Plus start taking prenatal vitamins or folic acid now if you aren't already

CarrotVan · 03/06/2015 19:53

Elephant - you normally see a midwife for the first time between 8-10 weeks (booking in) and then again when you have your first scan (11-13 weeks). Work out how pregnant you are (how long since the start of your last period) and then see if you have time to wait for your husband to get back before getting in the system. It can take a couple of weeks to get that initial midwife appointment but depending on the policy in your area you might be able to self refer rather than go through the GP (who won't be that bothered unless you have complicating medical factors) which saves a bit of time. You can find out by calling the community midwifery team at your local hospital

And congratulations!!!

keys27 · 03/06/2015 19:48

elephant Congratulations. Hehe book in with doctor soon so you can get folic acid and they can book your scans and midwife. You wont get any appointments for a few weeks yet but at least your in the system. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy hopefully if no af for a while little one will be here before you say I do.

He he just read back on all the posts you've made me giggle.

No idea if ovulated this month or not have no idea how them things work just let nature take its cause for now I think.

elephantfeet · 03/06/2015 19:13

Hi...I have just found this thread so I hope it is ok to post here, I just did a test as I realised this morning there has been no sign on AF for a while, got a bfp...am completely in shock and DP is working abroad for the next two weeks so I have nobody to tell!! So here I am. What happens now...do I need to go to the doctor ASAP or can I wait til DP is home to tell him first?! Sorry for the questions, this is totally out of the blue and unexpected and completely awful timing as it's almost exactly 9 months til our wedding...ah well!!

Vap0 · 03/06/2015 19:06

Hahaha why south itsme chill you all made me laugh a lot!

Itsme247 · 03/06/2015 19:00

Haha good luck Southy! You'll have to report back with any cringe comments!

Itsme247 · 03/06/2015 18:57

I don't even respond anymore to those kind of comments or I really will start losing friends...

I mean... 'it'll happen when it happens' .... What kind of bullshit is that!

Southy84 · 03/06/2015 18:53

Haha merry that made me smile Smile yep I feel like I need a rant with those sort of comments! Totally agree itsme One of my friends (who doesn't know we're trying) classic line is "it only takes once you know"..... Oh that reminds me, I'm seeing them tonight- better go get ready! Wish me luck I'm bound to get some more comments tonight, coz you know I'm married now so should have been up the duff as soon as the ink was dry!

Thanks for all the reassurance ladies! reaches for wine glass

Not only do some people say you are 'trying too hard' but also 'just relax and it will happen' as if it all hinges on the woman being completely chilled out... No pressure then! And nothing to do with biology, just a woman's mind...???!?

The odds seem to look good for this thread!! I'm so relieved to have somewhere to talk about this without sounding obsessed!!

CarrotVan · 03/06/2015 17:29

Will do vap and of course you should hang out here. We are the cool kids

Vap0 · 03/06/2015 17:15

Started spotting today, expecting AF to arrive properly later today/tomorrow/Friday. However as its so early in the month hopefully I can hang about the June bus as I will be testing again on 30th June as next AF is due 1st July.
carrot thank you for the wonderful job of keeping the stats! Please can you update me cycle 21

DizzyMerry · 03/06/2015 17:00

Itsme I get the rage at the "trying too hard" comments. Boils my piss! I'm off to find the sweary thread as o clearly need to get this rant out of my system!!!

DizzyMerry · 03/06/2015 16:40

Sorry I haven't been able to keep up on here. I'm just sulking because I don't think I ovulated this cycle even though FF thinks I have. I'm just fed up now. Will read back properly tonight.

Itsme247 · 03/06/2015 14:12

Hopefully this will be our month for BFP's!! This is my 10th month of TTC for baby #1 - desperately trying to stay positive! This is also my first month on a forum, don't know who to talk to anymore as I'm starting to get the 'maybe you are trying too hard' comments...

wishiwaspregnant · 03/06/2015 14:07

Oh good luck to you weechops I am taking a ttc break after this month as doing a big sport event which I need to start training for. It's in august so I'd just take July off. Prob a good idea to take a break now and then if long term ttc!
white66 I feel your frustration with opk! I've tried it for 1st time this cycle. Previously just temping. I've found I get lots of faint lines (which would be like a flashing smiley) I had one with a much darker line which followed with my temp dip next day and rise today. But I wouldn't say any of my tests were particularly dark enough to regard as a positive?! Confused!
I guess if temping is showing OV it might just be a case of POAS at wrong time?! Missing my LH surge?!

weechops · 03/06/2015 11:32

Cd13 here and the cheapy opk's are getting a bit darker yay!

We go on holiday on the 13th so I'm packing tampax and pregnancy tests in the one bag! So hoping this is my lucky month as I won't get another shot until end of September since dh is working on another continent

white66 · 03/06/2015 08:30

Hi all can I join in? TTC #2 on 2nd month of trying. I've been using clearblue opks this month due to my cycles lasting anything from 27-38 days. On my 6th day of a flashing smiley face now???? Anyone else had that? Looking forward to joining in a bit more

Carltonlives · 03/06/2015 08:07

vap! Yay! Try and hold out til then

Carltonlives · 03/06/2015 08:06

Yay thunder and mynameis!! Hope we all get great answers!!

chill I'm not giving up booze until my bfp (I have cut down now because I'm so close to test tho) you will have long enough without drinking while pregnant and breastfeeding!

CarrotVan · 03/06/2015 07:50

carlton there's a whole cluster of people testing from Friday to Monday according to the stats. You should have lots of company

Vap0 · 03/06/2015 07:48

Hi all new people Grin
carlton I'll be testing with you on Friday too if af doesn't arrive before then. Just did another test (the app on my phone told me to) I'm a poas addict bfn. Af due any time now...

keys27 · 03/06/2015 07:27

Good luck everyone testing :)

MyNameIsSuz · 03/06/2015 07:25

Me too Carlton - af due on Sunday, could test Thursday but will try to hold out another day. Also my cheap tests haven't arrived yet! I'm not feeling very positive any more, feel decidedly... periody.

thundernlightning · 03/06/2015 02:21

Oh! And welcome to the new folks just joining the bus. Here's hoping for an unusually high number of BFPs on this bus!
