TWW officially begins!!!!!

AF due 13th May and have no idea of how I'm going to wait that long!

This is our first cycle TTC baby #1 and since we have decided to try I have been very anxious. I just want this to happen, my close family have all had fertility issues and I've convinced myself I will too.

Just thought I'd start thus for support for all wanting some words if encouragement.

Hi everyone, hope you all had good weekends.

AF due for me Wednesday or Thursday this week. It's taking all my will power not to test! But really going to try not to test until Thursday morning. I'm so sick of seeing BFN.

I'm feeling fairly normal although I'm pretty bloated and crampy today. Apart from that nothing very different. My boobs / nipples not sore at all and haven't been all month. They're usually sore for a few days after ovulation so that makes me a bit worried I didn't even ovulate this month! So basically what I'm saying is that I'm trying not to obsess at all. And failing badly!!

Sodasoda · 17/09/2015 17:33

Hello everyone! Sorry for not being around. Stuck in deep depression at being back at work!! I had a completely amazing honeymoon. We really pushed the boat out and did everything - hot air balloon ride, snorkelling with amazing fish, private dinners on the beach. It really was the holiday of a lifetime!

So I got positive OPK on the last 2 days of the holiday so just keeping fingers really crossed that it's worked this month. Also used pre-seed again. I just can't ever see a time again when we'll be so relaxed and we have the opportunity to DTD so much!

I'm on CD21 and AF due next Wednesday or Thursday. I tend to get AF either exactly 2 weeks after my first positive OPK test or the day before that. So my cycles tend to vary slightly in length depending on my positive OPK. So it'll be slightly shorter this month (27 days) as I got my positive on CD14 and it's been as late as CD18 before. As far as I can work out anyway!! Going to really try and be strong as well and not do tests unless AF late. I'm so sick of seeing BFN! But we'll see how that goes!

Anyway, enough about me!!

elle how is the bleeding going? Hope it's still lighter than normal. That surely must be a good sign and hopefully a bit encouraging for you?

gakay that is so frustrating about the clinic. Will it take long to be referred? When do you get the results from your other appointment? Did you decide about going in the trial? It must be a tough decision to stop TTC for 3 months when you want it so much. Such exciting news about your wedding! You're so organised! Did you decide on the dress in the end? It's tricky trying to keep everyone happy. The dress I got in the end wasn't my mums favourite (she didn't say anything I could just tell by her reactions) but i knew OH would love the one I got and I felt amazing and so comfortable in it and that's the main thing!

bourbon - great to hear from you and so glad to hear you're enjoying your job. It is really tough for us ladies who want a career as well!

Love to you all xx

gakay · 16/09/2015 12:48

Just left the clinic appt. It was a complete waste of time! Because it was a gynae/fertility clinic, and I've had 3 mc's which are all unexplained they said I need to get referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic but they can't refer, has to be done by GP. I knew that's the case and told my GP b4 but she naively said the Hosp would do it. Now have to go back to square one and book appt to see GP to get referral done. So frustrating. I don't know why I feel so disappointed when I knew this wouls be the case anyway...

gakay · 15/09/2015 19:45

Elle sounds like bleeding is later and lighter - may be a good sign. I agree with you that now that we are not TTC it does take quite a bit of pressure off. And am really enjoying a beer or 2 every now and then. Actually I really fancy a glass of bubbly. Need to find an occasion to have one soon.

Scan was OK yday and no discomfort at all to my surprise. The consultant was really nice. I think she struggled a bit with getting the dye in the right position so it took longer. She thinks it looks fine but she didn't seem completely sure. Am seeing gynae tmw and will find out all the results including DP's SA.

bourbon so good to hear from you! Am glad to hear you are loving your job. I know what you mean about not knowing when to TTC again. It is hard for us as women as this does affect our career and its difficult to manage both.

