Hi newby woo that is quick! I have weeks to go yet! Am going in for a scan tomorrow so will see what they say then. Good luck for Friday! Let us know how it goes.

Newby32 · 18/08/2015 22:29

Hi elb how are u??I'm on the short protocol so I think mine is different to you. I am injecting cetroside? It's in my tummy and it does get quite itchy, I think that is a side effect. Have u googled to see if normal? Im sure it's nothing to worry about, but maybe call the clinic to be reassured? It's bound to feel funny with all the meds going in it!
I'm fine.. Have a scan in the morning and hopeful for EC on Friday , if not Monday I think. So ready for it now! Very worried about OHSS so drinking plenty of water and eating lots of protein!

Elbbob · 18/08/2015 17:56

How is everyone getting on? I am still injecting suprecur and my injection sites are now itchy red bumps. Is anyone else experiencing this? They weren't like that for the first 10 days of injecting, I am worried I am doing it wrong.

Elbbob · 13/08/2015 19:33

Great Newby but sorry to hear about the side affects. How are you finding doing the injections?
Nothing much going on with me just carrying on with the injections, I have a scan next week to plan taking the other injections and EC will be a few weeks after that.

Newby32 · 10/08/2015 11:34

Hello! So I'm finally in the same boat as you both and began injecting Friday. I'm using Menopur? Starting to feel a little bloated and uncomfortable but nothing too bad. Is there anything you are eating/drinking/doing to help at all? So how are you all getting on? What are your estimated EC dates? They must be coming up soon?

Elbbob · 05/08/2015 18:07

Oh no Iamnot that does sound painful! Your process sounds complicated too, I just do it all with one needle - I am injecting suprecur at the moment. I find I have to draw back quite a lot and then inject it back in to the bottle to get rid of the air bubbles.
Good luck Newby hope it comes soon!

iamnotaspindoctor · 05/08/2015 15:32

For my down regging there is no mixing involved. But when we add in menopur for stimms that has to be mixed. I think I'll get DH to do that bit so he feels 'involved'.

When I was waiting for AF I kept googling how to bring it on...no luck tho, nothing worked Grin . It'll be here before you know it...keep busy, the time will go faster!

OP posts:
Newby32 · 05/08/2015 11:38

Ouch!! That sounds painful! Do you have to mix the drugs up yourself or are they done for you?
How are u feeling on them?
Glad to hear your on the final stages now.. I've never wanted my AF so bad.. Due any day now and it's killing me!

iamnotaspindoctor · 05/08/2015 10:51

Hi All, I screwed up my injection and just myself this morning Sad drew the drugs into the syringe with the large needle, changed to snaller needle to inject then noticed there wasn't quite enough in there so withdrew some more using the smaller injecting needle, blunted the injecting needle in the process so then REALLY hurt myself when I injected. Woops! Lesson learned-wont do that again!

OP posts:
Elbbob · 04/08/2015 18:11

Well doneIamnot you are braver than me! But I am fine doing them after a couple of goes. No side affects yet - sore boobs but that is normal for this point in my cycle.
Time is going very slowly all of a sudden... Hope everyone else is getting on ok?

iamnotaspindoctor · 03/08/2015 13:53

Hi all, first injection this morning. Over and done with very quickly, no drama at all...I am the least squeamish person in the world though, on the other hand DH looked like this Sad Shock Sad[e the whole time Grin

How are you guys doing? Any side effects yet elbob?

Newby I haven't booked any time off as I need the distraction but I might book a few days off around transfer time. I've never heard of an assisted conception policy Iamnot what a great idea. I don't think there's one where I work but I'm going to check!
So first injection done! I did it myself although OH talked me through it. It didn't really hurt but I got a bit overwhelmed and had to lie down after! Was fine after 5min though. I might get OH to do it one day as it's good to get him involved. When is your first injection day Iamnot? Next week? It's better they are doing your injection teach closer to the time as we had forgotten every thing the nurse taught us!

iamnotaspindoctor · 31/07/2015 07:01

Good luck with your injection today elbob, let us know how you get on. Are you going to diy out get your h/p to do it? I am planning on diy as h is super squeamish! Grin Only a few more days to wait for me now...

newby my plan is to work as much as I can/feel comfortable with. My with has an assisted conception policy which allows 5 days paid leave over a period of 2 years so can use that if needed. Currently the plan is obviously to take time off fit collection and transfer, and work from home in between, but if I don't feel up to it/am to stressed, I'm going to take then time off. I've been really open with my bid and luckily he has been really understanding and supportive. The week after transfer (if all goes to plan!) I'll be on a course away from home, which is quite good tuning as I suspect it will be shorter hours and much less stress than normal, but enough to keep me busy!

