Hello Mumsnet! This is my first post. I'm 28 and new to ttc. On cycle #2 cd12. Very few of my friends have kids or are interested in having them so I'm in need of some support!

I'd love to hear from others in a similar position and find some cycle buddies!

Hi ladies,

Just back from a camping trip, CD14 so the air bed got a lot of use! Hoping for a good night's sleep tonight as we were awake til 3am thanks to a storm - not good for TTC.

I'm not sure what a moon cup is - is it something you put inside? Pillows are more comfortable than rolling onto the top of your back with your knees in your chest! Keep forgetting to put one in place tho. It is definitely recommended to stay lying down for a bit.

An0n well done for getting through your blood test! One down 2 to go...

I love hearing everyone's experiences too as we go through this together!
Xxx

Alpha100 Good to hear what you are up to - I hope this cycle is your lucky one!
Here's my update:
I'm on CD8, second cycle TTC, and for the 1st time in like ever, my cycle is not doing what it always does. I had an awful period by my standards, and spotting a couple of days after, so I'm a little worried about whats going on!

My husband dragged me to get my blood tests, during which I cried. Almost worse than the fear I felt was the embarrassment at behaving like that at my age AND while TTC. But its good that its done. Next is the smear test - I think I am more scared about that, but with the unusual amount of cramps I am getting these days I feel I need a check up.

In other news - I am considering getting a moon cup - I currently use pads only but my periods are getting heavier. Also, my husband is really keen on getting me to put pillows under my backside after sex. I don't like doing this (I don't think it'll make any difference and I feel stupid! And I like to go clean up after rather than just lie there!) so now I'm wondering if using a moon cup after sex could be an alternative. I'd love to hear others thoughts on this!

Also, I met up with my girlfriend as usual for a coffee and plate of cheese and biscuits, and I just didn't eat any bree - I don't think she noticed! Her and her partner ate all of it themselves! I think I will say I'm on a diet if she notices.

Sorry for so much detail! I love reading about everyone elses experiences too :)

Dstar-that must be really frustratingFlowers

AF is due in a day or two and I have all of my usual symptoms. Feeling quite disappointed but I guess it will do no good to wallow. Because we took a gap where we stopped ttc for a while this is my 4th unsuccessful cycle. Fingers crossed for lucky cycle 5.

Where is everyone else up to? X

DelphiniumStar · 11/07/2015 20:44

Still nothing... Cd44. Went for a bike ride this afternoon and trying not to stress. I think the pill has fucked my cycle up royally...

Hi,

Cat we must have posted at the same time, I'm very pleased to hear you're in the all clear and back on the TTC bus!

Daisy sorry to hear your news. I rent out my old house too.

I think I'm in the middle of my cycle - That's assuming it sticks at 28d - only had one post-pill AF so far and not bothering with opk - so going for every other day at the mo. The first month it was really exciting and was symptom spotting everywhere, this time just getting on with it and not noticing any symptoms. I kind of got it into my head that it'd either be during the 'fertility spike' at 1 month, or it'll take 6 months at my age.

Never knew it would be so complicated or that the pill would mess with your body so much. I'm amazed anyone manages to get pg these days!

Star any news??

daisylassy · 08/07/2015 21:17

Ur welcome Cat.. Well been very busy at work summer hols in two weeks so it's a race to the finish. Had some bad news about where we live (currently mortgage but rent it out then we rent ourselves) might be losing house if we can't get it together to buy it , just an added but if stress I don't really need. Trying to stay stress free ... Been trying to DTD every other day ... What about everyone else?? Is any one near to testing or like me about to begin the 2ww!!
Who knew that trying to get preggers was so hard ... It's they make it sound so simple at school and on television... X

PallasCat · 08/07/2015 17:25

Smile Thank you everyone! Smile

How are you all doing today? x

DelphiniumStar · 07/07/2015 22:49

an0nan0nan0n · 07/07/2015 12:27

Great news PallasCat :) :) :)

daisylassy · 06/07/2015 19:16

???? Pallascat I'm so pleased for you both!! X

IrisPurple · 06/07/2015 18:39

Thank you for the welcomes!