Yes, ring has been resized but its still a bit loose. Really want to resize it again but am worried that I would be seen as causing too much trouble.
I'm very proud with my wedding planning progress. Think have found the dress but will try again this wkn to make up my mind. Found hairdresser and makeup artist - need to book a trial though. Shortlisted a couple of photographers. Found cake maker and have a good idea of the kind of cake we want. Started a couple of DIY projects for wedding decoration.
Elle you're right. Wedding planning is really fun!

bourbondreams · 15/09/2015 18:05

Hi ladies! I've been a bit too long away... i had to find the thread as it wasn't saved!

soda congrats on the wedding & hope you had a lovely honeymoon :) and also looking forward to hearing about the honeymoon

Gakay I am so so sorry, what a rollercoaster of emotions for you. Your engagement sounds wonderful - did the ring get re-sized? And how are the plans going? February wedding sounds lovely :)

london how are you?

elle hope you are OK, I still get mid cycle bleeding, and its all a bit random, but hopefully will keep tracking and seeing any symptoms and will head to docs before we start ttc again to ask any advice by then.

And hi to all of you newbies (or not so newbies I guess!!!)

For me - its been crazy since starting new job - but I love it. We are just back from our trip away where i was MOH - which was lovely... it literally feels like we haven't stopped since I started my new job, and now back into it. But it has been going really well so far - and hopefully will continue to go well.

I think we will start ttc after Christmas or at some point in the new year... just need to figure it all out really, and with me really liking my job it makes it harder thinking about when to ttc. But we do want a baby so need to just figure it out and when it happens it does. This month I had to take the pill again to delay AF as otherwise it was going to ruin the holiday, and with my endo pains as bad as they have been I didn't want to risk it - so now I'm dreading when it does arrive!! Sure it will be OK...

Anyway - promise not to leave it so long again! Things will calm down a bit now MOH duties are finished and its just work...

Hugs to you all xxxx

ellewalk · 15/09/2015 09:18

Hi girls, just a quick one, gakay how was the scan, was it as you expected? It will be difficult to not TTC for 3 months when I know you want it so much. What I would say finding out that I was not ovulating (YET) really took the pressure off actual and things got so much better as I was not thinking about TTC. Perhaps the break will do you good, I do hope so.

bourbon, not heard from you for a while, how is the new job?

soda can't wait to hear about the honeymoon!

london how are you?

So bleeding AGAIN, CD11 now CD13, seems much lighter, and just there when I wipe, but you can never tell what it is going to do! So no ovulation yet.....think this is going to be a long journey! Will keep smiling or at least trying to.

See you all soon.

Sodasoda · 11/09/2015 23:14

Hi girls, just at the airport with a spot of wifi waiting to fly home - boooo! Have had a fantastic time. Ive been trying not to think about baby making but I did bring a couple of ovulation tests with me (couldn't help it!) and got positive yesterday and today so really pleased - slightly early for me (I'm CD15 today and have tended to get positives on CD18). But been really relaxed and DTD lots so fingers crossed!

Will write a less selfish update when I'm home!!

Have a good weekend everyone xx

gakay · 11/09/2015 13:11

Hi everyone. It's been a bit quiet here and hope everyone's been well.

Elle well done! It's amazing how quickly you are going to meet the target set by your GP. Am sure things are improving with the PCOS, and am sure you are also getting healthier and fitter which is really important as well. Am so happy for you.

Scan is on Monday next week. Don't think anything would be wrong from the scan as it seems my problem is with keeping the pg going. It's just another tick box thing to get through.
Yes, found out more about the trial. Talked to a few women who have been and found it really helpful but will need to not TTC for 3 cycles! Talked with DP about the trial. At first he didn't like the idea about not TTC for so long but he agrees it's better to get everything tested in case there is sth wrong that can be treated. So I'll just be here supporting you girls and cheering you on whilst taking a break from TTC.

This reminds me of you, bourbon. How are you doing? Hope the new job is treating you well and you are having an exciting time.

soda can't wait to hear more about your honeymoon!

London thinking of you too. Hope you are OK.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Tomorrow am going with DP for his appt to get measured up for his wedding suit then hopefully if weather is nice we'll go for a walk in Richmond.

ellewalk · 11/09/2015 09:19

Morning ladies, I hope you are all well.

gakay how are you doing?? How did the scan go? Have you looked into the trial anymore?

London how did the appointment go? you ok?

soda hope you are having (or had) a great honeymoon, was it fab?

So then AF has been and gone, about to enter my fertile week am CD9 and so far no bleeding although it tends to come later on in my cycle. So weigh in last night and another 1lb off so that is nearly a stone off now, should hit that target next week if I am good in the coming week. That leaves me another 5lbs to go until I hit the 10% target the GP set me, although I want to actually lose at least another stone. So fingers crossed things are getting better with the PCOS!

