Hi ladies! I am 33 and have been trying to get preggars 6months now :( feels like forever. my partner has two children from prev relationship (marriage) and his ex fell pregnant straight away apparently, my younger sister-by 6 yrs is pregnant with her 2nd which happened 2 months into her relationship ! I have been really positive this month but my period is due wed and now i have brown spotting-meaning am out again. I guess i am just on a downer now... this sucks. I have a regular 28 day cycle and ovulate day 13 (opk) and have sex at least every other day! eating more healthily and tried fertilcm to help. I have worked with children for years and so long for my own. I am addicted to these threads and love how everyone is so supportive of one another! Fairy dust to us all!x

How's everyone doing today? How are you feeling LL2015?

I think AF is definitely on the way - I've got a bit of an ache starting up, and I feel very fat and grumpy, which is usually a pretty good indicator! Still - always next month! She'll probably appear tomorrow, so I should really only test on Sunday if she doesn't. I'll probably do it tomorrow anyway though! Glutton for punishment, me.

PallasCat · 23/07/2015 19:48

Totally understandable Cinder - don't be tough on yourself about it!
LL2015 Congratulations! xx

Babycakes100 · 22/07/2015 18:27

Oh Cinder that's understandable. Of course there's still hope as it's still early! Hold out until the weekend and test again. Don't let it stress you out though in the meantime x

CinderToffee · 22/07/2015 18:15

Oh dear I couldn't help myself and I did test - BFN Blush

This is ridiculous - I am only 11 or 12 dpo, and it's the evening, so it's not conclusive. But it was a First Response. I haven't told DH as he'd be really annoyed - we specifically agreed we wouldn't do early testing because it's pointless! I will definitely leave it until the weekend now, but I think AF will come anyway.

CinderToffee · 22/07/2015 12:01

3 days until test day. I really want to test early, but I will not succumb! I've already dialled back from my original plan to wait until Monday, to Saturday.

Sizzle81 · 22/07/2015 08:07

We have discussed some names too! I did try to hide the crazy from OH but it was just too much! Lol

Mermaid36 · 22/07/2015 06:34

Babycakes We've had endless baby name discussions - almost every day!

P.S. I do have a regular day job too, but I think you've got to grab life by the balls and do what you want.....which is probably why we've not had kids until now! (at 35 and 36, despite being married for 13 years!)

Londonlady2015 · 22/07/2015 06:06

Morning everyone

Thanks for the well wishes, pleased to say I confirmed at home with a clear blue digi - those IC strips aren't half annoying!

Still won't really believe it until I sort doc appt I guess.

cinder if it's any consolation my symptoms are exactly the same as PMS which makes it rather hard to decipher!

FX for everyone x

Babycakes100 · 21/07/2015 23:11

Ooooooh tentative congratulations LL2015 - that's wonderful news. FX for you! xx

Mermaid - wow sounds like you lead an interesting life!

Along with the impatience, there's the constant awareness of every feeling you get. A sore throat, back cramps, weird contractions, spots, general aches and pains - everything seems like a symptom, a sign, something!!! Grin

Cinder - I do hope AF stays away. Stay positive until AF is due!

Not bought anything yet but I have been thinking about names a lot and worrying obsessively that SIL will pick the names I want. Can hardly dibs them when I'm not even pregnant!

Mermaid36 · 21/07/2015 20:36

Hopeful congratulations LL!

I now think about babies all the time now....I find it very frustrating, as I'm used to deciding to do something and just doing it, e.g. I'm an open water swimmer, a boxer and a vintage model. I don't like having things that I can't control!

I'm in my fertile window according to Ovia, we've DTD 2 nights in a row, hubby is away for the night tonight, so we have a night of respite before DTD tomorrow!

mrsstickll · 21/07/2015 20:31

sizzle81 I've not actually bought anything but I look at things to buy obsessively, I don't think I can buy anything just incase it never happens, plus I think my dh already suspects I'm crazy lol

bananamonkey · 21/07/2015 20:31

Thanks Cinder! That makes sense

Sizzle81 · 21/07/2015 18:41

Congrats LL2015!!

I find my mind wanders to babies all the time!!
Since we are all first timers, have any of you bought any baby items yet? Or do you think it is a jinx?

