pleased af finally has arrived gen and at least you can enjoy your hols and start afresh if that's makes sense x

clairemorgan81 · 08/06/2015 13:57

she uses same places on me March so at least they are doing same thing!! I think depending which week of cycle I am depends on areas she focuses on x

Genwah85 · 08/06/2015 13:55

Well dr rang said that she can't do anything to make af happen but she can give me tablets to keep it away while I'm on holiday so I suppose that was something! I've been tested negative on clear blue and first response since a few days after my last miscarriage....

Any how's. ..came off phone to dr went to toilet and well there she was in all her glory!

Marchgirl · 08/06/2015 13:50

Well, I don't think it actually triggers ovulation but rather normalises the hormones, so brings it back to the natural balance and helps you ov more normally ie around cd13 or cd14. I've been going for a few months now and it started to improve on the second month (but first month i got pg and mc). Not really sure how it works but my basal temperatures were too high so ovulation was delayed. I think my body was getting ready to ov earlier but never making it until later in the cycle which can lead to the egg being a bit too mature. Bbt is now consistently about 0.2 lower and the months when it's been lower I've had earlier ov.

I really believe it brought on my bleeds though when I needed them. She said she was using points to flush out the hormones. If you look at the sides of you tongue at the front then you might see little red spots. That's supposed to be signs of extra hormones in the system. She used needles in the sides of my calves and top of the foot near the toes to do this (I think). I find it all fascinating and whilst I don't necessarily understand (or really believe) all the TCM legends behind what's going on, it seems to work!

I've just started acupuncture I had 2nd session Friday, I'm hoping it helps with spotting and gets my cycles a little better. we 'll see. She said it should with my moods prior to af so even that alone is worth it!! I can't feel any difference yet but early days!

kazz I am total needle phobic but barely feel them they are teeny x

Kazz2112 · 08/06/2015 12:46

Acupuncture to trigger ovulation? Interesting. I'm still working on my needle phobia bit what better way to test!

Marchgirl · 08/06/2015 12:17

Oh gen, i was just thinking about you the other day. How annoying! I take it you are negative on a hpt? I sound like a broken record, but again, acupuncture can help to bring on af and normalise your hormone levels. Helped me after mc4 to make it come properly and also to sort me out last month after taking the progesterone, as i spotted for several days when it should have been af. Day After acu it started properly. (Could have been a coincidence of course! ) hope it comes soon. I think gps sometimes put you on the pill for a few months to normalise cycles, just wanted to mention it so you're prepared for that and you can have a think in advance about whether you want to do that

Hey ladies! I've been patiently waiting for my af as I was told I couldn't start trial until I had one cycle after mc, have waited 7 weeks and this morning I have booked a phone appoitment with Dr to see if there's a way to start it off, I go on holiday on June 21st and really don't want it then! Just my luck it will start while on plane on way there :( xx

Marchgirl · 08/06/2015 10:51

I can highly recommend acupuncture. Was very sceptical but I think it's worked.

OP posts:
Kazz2112 · 08/06/2015 09:04

Thats what I'm worried about. A bit earlier would be fine but later and it'll pretty much guarantee to count us out for this cycle.

Marchgirl · 08/06/2015 09:01

My smileys have been coming forward each month. I think the combined effect of the acupuncture and the progesterone. Used to be always around cd19 to 22, then went down to cd17 for a few months and this month cd13! Not that I'm complaining. Definitely better than cd28, which i got one month.

glad to hear you are doing so well choccy I bet you can't wait to find out if pink or blue....glad they are monitoring cyst.

Sorry af has shown up kazz roll.on next month for you. I fell really quickly with my m/c but isn't happening this time it's frustrating but I would rather not fall than m/c again.
I'm starting testing tomorrow and dreading the whole thing. I find it so stressful, and feel negative about this month already!!
I ov roughly within a couple of days every month xx

Kazz2112 · 08/06/2015 06:14

AF has arrived this morning. Think by the time i was still getting bfns on Friday I knew I was out but still a bit disappointed.

I think the frustrating thing is that being able to get pregnant very easily seemed to be the one thing we had going for us and now even that doesn't seem to be happening. Ah well....Hopefully 3rd month ttc lucky. Just hope I get my smiley around the same time as last month. Otherwise I'm away for my sisters hen do and DH is in Germany!!!! Do people's smileys tend to follow a pattern?

Choccywoccydodah · 07/06/2015 21:45

Awwww that's lovely she's so excited :) good idea warning her of potential problems but I'm sure all will be fine :)

I hadn't heard of the cyst either, I've looked online and a lady had hers removed at 33 weeks due to pain, it shows the video!!
I asked them to take it out back in October but they won't unless there's a problem grr!!
I think I'm having another boy as having the exact same pregnancy as ds, but who knows!!

