Hi ladies! I am 33 and have been trying to get preggars 6months now :( feels like forever. my partner has two children from prev relationship (marriage) and his ex fell pregnant straight away apparently, my younger sister-by 6 yrs is pregnant with her 2nd which happened 2 months into her relationship ! I have been really positive this month but my period is due wed and now i have brown spotting-meaning am out again. I guess i am just on a downer now... this sucks. I have a regular 28 day cycle and ovulate day 13 (opk) and have sex at least every other day! eating more healthily and tried fertilcm to help. I have worked with children for years and so long for my own. I am addicted to these threads and love how everyone is so supportive of one another! Fairy dust to us all!x

Hiya am also ttc #1 at 43... been married just over a year with hubby for ten but he has always held back from children. Almost split up twice (before marriage) because of it. Suddenly he was talking about it more and we started trying last month. Currently on two week wait..

CinderToffee · 03/07/2015 15:17

Thanks VioletIbiza88. I've been through the mill with it - I've had two lletz treatments, two inadequate smears, and a colposcopy in the last year. Not much cervix left now, which is rather a worry. Not that my gynaecologist seems to be that concerned.

mrsstickll · 03/07/2015 15:04

I'm cd 15, only have short cycles though 25/26 days. Not even had chance to test last few months as af has been early.

VioletIbiza88 · 03/07/2015 14:46

Hiya Mermaid

Mrsstickll nope not in 2ww yet, had a positive opk this afternoon for the second day running now. What CD are you now and when are you testing?

mrsstickll · 03/07/2015 13:59

Hi CinderToffee and Mermaid36 welcome!

violetibiza88 I only used it once when I had signs of ov as I've had cystitis, I quite liked it (the conceive plus not the cystitis), it was a bit silky lol! I had a bit of spotting last night but not sure whether its from the cystitis, guess I just have 2 weeks to wait, you in 2ww now too?

Mermaid36 · 03/07/2015 11:50

Morning all! I'm a newbie TTC #1!

I came off the pill (POP) a couple of weeks ago. Haven't had a visit from AF for over 7 years, and before that was only regulated by the other type of pill i was on...

I'm logging on Ovia and just waiting for first AF now...

VioletIbiza88 · 03/07/2015 11:41

Hiya Cinder, good luck with your first cycle of TTC. My best friend had cervical abnormalities picked up on her smear last year, she had to have letz I think its called. Anyway the thought of problems led to her and her DH having a chat and the result of that chat is now a rather gorgeous almost 3 month old baby boy. Good that your settled into a regular cycle before you start too, I wouldn't like to deal with the uncertainty of coming off the pill and starting immediately not knowing what to expect cycle wise. I stopped the pill in Jan and was settled into 28/29 day cycles by April when we started trying.

Mrsstickll I only got to use the pre-seed once this cycle as OH didn't like it and thought it felt weird!!! But have been drinking grapefruit juice which is supposed to help with CM, and I think it has definitely increased it! Sorry if TMI. How are you getting on with the conceive plus?

CinderToffee · 03/07/2015 10:22

Hello everyone!

This is my first cycle of TTC, but it's only cd6, so we've not really got going yet, as it were.

All very nerve wracking. I've had a lot of issues with cervical abnormalities over the last year, but my consultant has given me the go ahead to crack on now! I've been off the pill since October, so pretty well settled into a regular 28-30 day cycle now. Good luck everyone!

Sizzle81 · 03/07/2015 09:06

How is everyone doing ?? x

mrsstickll · 26/06/2015 21:03

violetibiza88 I think I'm 2cd behind you, I read all the good reviews and I was feeling positive then I stupidly read the bad ones silly me.

FlatWhiteToGo · 26/06/2015 20:59

Hi everyone. Just wanted to say hello and that I hope you're all ok. Sorry for the AFs x x x

VioletIbiza88 · 26/06/2015 16:58

Babycakes thats good news about no abnormalities/PCOS!

Mrsstickll I tried conceive plus last month, helped with the daily dtd but no bfp. Going to give pre-seed a go this month, heard good things about both though. Like you I'm not sure which is better eod or ed and have tried both. Think this time I will try eod until ov then a few days in a row before going back to eod just incase of a late ov. Your right it isn't easy!!!

mrsstickll · 25/06/2015 23:18

sizzle good to hear your dh is doing better.
Sorry to those where af has arrived.
babycakes we are going to try conceive plus this month, we've tried dtd eod around ov and it obviously didn't work so going back to everyday, how about everyone else? Not as easy as everyone makes out this ttc lark is it

Babycakes100 · 25/06/2015 21:09

Sorry to hear about your AFs guys. Here's to the next cycle!

