TWW officially begins!!!!!

AF due 13th May and have no idea of how I'm going to wait that long!

This is our first cycle TTC baby #1 and since we have decided to try I have been very anxious. I just want this to happen, my close family have all had fertility issues and I've convinced myself I will too.

Just thought I'd start thus for support for all wanting some words if encouragement.

OMG...I have been trying to get on here for days! Just checked in and WHOA GOOD NEWS to hear!! Well done gakay I am just so pleased for you. Engaged and BFP, don't be getting greedy now Smile. Oh I am so pleased for you...all your wishes...please stay in touch would love to hear how you are getting on! Yeah I know I can't believe that I am running for 30 minutes! I have finished the 9 week app i used to get started and by the last week of it I was running the goal of 30 mins, all I am doing now is continuing to run for 30 minutes 3 times a week. Once I am comfortable running it I am going to stretch a bit further. Would definitely recommend the app.

soda enjoy your honeymoon, I didn't get one and I am nearly 5 years later one day husband will fly

So thanks for all the words of encouragement and soda your comment about how far I have come in 6 weeks really hit home, it is only 6 weeks I really struggle with patience! Thanks for reminding me that this is not something that will fix quickly and each time I get on the scales and I have lost weight then my chances of getting my BFP get greater. The research seems to suggest that losing 10% really does greatly increase the chance of conceiving naturally when you have PCOS.

Thanks again.

gakay · 25/08/2015 19:26

Oh, just remembered I've been having quite a bit of creamy cm this cycle...

gakay · 25/08/2015 18:35

soda thank you. It still doesn't feel real yet. Am now on my way to hosp to get a prescription for progesterone and aspirin as precaution. Prob won't need it but it would reassure me I'm doing everything esp when recommended by gynae.

I started testing from 7DPO but it stayed -ve on CBFM until 11DPO though I thought I saw a faint line on 10DPO.

I've got no symptoms whatsoever! So it worries me a bit because this time in the prev 2 I already had symptoms. But may be having something different is a good sign. So may be what you are experiencing is also a good sign. My spotting also miraculously stopped last month! Fx for you. Depending on which tests you are using tmw may still be too early to pick anything up. I really hope this is your month as well!

The big day is in mid Feb so if all goes well bump would be quite big already. But I've found a couple of dresses I think would be OK online from Australia. Hoping I would find something similar here.

So much is happening and work is really hectic too. Feel like I might implode soon...

Sodasoda · 25/08/2015 16:55

gakay!! I'm THRILLED for you! Congratulations!! I've been trying to get back on here since I saw your post but I think mumsnet has been down for a few days.

I'm now going to ask you a million questions! You said you'd tested early - do you know how many DPO you are? Any symptoms yet? So exciting that you're engaged too! When's the big day? Will the pregnancy affect things (dress etc?). Huge congratulations! Please do keep popping by - we don't want to lose you on here, it feels like we've all gone through a lot together, not just in the TTC world.

elle - how are you doing? Hope you're feeling better.

I'm due AF on Saturday (the day we jet off on honeymoon. Typical!). I'm getting increasingly excited this month but really trying hard not to get my hopes up... I've had no spotting at all (I've had it a bit in previous months) but lots of creamy CM and my nipples are agony! They always hurt straight after ovulation and then calm down again after a few days til they're fine again before AF but they still really hurt (very hard to shower with the water hitting them and also tender in my bra). Have also had constant lower back pain and cramping feelings. I stupidly tested on Sunday which would only be 6/7dpo. I think I'll test again tomorrow morning... Have been really trying not to symptom spot but this month I'm really hopeful that this is it. Fingers crossed! Xx

gakay · 21/08/2015 22:46

Hello girls! I'm so sorry about going missing for so long. So much has happened over the last month. But before I start talking about myself...

soda CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm so happy to hear that you had a wonderful day on your wedding. Cant believe I missed wishing you the best on your special day. Am sure it was amazing. Noticed any change since being married?

elle am sorry to hear about the bleeding. I can imagine it must be really devastating especially given how well you have done with the running and weight loss. And talking about the running! You are my hero runner! I'm so impressed! I know I was away for a month but gosh, you are now running for half an hour?!

bourbon so good to hear from you and am glad that your good job is going so well.

london am sorry AF came. fx for you that it will be your month soon.

sunflower & pickled welcome on board.