Happy Friday all Smile

gakay · 07/09/2015 12:52

Elle think I'll be your cycle buddy in spirit. I'm due for the HSG scan next Monday and think it would be when I'm ovulating (if mc isn't messing up my cycles too much) so probably will need to skip this cycle cos of the radiation. Hate the idea of wasting potential opportunities.
Also heard about a trial in Coventry for women with recurrent mc. Am thinking about going there to get extra investigations done, and it also requires to skip TTC for a month.
Anyway, how was your wkn? Hope AF pain has eased.

London hope you are feeling better. Have you got your GP appt? What is it for?

soda sounds like you are having a great time! Enjoy yourself!

I had a lovely day on Saturday with my bridesmaids planning the wedding and trying on dresses. I thought/think I've found the dress. But my parents seem to hate it. It's quite upsetting. Guess they are used to seeing brides wearing big wedding dresses whereas I like the opposite of that. They like thick material and I like flowy one. I felt really torn yesterday whether I should just get sth conventional to please others or to get sth I feel special in and risk people thinking I look hideous. Today I feel more certain again about the dress. Will try it again next wkn and decide then.

Sodasoda · 05/09/2015 22:29

Argh! Just typed a long message and lost it!!

So will just quickly check in for now.

elle - sorry about AF - is it positive your cycles are getting longer?

gakay - I'm so sorry for what you're going through. And for insensitive people. I'm glad you're in the system though. Hopefully that will help fast track you. And how did the dress shopping go? Did you find something? It's such an exciting time!

london - did AF arrive for you too? I'm sorry.

Looks like you're all cycle buddies now! I'm a bit ahead of you all - cd9 so nothing much to report. Just relaxing, DTD every day because we want to and not because we have to - it's lovely!

Have good weekends everyone xx

londonrach · 04/09/2015 19:05

Cries and heads for the wine. Have booked appt at gp. Congratulations soda x

ellewalk · 04/09/2015 14:21

Proper cycle buddies this month! Full flow today, trying to work but am really suffering with cramps. My periods have always been painful (when not on the pill!) from the very start I used to miss a least 1 day of school a month!! Think I am going to have to go home early I just need to take strong painkillers and curl up!!

That must have been so horrid, i'm quite lucky in that my circle of friends have all had their babies so don't hear baby news often. I just think some people have to talk about themselves even if it makes them insensitive. Because she has not had these struggles she just doesn't understand, if i hear it will happen one more time! I am sure all she was really wanting to do is give you her news and try to cheer you up by reminding you that you have a wedding to sort. Dresses....ahhh the memory, it is great fun so enjoy, you will just know when it is the right one!

Bring on the next cycle, it could be the one for both of us Star

gakay · 04/09/2015 09:10

Elle my cycle always starts later in the day. Looks like we can be cycle buddy this round. Well done for sticking with running and losing more weight.

My childhood friend has come to visit from abroad and is staying with us. I've not seen her in 2 years and during this time she's found her new husband and given birth to her baby - all completely unplanned. I'm really happy for her but it was also really difficult to hear her talking about how much she loves being a mother (she used to say how she didn't ever want to have a baby) whilst I was miscarrying. She was tried to brush aside my mc by reminding me the happiness of my upcoming wedding. I'm so glad that I've got the wedding to look forward to. And I am happy that I've found my OH. He is such a lovely man. Anyway, its Friday! Meeting my BMs tmw and will be trying dresses!

ellewalk · 03/09/2015 21:52

Hi so AF just arrived. ...strange for it to arrive this late in the day it normally comes first thing!! Anyway onwards and hopefully upwards, like you say new cycle of hope. 1lb off this week, which I am pleased about as my diet has not been great this week although still running 3 times a week. So positive thinking this could be the cycle when I ovulate just getting through a cycle with no weird bleeding would be a good start!

gakay I'm sorry it wasn't meant to be for you this cycle fingers crossed for the next cycle xxxx

gakay · 03/09/2015 18:10

My bleed has finally started! Its a bit more painful than usual but then I don't normally have any pain. Am glad that at least I can start a new cycle again.

Elle I know it is really frustrating but guess we can only just keep trying. I hope you get a BFP soon or for AF to arrive so that you get to start a new cycle of hope again.

ellewalk · 03/09/2015 09:19

Gakay I am so sorry how upsetting it must be to see that line and then it go away. I really hope you are ok FlowersCake. At least things are in place and you are getting some medical help.