My update of the day is that my blood tests have revealed no abnormalities so no PCOS or anything. My irregular cycles are therefore a mystery! Hope things settle down from now on.

Welcome mrstickll - are you tracking everything and doing anything to help things along?

TTC strategies for this month = taking seven seas trying for a baby, having sex every 2 days, start ovulation testing on Sat, try to avoid stress as much as possible.

How about everyone else?

VioletIbiza88 · 25/06/2015 19:34

Sorry to hear about the AF's PallasCat and Sizzle.

I'm on CD8 today so almost in the properly trying phase now. Does anyone have any particular trying to conceive strategies they are going to be using this month? I.e. dtd every day between certain days or every other day throughout cycle? Anyone doing sperm meets egg plan?

Sizzle81 · 25/06/2015 19:02

Hi everyone,
OH is now out of the hospital and recovering well (I had to tell him to behave while in there as he was giving me the wiggly eyebrows Blush) I'm just so happy to have him home. AF arrived today which I expected so am not that fussed, just ouchy!!!
Sorry AF has come for you PallasCat x

mrsstickll · 25/06/2015 10:01

Hi can I join, ttc#1, cycle 7 (I think),
28, my dh also has 2 children from a previous relationship she also got pregnant straight away and now she's 3 months pregnant again with the new guy she's been with for 6 months lucky fertile people lol. How's everyone else?

ccapplin1 · 25/06/2015 08:18

Hi all, can I join? Second month of TTC #1. Stopped taking the pill in April and periods were regular as clockwork. Until last month that was, when I didn't come on until I was 5 days late Hmm Started off differently too (tmi coming - more like brown water) so that was wierd. CD15 and 1dpo so here goes for the tww again!

How is everyone doing?

Babycakes100 · 24/06/2015 17:39

Hi everyone! Derby and Banana - I feel your pain with the coming off contraception troubles. Waiting for everything to settle down is the worst. Following my first AF in 7 months, I am now 7 days into my cycle. Hope it doesn't take me weeks and weeks to ovulate =/. I did have irregular periods before going on the pill but never this irregular.

Fingers crossed for us all!

PallasCat · 23/06/2015 19:54

So I'm out for this month. AF arrived early and with a vengeance this afternoon. Ouch.

Welcome Derby and Banana Smile

Derbygirl37 · 23/06/2015 10:38

Hi, can I join too? I'm TTC#1 but it's very early days yet. I had the implant taken out on the 1st June. I can't remember the last time I had a period as I didn't have them whilst on the implant and didn't have them whilst I was on the depo injection for years prior to having the implant in. Before that I was on the pill, so I suppose I haven't had a natural period since I was about 16 (now 37)!! Anyway, I haven't had any bleeding yet since the implant was removed. Just had some cramping a few days after. But I have been feeling sick a lot and actually have been sick on a couple of occasions. Wish my body would hurry up and get back to normal!!!Grin

bananamonkey · 23/06/2015 10:27

Can I join (slightly prematurely!)? I'm also 33, planning to start TTC#1.

Unfortunately I have a smear test in 2 weeks so can't stop taking the pill until after that really, I am also a control freak and not happy that now I have to wait!

I have been taking it since I was 18, I had a nice 28 day cycle in my teens but god knows what it's like now and how long it'll take to get back to normal. So I'm using the waiting time to buy some vitamins and ovulation strips and eat more healthily as my diet has been crap the last few months.

Sizzle81 · 23/06/2015 07:31

He is doing so much better, thanks. Yes, it is at the back of my mind right now but I love catching up on how everyone is!
Fx for you all x

FlatWhiteToGo · 22/06/2015 19:02

Hi Sizzle how is your OH? If he's ended up in hospital then you can definitely put TTC to the back of your mind. I really hope he's ok (and you're ok too!) x

DelphiniumStar · 22/06/2015 14:35

Hey sizzle. Hope DH is ok now?

I'm a total control freak so I'm finding this whole waiting business quite traumatic! Came off the pill in April and had 40 day cycle (enter irrational panicking) and now on cycle 2, hoping things will settle down. Good news is that the sex life is good!
