"Casually" TTC

TTC number 2, we've agreed to go ahead in a "let's just see whAt happens, no pressure" kind of way. so I'm casually charting my cycles with a fertility app, breezily checking my cervical mucous, nonchalantly scouring the conception board and definitely not compiling a list of names for dc2 Blush.
What is so frustrating is that because I'm "casually" charting all of this I know exactly when my fertile window is and keep bloody missing it because I don't want to give the game away and look like baby crazed monster! Last month my carefully timed advances were thwarted by a five-aside groin strain. I think today was the day and was planning a seduction after dd's bedtime but he announced he was off to his brothers for a bank holiday drink.
This is lighthearted and is not a problem with communication in my marriage. I think he felt the pressure last time and I'm really trying to keep this as relaxed as possible (for him) but that's just not my style.

Well poas earlier as feeling crap and convinced myself my signs are pg related as my tummy is ballooning by the day even though im losing weight thru noteating as much but nope zilch. Im a serious grumpy arse today

ktkaye · 28/05/2015 14:49

Will attempt both loo seat and lying down rummaging later. Tomorrow I am going to flippantly POAS ahead of a boozy weekend. Just in case you understand.
In other news... I don't seem to be producing v much CM in comparison to last week. What does that mean?! (If anything).

Alice1983 · 28/05/2015 14:45

LOL! I was casually laying down as I had too much Wine This wait is driving me loopy Angry

BigChiefThunderThighs · 28/05/2015 13:00

I tend to check it while sitting on the loo with pelvis tilted up, sometimes I can barely reach and it seems kind of off to one side but that might just be the angle I'm at!

Mmm love avocado Grin maybe will causally make guacamole this eve.

Couldn't find cervix... Nearly fell over in shower. Is this a lying down activity???!

Alice1983 · 28/05/2015 10:32

BigChief - I tried to locate this so called cervix last night! I could only feel something really goey...(tmi! sorry!) and no hole? But nothing harder, it was quite high up. I am now wondering if I have missed my window of last night as a had a bit too much Wine and just fell asleep once I was happy something had been located Grin

KtKaye - ..try Avocado if you like it, I swear by the stuff. Google Avocado, Bacon and Eggs. I love it for Breakfast and its Baked so healthier too. x

Struggling with my casual attitude this morning. I thought AF was finally back last night but nothing happening now. Not even a twinge. Sad

Alice1983 · 27/05/2015 21:54

Ok, I might give that a go BigChief, I'll be casual and report back on that in due course Smile

Alice1983 · 27/05/2015 21:52

On that MensHealth Mag they probably have a Forum where Men 'casually' get together in the evenings and talk about their TTC experiences and journeys Grin
I want to know more about that as well Kitkat!

BigChiefThunderThighs · 27/05/2015 21:51

Kitkat - basically sticking your fingers in until you find your cervix which should feel like a doughnut with a little hole in the middle. If you check it every day u should be able to feel changes in the texture, position and openness. So at non-fertile times it should be low down, hard and closed. At fertile times it should be higher, squishier and the hole slightly open. Bit gross and I was sceptical but I could def feel the difference. Very casual you know, daily rummaging up your nethers Grin

Wats th cervix checking thing??!

ktkaye · 27/05/2015 21:20

Alice I LOVE idea of a
Boys TTC forum, wonder if there is one? It must be hard for them (the boys, well, men), the only thing they can do is look at us sideways watching for eating/crying/puking symptoms until we announce we want to test. xx

ktkaye · 27/05/2015 21:12

Update!!! Slight cramping. That is all. Adding to my casual symptom spotting. Attempted cervix rummaging but oh knocked on bathroom door so desisted. Latest POAS date Friday. Not holding my breath... (Holds breath)

BigChiefThunderThighs · 27/05/2015 20:31

Hmmm my belly's a bit fat anyway so I doubt I'd notice! I also didn't get darker nipples til much later on last time! I can't remember having any symptoms prior to my bfp so I'm not too obsessive about pregnancy symptoms just ovulation symptoms at the minute! Although every pregnancy is different so that might give me something else to casually look out for

that's exactly what I thought last month kitkat, I must have got PG literally one day before AF, and still had AF, but was def PG as well. OH making funny remarks now. Just had some toast and he said -> are you still hungry then? Is he trying to sus me out? Hmm He is probably wondering as well...ahhhh. He is probably on a similar forum like Men Casually TTC Grin

kitkat1989 · 27/05/2015 19:43

God yes even thoigh af has just left i have still managed to convince myself that the bloating, nausea, huge boobs, tiredness and loss of appetite and not wanting chocolate must mean im pg!! Even though its almost certainly not true unlèss i got caught th furst time we had sex and still had a period after!

ktkaye · 27/05/2015 19:18

Alice Flowers
Also... I also have a 'friend' who is obsessed with her nipples and whether they are in fact changing/darker. This friend is also fighting the urge not to test EVERY DAY despite having no other pg symptoms.

Alice1983 · 27/05/2015 18:39

Thank you for all your messages re MC. I kind of had my head around it from the start to be honest as I went for an Early Scan privately. The Private Clinic really helped to be honest, and I would go there again as they were so helpful and so straight with me from Day 1. They didn't paint anything Pink with Flowers so to speak, they were very blunt, and prescribed me Progesterone immediately, so I kind of knew. x

Alice1983 · 27/05/2015 18:31

that awkward moment when you start 'casually' assesing your belly and you are left wondering whether you are just eating too much, you are bloated, OV or whether you are in fact PG (and its obviously because you are PG until AF tells you otherwiseAngry) ->>>clearly this doesn't happen to me.., no, not me at all..Wink but a 'friend' told me BlushBlush please tell me some of you have 'heard' about this situ? Grin

BigChiefThunderThighs · 27/05/2015 16:08

Yes definitely felt more in the mood since coming off the pill! Haha let me know if you manage to pull that position off casually!

Sorry to hear about your mc :'(

Me and oh have dtd 2 nights in a row now! according to my app i should have been ovulating yesterday but opk test was still negative and no symptoms at all. Temp is slightly higher today. Can guarantee that if we werent trying and didnt use anything id get caught straightaway!

ktkaye · 27/05/2015 15:55

Midday quickie eh? Lucky you!!! Fx. I was reading on one of the threads that lying on your front with a pillow under your hips can help keep things 'in' ... Is this something you could do in a relaxed this-is-how-I-am-comfy mAnner? I am planning on accosting my lovely husband as soon as he gets home. Did anyone else find that coming off contraception made you extra 'in the mood?'. Although not having a cycle as such means that any rumpy is swiftly followed by a shall I shan't I two week wait. I have been for a very long walk and for lunch with a friend today to try and stop symptom spotting.

BigChiefThunderThighs · 27/05/2015 14:09

Fascinating kt isn't it?! I've never even felt my cervix before this week! I haven't had a rummage today but last night it very much felt more soft and open than the previous few days (tmi sorry) so that's a good sign that my midday quickie might have been worth it!Grin

Alice I'm so sorry to hear about your mc. That must've been really tough when you'd both just got your head round the idea Flowers
Isn't it funny that you only realise how bloody hard it is to get pregnant when you're actually trying! Not good if you have a impatient streak!

Sorry to hear about your mc Alice. I can't imagine how hard that must have been. Fingers crossed for ... What is it MNers say - a sticky bean!
