"Casually" TTC

TTC number 2, we've agreed to go ahead in a "let's just see whAt happens, no pressure" kind of way. so I'm casually charting my cycles with a fertility app, breezily checking my cervical mucous, nonchalantly scouring the conception board and definitely not compiling a list of names for dc2 Blush.
What is so frustrating is that because I'm "casually" charting all of this I know exactly when my fertile window is and keep bloody missing it because I don't want to give the game away and look like baby crazed monster! Last month my carefully timed advances were thwarted by a five-aside groin strain. I think today was the day and was planning a seduction after dd's bedtime but he announced he was off to his brothers for a bank holiday drink.
This is lighthearted and is not a problem with communication in my marriage. I think he felt the pressure last time and I'm really trying to keep this as relaxed as possible (for him) but that's just not my style.

sorry kitkat Sad it can't be that bad, why would we go through it more than once if it wasn't totally worth it! Wink

kitkat1989 · 24/06/2015 21:09

ladies youre scaring the shit out of me here!! although from the sounds of it that may be a good thing!!

labour is the one bit im terrified about!!

IrritatedPartyOf1 · 24/06/2015 20:55

I had a difficult delivery with ds1, he was 9lbs 12ozs. Ds2 on the other hand was a really positive experience, he was born with 2 pushes and was 10 lbs 4ozs. A totally different experience from first time around.

spottedquoll · 24/06/2015 20:40

Lordy ladies, I think you're amazing to be contemplating that again! For me, pregnancy and birth were fairly easy (apart from six weeks of vom) but it's the first three six fifteen thirty months of no sleep that scares me...

Definitelysometime · 24/06/2015 20:18

I certainly do. Mind you, my mum and grandmother both had big babies, but they got smaller each time, thank gawd. I was 9lb 10 myself so should have seen this coming...

Curly86 · 24/06/2015 20:02

Well that shocked face didn't work! I'll try that again Shock

Curly86 · 24/06/2015 20:01

OUCH!!!! ???? so do you like me worry the next ones going to be bigger???

Definitelysometime · 24/06/2015 19:31

9lb 14 here Shock

Curly86 · 24/06/2015 19:24

Yup 9lb 4oz was ripped out of my ass!!! Don't think DS got the memo about the hypnobirth id planned!!! I'm terrified and I'm not pregnant yet!!!

Definitelysometime · 24/06/2015 19:07

Yup, my bum was also far more damaged than my fanny. Weird, isn't it. Honestly, the thought of incontinence is so impossible to bear I could sign on the dotted line of a c section agreement right here and now! What to do, what to do? Either way, I'm sure I'll spend half of my next pregnancy blooming terrified

Curly86 · 24/06/2015 18:25

OMG definitely I so understand that!!! My head tells me I have to have an should have a planned c-section as if I had a 3rd or 4th degree tear again the chance of poop incontinence is about 70% and I don't want to be the mum that smells of poop! But my heart says babies come out of the VJayJay and maybe next time if I tried a little harder i would do better; I feel almost like saying oh well I'll just have a c-section is like doing all the hard work and cheating at the very end; I really didn't get the birth I wanted so not sure if I feel like I'm cheating myself or the baby?! Even though c-section isn't cheating and I'm totally not saying it is! I just want someone to make the decision for me! And to be honest the shall I shan't I has been why I've taken 3 months to convince to have another baby when OH is well up for it, but then it's not his bum that's at risk here!!!

Definitelysometime · 24/06/2015 18:16

Hi Curly. I'm in a similar position to you. DD is 14 months but it was a traumatic birth - 60 hr labour with forceps, episiotomy and 3rd degree tear. Not sure how I'm even contemplating another one tbh but hormones are a strange thing! Have you thought what you'll do this time? Id like to talk to an obstetrician to discuss my options. Might try and insist on a planned c section but the crazy part of me wants to 'do better' next time. Ridiculous I know...

kitkat1989 · 24/06/2015 16:58

still no period but another bfn this morning... i wanna know what my body is playing at! if iv not fallen pregnant this month just give me my period so i can get it over with and make a start on next month!

