Luteal phase disorder, maybe?

loopylou1984 · 18/05/2015 21:25

I'm guessing but is LPD - luteal phase defect? Xx

DizzyMerry · 18/05/2015 21:23

Southy it is the same thing. The sonographer said 'retroverted' so that's what's stuck in my mind. I will definitely be lying on my stomach after dtd.

Carlton I think maybe the endo I had was partly to blame for the pain so I think I might give it another go and see what happens.

Thanks for your input night.

Wish what is LPD?

Southy84 · 18/05/2015 20:58

Ps not sure if tilted cervix is the same?

Southy84 · 18/05/2015 20:57

dizzy I was told at my smear test last month that I have a tilted cervix, I mentioned to the nurse that we were ttc and she said definitely lay on your stomach after, I'm so glad I told her we were ttc as I never knew I had this! And yes apparently sex from err herm ...behind is good, Weve been trying on our side though and then I turn onto my stomach. It's all got a bit technical!

Carltonlives · 18/05/2015 20:56

dizzy I'm sorry I'm not sure what a retroverted uterus is! Although if you think doggy style would be best but it hurts, can you do most of it another way and then just finish off doggy style? Might work. I might on the other hand be talking crap haha

mamma thanks for explaining about the cervix, I don't believe I can feel mine though? Maybe I just can recognise it, is it quite obvious where it is? I have tried a few times in the past and have never been able to find it at all. When I had a sweep last time I was pg I he to put my fists underneath my bum to lift my hips so they could find it - but that may be irrelevant cos I guess it moves in pregnancy anyway

wish I'm sorry I don't know what LPD is either [useless]

birchygoo · 18/05/2015 20:48

ahh night I will try that! dh will prefer that he gets so grossed out lol bless him

I've started smep yesterday! I'm excited to see how this goes bfp due 10th June!

pulpi · 18/05/2015 20:11

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed things go a bit odd since I started ttcing, 88. I totally agree with wish: I thought I knew what was going on with my body each month, but it's a real education. I just traded my period tracker app for fertility diary, which updates according to the symptoms you input. Brilliant! So while period tracker has me ovulating at the end of the week, fertility diary thinks (based on a high, soft, and open cervix with watery cm) I might ov today!

nightandthelight · 18/05/2015 20:06

I stick a pillow under my bottom birchy otherwise sperm come trickling back out. Makes the whole thing less messy :)

birchygoo · 18/05/2015 19:46

Brooke I'm so sorry you are feeling so ill - hopefully you will be feeling better soon with antibiotics

sorry I can't help with any of your questions - I do have one of my own

bum on a pillow? what do you mean by this?
also dh said to me last night - do you not need to stand on your head or something lol but do you do any tricks?

Pogmella · 18/05/2015 19:36

Oh yeah- anyone else get bigger boobs post ov? Always assumed it was before ov but now I'm paying more attention it seems to be after? Still doing it eod just in case but curious....

Pogmella · 18/05/2015 19:33

brooke you're a flipping hero! When I passed blood I was in so much pain husband was sent to walk 3 miles to a&e at 1am on new years eve (with all the drunks!) to collect antibiotics for me immediately!

88blue think I'm 2dpo but going to wait til Fri 29th as not sure if I'm due Thur 28th or Mon 1st (last cycle got messed upby a load of long haul flights and jet lag)

birchygoo · 18/05/2015 19:18

ohh woohoo I found ye! I'll catch up now! x

DizzyMerry · 18/05/2015 18:57

Oh I didn't mean it in a sarcastic way 88 and wish and thanks for your replies. It's easy to skim past posts and not comment when you don't know what the answer is.

88 I've only seen a couple of bfn's and it's soul destroying. I refuse to test unless I'm a couple of weeks late.

nightandthelight · 18/05/2015 18:55

Merry I too have heard that stomach lying is the way forward!

88blueshoes · 18/05/2015 18:43

Sorry dizzy, didn't mean to ignore you either! Sadly I can't help but hopefully someone can.