Okay, so...
I had a wonderful holiday! DP proposed one day when we were hiking in the Lake District. The view was beautiful and there were just the 2 of us. However, the ring is way too HUGE, so have to get it resized (which is another long and frustrating story with the shop but I'll not bore you).
So, I've just been busy wedding planning for the last month. We've got venue booked, save the date sent, invitation card designed, photographer shortlisted, make up artist shortlisted, and overall ideas for hen do decided. Found a wedding dress that I absolutely love from monsoon but they dont have my size anymore :(
Then 2 days ago, as you know I'm on that study which makes me test crazily early, I got my BFP! I was not expecting it at all and could not believe my eyes. Did a second one with a different brand to double check and it's still BFP. I've now been testing for 3 consecutive days now, but it still hasnt sunk in properly. I guess it's partly cos of the previous mc's but also because I've been really distracted by wedding planning and not expecting anything.
So, perhaps what other people keep saying is right, it happens the moment you stop thinking about TTC.

Sorry about the me me me, but really want to share this with you. I hope you wouldnt mind me to keep checking in, esp as I really dont know what might happen in the next few weeks... fx

Sodasoda · 21/08/2015 16:08

I'm so sorry elle that must be so tough to take when you've been working so hard. I'm afraid I really don't know too much about PCOS or the kind of bleeding you're having but perhaps because it's later in the month it's a sign that things are getting better? I'm sorry I'm probably not helping much but I wanted to reply to let you know I'm thinking of you. You've come so far in only 6 weeks so be proud and do something nice this weekend. Soda xx Flowers

ellewalk · 21/08/2015 14:11

So glad the wedding was good, i didn't doubt it for a second. Fingers crossed for you it would be wonderful to have a honeymoon baby!

Running and diet going well, had a bit of an off week this week as my 6 year god daughter came to stay for a few days so it was all sweets, fish and chips and ice cream!! Still did my runs though, managed to only put 1lb back on but it will off again this week. On the issue of inter menstrual bleeding, I was so excited on Tuesday I had got to CD14 with no bleeding, it has been tending to come around CD9-10, so thought this might be the month when my hard work really shows....maybe I will ovulate this month, started to get excited on for it to arrive CD15 (wednesday), it was only very light so thought well that is better than normal as well....Just been to the toilet at work and cried my heart out, it is full on bleeding again!! So no ovulation this month and in fact feels like no change whatsoever right now. I just have to keep in mind it has only been 6 weeks since I was diagnosed and have more weight to lose to reach the 10% goal the GP told me should have positive effects. It just upset me, in fact feeling very blue and in a bit of a dark place today.

How are things with you all, bourbon london Gakay, fingers crossed x

Sodasoda · 20/08/2015 09:10

Hi everyone, I'm a Mrs!! We had a wonderful day and are very happy. As everyone said the day flew by but we've got some lovely photos and memories. We're off on honeymoon next weekend so back to normality this week and next.

I got my peak OPK the day before the wedding so huge fingers crossed for us this month! AF due next weekend so we'll see. Not feeling hugely hopeful - we didn't DTD as much this month as other months as we were so busy / tired but have been fairly consistent with every other day and using pre-seed for the first month. If it doesn't work this time then we'll really go for it on honeymoon!

elle - how's the running / dieting going? Have you had less inter menstrual bleeding this month?

bourbon - hope the job is still going well.

london - sorry AF came again. On with the next cycle I guess. Hope we're able to provide some support.

Gakay - hope you're doing ok. We miss you on here!

Fingers crossed for everyone xx

ellewalk · 16/08/2015 13:40

Oh london so sorry af came. You will be parents you have to believe it. Please try not to worry and think to much about it
Stress can really effect fertility so try and let it all go and enjoy the fun of trying Wink I am thinking of you x

londonrach · 15/08/2015 21:59

Af came..why? We married x number if years and have alot if love. Dh and i think we be good parents (ok not not taking triedness into account but will try hard) ...why not yet.. Am thinking of my other waiting game friends regularly and hoping you better news than us. (Pulls herself up). Ok ladies this month we are on waiting game will get pregnant..this month..(crosses fingers)

ellewalk · 14/08/2015 09:10

Morning so another update, CD9, so far no inter-menstrual bleeding, it seems to like to arrive around CD9/10, so hoping the weight loss and increase in activity is working to reverse the symptoms of PCOS and I will start ovulating soon. I have decided that I am going to go back to the GO in 2 months, which will be 3 months since my diagnosis for some repeat blood CD21 blood tests to see if my hormone levels are correcting in any way. Fingers crossed. So then I am know running 28 minutes solid and will start the last week of the app next week when I reach the target of running for 30 minutes. Worked it out last night and running for 28 minutes I cover 2 miles! OMG! Weighed in last night and lost 3lbs this week so that i now 8lbs off over half a stone! Under a stone to go and I will have hit the GP's target to lose 10% of my weight, I want to lose a stone on top of that though!

soda Hope the wedding goes wonderfully for you, I am sure it will, enjoy it. I found the build up so slow but the day went by in a flash. much too quickly! I was thinking about the 5k race actually, I have set myself a target run to complete, from my house to my mum's, it is 3.3 miles and up and over a small fell, once I have done that then will enter a race! heard a lot about this pre-seed, have no idea so will google and see whether it is something I will try.

bourbon glad you are enjoying your job, stay in touch.

