TWW officially begins!!!!!

AF due 13th May and have no idea of how I'm going to wait that long!

This is our first cycle TTC baby #1 and since we have decided to try I have been very anxious. I just want this to happen, my close family have all had fertility issues and I've convinced myself I will too.

Just thought I'd start thus for support for all wanting some words if encouragement.

Hi girls

I am soooo bored with work - I feel that once you have handed your notice in your should be able to leave then, its pointless cos you never really do anything in the notice period anyway! I don't know what I will do once the hen weekend is done this weekend as I have been filling my time with that...

elle oh my goodness that is a lot of bleeding, no wonder you didn't feel up for DTD this month, I don't think I would either. Bless you. I hope the test results show something when you get them tomorrow.

soda that is very strange too, it is strange how we all seem to be going through similar things with the ttc and our bodies. definitely keep records of it all and can then see if it becomes more of a pattern, but hopefully it is just an "odd" month. Hopefully the holiday will let you relax like you say and give you a break from everything in life, so you can enjoy your time off and being together.

gakay well it sounds like the appt went well - given the circumstances around meetings/DP having to leave, and good that you have some info that will help. Sounds like they will take things positively and good that they will help you in september for the IVF route. Hopefully DP will use it as a reason to stop smoking, even if its only a "short term" stopping,

Not much to report on for me.... I am taking some tablet to delay my AF this month, as I was due on Friday, and well didn't fancy it in the heat in Barcelona. So FX it will all go according to plan on that one.

Things are so hectic at the moment, and I've had such a bad cold past week, I am shattered, but need to suck it up and get on with the hen weekend this weekend! Might wfh some days next week to help me get things sorted out/relax.

Sending you all hugs

gakay · 08/07/2015 13:00

Elle have you got your results yet?

On my way to work after my appt. I was rather nervous especially after a really horrible meeting at work first thing in the morning before I went there. Then DP was running late - had to try so hard not to snap at him. Then as the clinic was delayed in starting DP had to leave b4 I was seen to go to a meeting Angry

Anyway, the Dr was really nice. She gave me advice thats opposite to what my GP told me. Basically all my concerns were validated including the need for me being on high dose folic acid due to my previous medication hx and also because I suffer from arthritis it puts me at risk of having other autoimmune disease which could have contributed to my prev MCs x2. She was surprised my GP didn't even test for them. Will need to have other scans too but she doesn't think there would be anything structurally wrong. Anyway, if all tests are normal she said she would be happy to apply for ivf funding at our next appt in mid sept! DP will need to quit smoking first though...

Sodasoda · 07/07/2015 20:20

Thanks gakay. We are synched aren't we?! Let's hope we can be BFP pals too!! Good luck at your clinic appointment, let us know how it goes xx

gakay · 07/07/2015 19:34

Elle good luck with your results on Thursday. Gosh you bled for many days! That must be rather horrible and annoying especially with the heat last week. Not quite sure what that could be due to. Hopefully your results on Thursday could give you some answers or at least in terms of what it isnt due to.

soda that does sound a bit strange but think I might have cycles like that b4 I started TTC and just not paid much attention to it. Am afraid I don't have any words of wisdom here.
I'm also planning on trying the SMEP plan. Have sent the link to dp and he said OK. So we'll see. soda it feels like you are living an almost parallel life to me. Really looking forward to our holiday!

clinic appt at 10 tmw morning. Unfortunately DP will have to leave by the latest 10:40. Hope we'll get seen on time.

Sodasoda · 07/07/2015 10:51

Hi everyone,

elle good to hear from you. Do keep us posted on your results - fingers crossed. And you never know this cycle, once is all it takes after all!

Massive TMI ahead!!

