First ever tww!

Hi all, so I'm about to start my first ever tww - well my app says today is my last day of my fertile window, so will probably have a cheeky dtd tonight! But my period is due a week Sunday on 26 April, so it's two weeks exactly from now.

Is anyone else at the same point in their cycle and want to join me? I haven't bought any pg tests as I only want to take one if my period is late rather than testing at the earliest opportunity - all part of my (trying to be) relaxed approach to ttc. I'm not hopeful it's happened this month though, what with it being our first try and me having way too much to drink over the weekend which was my fertile window, I'm sure it will have stopped anything happening!

I know elderberries but its so hard isent it. I have at least 6 symptoms... In my head anyway haha. Band myself from googling as last month I was the same and really dissapointed with a BFN. Not to long for to you to wait until test day. AF is due Saturday for me. But I'll prob wait till Wednesday or Thursday to test if she doesn't come, only because of all the posts I have seen on here about people testing after no AF and getting BFN. who am I kidding, I'll be testing Sunday Grin

smellsofelderberries · 13/04/2015 23:09

Oh! I'm in my first TWW too! Due on on Friday so if nothing's arrived by Saturday morning I will test. I'm terrible for the symptom spotting right now too and have to keep reminding myself it would be literally impossible to have any symptoms on 10DPO.

I have been taking folic acid since January and I just ran out do have moved to boots own brand prenatal vitamins. I got the prenatal ones instead of the pre-conception ones as the prenatals are so much cheaper and are nearly identical, but I have a feeling the iron isn't really sitting very well Confused

I really admire you for not tracking Beckie. I am using OPKs and using Glow (and Kindara, though not liking that as much).

Thanks for starting the thread, Looking!

beckiepea83 · 13/04/2015 18:03

I'm also south. Not far from Cardiff.

beckiepea83 · 13/04/2015 18:02

Ah fab Chelle, thank you, I'll take a look. I'm sure I'll get really frustrated after a few months and start tracking everything. I'm already getting a nightmare of symptom spotting. Also why I am on here... So I can talk to someone about this and it's so nice to be in the same boat together!

Lollipop, welcome. Also my second month eeeeeee! Not tracking atm so just DTD when we feel we need to.

I did want kids before 30... Not it's changed to 35 Haha.

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/04/2015 17:58

I'm 27! And also from Wales Beckie, South! Where abouts you from? And you Chelle?

I just replied on the other thread lookingforadvice :) I'm 'allowed' help after 8 months instead of the usual 12. I completely agree with you about testing at the earliest opportunity! I don't think I'd be able to do that but I know I will be counting down each due date with bated breath!

beckie I've told a couple of really close friends. I'm such a blabber mouth I find it really hard to keep things a secret. Hence why I'm here, I guess! I need to talk to someone! I've got a really cool tracker on my phone that has a picture of a flower...I dont know the name of the app but if you type in period tracker, or something like that. That might help? If only to know when your period is due.

So beckie is 31? I'm 28. lookingforadvice?

Lolipoplady · 13/04/2015 17:19

This is my second cycle off of birth control pills, I'm currently in the 2ww and AF is due on Tuesday. I'm not sure if I've ovulated or not this month (see my thread on OPKs, argh!) but we dtd three times in what I am hoping was my fertile period. Not expecting anything though as it just seems too soon after starting ttc - would be amazing luck though!

beckiepea83 · 13/04/2015 17:07

Sorry lookingforadvice, only just seen your post. Yes this will be our first. I'm 31 and from Wales. Me and OH just got our first home. Been together over four years though. I have bought two tests but I'm not going to use them till I need to.

beckiepea83 · 13/04/2015 17:04

All exciting times Chelle, you sound a lot like me with all the day dreaming. It's all a drama sneaking around. Me and OH decided not to tell anyone that we TTC as less pressure but it's so hard. Are you also keeping it a secret? I don't track my cycle at the moment so it's all guess work.

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/04/2015 17:02

Hi beckie! Good to hear someone else is going to wait before testing, most other posters seem to want to test at earliest opportunity but like you I don't want to get caught up like that, at least not this early on! Is it your first?

chelle I've just asked you a question on another thread haha! Sorry to hear you're not ovulating regularly. Has the doc said they'll give you anything to help or is it a case of wait and see?

We basically have the same fertility time! Awesome!

I sent OH to asda with my cousin over the weekend and told him to try to sneak some pre-conception vitamins into the trolley. He managed to come back with a very funny story about how he ditched my cousin for a while and then had to hide the vitamins under the shoes in the George section after he was found!

I think I'm going to just wait and see. I'm not convinced that I've ovulated this month so can't get my hopes up too much. The doctor said that I'll probably have problems because I'm not really ovulating (grrr). I'm expecting it to take a while but am hopeful it won't!

I'm already dreaming of nurseries and how I'm going to tell OH that I'm pregnant. Want something special and memorable somehow.

beckiepea83 · 13/04/2015 16:33

Hi ladies, also in the tww. Bit further ahead than you. AF due Saturday. This is our second month TTC. Also on folic acid but not loving the stuff. Been feeling icky and blaming it on them. May have to try another brand. Going to wait till Saturday to see if AF turns up and even if by some sort of luck is doesn't I'll still hold out POAS till into next week I think. Trying not to get to caught up in it also, but it's hard. Good luck both!

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/04/2015 15:55

Lovely to hear someone else is in the same boat! Yeah I would get some vitamins, I started taking folic acid a week ago as it was only then we decided to ttc, but you can take it any time before you conceive I think? So no harm you getting some now!

My fertile window was Thurs-Tues originally, but when I updated my info yesterday this shifted so today is my last day. Bit annoying as we dtd Weds, Fri and Sun - Sunday had originally been the day with the highest fertility score (on Ovia) but this then changed to Sat when I put my info in yesterday! Typical.

What's your plans in terms of testing, you just going to wait and see if your period's late?

Hi Lookingforadvice.

I had my last fertile day yesterday. We dtd Fri, Sat and Sun but this is our first time too :)

I also havn't bought any pregnancy tests but am strongly considering getting some vitamins.

I guess we've missed the boat this month but it's def. an exciting time!
