During my extensive googling last month around could I actually be pregnant when I tested negative at 17dpo I found loads of websites that stated that the range of hcg levels could be as low as 5 at 5 weeks pregnant. So don't give up just yet loopy

And beedles, yes, I felt he was a twat yesterday and was v annoyed not to meet the man who is meant to be my actual consultant, who is regarded as being forward thinking, very experienced (due to retire in the next year or so I think) and is well regarded enough that he does private work on the side, supportive of the research at coventry, hence my mammoth email. Secretary said if I have any questions left after having a PCOS related scan she will arrange for me to see him.

Bloods came back and hcg way too low so they have said its definitely game over, said they expect I should bleed within the next week or so based on hcg being so low. I sent a mammoth email to my consultants secretary. Consultant has said he wants to arrange a scan to see if the bloke yesterday is right re PCOS. I have high bmi and have always put on weight easily and have only ever lost weigh if I cut calories to circa 700 per day which is no fun and not really healthy when ttc/pregnant/breastfeeding so have been big since 2010 when conceived ds1.

My biggest concern is he kept focusing yesterday on the fact I tested positive for lupus anti coagulant, and the fact that it's a treatable condition/cause of miscarriages. But I get no comfort from this as it only becomes relevant if I can actually get pregnant and stay pregnant long enough to start the medications, and with each loss the gestation I have reached has shortened and shortened, which this one being the absolute shortest as it's just a chemical one. Unless it's just bad luck/ bad eggs.

Imps I thought I was bad ordering 10 twin packs! Have never seen them on offer, and at £2.50 a pee it's not quite so bad on the bank account.

loopy let me get this straight, you were supposed to be seeing a consultant about repeated miscarriage and saw his assistant who suggested not testing until you're a week or two late? well that will reduce their workload won't it, if all your mc happen before 6 weeks. It sounds so condescending, if you don't test until you're a few weeks late then you won't know you've had a mc and won't be upset about it. What an idiot.

I'd go and get teh 2nd hcg test done tomorrow (assuming yesterdays was positive, and I can't imagine it wouldn't be). I can't understand why they would say that they will start with the drugs from your next bfp and then not do that when you said you had got one. Hopefully you get someone with a couple of brain cells to rub together when they let you know your results from yesterday's blood test.

Hello everyone, I'm just checking in to say that I'm signing off from this thread for the time being.

I've known for a while that I have quite severe PMS symptoms. I had a bad week with it last week, which was tje final straw for me. I went to see my GP yesterday who agrees and so I've started to take citalopram to level out my moods (and hopefully my anxieties, too). It's extremely early days, but my want is to have a clear and level head again where I can make decisions - the decision about another child being one of them.

I also need to be the best mother I can be to my two wonderful daughters who are already here. I can be a short-tempered, shouty witch in the 2 weeks leading up to my period and this must stop.

I wanted to thank you all for being so welcoming and understanding and didn't just want to stop posting. Maybe I'll be back in the future And I wish you all the very best and every happiness.

Other than long cycles do you have other PCOS symptoms? I'm not sure there is much they can do in terms of treatment though except encourage ovulation, but I wonder if they will say you're already ovulating so the drugs would have little effect. It must be so frustrating and heart breaking

So I went to the consultant appointment today, but they were running so late that I never saw him, they had someone else from his team see me. Went through the operation, sounds like was quite a bit of scarring, predominantly in uterus by the entrance to the right tube, but the tube was fine and scarring wasn't in the tube, just near it. From next BFP being confirmed they would put me straight onto clexane and progesterone and then arrange a 6-7 week scan. He suggested PCOS could be a cause for longer cycles and that its believed a strong link between early miscarriages and PCOS. He didn't say if they would do anything re seeing if I have PCOS or not and was rushed appointment so going to email my usual consultant. I then told him I think I'm approx 12 dpo and that had v faint result on Sat and today, and concerned that it's not a full on pink line and no chance between the 2 days, the test is clearly detecting hcg and that I'm worried it's over before it really got started. He thinks I'm bonkers and that you shouldn't test early or too often. He arranged for my hcg level to be checked today and gave me a form so I can get the test repeated either at my GP or back at the hospital, he suggested that if I haven't had a period in the next week to 2 weeks to get the second bloods done. I don't think he is on this planet. If by some miracle this bean is ok, and just a bit slow in making hcg, then I need to know this info pronto as need to start the clexane and up the progesterone dose, not dawdle for 2 weeks and then get the ball rolling. Will be getting the results from today's blood test tomorrow, then will have a better idea as to where to go from there.

beedle hooray, make sure you are taking it easy and well done on the progesterone, I do think its critical to calming the uterus.
loopy, a cautious congratulations. I totally freaked myself out with FRER and was convinced I was having a chemical as I did not get a darkening until at least 14dpo. With dd the sticks were much darker sooner. Can you go and have some beta HCG draws done?

For those who were asking, yes we found out the sex through harmony testing. They test for all the main abnormalities and the scan we had at the foetal medicine centre was just amazing and so detailed, more like a 20 week scan. It was well worth the money as I was so nervous about my dodgy eggs!