I had a very strange cycle and now AF. I experienced a bit of brown discharge when I wiped and a couple of days a tiny bit in pants from about 8-12dpo. I was due AF on Saturday and woke up with minor AF pains and a bit more brown and a bit of red. I was sure this was AF so wore a pad to keep an eye on things and basically just had a bit of brown for rest of Saturday and then on Sunday I had a tiny bit of spotting in panty liner. By Monday I had nothing at all. This is really quite strange for me. I've never really had heavy periods but they'd always lasted 5ish days. Since ive been off the pill they've been 4 days with maybe an extra day of pantyliner at the end. I managed to convince myself that I could still be pregnant so did a test yesterday but BFN.

So just going to put it down as an odd cycle unless anyone has any words of wisdom? This month I'm trying all sorts of random stuff ive read about! Going to get some preseed and drink grapefruit juice for better EWCM. And going to try the SMEP - basically DTD every other day for most of the cycle. Also going on hols in a couple of weeks so really hoping that will help us both to properly relax.

Fingers crossed for us all xx

ellewalk · 07/07/2015 10:30

Morning all, sorry to anyone who's AF arrived.

So been a while just been busy with life!

gakay glad your results were normal, I am back at the GP to get all my results on Thursday, including my CD21 blood test.

soda enjoy the planning and lead up to the wedding, so much to feel positive about Smile Hope the teeth are looking nice and white?

bourbon stay in touch even though you have decided to not TTC for a few months whilst you get settled in with all the changes that are happening in your life, it does seem a sensible decision. Hope you enjoy the hen party (if it has not already happened and I have missed it lol!

I will keep you up to date with the bleeding situation, finally stopped on CD20 so from CD9 till then I was bleeding which eased to a spotting. I am now CD24 of what is normally a 26 cycle, AF due this friday. GP took lots of swabs and has ordered a battery of blood tests for me, I get the results on Thursday....yikes!

Not holding at much hope this cycle we only dtd twice in fertile window, the morning of the day when I got my +opk (that afternoon) and a few days later. Not really been up for it much what with the bleeding Sad

Welcome to any newbies and wishing you all the luck in the world, off the get a Brew

neetie1 · 06/07/2015 10:31

Starting to get cramps but fairly mild and slight discharge so thinking maybe this isn't the month :(

gakay · 06/07/2015 07:39

Morning everyone!

Welcome neetie

twas sorry that you are feeling discouraged. I'm feeling a bit like this too. It's been 10 months already…

London why does your sister think you need Clomid? Do you have pcos? Are you not ovulating? No news ABT my spotting yet. My progesterone came back normal. Will see what my gynae appt says.

AF also came on Saturday as expected. I really don't know what to do anymore.
Went to party on Saturday night. Saw a woman whom I wasn't sure she had put on weight or is pg. Was so glad that I didnt hear her announcement. She has 2 kids already and is pg again. She said they "weren't even trying"! Would have punched her or burst out crying.

londonrach · 06/07/2015 07:02

Hugs soda.

Sodasoda · 05/07/2015 22:53

AF came yesterday, right on time, the b*tch!!

Onto month #4.

Trying to Stay positive as a I've got lots going on at the moment with wedding planning etc and I want to use my teeth whitening stuff which isn't suitable for pregnancy!

Hope everyone else is ok and had good weekends.

Welcome neetie

london I don't know much about clomid etc but as you say, it's only been 3 months so it's not long yet.

londonrach · 04/07/2015 17:53

What clomid. My sister thinks i need it. Only been three months so far. Gakay any news re your spotting. Soda hoping af stays away for you. X

Twasthecatthatdidit · 04/07/2015 00:07

Hi all, really hoping we get at least one bfp on this thread! Soda, sorry to say I had a bit of brown spotting which I was hoping was implantation but turned into af 3 days later.
Feeling a bit discouraged. Over the last 6 months (excluding the mc cycle), my cycle has varied between 26 days to 36 days. How can we keep dtd for that huge potential fertility period. Add a toddler, constant visitors (that plus tiredness kiboshed sex the day my opk showed a potential positive), 2 full time jobs and frequent travel (eg dh due to be away next weekend) I just don't know how I can hope to get pregnant!

