First ever tww!

Hi all, so I'm about to start my first ever tww - well my app says today is my last day of my fertile window, so will probably have a cheeky dtd tonight! But my period is due a week Sunday on 26 April, so it's two weeks exactly from now.

Is anyone else at the same point in their cycle and want to join me? I haven't bought any pg tests as I only want to take one if my period is late rather than testing at the earliest opportunity - all part of my (trying to be) relaxed approach to ttc. I'm not hopeful it's happened this month though, what with it being our first try and me having way too much to drink over the weekend which was my fertile window, I'm sure it will have stopped anything happening!

Another first 2ww here. Am 5dpo and AF due around 26th so at least another week of waiting ahead of me before it's sensible to test.

I'm 43 DP is 46, he's got grown up kids and a granddaughter. I have had 2 previous pregnancies so know (in theory) that I can get pregnant. We decided in September to start trying but has taken until now to get a +ve op test. GP arranged bloods last month and, predictably, AF arrived a week later. Going to see him about results on the 30th and would love to be able to give him news that I don't need help but a midwife appointment! !

Hi all,

I'm also on my first TWW. What I hate the most is just not knowing my body anyway having been on some form of BC for the past 13 years. I've had one potentially normal 32 day cycle last month since stopping the mini-pill, but was there were 20 days between my all day cramps that used to mean AF would arrive exactly 14 days later.

OPK was positive 7/4 am but cramps didn't start until 9/4 pm so I am either 10 or 8 DPO. AF after 32 days due Sunday 25/4 or maybe Thursday going by my 2 week 'logic'....

I just want this month over with, so that I can get to know my body and cycle more.

We DTD every other day most of this month and my 'symptoms' are:

Constant ache/ cramping really low since about 8/6 DPO
A bit of pale brown discharge (spotting?) for couple of hours.
Increased appetite
Thirsty, which I never am,
Need the toilet more frequently and feel desperate but not.
A bit teary and short with DH. Never normally have (had) PMS.

The thing that makes me think I'm imagining it all is there's no change to my breasts.

Trying to hold off til Friday to POAS, knowing that a positive is unlikely at this stage and a negative will make no difference!

At least I'm back at work next week so haven't got as much time to imagine symptoms! Grr!

Fx to some BFP!

islablossom15 · 18/04/2015 10:58

Hiiiii Smile can I join?
Currently in month 2 of TTC #3 and I'm 9dpo,
I've got loads of symptoms and I generally just 'feel' pregnant (if that's possible Hmm) the only time I have ever felt like this before is when I conceived my 2 girls eeeekkk!

But I'm probably just losing the plot and obsessing.
I hope we see some BFPs on this thread!

chelle792 · 18/04/2015 07:49

smells did AF come?

lolipop how is it ever fair? OH told me a statistic... for a one night stand the chances of getting pregnant are 1 in 200,000. What an eye opener! Hmm

Lolipoplady · 17/04/2015 18:42

I've got a whole RAFT of symptoms even though I know that most likely I'm not actually pregnant. I'm not even sure if I ovulated this month Hmm

chelle you are so right - we go through life being given the impression that the slightest touch of sperm is going to get us pregnant instantly, but when you actually WANT to be pregnant you discover that it's really not that easy! Think I saw the statistic that in perfectly healthy couples having sex at exactly the right time (i.e. just before ovulation), only about 30% will conceive that cycle. So under normal conditions, you're waaaaaaay more likely to not get pregnant than get pregnant. Unfortunately for us!

chelle792 · 16/04/2015 07:18

I'm glad it's not just me beckie. I think OH isn't keen to chat about it or get excited because he doesn't want me to be too disheartened if it takes a while.

I'm not sure what names I like yet but will probably pick something traditional.

You're right dreaming, I was feeling so sick yesterday. I'm sure it's in my head! How come we are taught it's so easy to get pregnant when actually it's a precise science!! Hmm

beckiepea83 · 15/04/2015 22:54

Sorry for spamming... But wanted to say, My other sister has called her little girl Eyra. Very different. I love how the old names are coming back.

beckiepea83 · 15/04/2015 22:36

.... Very true dreamingof

beckiepea83 · 15/04/2015 22:33

Aww I talk about baby names all the time... Think OH just humors me most of the time. Haha. My sister is calling her little girl (due in May) Thea... So thankfully she has not picked any of my names What names do you like?

My boss is currently also pregnant and she doesn't want to find out what she is having but also won't tell any of us the names even though she has picked both of them!

dreamingofmynextsleep · 15/04/2015 21:05

It isn't over until the lady in red arrives :)
The 2ww is the biggest mind boggling wait ever...

chelle792 · 15/04/2015 20:52

Sounds like we aren't going to have a lucky month this month :( I hope one of us succeeds at least!

I'm not due on until next saturday.

I tried to speak to OH about baby names and nurseries, etc. Psycho! He said he's excited but not overly enthusiastic about discussing in great detail. He sent me towards you ladies.

Queazy · 15/04/2015 20:37

Hi all, just read the thread and symptom spotting too. Think I must be 7 DPO, so unlikely to have any symptoms even if was pregnant. Argghh! It's only first month for me too...I've gone nuts already Confused

beckiepea83 · 15/04/2015 20:23

Ah sorry to hear that smellsof... I am thinking the same thing as you! Have AF signs going on... Three days till the witch should be here!