I bought my first set of children books about 13 years ago!! have been adding to the collection slowly. I loved to read as a child (still do) so wanted plenty of books. Smile

I'm waiting for AF to show (should be tomorrow) We skipped ttc in July so I just AF to come so we can start up again!!!
x

Well on tww now af due 3rd august so hoping this month will be the one. We used digital OV kit this time and it showed ovulation four days before my period tracker did...

CinderToffee · 21/07/2015 13:24

I started tracking my cycles when I came off the pill, and I counted day one of the first cycle as the day after I took my final pill, even though I didn't get a bleed (I'd been on cerazette so I didn't get breakthrough bleeds). My first period appeared on day 30, and apart from one odd month, they have been regular since.

The first day of your period is normally CD1, so I'd be inclined to count the first day of your breakthrough bleed s day 1. It seems to be pretty usual for first cycles off the pill to be very long or otherwise odd!

bananamonkey · 21/07/2015 13:15

wow loads of chat since I last posted!

I have a really stupid question - it's my first month off the pill - does your pill break bleed count as a period? e.g. do I start to count day 1 from the last day of that?

That's what I've put into my Ovia app which says I'm on D17 but no positive OPK so far (been checking for about 5 days). I have been grumpy, headachey and hungry the last couple of days which are my usual PMS symptoms.

I hate being so impatient!

CinderToffee · 21/07/2015 13:08

That's so exciting LondonLady! This is your first cycle and everything, isn't it?

It is going to be a long week. I'm determined not to test before the weekend. To be honest, I think AF will get here before I get the chance.

mrsstickll · 21/07/2015 12:35

Londonlady2015 tentative congratulations! I've seen the pic on the other thread and I can see a line!

Sorry to those with Af, I've had a mardy few days but cd7 so time to start all over again.

Londonlady2015 · 20/07/2015 21:34

babycakes my head is full of the thought of TTC all the time, I totally get where you're coming from. I think because it's largely out of our control too.
Am 10 dpo and tested this morning, posted the pic on the summer heat thread and the feedback was good. Just won't believe it til it's on a digital (AF due thurs fri this week)

Babycakes100 · 20/07/2015 19:10

Mermaid - yeah I'd go for it - don't see any reason why you couldn't ovulate before your first bleed. FX! My GP said that after coming off the pill, you can still ovulate and get symptoms of AF but no actual bleeding.

Cinder - I bet this will be a long week for you! Let's hope it's good news.

I would so love to be pregnant around Chirstmas (obv anytime soon tho!)...only 5 months to go now. I think falling pregnant now would be nice as the baby would be born in spring. This TTC has made me such an impatient person. Does anyone else think about it like all the time? Even if they try and make a conscious effort not to?

CinderToffee · 20/07/2015 16:30

Mermaid I'm pretty sure you can ovulate before you've had your first post pill period, yes. I'd go ahead if I were you!

Mermaid36 · 20/07/2015 14:32

confused

So, I came off the progesterone-only-pill 5 weeks ago. I've not yet had a period, but the other week I had all the (horrible) symptoms of AF, except the bleeding. I had mood swings, sore boobs, period pains and felt dreadful.
I've been fully waiting for AF to arrive, but nothing.

I've been tracking using the Ovia app (temping every day, plus symptoms, weight etc) and yesterday (according to the app) is apparently my fertile period (cos of temps etc)

Can this be right? Even if I haven't had a bleed, could I actually be fertile? Do I need to tell hubby to spring into action, so to speak?

PallasCat · 19/07/2015 19:03

FX for you Cinder

CinderToffee · 19/07/2015 17:25

No it didn't really. Maybe a twinge or two on Friday, but that was it. I don't know if that's hopeful or not really. I'm trying not to get too excited, but we're going to visit my parents at the end of the month and I keep daydreaming about how nice it would be to tell them I'm pregnant!

Still, AF is due next Saturday, so my plan is to test on Sunday morning if she hasn't shown up. My cycle isn't bang on 28 days, it usually varies a bit, so I figure if it's positive then hurrah, but if it's negative that should be pretty conclusive and I can give up hope for this month!

Babycakes100 · 19/07/2015 17:03

Hey ladies, sorry about your AFs. I really, really hope it happens for everyone soon.

Cinder - did your pain persist at all?

Anyone have anything to report?