Chattymummyhere · 24/06/2015 16:28

Well my period finished complete yesterday afternoon.. That must be the shortest ever Sunday morning - Tuesday afternoon very light. So I still don't think my body is over the pill yet however I've got ovulation tests and ovia seems to think I should be fertile from next Friday so we shall see what happens.

Welcome curly, my youngest is 4 this year it flys by

Curly86 · 24/06/2015 16:04

Hi ladies can I join??

I have a DS who turns 1 next week, where did that time go?? Husband has been pestering for another baby for last 3 months and I've given in, now or never!! Had a horrible pregnancy last time and a horrific birth 4th degree tear; I've been crap at taking the pill for the last few months in the hope we would just have a "whoops" but now i completely stopped taking it a couple of weeks ago; should get my period this weekend but who knows last time I came off the pill it was all over the place and I took agnus cactus to help!! And I used ovulation sticks and temperature charting; ended up falling pregnant after getting blind drunk and not remembering we had Done it! How romantic- this time I'm going with the flow (however I know I will be a sex crazed ovulation symptom spotter maniac by the end of the month) x

SoozeyHoozey · 24/06/2015 08:07

Sorry to hear that pallas.

Welcome to all the newbies X

IrritatedPartyOf1 · 23/06/2015 21:01

lexb14 you need to have a frank discussion with your dh, lay your cards on the table. You could tell him that you really want another baby and want to make an appointment to have your coil removed. I sure his older step son will be delighted with a new sibling.
You could also try telling him contraception will be his responsibility after you get the coil out if he really wants to prevent it he will use a condom, if not then see what happens.

IrritatedPartyOf1 · 23/06/2015 20:56

Sorry to hear AF arrived pallas. I'm also in cd25 and the symptom spotting is going a little mental at the minute.
I have heartburn but that could be the chilli I had for dinner
nausea, cramping in my lower abdomen, lower back pain and I was really dizzy this morning. No tests in the house and I'm trying to avoid buying one for another few days!
Hi to all the newbies, I'm only a newbie myself Wink

best of luck to anyone testing in the next few days

lexb14 · 23/06/2015 19:55

Hope your DD gets better soon x

lexb14 · 23/06/2015 19:54

Thanks Pallas and spotted

spottedquoll · 23/06/2015 19:45

Welcome new people!

Casually not trying this month here, because DD has been ill and I'm just too tired to contemplate being even more tired in the next couple of weeks despite the chances of it actually happening being low! Hopefully be back to it soon, but I'll keep lurking to see how you're all doing... I can totally sympathise with wishing it would just happen by accident, wouldn't it make all those decisions and waiting and hoping easier?! Wink

Sparksflyx · 23/06/2015 19:31

I'm totally new to this TTC business, TTC my first and me and my oh are just trying to do the whole track your periods but let's just not stress... I'm finding it really hard not to think about it, And over track things, whilst not trying to read up on everything! ????

Waiting patiently for a few weeks to do another test! ????

PallasCat · 23/06/2015 19:15

I'm out for this month. Slightly blindsided by an early AF on cd 25. I never come on early. But so be it. Hot water bottle and blankets for me!

Anyone else testing?

Welcome Lex!

lexb14 · 23/06/2015 12:49

HI
I'm new here, and feel a bit like I shouldn't really be here BUT we are just about to hopefully start ttc - still trying to persuade my oh that we should just get on with stopping trying not to and see what happens - ie get my copper coil removed but he is getting a bit freaked out by the idea of planning it!
This all started with a pg scare last month and then when I wasn't it turned out that we were both really quite gutted.... He says he wishes it had just happened by accident.
I have a little girl who is 6 by my ex husband, have been with my oh for 4 yrs, he has a sort of step son of 15 (he was with the mum for 14 of those 15 yrs and his dad wasn't about) and he is worried how the step son is going to take it....any advise to gently encourage a decision from him?