London did AF arrive? You ok?

Sunflower welcome, soda asks all the right questions, this TTC really does take over your mind, since finding out I am not ovulating due to PCOS I do seem to have stop stressing about it even though I live in hope!

All the best to us all x

Sodasoda · 12/08/2015 22:49

Hi guys! Hope everyone is well! I'm good, really excited for my wedding now! The time is going sooooo slowly! Think everything is sorted now so just trying to relax and enjoy the next few days and get my nails done etc...

elle - it sounds like you're doing great! Well done! You should try and enter a 5k race or something - give you something else to work towards. I'm really pleased you're feeling so positive and getting support and hope from PCOS forums. But please keep coming back here!

bourbon - so glad you're enjoying your job! Hooray! You deserve it.

london - hi! Hope things are good with you. If AF was late are you sure it's not for a good reason?!

sunflower - welcome, hope you get your BFP. Have you recently come off BC? For what it's worth I've had months with spotting and without spotting since coming off pill a few months ago and no BFP for me yet so not sure what it means...!

In terms off TTC - I'm on CD14 today. No peak on OPK yet - pretty sure that'll be on wedding weekend! I'm trying pre-seed this month. First time last night - TMI alert - it was good although a little messy! Fingers crossed for this month.

Love to you all xx

Sunflower86 · 10/08/2015 23:11

Hi everyone, your posts have been really helpful to my crazed brain so I thought I'd say hi.

Ttc #1 and month 1 but its taken over my brain imagining all these symptoms I may or may not have. AF due in 7 days but have been very lightly spotting this past week, could be signs? Did a test stupidly early which was of course bfn, dont know why I thought I could defy science. Fx for you all

ellewalk · 10/08/2015 22:57

I know what you mean London so frustrating. ..you can't help but have that seed of hope when af doesn't arrive only to know it will be dashed wgen it does arrive....thinking of you x

londonrach · 10/08/2015 22:00

Ellen. Im also getting cross with af. She was due yesterday. I just want her here and gone so i can get on with ttc again. Grrr.

ellewalk · 10/08/2015 09:46

Just thought I would update, AF arrived Thursday morning, 2 days late but it came as I suspected. I have been looking a TTC with PCOS thread on here and it is really informative, if a bit overwhelming.. They all seem to know the ins and outs of everything! The good news is in the few weeks that I have been following there have been a few BFP's so that is encouraging.

So have finished week 7 of my running app and start week 8 on tuesday, it ups the running to 28 minutes AAHHH. I do 3 runs of that then for the final week it goes up again to 30 minutes and I have 3 runs then I have finished the app, although I intend to continue running. If anyone is looking for something to do for exercise then i cannot recommend this app enough. Whilst it was daunting and really hard going at the beginning it got easier quickly! the 1st week you run for no more than 60 seconds! So have gone from that to running a solid 25 minutes am just amazed It is no more than 30 minutes long 3 times a week it really fits in well with life. Weight is still coming off on the low gi food plan and exercise and am nearly at half a stone, I am hoping that this is the week when I will hit that first target please god

Fingers crossed for us all xx

ellewalk · 04/08/2015 09:22

Morning everyone,

So just checking in and catching up.

Soda thanks for the words of encouragement, glad you enjoyed Italy, that is a place I would love to go, if I can ever convince DH to get on a plane! Can't believe the wedding is so soon, bet you are really excited, enjoy the wedding then is you are peaking Wink

Bourbon oh so glad you are enjoying the new job, that will do wonders for your stress levels which we all know can affect our fertility! Have you been to the GP about the inter-menstrual bleeding? Perhaps worth mentioning to them.

I'm an now running for 25 minutes and on week 7 of my running app, according to the 'coach' I can now apparently call myself a runner never thought I would call myself this As of last Thursday I had lost 5lbs in 3 weeks on a low GI food plan not a diet accompanied by the running which I have been doing for 7 weeks. So all in all rather pleased with myself. As for TWW today is AF day if my cycle arrives on time. No sign yet. Had one last test ini the cupboard from last month before the PCOS diagnosis did it last night and BFN. Not that I thought I was since there was no evidence I ovulated but still you hope......

Good luck to you all

bourbondreams · 03/08/2015 13:31

Hi ladies! Just checking in to say hiiiiii!! OMG I LOVE my new job! It's been brilliant so far, this is week 2 and have lots going on already!