neetie1 · 03/07/2015 19:14

Hiya am also on tww for second month in a row.. Am 43 and ttc #1.
Ovulated at the weekend and getting slight metallic yukky taste in mouth ... so will wait and see.

gakay · 03/07/2015 18:44

soda sorry for the bfn.
I didn't bother testing this morning as am sure AF is imminent now.
My spotting is generally a bit of pink mixed with cm when I wipe. Not everytime I go to the loo, only a few times a day. I also get brown spotting at the tail end of AF but my premenstrual one is very different.
I'll hopefully learn more about it when I go for my appt next week. Will update you all on that.

That's really difficult with your DP's friend. I would probably burst out crying if I was there.

Tmw we've been invited to go to DP's senior colleague's house for lunch. a couple who I really hate have been invited as well. Will have to contain myself and behave gracefully tmw. Gonna be a challenge.

Happy weekend everyone!

Sodasoda · 03/07/2015 13:35

Lunchtime in the park again for me!

And also another BFN for me this morning. AF due tomorrow so you never know but pretty certain I'm out this month and will just try not to let it ruin the weekend.

gakay can I ask a bit of a personal question? When you say you spot is it red / brown? Is it in pants or when you wipe etc? How much? Like a pantyliner? Sorry to be gross! I had a tiny bit on Monday which j hoped was IB but last couple of days I've had brown when I wipe. It's really strange. Of course it could be signal AF is coming but I've never had this before and it's really not like blood at all - more like mucus. And not in pants. Sorry!! I sometimes get brown as a tail end of AF but never before. Hmmmmm.

Went for a drink with a friend of DP last night. She doesn't know we're trying but she's just found out she's pregnant. First month of trying. She actually said 'I'm really surprised how fertile I am' Nearly threw my drink at her!!

bourbon lovely to hear from you and happy belated birthday! Please do check in and visit - we want you to know when we get our BFPS!! And we want to know how you're getting on with your job etc.

Hope everyone has nice weekends planned xx

gakay · 02/07/2015 18:21

soda guess for me the spotting has become like a pattern now so I don't think it will be IB for me. But cos this is not usual for you so it's probably different. In a way, cos I've spent so much time obsessing and googling in the last few cycles it feels much easier this time.

I know how you feel about your best friend. Must be hard with the mixed feelings.

bourbon so nice to hear from you. Was wondering how you are doing. End of July is so soon. How exciting! Oh, and happu belated birthday.
Whats the plan for the hen party?
I dont know if I will have one. Most of my friends have young children - would be hard to organise.
And YES! Please stay on the thread! We would miss you otherwise. Would like to hear all about your new job. And also any tips on wedding planning etx. Anything to keep us distracted from obsessing too much x

bourbondreams · 02/07/2015 13:56

Hi girls!!

Not been about for a few days, was my birthday last week, and was away in scotland for it. have handed in notice and start new job at end of July - its all go for us now!

This month we decided not to try, which whilst disappointing I think it was the right thing for us at the moment, I really don't think it would be good to actively try just as changing jobs, especially as it is my dream job. We've decided that we will try after Christmas now, and hopefully by then my periods will be totally back to normal, as still a bit odd after stopping my pill in Jan.

elle let me know how you get on with the docs re the spotting, i get this every month around the same time, which is odd. No idea why, I am keeping track of it all and will see, but be interesting to see what the doctors say to you.

soda & gakay sorry for your BFN :( I am keeping my fx for you both.

hope the wedding plans are going well for you both :) its nice to have that distraction for you both too.

I have the hen weekend next weekend, which is going fine, planning has been a bit stressful - but I am just keeping positive and telling myself it will all be over soon! I think its just cos so much has been going on recently. Also realised I am due AF on that, so I have ordered online for the period delay pill, so hopefully that will be OK for me to collect and start Monday to make sure it doesn't happen! As I don't need that interferring.