No AF for me, on CD29 I normally have a 26-27 day cycle but it has gone as long as 29 days before (back in April). I have of course poas, first thing this morning and since CD27 and nothing but a BFN. I do not think I am preg at all. I had bad inter-menstrual bleeding this cycle about 8 days worth from cd14 so do not for one second think I even ovulated! This is so frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!

soda i so wish I was on a beach in the Caribbean, I am so jealous but also very happy for you, enjoy x

gakay · 02/09/2015 18:45

soda I'm so jealous! Wish I could be in the Caribbean. Enjoy your holiday!

I've not had any bleeding. Not even a tiny bit of spotting. Got advice from my gynae by email. She agrees that its an early mc. I was due for an early scan with her next week so will see if I bleed by then if not I can see her then. I've also got an appt for an HSG and a f/u appt with her the following week at the fertility clinic. Am so glad that I'm already on the system so don't have to wait too long to be seen although it may not be the most appropriate clinic.

Elle has AF come yet?
I can't wait for mine to come so that I can start again. Though am not sure how I would cope if and when I get a BFP again.

Sodasoda · 01/09/2015 22:25

Hi girls, just checking in.

gakay - I'm so so sorry to hear your news. Is there any way to confirm it? Perhaps they could do an early scan? Or is it too early for that? Have you had any bleeding at all? Is it a similar time to last time? Sorry if these are insensitive questions. I'm thinking of you and really hoping somehow that you're wrong!

elle and london - hi! Having a great time thanks. I'm sitting by the pool in the Caribbean at the moment Grin Just finished AF and on CD5. Unfortunately I think my peak time will be the weekend we get home but I'm just going to really relax and enjoy the next couple of weeks and not think about baby things too much.

elle is that a sign that your PCOs are getting better if your cycles are getting longer? I hope so!

london I'm keeping fingers crossed that AF stays away for you.

ellewalk · 01/09/2015 09:35

Gakay no I am so sorry! Sad How horrid I am thinking of you x

Soda enjoy that honeymoon!

london did AF arrive? mine is due today, poas anyway yesterday BFN so suspect she will come, although I think she will not come today. I am finding that my cycle is extending slightly!

londonrach · 31/08/2015 21:15

Soda where is your honeymoon. Hope you having a good time and come back pregnant. Congratulations. Am in waiting game again. Af due sat but suspect she will come.

gakay · 31/08/2015 11:49

soda hope you are enjoying your honeymoon.

Just a short one from me as am feeling really sad. Think I've lost my 3rd pg. Noticed I'm not feeling pg this morning, so did a pg test and its negative. Guess I can't have all my wishes come true all at the same time.

Sodasoda · 28/08/2015 13:56

AF arrived this morning. The one positive thing I can say about it is that at least it doesn't keep me guessing and hoping - it arrived first thing in the morning loud and clear. Pretty gutted and had a little cry this morning. I just really expected to be pregnant by now. I know that sounds ridiculous but basically everyone I know seems to have got pregnant straight away, why does it have to take me so long? Sorry for huge pity party. I'm ok really. I'm going on honeymoon tomorrow for 2 weeks so we'll certainly be giving it our best shot while we're away! And on the plus side I can definitely enjoy some alcohol!

I'll check in now and again while I'm away. Hope everyone is well and has something nice planned for the bank hol xx

ellewalk · 27/08/2015 10:01

soda 10dpo is still really early....try and wait till Saturday, easier said than done I know, fingers crossed for you this month xxx

Sodasoda · 26/08/2015 11:50

Glad you're feeling better about things elle. I can't believe you're running 30 minutes 3 times a week - wowsers!

gakay - hope you got your prescription and are doing ok.

I got BFN this morning but still early I guess. My nipples are less sore today so feeling a bit negative about things now. I don't chart temps so not exactly sure when I ovulated - I just use OPKs. Got a positive last Saturday so figuring that I Od on the Sunday. Would that be right? In which case I'm 10dpo.

I always get AF 14 days after my positive OPk (except last month when I was a day early!) so expecting AF on Friday or most likely Saturday. Obsessing much more this month than previously... Really going to try not to test again til Friday Saturday...
