Backache

I am now 5 days away from my period being due. It's my first month ttc after our tfmr in jan.

I fell fairly quickly with dd1 as wasn't really tracking or watching symptoms.

With dd2 (who ended up having T18) we weren't actively trying but had stopped preventing iyswim.

We're now ready to try again. We dtd every other day around ovulation time. Since then, around 3dpo I started getting pretty bad abdominal cramps, like prior to period. They lasted around 3 days. Since then I've had a really achy lower back that I just can't shift.

No other real symptoms other than an increased appetite but that could be down to my running. Oh and fatigue, which I really suffered with both my other pregnancies.

It is possible that the cramps 3dpo were actually ovulation pains and that the app I use calculated my fertile time wrong which would be really annoying but nothing I can do now. I'll get opk next month.

What on earth is this back ache though? It's driving me mad. I've never had to do the traditional tww thing and I've been driving myself mad with the 'am I? Aren't I?' questions.

Well going by your days and everything else you say it sounds exactly like my very early pregnancy but you may have just pulled it as Oyster says. Let us know ok?

Thanks. I think I've actually got to the point of hoping it is a sign purely because I can't do this every month if it's part of my cycle (my symptoms are totally different since loosing dd2).

I will definitely try the hot water bottle. I've been avoiding ibuprofen just in case I am pregnant.

Like you say, even sitting is uncomfortable.

Can you get a first response test? If so please let us know! Xx

Hey Kitty. Would hate to give false hope but wilth DS I had the works. Implantation cramps and bleeding and then exactly what you describe. Was awful. Had to shove my hot water bottle down my pyjama bottoms and sleep like that. Try it. It may be nothing of course but I also couldn't find anyone who'd had the same thing. Remember going out for dins to celebrate my friends bday and not being able to sit still due to the lower back pain. It was cd 29 and I'd done a first response two days before so knew I was preggers. It might not be that tho of course - every person and pregnancy is complety different but it's what I had! Best of luck. Xx

It's not a muscular ache, more the ache you get in your back when you have your period.

I've never heard of backache as being an early pregnancy symptom. Maybe you just jarred it running or pulled it somehow.

Anyone?
