim, glamourous pregnancies and look like they've just stepped out of a Boden catalogue. With my first I had really bad SPD, put on 3.5 stones, my arches collapsed and I got carpal tunnel in my hands...

The thing that I find difficult mummy is that none of my four sisters with kids have ever had MCs. So whilst they're sympathetic they really don't understand and immediately think there's something properly wrong with me rather than it being bad luck which makes me more worried

Reebok · 22/07/2015 22:55

Arghhhhh I'm so fed up of bleeding!!! It's just a constant reminder. And if I hear the words 'try to be strong...it happened for a reason' one more time, I'm going to punch somebody! I know I should be grateful...I have a beautiful little girl but it's not fair! I feel like I should have been given a break. Pregnancy is so hard...I either miscarry or I'm so sick (suffer from hyperemesis) which means I'm on drugs throughout and can't even keep down water. And then I have people around me like my colleagues at work who have an easy pregnancy...plain sailing...dreading going back to work and seeing them. There are two at the moment pregnant. I just don't want to be around them.

Mummyofonesofar · 22/07/2015 21:35

Emu it is also nice to know that though no one talks about them, most people with 2-3 children have experienced a mc at some point.

When I tell people I mcd it is so often that someone replies with "yes I mcd too between my kids/when o first started TV/after my last baby"

Emu123 · 22/07/2015 20:57

This thread is definitely helping me to keep things in perspective and that it's possible to mc and also have normal pregnancies. I feel a bit fed up as ttc 1 and my friends have all either had a really straightforward time ttc or a complete nightmare so was starting to convince myself we'll have a tough time too..... Need to keep positive (if I write that down surely it will sink in Hmm )

MamaLazarou · 22/07/2015 16:38

Hi Penguin. I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you are OK.

I have one wonderful DS aged 5. Straightforward pregnancy, no complications. I have had two mcs and a cp: all since September. Have got straight back on the horse (so to speak) after all of them.

Best of luck x

Mummyofonesofar · 22/07/2015 16:34

fruit when will you poas?

CarrotVan · 22/07/2015 16:29

One 'proper' MC (May) and one CP (July) penguin. I have a little boy already and had no problems at all conceiving and carrying him - conceived second cycle and plain sailing

fruitlovingmonkey · 22/07/2015 16:15

Welcome Emu, Reebok and Penguin. So sorry for your losses, I hope you get your bfps soon. I'll be impressed if you manage that laid back approach Penguin, MC has turned me into a ttc fiend.
Carrot FF seems to work out predictions based on my last cycle, while Ovia goes by the cycle length I inputted. I think FF will change as you input signs of ov though.
Sakura hope you had a good trip to visit your mum. I know spotting doesn't count as starting a new cycle so I guess your LP will continue until AF comes in full flow. Fx it doesn't happen and the spotting is a pg symptom. I am also 12 dpo, no sign of AF yet but I'm not getting my hopes up because my last cycle was 37 days and I'm only on 28 now. Really want to be pg, especially because I got the worst possible baby bomb last week but I have only had a couple of very minor imaginary symptoms.

Reebok · 22/07/2015 14:49

Thanks carrot.

sleepingpenguin I started to the mc last weekend. Am still bleeding so assuming it will be a while and epu asked me to take a pregnancy test 2 weeks from the Monday that just went.

Dh is saying the same as you....that whatever happens will happen and we are not going to 'try' try...just not prevent it either.

Mummyofonesofar · 22/07/2015 12:30

Carrot No idea - I ov'd later than usual this month (month 2 after mc) and FF thought I would too!

Sleepingpenguin · 22/07/2015 12:15

Hi everyone. I'm sorry for all your loses, and thanks for the welcome, I hope your right I just feel like people who have never experienced it just don't understand, sadly.

When are you going to start ttc reebok?

Sorry to ask carrot and im sure it may have been said but how many miscarriages have you had?

We've said we will ttc but that we don't really want o try but just to stop it happening I got so worked up ttc last time and then this happened I feel a bit deflated. that's it I feel so empty not being pregnant I just feel like I need it. I also think it will help me recover.

CarrotVan · 22/07/2015 08:50

Welcome reebok and penguin

I'd find it difficult to stop trying paws especially if you haven't been given a specific reason

FF thinks I'm going to ov on cd19 when I usually ov on cd 14/15. I'm using opks, am starting to get ewcm so can track but does it know something I don't? I assuming I'm right so am sort of thinking of SMEP for the next 10 days. Although it's not like I find it hard to get pregnant, just to stay pregnant