Indiedog · 07/06/2015 20:37

Oww choccy, I've not heard of that before! Glad they are keeping and eye, and are on the ball if you need to be seen asap.
I hope it doesn't cause any more niggles.

How exciting your going to find out if it's pink or blue. We are too, with a private scan on 28th of this month. I couldn't wait till my normal scan which is the end of July!!
I have bets on mine being blue, I never had much nausea with DD, but this one, bluegh!!
DD is made up, she's nearly seven, and has mention a baby brother/sister many times! She can't wait to read it books. We did tell her it's like growing her plant seeds though, some grow big and strong and others don't. So mummy has to look after baby and hope it grows strong. Just so she has an inkling things can go wrong, she's old enough to have a little understanding. Also she said if it comes out to soon it might be poorly! Bless her ??

Do you have any guesses on your pip, ??????

Choccywoccydodah · 07/06/2015 19:52

*pip

Choccywoccydodah · 07/06/2015 19:51

Kazz has af arrived yet? Hoping she stays away and your bfp is in the way!!

Indie how exciting you've now told family and dd :) Bet they are so excited!!! What did did say?

Girlie so glad you're being seen so quickly :) Hopefully they'll have some answers for you and you'll be able to crack on :)

Joy how exciting about being the only response twin pregnancy!! Will you get scanned more on the trial?

All good here. Got home at 2am this morning, so pretty knackered.
Had a massive achy pain in my left side all day yesterday and this morning/early afternoon.
I have a fimbrial cyst the size of a grapefruit that side and they said I MAY get pain if it twists. I phoned Epu this morning (that's who they told me to call if I had pain that side so they could check it). Lady said to come in if the pain continued or for worse. I have my anomaly scan weds and she said they would check it then if I ask otherwise they'll get me in before.
It seems to have eased a bit now that goodness, it bloody hurt!
3 days til we see pop again and find out if pink or blue Grin

girliesaints · 06/06/2015 23:54

Thanks Joy & Indie. Met Dr C very briefly when I signed up to the trial and seemed nice then but didn't discuss any of my history.

Does seem that having done the Response trial, I'm now being fast tracked through to the next stage, which I'm of course pleased x

Joy2713 · 06/06/2015 21:56

Dr C is lovely!
I have meet her a few times and have had several operations done by her along with other tests!
She can be blunt but is nice with it if that makes sense xx

Indiedog · 06/06/2015 18:04

Hi girlie. I haven't actually seen Cheong in person, but spoke to her on the phone.
I rang up to speak to a receptionist to moan that my appointment was five months after MC. I got put through to Cheong herself!! I was very embarrassed and couldn't stop apologising! She thought it was amusing!

She was very nice, let me explain my situation, asked about all my MCs, said about the trial with SB which I already knew about, and the Response trial. She was the one who said I could be a good candidate for Response.
To cut a long story short, it was like fate getting put through to her by mistake.
If she is as nice as she was on the phone to me, then hopefully you will have a good experience. I can't comment on what her procedures or what suggestions she might have though.

So pleased you are getting some action quickly, the waiting is awful, and that was what made me ring back in January.

Would love to know what she is like.
Keeping everything crossed for you, and some answers xx

girliesaints · 06/06/2015 16:51

Has any of the Southampton ladies had a consultation before with Dr Cheong and if so what did you think? I've got an appointment with her at the end of June (subject to getting go referral sorted) which I'm pleased it's going to be quick. I'm hoping to go to Coventry to get unk cells tested so interested to know if she's likely to be open the idea or not.

Indiedog · 06/06/2015 11:46

I feeling ok Joy, thank you.
It was very daunting coming off the injections, but I was on holiday so it took my mind off it, we also told inlaws and DD whilst there Grin
All in all I feel fine, just looking a bit fat Wink

With it now public and people congratulating me, I still keep saying Keep your fingers crossed! I must sound like a spoil sport, but just taking it bit by bit. We have booked a 16 week scan as I can,t wait till end of July to know things are still ok!! Plus ?? or ??!!

Joy2713 · 06/06/2015 11:08

Yes we've told both our families and my boss! Seems so much harder to keep secret now its twins, apparently im the only person across the whole trial expecting twins at the minute! Still sinking in!

How are yoy feeling Indie now you've passed the 12 week mark? Xx

Kazz2112 · 06/06/2015 10:56

Definitely. Kind of hoping it arrives this afternoon so I can indulge in a glass of prosecco in the sun this evening.

Marchgirl · 06/06/2015 09:14

Oh kazz, I'm sorry. I was so sure it was going to be your month. Still holding out a glimmer of hope but if it's not to be then i hope af arrives quickly so you can get on with the next cycle