And dizzy and sammy....I guess you're right. I'm the least patient person ever! Thank goodness I have you guys to talk sense, in my slightly crazy TTC mode I just know that testing will seem like a brilliant idea as soon as my internet cheapies fall through the letterbox. Will try and be sensible!

wishiwaspregnant · 18/05/2015 18:37

Sorry dizzy didn't mean to miss you out. Maybe someone with more info on positions will come along soon? I'm still waiting for some advice too Wink

DizzyMerry · 18/05/2015 18:16

Thanks mamma for giving me the time of day!

I've just done some googling and lying on the stomach for 15 mins is recommended with a pillow under the hips. Will be giving it a go.

9dpo is way too early 88. I'd try to wait til at least 12dpo.

loopylou1984 · 18/05/2015 18:06

88 - sat will only be 9dpo! Don't test early! It's too heart breaking to see those arctic sticks!

Brooke - sorry you're poorly, uti's are horrible. I too had one that got to the stage of blood on urine, just awful. Xx

88blueshoes · 18/05/2015 17:52

Hope you feel better soon brooke

pulpi I'm new to TTC but I've noticed people on other forums saying their cycle changed once they started. Maybe it's the stress of TTC, although it sounds like you've had plenty of other stressful things going on too!

carlton the main symptoms I get are cramps, sore boobs and backache. I'm useless at understanding CM! I don't really know what I'm looking for. I do use OPKs though and have found them very helpful.

wish I've signed onto the trial too now, thanks for the tip off!

I'm 4DPO so just trying to be patient right now! Thinking I might test Saturday morning. Anyone with me??

wishiwaspregnant · 18/05/2015 17:12

Oh and pulpi in answer to your previous question: personally I've not been noticing my cycles at all in 34 years until now. Ttc has opened my eyes! If u asked me a year ago how long my cycles were or when I last had AF or how long it was I'd have not had a clue! Completely clueless! Didn't even know what EWCM was until now! So I guess having temped for the first time last cycle I'm discovering a whole new world! I feel like a science experiment! Especially now I've signed onto the cb trial! Lol

wishiwaspregnant · 18/05/2015 17:05

Glad to hear that you have a diagnosis brooke uti can be so painful. The fact u could see the blood just goes to show how bad it was! Bless you! Fx for you I'm sure all will be fine now!
Quick question for anyone out there with same problem... Looking for advice on LPD? ...

mammabmamma · 18/05/2015 16:05

brooke - hope the anti b's kick in soon. Hopefully once the UTI has cleared up you will feel a bit better. I don't think you need to panic about the lines. Stick your feet up with some hot chocolate and a good book, or a flm.

DizzyMerry I'm not sure but didn't want to leave you out.

Carlton - there is a good way of knowing when you ovulate although most people cringe at the idea. When your body get's ready to ovulate, the "os" which is the entrance to the cervix (you can feel it as a little dip in your cervix with your finger) begins to open, and at it's peak the os opens to around a pen's width.

Now the best way to see this is with a speculum and your partner can have a look for you, if your partner is too squeamish or really doesn't want to, then you can do it with the speculum and a mirror.

Me and my husband do our own artificial insemination because of fertility issues, so for us it's vital that he deposits his sperm sample directly on top of the os, using a syringe, so it's given a helping and, this is how we conceived our little one :-) It's not for everyone though lol.

DizzyMerry · 18/05/2015 14:58

Brooke the antibiotics should start to kick in in the next couple of days and you should start to feel better. Try to get plenty of rest as you've really been through the mill over the weekend. Don't worry about the line being faint. You are pregnant and I'm sure it will get darker as your hcg levels start to rise.

Whoop whoop night. Hope you can dtd again tonight.

Carlton I get ewcm and only got ov symptoms a couple of cycles ago. I got cramps and a ache around my right ovary. I haven't noticed it since though.

Ok so what's the best position for a retroverted uterus? I may as well try all I can this cycle. Please don't say doggy style as DH is quite large and that position is agony for me!

Carltonlives · 18/05/2015 14:53

night I will definitely dtd tonight, toddler allowing Grin