I agree, it is almost as private as your age / weight etc, but I've told most of my friends, it's good to share experiences with people who have gone before, and it's a part of my life. I didn't want to be discussing it with family other than my parents though, as I don't want to feel under pressure, or worry about letting people down, particularly my husband's side.

I've told my boss, as we have a good relationship. It was a good job, as I had to go home from work when I was ill with first AF. Lots of colleagues have been making suggestive comments about trying for a baby since I returned from honeymoon last week.

I find the phrase "we're just seeing what happens" covers it all Smile

Not bothering with opk or charting.

Enjoy your ciders in the sunshine! I'm back on the waggon again for 3 weeks.

An0n good luck with the smear. Smile

PallasCat · 06/07/2015 18:22

Ooh sorry, also welcome, Iris and Alpha. Lovely to have you both on board! Smile

PallasCat · 06/07/2015 18:21

Unexpectedly heard today (early!) that Mr Cat is all okay! False alarm, and no need for followup appointment. I'm sooooo happy! Grin
Annoyingly he's away for work and not around to celebrate tonight. But never mind, couldn't be better news, and a week before we thought we'd get it. Yay!

an0nan0nan0n · 06/07/2015 05:26

Thanks daisylassy and Sizzle81
Yes I think I will have to 'just do it'! Why can't I be scared of spiders instead? My lady GP was just lovely but I just get so scared! The blood tests are to check my general health is in order, I think they are often done after people find out that they are pg, but that is because people often don't see a GP before they get pg?
In other news, I got my period yesterday, so no magical 1st attempt luck for us! I know that the general advice is try for 6 months (at our age) before getting fertility checked, but I don't know why? We are already doubting our fertility (and wondering what we did wrong, how can we do better, etc!).

Alpha100 · 05/07/2015 22:05

We are lucky...no more weddings until October Wine

daisylassy · 05/07/2015 16:26

Hi alpha and iris,
How frustrating dstar! Are u testing bfn? ...
I'm still on track for chilling out about it all ... Held of using the opk's... Even though they were staring at me from the bathroom cabinet. Instead I've kept myself busy had a weekend at home doing some pottery and today shifting sandstone... How about everyone else??
Weddings are the worst for the questions about family. It's such a private thing yet folks seem to think it's socially appropriate to ask! Drives me nuts Confused

Alpha100 · 05/07/2015 08:20

Hi,

I'm 31 and ttc #1. We tried briefly earlier in the year but had to put things on hold as my as we didn't know what the future held in terms of employment/relocation. It was the right decision and we are now ready to roll!

In response to general discussions on here; we haven't told anyone we are trying although I think both sets of parents probably have a good idea, I have stayed away from alcohol other than when AF arrives and I haven't used ovulation stick things yet but I do have them ready for next month (fingers crossed I won't need them).

I'm off to do the manchester color run today. Hope you ladies have a lovely Sunday.

Xxx

DelphiniumStar · 05/07/2015 00:08

Was at another wedding tonight. Lots of people asking me if we are going to have kids. Just said 'it's in the plan'...

Oops! Button pressed before I had finished. My Dr is aware I'm ttc but didn't suggest having blood tests!! ? Confused
Welcome IrisPurple.
I'm quite lucky - I rarely drink so it's never been an issue at parties etc. Although I did buy some fruity ciders for tonight (was hoping for a little tipsy sexy time) to take the pressure off a bit! xx

Sizzle81 · 04/07/2015 16:12

Bless your heart anon!! I also had one just before ttc.

daisylassy · 04/07/2015 10:28

IrisPurple · 04/07/2015 09:12

Hi ladies!

I'm 34, TTC month 2, cd6.

How on earth do you guys manage to keep it a secret? We've just got married so numerous friends and colleagues have been asking if we're trying for a baby. I can't really lie although I don't want to tell people in case nothing happens.

Daisylassy I feel your pain! I've stopped drinking 'just in case' so it's even harder to hide. At a family party in my husband's side I had his uncle ask outright if I was pregnant when I got the Schloer out!

Has anyone else stopped drinking whilst TTC?

It's great to have the support of my mum and best friend who's already had a child whilst I go through TTC.

I won't tell anyone (except my husband and mum) if and when I get BFP. I have already told people that I will not be telling!

One of my friends was a dental nurse and had to tell her team as other colleagues had to pick up some of her jobs.
