clairemorgan81 · 16/05/2015 19:04

thanks for your kind words ladies.

hand holding for anyone with due dates around now. its such a difficult time x

Kazz2112 · 16/05/2015 12:09

That's absolutely heartbreaking Claire. Don't know how you move on from that. What we've all been through has been horrendous but that is on another level of grief. Thinking of you and your friend and hope you've got lots of people to help support you both and give you the strength you need. Especially your friend.

I would've been due on Thursday. That would've been my second dd. In my mind I should be holding a 6 month baby by now from pregnancy 1... instead I'm knee deep in exam papers. Sadly it was this time last year I was marking exam papers like crazy planning on what pram the money was going to be spent on. in about 10 days it'll be 12months from mc1.

This year the money I get will either be buying me a gorgeous pram... or a pair of appallingly expensive designer shoes!!! Obviously would prefer the first!!!! must think positive!

Marchgirl · 16/05/2015 09:11

hand holding for due date next week claire. I also have one next Thursday. Had pinned all my hopes on a bfp this week so it didn't seem so bad.

Claire absolutely gutted for your friend, such a long way they've come. They must be absolutely devastated :'(

Re scans, we get at 10 week at Cov but it's not routine. They just like to keep our minds more at ease.
I had 2 '12' weeks scans as you get your trial one and then your proper dating/nt if required one. I think size combined hers though.
My second one was 13+3 so it was nice to see him/her again :)

sizethree · 16/05/2015 08:26

Claire I'm do sorry. I don't know how I overlord that post. It's so tragic. Your poor friend. I can't even begin to imagine just how difficult that must be for her. Life is such a bastard sometimes. So cripplingly unfair.

clairemorgan81 · 16/05/2015 08:02

sorry about bfn March. its shit. hope your okay.
it's so devastating for my friend, baby rose would have been due next week and instead she might be burying her. tragic.
puts things into perspective.
I would have had a due date coming up next week too Angry
sorry I'm such a grump hope I'm not depressing everyone.
enjoy your weekend ladies x

Marchgirl · 16/05/2015 06:55

Sorry about the baby bomb size. So hard to hear these things. Won't be long til you have yours now though x

claire, how absolutely awful about your friend. Can't even imagine how hard it must be when your baby dies after you have already met it. Puts things in perspective. Also sorry to hear you had some abnormal test results. I'm not really sure what that result means for you long term but hopefully if your consultant isn't too concerned then it will be ok. And finally sorry af got you Sad. You really did have a crap day. I've just done a final test and still bfn so i can't kid myself anymore. So I'll stop the progesterone today and let af arrive.

I keep my appointments on their em eloped on the top shelf of the fridge. They don't seem as scary in there!
Sorry about that test result Claire. It's good you're being monitored.
Heard 2 pregnancy announcements from friends tonight. One utterly unplanned (my favourite kind of course - so flippin easy to breeze through!) and one who's pretty much a honeymoon baby. Argh, I'm trying to be happy for them but it's just so easy for some people. And that statistic of one in four pregnancies ending in miscarriage doesn't seem to apply to my friend group. I must be taking quite a few for the team. Obviously I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, but it's quite a struggle to deal with gushing tactless friends.
Anyway, I must stop comparing. Everyone has different routes to parenthood.

LouiseM1987 · 15/05/2015 21:42

Oh Claire That's really sad :( I hope you and your friend are as well as you can be at this time.
Xx

girliesaints · 15/05/2015 20:38

Boo Claire!

clairemorgan81 · 15/05/2015 20:32

thanks indie I like to know the "ins & outs" of everything. she honestly wasn't concerned but she did say we 'll see what the next lot of bloods show. Surely it can't be that significant as she would do more tests or at least tell me to see gp?
no vino unfortunately girlie as I'm on alert for my sis as I will be looking after my niece and nephew when she goes into Labour x

Indiedog · 15/05/2015 20:28

Joy, there is also a place near Paultons park, over the road, call Window To The Womb.

girliesaints · 15/05/2015 20:23

Sorry to hear today's not been the best Claire. Big glass of vino tonight?

