The Rules of Bumsnet

You can shag, you can syringe, you can temp, you can OPK; as long as your aim is a BFP!

We're cliquey so fuck off. LPB will be annihilated.

Sorry to hear of your confusion (and pain) Rainy :( hope things improve soon! Flowers

Don't worry chops am fully aware that GP would send me away with a flea in my ear! Thanks for the advice (and also Sparkly). Money wise would be a pinch but depending on cost could be possible. Have emailed local private hospital and Spire to see if they offer fertility appts :)

Rainy34 · 27/04/2015 12:38

Hi everyone, so oh has major tummy ache and I am wondering if that is why I felt sick and dizzy over the weekend, spotting has ramped up a gear now and I constantly feel that my insides are following out, I have a pain in my hip since Friday and ovia sees that being a sign of pregnancy , everything is raising my hopes and then dashing them ,

chopsface · 27/04/2015 12:38

night I doubt any GP would listen to you until you'd been trying a lot longer but you could probably see a private consultant. Do you have a bupa or spire hospital where you live? Do you have a spare couple of 100£?

Sparkly123 · 27/04/2015 12:34

Night it actually doesn't shock me anymore the amount of times I've experienced a bad bedside manner! I just think - why be in that job if you are going to treat people that way?! So re fertility- do you have private clinics near you? I would just google for private hospitals nearby and see which ones offer fertility then have a read on their website through consultants and decide. I think you can prob expect to be around £150 for the consultation but it may be totally worth it if you can afford to.

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 12:26

Thanks Sparkly :) do you know how to find a fertility specialist? Don't know where to start!

Shocked by nomio's doc, not acceptable!

Sparkly123 · 27/04/2015 12:23

Purdita hope work is a nice break today! I look forward to your stories!

Dizzynorth that would be a late OV though right? Sorry if you have already said but do you use OPKs? Huge temp dip would indicate OV today.Have a nice day with your friend.. Hoping for no surprise preggo announcements from her!!

Night cd9 is rather early to OV lovely.i think there may be a blood test to check quality of eggs if that's what you are concerned with.. Dr Purdie will know. I think it's a good idea to check that out. And not with a gp!Flowers

Froggy hope you are feeling a bit better this am! Flowers

Melon Urgh that sounds rotten!! Get well sooon!Brew

Lucie if you are out there! Everything is crossed for you. Hope you had a safe journey home!Smile

Nomio glad you went to doc.. Although why does she keep doing this?! So frustrating for you! I hope you put her straight! (In the face, with a fist...!) Hopefully has been a little infection then and not what you were thinking. So you feel a bit easier today?

loopylou1984 · 27/04/2015 12:12

Will catch up with and update you all later - just off to find a pub for lunch with dh. Xx

loopylou1984 · 27/04/2015 12:10

Oh pug that's so horrible. How hard would it be to have two separate rooms/waiting areas for these things?
Hope you're doing okay, Xx

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 12:02

Thanks Purdie :) is it worth Temping a couple more months or just going to specialist straight away?

Woolly84 · 27/04/2015 11:59

brings over a footspa for purdie and some Cake

Woolly84 · 27/04/2015 11:56

tessie enjoy the rest of your holiday!

night as nomio says it might be worth seeing a fertility specialist about it, I imagine it's not that uncommon and hopefully perfectly treatable.

Glad you're okay pug, hope they're round to give you an update soon Flowers

nomio her bedside manner sounds appalling, honestly, talk about what not to say to someone TTCing! You ok? Glad you're feeling better today and hope whatever it was is on its way out Flowers

purdiepie · 27/04/2015 11:52

If I could afford Clark's shoes I wouldn't have to go cap in hand to the benefits agency for clothes vouchers

night, I didn't want to alarm you but yes, it can be injurious to ttc when you ov very early. Eggs just aren't mature enough. Clomid would maybe help.

Sammy, they put old people like me on Clomid just to shut us up.

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 11:49

Anything under 11 days Boris!

Thanks nomio, do you know how I find a specialist and how much it costs on average?

Nomio230 · 27/04/2015 11:45

Pug, how are you feeling? You seem to be amazingly brave, but please know that if you do need to cry or rant, we are here for you.

Night, I would go speak to a specialist if you can. It is probably not worth asking your GP about it, as they don't generally know much regarding fertility, and are often not allowed to prescribe the drugs. FX it can be fixed quickly and easily.

Tessie, hope you have a lovely time.

Frog, are you feeling a bit brighter today? I hope so. I normally feel crappy the first day, then on the second I start thinking about the next cycle.

I have been to see the Dr this morning. She doesn't seem to think it is OHSS, but suspects an infection. I had to do a urine sample & am about to go for blood tests, then she wants to see me again on Thurs. She really pissed me off as she referred to me as being pregnant twice! Erm, no!

So far today I feel a bit better, so whatever it was hopefully it is going.

Hairstylisttoboris · 27/04/2015 11:44

pug Thinking of you hope they are looking after you.
sammy sorry about the bumps. Focus on the end game - this is to get you your own bump.
night interesting. What do they define as a short FP? I ovulate on day 10 which seems far to early.

tessiegirl · 27/04/2015 11:42

Oh no, how inconsiderate of your DH Spinning! At least you can catch up later...I am also heard a spoiler for last night's episode so trying to stick fingers in my ears!!!

Haha!! Not to worry DizzyMerry! Smile

DizzyMerry · 27/04/2015 11:38

Oh for goodness sake! I meant happy birthday to your nan tessie should read before I post Blush

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 11:35

Thanks Merry am going to do more research later!

DizzyMerry · 27/04/2015 11:31

You put it so eloquently Woolly.

Night is it something that can be 'fixed'? Supplements? I really hope you get to the bottom of this to put your mind at rest.

Tessie happy birthday to your man. Hope you all have a lovely day.

spinningirl10 · 27/04/2015 11:29

Tessie, I missed Poldark! Dh came home just before it started and I'd rather watch it on my own. I saw a spoiler in the paper today so I quickly shut that down. Looking forward to catching up laterSmile

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 11:29

Hugs pug!

ThePug · 27/04/2015 11:24

Feeling fine, just having a cup of tea. Doctor hasn't been in yet so not been told much but assume all went well.

Sammy - as I was wheeled down to theatre I was taken past a massively pregnant lady and her husband, was the only point I nearly cried. Hope you are seen soon.

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 11:24

Just found a research paper that states very clearly that a short follicular phase affects fertility and miscarriage. They found that for normal to late ovulators the chance of a pregnancy being viable was 84%, for early ovulators it's 21% :(

Woolly84 · 27/04/2015 11:17

Oh sammy Flowers some of those bumps may have long TTC journeys behind them, and you're there to get closer to getting your very own bump - stay strong lovely x

pug! How was it? Hope you're okay and not feeling too out of it Flowers

tessiegirl · 27/04/2015 11:15

Thinking of you Pug How did it go? Flowers