I was there was a defenate sign that you were preganat... Like your wee turned green the second you was. Waiting and hoping is quite tiring lol

dreamingofmynextsleep · 15/04/2015 20:00

Feeling your frustration ladies!
Ovulated a week ago and been experiencing cramping and brown spotting for 2 days. I've got a headache I can't shift, super thirsty and bloated.
Not due AF until Monday :(

smellsofelderberries · 15/04/2015 15:28

Well, that was short-lived Sad have started spotting and have a definite 'my period is due on in the next day or two' symptom, so that's that. On the up side, I won't have a Christmas baby and CD1 should co-incise with me being in my new job enough to now get maternity pay. Still sad and annoyed that I'm sad as that was only our first month trying hap-hazardly so I really have no right to be sad!!

chelle792 · 15/04/2015 08:01

Symptom spotting is the worst!! I keep trying to te tell myself that the sore boobs and stomach cramps are usual monthly bits. Added to that I got a random dizzy spell yesterday and felt really sick yesterday night. Impossible yet but it messes with my head!!

beckie TMI but we have dtd every day since Friday and I'm starting to get soooo sore!! Maybe have to move to every other day

Lolipoplady · 14/04/2015 21:16

Oh the symptom spotting is awful isn't it! I am also guilty of that. It's just because I want it so much Grin

DP and I are currently apart so I wish I could dtd more often to be sure of catching ovulation when (if) it occurs, but I'm just thankful we were together in my estimated fertile period this month.

I found that my period went back to normal after stopping the pill too, only difference was that the first "real" period was 2 days later than in used to be (always had 28 day cycle). Had ewcm first cycle but just lots of water cm this cycle - sorry if tmi.

Lookingforadvice123 · 14/04/2015 13:37

Good luck to you all testing this weekend, let us know the outcomes!

MsCoconut my cycles went back to normal regularity straight after coming off the pill (microgynon) I even had (tmi) a massive blob of EWCM the first month! My periods have been very light though which makes me think it's still taking a while to adjust, so don't be too disheartened if they don't go back to normal straight away.

OP posts:
MsCoconut · 14/04/2015 13:16

lookingforadvice I'm in the same boat as you exactly. Even down to my fertility app readjusting the dates this weekend. Just came off the pill this month so would be reassured if af came when predicted in two weeks time to confirm a normal cycle. I had some reassuringly stretchy cm last night. Fx my ovaries are getting used to being back in action!

beckiepea83 · 14/04/2015 11:40

Yes yes yes wishiwas and it just leads to disappointment and then taking my moodiness out on OH! Oh yes we should let each other know how it goes, and the ladies just starting the tww. I'm also impatient.. Wanting everything yesterday. My younger sister is due in a few months... She is having a honey moon baby... I'm happy for her and excited to have a niece but you know how it is Blush

I Know exactly l what you mean Chelle this weekend I just haven't wanted to dtd atall and it's not like me. Feels like the enjoyment is going out of a bit as I'm focusing to much on getting pregnant. Need to try and relax and enjoy it.

wishiwaspregnant · 14/04/2015 11:02

hello, I'm also going to take a test on Saturday! Think there's a few of us.
Shall we report back our news (good or disappointing). We have been TTC for 4 months now. I'm ignoring any symptoms now, as I get all the same symptoms with PMS anyway so that'd make me pregnant every month!! Though last month my P was 2 days late which get me excited, however 2x neg tests and then my P appeared ):sad times
Trying not to get down, and I actually get better each month that passes which coping with the disappointment. It's not going to happen over night (says the neighbour with 4 kids) Hmmm... I'm very impatient!
Has anyone else had the same 'convinced I'm pregnant as having every symptom in the book' scenario?

chelle792 · 14/04/2015 09:52

Ah beckie how will we cope? Smile

I almost didn't want to do the deed last night and this morning! I said no to OH's attempts last night for the first time ever

This morning I managed to relax into it but I feel like I've automatically lumped about ten tonnes of pressure on myself.

beckiepea83 · 14/04/2015 09:28

Sorry Confused that's metallic taste in my mouth! Stupid auto correct!!

beckiepea83 · 14/04/2015 09:27

Ah Chelle, it is so hard not to. I admire the ones who don't!.. Not that I have heard of many. I'm going for meyalic taste and feeling sick on and off for the last two days (both more than likely from the folic acid vits), sore boobs, cramps and the tinniest bit of spotting (again AF due Sat so its gotta be that) and lower back pain (from working far to much Hmm) but wishful thinking always creeps in! Someone slap me now please!! Ah you never know though, you maybe surprised! Only came off my pill in Jan, so I'm still a little irregular.

chelle792 · 14/04/2015 08:58

Haha beckie I will definitely test the day after I'm due on!

I live in Hampshire.

Symptom spotting is bad bad bad.... I'm about 3dpo (potentially) and am already symptom spotting. Sore boobs and stomach cramps make me think it might be early AF or ovulation this week. Screwed up body!!
