Short Luteal Phase

So after 6 months of ttc I've worked out I've got a short luteal phase of 9 days, however it could be even less. I get a positive opk on day 19 and 9 days later AF appears. I'm fearing it could be less that 9 days if I ovulate 24-36 hours after a postive opk. No suprises that there hasn't been a bfp yet. I'm thinking this is my obstacle. Seems I've tried everything else. Do I go to my GP? Is there any point? On preconception vitamins with b6 in and have been in them for three months and no changes. Also AF is really painful every month, wondering if there is more to this. Any ideas? Or anyone experienced/ing similar?

Digi is in the bin! Not going to test anymore now. As long as I'm not cramping and there's no af I'm pregnant and I need to get a grip haha! Waiting on docs to ring about urine result now. They got it back really quick! GP just needs to interpret apparently.

Step away from the digi!!!!! They're notoriously wrong! The range of HCG at different DPOs is huge. I had the same issue moving from 2-3 to 3+. Please don't worry.

sunshinegirl12 · 13/08/2015 08:22

Mascara this must be so horrible for you, hopefully it'll all be ok, could you go back to the docs and get them to check ur hormone levels are increasing with a blood test? Xx

mascaraisamust · 13/08/2015 07:27

Sorry for typos, didnt read back!

Tested again, not moving off 1-2 weeks which makes me nervous Sad why did I test with CB! I know that since conception so would make me 4 weeks but I'm slightly over than I think. Would have expected 2-3... Guess I'll have to wait it out

I live quite far from my parents so I reckon next time I see them I should be nearly 12 weeks and ready to tell them. Its easy to fib over the phone haha! I'm going to lie low around here for the next 7 weeks. Away for a week next weekend and nothing on in September yet so I'll be a social bore and turn down invites blaming lack of pennies! Any excuse to drive Grin

It must be so hard not being able to tell everyone ur news, its hard enough to keep it secret that we're trying. We haven't told anyone either but if this is our lucky month would have to tell my family in the first few weeks as we're going away with them nx month and they'd know as soon as they saw me without a drink Hmm

Am currently on day 12 and in my fertile period, going to give conceive plus a try this month too. Xx

mascaraisamust · 12/08/2015 19:09

Oh no! I think it depends who you get. Let us know how it goes star!

Star1980 - I'm 35 and my GP brushed me completely off!

star1980 · 12/08/2015 16:35

Aw, thanks!

mascaraisamust · 12/08/2015 15:00

And 35 is no age! My sisters both were over 35 and have two kids a piece!

*i meant that's good about AF though Confused

OP posts:
mascaraisamust · 12/08/2015 14:54

That's about AF though. How long is your cycle now then? Do you track on an app?

star1980 · 12/08/2015 14:38

Omg, I would want to test every 5 minutes!
I'm OK, my period came 3 days late (i am never late) so it looks like I don't have a short LP after all but 12 days. A bit frustrating as I thought I'd figured out my problem and was about to stock up on all the bits you did mascara!

Currently on CD5 and am now temping (what a pain!) and will use OPKs again this cycle, see if there's a pattern. Depressingly, I turn 35 next week (the dreaded age!) but I'm hoping that means the GP will take some action (when I call up!)

Your BFP just goes to show that everyone is different. Congratulations again! x

Thanks star. Its wierd as I don't feel pregnant but then again I'm not sure how I should feel so early on. Just been to the nurse to register at the new surgery (standard procedure) and there's blood in my urine Confused so got to wait for that to come back Friday now. UTI maybe? Although I'm in no pain. I want to test again! I was gutted they didn't test for me. How you doing star?

Shary I couldn't quite admit to my best mate we were trying, I just said that I don't think it'll be long before we try. She lives quite far away.

Oh my goodness, mascara congratulations!! Haven't been on for a few days and just came to check whether you'd had your GP appointment. This lovely news has made my day!

SharyBobbins · 11/08/2015 21:19

My best friend knows. People keep asking me when I'm going to have a baby. One person is convinced I'm pregnant because I didn't drink on a night out (even though I don't drink anyway!). That was frustrating!! I wish people would asking me. No one cared about my sex life before I got married!! x

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 17:03

Yes I'll stick around, I want to see all you lovelies get you bfps too. It's been a great support on here as TTC can be a lonely journey when nobody knows! Have you guys told anyone apart from OHs? I didn't tell anyone and I won't be saying anything about the bfp either until 12 weeks fingers crossed!

OP posts:
SharyBobbins · 11/08/2015 16:51

Thanks Mascara, fingers crossed!
Are you going to stick around on this thread & let us know how you're doing? It would be lovely if you could keep us updated on your journey x

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 16:51

Flymo I still can't quite believe it. The gp told me to accept it and said 'what'll be will be' that there's no point getting anxious about 'what ifs' as it's our of my control, true. So here's the chilled out me Confused keep me updated ladies with how you are getting on!

Waheyyyyyyy mascara!!!! So many congrats!!!!

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 16:10

And shary preseed and conceive plus are similar just different brands. People swear by one or the other on the reviews. Whether it made that much difference who knows.

Thanks sunshine! Shary I'm hungry, eaten loads and my tummy has been rumbling for more. Ive felt exhausted the last two days but I've picked up on energy today. I'm mega bloated too, look way more pregnant. Spotting is very light. Apart from that everything feels the same! Wishing you all your bfps soon!