Joy, I had a private scan with MC 1 as I had a gut feeling everything wasn't going well and my GP wouldn't refer me. Went to a clinic in Bedford Place, which was reasonable x

Indiedog · 15/05/2015 20:19

This is what I found Claire. I do seem to remember when I worked on the labs that ranges can vary. So if yours is 52, under this info you are only the tiniest bit over. I hope you don't mind me looking but this kind of stuff interests me. It is very worrying when you get told something's not 'normal', I was terrified, they asked me if I had all these symptoms, but I didn't. Turns out it was all ok. Try to put it to the back of your mind. They will keep an eye lovey. Xx

The normal range is 0 to 51 international units per liter (IU/L).

Note: Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories. Talk to your doctor about the meaning of your specific test results.

The examples above show the common measurements for results for these tests. Some laboratories use different measurements or may test different specimens.

clairemorgan81 · 15/05/2015 20:12

indie it was the gamma gt test but my liver function results are completely normal. I think she said normal range is up to 45 and mines 52 but when they were done in Feb they were 70 something. she doesn't seem concerned and said they wouldn't have even done these tests in uk but this American company do it.....what a day.
on plus side my twin sis has had a little bloody show tonight so she may go into Labour soon x

Indiedog · 15/05/2015 20:05

Girlie, I did the same when my 12 and 20 wk scans came through. I tucked them in the draw. I've put the 12 wk up on the calendar, but not the 20 yet. I've got my first midwife appt booked now too, that's first week of June!

I'm still taking it in stages. Kind of landmarks to get to, so my next one is next Friday's scan. Then it will be going away to Spain and getting back in one piece.

Hope everyone else is ok, as can be, glad it's the weekend. X

Indiedog · 15/05/2015 19:51

Claire, that is awful. I too can not imagine how you can even begin to deal with that. Thoughts are with you, and your friend.

As for your liver results, I'm not sure what one yours is, but mine were squiffy to start with, and they thought a lab blib, retested then ok, and now during the trial various levels have fluctuated above/below the averages but nothing taking the results into the concerned range. They will probably run them again!
She showed me my last set of blood results last week, as I used to work i labs and it intrigues me. My BUN test was low, so I looked it up and apparently that's normal in pregnancy.
Try not to worry, and just let them guide you. You are being monitored more on this trial at least.

Xx

Joy2713 · 15/05/2015 19:33

So sorry to hear about your friends baby claire! What truly devasting news xx

Joy2713 · 15/05/2015 19:28

No we dont get a 10 wk although i am trying to get one thru epu as most of my mmc have been round the 9-10 week mark so need the reassurance instrad of waiting till 12 weeks! If not might just get a private one! Thats in Southampton. Do you get 2 12 week scans then? Xx

clairemorgan81 · 15/05/2015 19:21

having a rubbish day firstly my friend had a baby girl back in feb who was only 24 weeks, she was doing so well but got a bowel infection and has passed away today. so so sad I cannot begin to imagine how you deal with something like that.
then my consultant has just called me to say that my gammar gt results (relating to liver function ) is high. she repeated this test in April as the original test was high and she thought it might have been a lab blip but obviously not. I am practically tee total and its usually high in alcoholics she doesn't seem concerned but I'm a right worrier. it's not linked to miscarriages but I'm worried. then af showed up Sad. x

LouiseM1987 · 15/05/2015 18:52

Do you not get a 10 week scan thru the trial tho ? We have a 6 week (7 week if the 6 week isn't good) an 8,10 and 12 week. Then the official 12 week and then 20 week, we don't get our 12 week until we've seen the community midwife person. It's so strange how different places work... Are you down south ? I can never remember who's up north and south sorry xx

girliesaints · 15/05/2015 18:43

Sorry meant 12 & 20 wk! J did warn me but I had already received them. To be fair DH did hide them from me for a few days as I've had bad experiences getting scan dates for precious MC on the day or day after the MC has been confirmed.

LouiseM1987 · 15/05/2015 18:30

Fingers crossed girlie!

Do you not get a 12 week scan where you are ? Xx

Joy2713 · 15/05/2015 18:30

Do they do a 10 week scan? Though it was just the 8 then 12? I also got my 12 wk scan 20 wk dcan through the post and it was abit of a shock tbh but J did warn me xx
