RESPONSE trial thread

No sign of my period yet and was due on today. I'm going to do a test in the morning if nothing by then. It's all a little confusing as it's all happening a little differently for me.

They initially said last Friday that if I'd been caught this cycle i wouldn't be able to be randomised. Then yesterday she did a pee test which came back negative and said if I got a positive later this week I could be randomised as long as I'm I'm the 5 week window. She had no pregnancy tests though. They were being delivered tomorrow so suggested I use my one and only first response tomorrow. I have in the past done a negative test the day before I'm due only to get a positive a few days later.

Not sure whether to be excited or scared!!!!

Claire I agree it seems really early and can just add to the pressure! I think I'll do a test next Thursday morning, that way it's fmu. I'm feeling strangely hopeful this month, normally we catch every 4th cycle and guess what? This is our 4th since the last mc - let's hope my theory works again!!
Literally going to DTD as much as possible, I'm going at this month all guns blazing lol!

Phillippa, yeah you start HPTS next Wed, which is only a week after. I think the ladies on here have varied but I got my BFP 10 days after my smiley, but ever so faint.

Girlie, that's great that they have given you some fact based evidence. To me, that would put me in a better frame of mind, one of Ok, let's keep going, stay positive and see what the seven weeks brings.

Girlie that's so good, I'm glad they took the time to find out for you... The trial nurses said one lady went for her 6 week scan and there wasn't anything there but went back for a scan at 7 weeks and it grown sooo much and had a heart beat, they said everyone was crying :) please don't give up hope ! I am the same my heads in the sand I don't really believe I'm pregnant yet as silly as it sounds (just hope I don't jinx it) !
I feel physically sick about tomorrow I'm just glad it's early so don't have time to think too much. We are going to a spa in the evening so be a nice distraction if it's bad.

Yes next wed philippa. I found the whole testing thing quite stressful to be honest. I knew that testing so early I would get negatives but I couldn't help but feel disappointed. by the time I got to my period being due I was drained and felt like I would be pleased when it arrived! gosh you might not be like that at all...hope not!!Do you usually fall preg quickly?xx

Had an email from the trial team today to say they have done some checking around the other trial sites and it appears at the 6 week scan, 50% of the time they're only seeing a pregnancy sack and the pregnancy goes onto be ok at 8 week stage. I'm not going to get excited as been in same position in the past but does seem to suggest it's not necessary completely bad new at this stage.

I can't stop smiling! It's such a relief! X

hi philippa your almost there. I would personally try again tonight. I got a positive on ic on the morning and positive on cb on the same night time. hopefully you 'll get yours tonight or tomorrow either way get bding!!x

Oh girlie I'm sorry to hear your scan didn't go as you'd hoped. Fingers crossed everything is alright and like others have said, a week can make a big difference!!
I'm cycle day 20 today and I got a pretty much positive internet opk and a dark line on the clearblue - but still no smiley face. Really hoping I get one in the morning, I'll be far too excited lol! Never wanted a smiley face so badly!

Have you other opk'ers had smileys yet??

Oh no, don't be silly, just got my fingers crossed for you that everything's alright! I was expecting alot of waiting around and J did say they had a crazy busy morning. When are you going for your next scan?
I had my 1st injection today at 4wk 6 days but I think there dates might be wrong as only got a veryyyyyy faint positive last Friday xx

Yea I got my goodie bag, she just asked me to wait and start on my next af, I've literally just finished bleeding from miscarriage sorry tmi.....so hopefully I'll start my normal cycle in 28 days (that's what happened after january) and I'm normally very regular........is anyone else being seen at heartlands?

Aah joy, you're the latest lady to get the bfp at Southampton? Apologises I think I was causing chaos with A & J, due to the bad scan and they couldn't get bloods out of me (three attempts) so they had to change over a few times. Hope it didn't impact

I was there today and had to park around the corner then move my car later on (I was there 5 hours being randomised etc) and the parking there is a complete joke, never known such small spaces xx

Thanks Indie. Couldn't get parked in the car park (queued for 45 mins before parking on the road) so very annoyed but in the grand scheme of things. There was another lady there today that had a bfp today, so that makes 4 from 10 at Southampton.

Also spoke to the trial team about the ov testing as they agreed with our thoughts that it causing a lot of stress and apps etc are just as good however as its part of the trial it can't changed for now.

I got my goodie bag today so I'm now officially part of the trial! Thankfully my dipstick test today was negative so my research nurse said if I do get a positive test at the end of this week I'll be able to be randomised and properly started on the trial. Not many symptoms though other than being knackered!
