Short Luteal Phase

mascaraisamust · 05/07/2015 22:57

So after 6 months of ttc I've worked out I've got a short luteal phase of 9 days, however it could be even less. I get a positive opk on day 19 and 9 days later AF appears. I'm fearing it could be less that 9 days if I ovulate 24-36 hours after a postive opk. No suprises that there hasn't been a bfp yet. I'm thinking this is my obstacle. Seems I've tried everything else. Do I go to my GP? Is there any point? On preconception vitamins with b6 in and have been in them for three months and no changes. Also AF is really painful every month, wondering if there is more to this. Any ideas? Or anyone experienced/ing similar?

I feel a BFP coming on for you ladies real soon! You've done everything you can. Fingers crossed for you all. Let's have some good news Smile

Sunshine15, what's happened has made me think how worried I was about doing the right thing and it made no difference to the outcome! So I'm trying to take a more relaxed approach to it all!

Enjoy your holiday sunshine and glad you're feeling better mascara you sound like a strong person!

Got my temp shift today so am now officially in the TWW. We DTD everyday eight days including this morning. According to that book I read taking charge of your fertility you should BD everyday that you have creamy/wet/egg white cervical fluid and on the morning of the temp shift so we did. FX for this month. DH didn't complain haha. Every other month we've gone for every other day.

Also ovulated 2/3 days earlier than normal which I'm wondering if it could've been the evening primrose oil tablets as this was the first month I took them.

I'm off to eat some pineapple core like a crazy lady x

Glad to hear you're feeling better Mascara.

I've been getting ready for hols today, couldn't decide if to pack the OPKs and thermometer so I've packed them just incase, I don't want to get there and regret not having them but hopefully I won't be tempted to use them either. That doesn't make much sense does it, I should really go unpack them...

I'll check in when I'm home, AF is due on the day we fly home so atleast I won't be waiting around to find out xx

mascaraisamust · 05/09/2015 16:20

Hi ladies, good to hear your thyriod is fine Mascara Smile
No results yet Confused Probably for the best though, I'm not sure receiving them on a Friday afternoon would have been a good idea especially if they're not good as there's no way I'd get a GP appointment! I'd spend all weekend fretting even more than I am already! x

sunshinegirl12 · 04/09/2015 20:18

Thats good news mascara. Hope your results were good too Shary xx

mascaraisamust · 04/09/2015 19:30

Oh sunshine, that all sounds positive, fingers crossed for you.

Hope you start to feel better soon Mascara. Flowers

I had a pre-holiday pampering appointment tonight and I think it's the first time in months that i totally switched off and got the thought of ttc completely out of my head...it felt so good!! think I'll be spending a lot more time there in the future x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 03/09/2015 20:45

Hope results are good shary

Oh mascara this cold sounds horrible.

Had my smear today. Strong line on cheapie opk today. The nurse said "your cervix is hiding" and I was like yeah I'm due to ovulate today haha. She said it looked normal though so fingers crossed although she said the NHS may refuse to analyse the sample as I've had a smear within the last three years so we'll see.

Vaginal ultrasound in two and a half weeks.

If I ovulate tomorrow it'll be 2/3 days earlier than usual which I wonder if it could be down to the evening primrose oil capsules I've been taking.

mascaraisamust · 03/09/2015 19:31

I didn't get mine either Hmm

Rang the doctors this evening and the bloody phone lines were down!!

mascaraisamust · 03/09/2015 17:03

Ah Shary that's good then. Don't stress dear, knowledge is power and all that Smile glad you had a friendly nurse!

Flymo, stranger things have happened! You're not out until AF is here.

My cold is still here with vengeance. Think im a bit run down. More chocolate and tv this evening then.

sunshinegirl12 · 03/09/2015 13:03

Glad your appointment went ok Shary, thats good that you'll get the results quickly too x

SharyBobbins · 03/09/2015 12:32

Hi ladies, thank you so much for your messages. The lady who took my bloods said she usually works at an early pregnancy unit so she understood my worries. She was lovely. She told me that my bloods could be available as quickly as this evening or tomorrow morning which surprised me. She said they usually process hormonal bloods quicker Hmm

flymo79 · 03/09/2015 08:41

everything crossed for you shary, just try to remember you'll hopefully feel better about it when it's all done and you've got some answers... I have been increasingly nervous about docs, I think it's the stress of ttc adding to an already nervous disposition.
I'll look into the cb opk tests, I'm thinking of jacking in the b vits next cycle (whenever that might be), as I'm due af today but glow app reckons I'm only 4 dpo.. think I've prob got another week until she shows up (technically 2ww!). SO tempting to poas, but I know it's basically 100% certain I'm out as we didn't dtd within a week of ov, according to temps!

sunshinegirl12 · 03/09/2015 07:28

Ah Shary, I understand how you feel, I'm terrified of anything to do with the docs, probably why I haven't built up the courage to go yet, so I think you're really brave for getting this far. Fingers crossed for you xx

SharyBobbins · 03/09/2015 07:17

Thanks ladies xxx
Feel super emotional this morning. I get anxious just walking in to a pharmacy so I'm pretty nervous about having bloods done. More than that though, my temperature has been dropping so 99% sure this cycle I'm out. Again....

mascaraisamust · 03/09/2015 06:25

Good luck Shary. Fingers crossed the results are quick. The told me a week but I called and they had them 2 days later x