So even though we aren't TTC at the mo, if Ok with you ladies, I'd like to keep updated and on the thread so can see how things are going for you all?

Sodasoda · 02/07/2015 13:26

gakay sorry for my super selfish post! I'm really sorry about your BFN too! I have been googling like a mad person after I experienced spotting a few days ago and I know you previously found the article about sporting being a bad sign but I've read a LOT of stories of ladies who've got a BFP after spotting for a while. Fx

Sodasoda · 02/07/2015 13:23

Thanks a lot gakay. As you say, all is not lost - I'm only 11dpo today with AF due on Saturday (I seem to have a shortish luteal phase). And as you say, if it's a no this month I've got plenty of other things to keep me occupied! I also got some teeth whitening stuff from the dentist but I haven't used any yet as it's not suitable for pregnancy. I'd really like nice white teeth for the wedding!!

But still, it's hard not to bs disappointed if it doesn't happen isn't it? This month we DTD every day during my fertile window except one day, and a couple of days either side! And twice on ovulation day! Sorry for TMI!

Anyway, gakay I hope DP gets registered and takes a test too - it's not like the test is too unpleasant for men!

I think a lot of people have problems conceiving but just don't talk about it.

My best friend has just told me she's pregnant. I'm really pleased for her obviously but a bit jealous / gutted too. Would be so nice to get pregnant close to her so we can go through it all together!

gakay · 02/07/2015 08:37

soda I'm so sorry. Guess until AF comes you still have a chance. I know you would probably prefer to get a BFP now but perhaps this way you get to enjoy your wedding in 7 weeks time without horrible morning sickness etc?

Also a bfn for me this morning as expected. Had horrible muscle ache last night and spotting is getting a little darker. Just want af to come NOW!

DP said he will try and go to my GP surgery to collect my results today. Hope he will get himself registered at the same time.
Our friends are also going doe ivf. They've been waiting for a long while and think it's finally happening for them.

Sodasoda · 02/07/2015 07:58

I caved this morning. BFN Angry
Feeling pretty grumpy now.

Sodasoda · 01/07/2015 11:30

I'm sorry gakay, I can only imagine how upsetting it is when you've been trying a few months now.

Yeah I think your DP should definitely be tested. Was speaking to the wife of a friend of DP at weekend. They've been trying for a year, got tested and his swimmers aren't very swimmy. Not impossible for them but it could take a while so they're opting for IVF.

Feeling hopeful too but trying not to! No symptoms at all. Going to test on Friday morning if I can hold out that long!

gakay · 01/07/2015 10:13

twas am so sorry about your AF. At least it means you have started another cycle of hope.

Just had another bfn. Ovia says I can test today... and am spotting for the 2nd day. So am sure I'm out, again. This is so soul - destroying. Just want my AF to come asap now.

soda DP has not been tested. I imagine next week's clinic appt I'll just get to see a junior Dr or even a nurse and then be sent away for more tests. I'm not sure if they would want to see DP yet as my presenting complaint is premenstrual spotting. I hope they will test DP though and that's why I'm going to take him along with me even though the letter did not request that. DP needs to register with a GP but he's not doing anything about it.
Fx for you. Am feeling really hopeful for you!

Sodasoda · 30/06/2015 21:39

Sorry about AF twas. Have a glass of wine in the sun.

gakay - good news about your results but I can imagine it must be frustrating for you. Has DP been tested? Is your clinic appt next week for more tests? Hope AF doesn't arrive for you but if it does you can try next month knowing nothing is stopping you I guess! I know what you mean about the ring - you'll love it whatever.

No movement for me - it really was just a bit of a brown smear (sorry!) yesterday and a bit of cramping but nothing else at all today. Fingers crossed....

Twasthecatthatdidit · 30/06/2015 21:22

Well af definitely arrived here. Better luck next month, hey!