I have some random bleeding in middle of my cycle again this month. No idea what's going on with it all. And it's not like I only just stopped my pill so not sure what's causing it. It's much more than has been over past couple months so who knows.

soda that's great re the peak being around the wedding fx it will be the month for you! You will be so distracted by wedding you never know :)

Hope the rest of you are ok I will write properly later but realised I hadn't said hi and wanted to before I get distracted again!

Sodasoda · 31/07/2015 17:04

Hi everyone!

I'm back from a lovely holiday in Italy and feeling very relaxed. Unfortunately AF arrived yesterday bang 1 day early which really upset me. I thought a bit of time off and some sun would really help and we DTD loads last month! Argh! Anyway, on the plus side I'll be able to have a glass of champagne at my wedding in just over 2 weeks time.In fact I've worked out I'll be pretty much peaking in my wedding day - now that would be a lovely wedding present!!

Anyway, hope everyone else is well. gakay - are you on your holiday still?

bourbon - hope the new job is going well.

london - good to hear from you. Glad you're keeping positive.

elle - you're doing so well with your running! So glad you're DH is being so supportive with it all too. And great that the weight is coming off. How much is it you've lost altogether now? I'm going to try and drop a few pounds in the next couple of weeks so I feel at my best for the wedding. Just going to go to the gym loads and eat very little - basically the mad way to do it! And you never know re BFP - fingers crossed for you.

Welcome pickled - this thread hasn't had a BFP in ages and so deserves one! Hopefully you'll get yours. I have heard that headaches are a symptom but then go be honest when I'm in my TWW I pretty much convince myself that anything I'm experiencing is a symptom!

Hope everyone has nice weekends ahead xx

londonrach · 29/07/2015 21:36

Welcome pickled. I got spotting for my first month ttc...and nope im still trying so try not to look at symptoms now. Like ella im in the countdown now to af and hoping she stays away. No idea re headaches sorry x

ellewalk · 29/07/2015 09:16

Hi pickledsausage welcome, we all love to symptom spot and it seems that we have all had symptoms at some time or another! I really hope this is your symptoms and you will get a BFP when you POAS, don't get disheartened if it is BPN it is still early days, fingers crossed for you. x

pickledsausage · 28/07/2015 17:36

Hi everyone, can I join you on the wait please??

I'm 9 dpo and for the first time since ttc I have some symptoms! I woke up with a headache (only get them with a hangover usually!) and still have it, went a bit light headed earlier and looking back over the past few days have been quite irritable and bloated. Could be nothing but it's exciting to think it could be.

This was also the first month using the opk, I ovulated 4 days before I thought I would so was happy to have got the right time.

Has anyone else suffered with headaches? I'm trying to wait for a few days to POAS but realistically think I will tomo morning!!

I'm 30, ttc #1 and this is cycle 5 for anyone that wants to know!!

Everything crossed for us all Star
Xx

ellewalk · 28/07/2015 11:08

Morning, hope all is okay with everyone, just checking in. So managed the 20 minute run of week 5 off my running app, well chuffed with my little self, I was amazed I had done it. DH was really chuffed for me as well (he was at home when I got back). I really noticed that I recover much quicker after the run. So I am technically in the TWW although had inter-menstrual bleeding this cycle again. It was much less then last month, so hold out very little hope that I ovulated. Have given in with the OPK's as they are no use to me at all. I will always get a positive as my LH levels go through the roof because of my PCOS, but that does not mean that I have ovulated, as told by the doctor! But where there is life there is hope, so still trying to DTD around my fertile week. AF due in 7 days...

Fingers crossed for you all xxxx

londonrach · 25/07/2015 17:05

Checking in. Af came as clockwork last month. Dam you af. Still trying but think this is going to take some time and sadly being 40 i dont have much time. Glad to see others checking in. In middle of fertile window at mo. Spreading baby fairy dust to everyone. Hopefully this month everyone...x

ellewalk · 24/07/2015 09:39

Morning girls,

bourbon how is the new job, expect that you have been really busy!

soda only 3 weeks to go how exciting, hope you are enjoying Italy.

So then 1lb off this week and on week 5 of the running app. Would have liked more weight off but slow and steady is good I know, but patience is not one of my virtues, just aware that I have some much further to go with the weight loss. Last night I ran for 8 minutes walked for 5, twice so total of 16 mins running. Was worried as it went up from 5 to 8 mins but do you know something I just went out and did it. I am so proud of myself I really thought I wouldn't be able to but I just did! My final run of week 5 is running for a solid 20 min block. I have been worrying about it but then I was worrying about the one before and I did that quite easily.......bring it on! PCOS paha!

Take care.