I have spent way too much time on google and I feel I count every second of every day! It's so good you are both starting now.. I bet it's taking a long while to get to this stage!
I'm taking the pill and that stops Monday (I have pcos so don't have natural AF), so could anytime up to ten days later.

I'm then on short protocol- so I guess from there can
Be anything from 7-10 days..

Are you both working or taking time off? I'm torn! I don't want the stress of working and want to fit in as much acupuncture as possible, however the more time off work the more questions and the more time to think about things!

iamnotaspindoctor · 28/07/2015 20:06

Wow elbob its getting close for you now! I have an appointment on Monday- have to go collect my script, go to pharmacy to get prescription then back to fertility centre to get taught how to inject. How are you feeling? I'm a little nervous, DH is away this week til Sunday night so I have a bit too much time to think about it all- keep going to bed at 10 then googling til 2am...must.stop.

Newby, what's your plan, when are you starting?

OP posts:
Elbbob · 28/07/2015 18:45

Newby32 Yes I'm on the long protocol, there is no specific end date to this injection but have to have a scan after 3 ish weeks and then add another injection as well.

When is your AF due?

Newby32 · 28/07/2015 11:58

Eek! elbbob that must make it feel so real! How long will you be injecting for do you know? I wish you all the best throughout the journey! Are u on the long protocol?
I'm fine.. All just still a waiting game! Never have I wanted AF to hurry up so much!

Elbbob · 28/07/2015 11:15

Have just received delivery of meds to start suprecur on Friday. So much stuff! So many syringes and needles etc. And one massive box containing a tiny box of meds to refrigerate. I feel really nervous right now but also excited. How is everyone else?

Elbbob · 23/07/2015 20:03

I'll still counting down the days 'til cd21 so I can start injecting. 2 more people at work expecting babies. I'm happy for them, but it makes me so sad.

Newby32 I've told one person but can't bear the thought of telling anyone else. People just ask more questions and say stupid things - although Iamnot 'jumping too much' is a new one!
Anyway going to a BBQ this weekend so looking forward to that. Going to try and spin out one drink and hope no-one notices!

funkky · 21/07/2015 16:17

Day3 of gonal f injections. I am surprised how brave I've been about it all. But lower belly feels sore from the poking And I do feel a bit bloated, gassy and random bouts of tiredness during the day. Never mind moodiness as well. But hey ho, the journey begins

Newby32 · 21/07/2015 13:03

Hi! Time is going soooo slowly for me! And I'm not even properly started yet! Just taking the pill to bring on a bleed then the injections start...
I haven't told anyone really which is the only good thing re people asking me about it. I just don't stop talking to my DP about it!

What is it your waiting for again iamnot? Sorry to ask, feel like I've read so many forums I lose track! :)

How is everyone else doing? X

iamnotaspindoctor · 20/07/2015 21:41

How is everyone doing? Time is draaaaging at the moment, I just want to start!!! I'm trying to eat healthily and dh and I are having a last minute weekend away this weekend to spend time together before the madness begins Grin

Have had some bloody stupid advice over the past couple of days-one friend told me I must jump too much, and Mil told me I must think positive otherwise it won't work... they mean well, but the language they use is just a bit 'blamey' if you know what I mean... like they're already looking for reasons it might not work.... and really the most likely thing that will stop it working is dhs shite sperm...

iamnotaspindoctor · 17/07/2015 09:10

That's interesting bob, I'm just taking a conception supplement that contains folic acid. I am finding it all a bit confusing....there doesn't actually seem to be any hard evidence for anything Sad I also don't want to get to obsessed- i have a bit of an obsessive nature- when I do things I throw myself into them, and I've never not succeeded (sorry of that sounds arrogant) so I am really worried about doing that with ivf, and it failing, and beating myself up about it, so I am taking more of a 'what will be, will be approach'. Not sure if this is the right thing to do or not though.

Funky- how did the injection go?

OP posts:
Elbbob · 16/07/2015 22:35

Iamnot I read it in a fertility book (not sure which) and there is a lot about it online. When I mentioned supplements to my consultant she mentioned CQ10 and said I could take it if I wanted to. Not really a glowing endorsement.
It's meant to help improve egg quality although I am not sure how. There doesn't seem to be any convincing evidence for it but it is not harmful to take. I also take fish oil supplements and Pregnacare.

iamnotaspindoctor · 16/07/2015 20:23

Hi funky, welcome to the thread! You'll have to update us tomorrow re injection success!

elbob what does cq10 do? Who recommended it to you?
