Hope your midwife appointment goes well cupcake and good luck to your DH for his interview today Lulu.

Siarie · 06/05/2015 10:42

Oh Ducky I didn't mean it to be directed at you, it's just a general thought I had yesterday.

I hope he sleeps for you this evening, you're like me and can't nap in the day aren't you? I don't know why but I can't switch off when she sleeps in the day.

Ducky23 · 06/05/2015 10:22

Good luck today cupcake Smile

Hop everything is going ok siarie. I'm not wishing this time away at all but it is extremely difficult as I'm doing it all myself. I could cope with growth spurts etc as he would feed then go back to sleep but this is something else, he will not sleep. It's leaving me having only a couple of hours sleep per night as I'm sitting rocking him to sleep Confused

Getting free time to write here it a tad awkward at the moment ladies, so I hope you don't mind that I try and catch up where I can. Ducky It is hard to know how much to feed, at the moment I'm just feeding when DD wants food but as she gets older I can see how easy it is to just keep in the routine.

The worst bit for me is when you think you have a routine and then suddenly it changes. DD will be good for one night, maybe two then we think yay she's settling. But then suddenly there will be a off day, unsettling night, or she suddenly wants lots more food more often.

It kind of feels like you'll never have a routine again. But if there is anything I've learnt its that we spend so much time wishing away each phase. We rush through conception wishing away the last moments of being just the two of you, then we wish away our pregnancies wanting them to hurry up and come, when they do come we wish away their newborn days in hope they will sleep better soon.

I'm sure once you get to the next step you start wishing they were older, more progressed then too. Must learn to live in the moment.

Ducky23 · 06/05/2015 08:06

That's the problem cupcake, I worry that I feed him too much. He had lunch and dinner yesterday (didn't seem to help tho) and I will start breakfast soon but have to speak to the dietitian first about what they reccomend due to his allergies. I want to do blw in a few weeks.

Good luck Lulu's DH! Hope he gets it! How soon will he know?

That's hard Duckey. DS has had a couple of days like that and it is so exhausting. I am no help, I just carried him round or pushed him round all day then gave him to DH as he walked through the door. You must be shattered.

It is DH's interview today. He has gone off in his suit and looks really smart. I hope he gets it. It's an all day thing with a series of tasks and a presentation and interview. Not likely to end until 6. He will be very disappointed in himself if he doesn't.

Cupcake92 · 06/05/2015 07:44

Lulu that was really good of DS! And that filling sounds awful Confused I can't stand needles and injections. Tho... Being pregnant I'm about to have a lot of them! And also being rhesus negative I have extra ones! Confused I hope the numbness wore off soon, nothing worse than having a numb mouth and needing a drink Grin

Ducky I hate to say this but ur DS sounds so so so like my DS! Honestly he was so like urs with the sleeping etc. I can remember it so well, going from sleeping through to suddenly sleeping like a newborn again. DS started to sleep through again when we moved when he was 10 months old Confused he's still not a fantastic sleeper now Hmm I miss being able to put him to bed at 7:30/8 and him fall fast asleep and having the whole night to relax :) but not he won't fall asleep till about 9/10 and by then I'm ready for bed!
Food seemed to help my DS sleep but I felt I was feeding him to much if I kept giving him more and more. Confused hard work isn't it Ducky.

Ducky23 · 06/05/2015 07:34

Oh lulu I'm a bit jelous!

Ds slept awful again Hmm possibly one of his worst nights in quite a long time. He wasn't hungry he just wanted to be held. He would cry then go to sleep as soon as he was held, then wake up as soon as you put him down Hmm

He slept through and didn't wake until after 7 this morning! DH and I had a cuddle and a chat before he got up to go to work- just like the old days. Babies don't do a lot for intimacy do they- what with waking up at inconvenient moments, wanting to be fed and cuddled or producing smelly nappies at just the wrong time. It was lovely reclaiming our room.

Filling was not too bad but it took 3 injections to numb it because the nerves on each side of my mouth all overlap so both sides have to be numbed and it is the needle I hate most. I don't like the sound or smell of the drill either but I go. DS was made a fuss over by the nurse and watched quite happily. Didn't seem to mind the sound of the drill. He is a little flirt with his cheeky smile and big eyes and chubby rosy cheeks.

Very strange dream Cupcake! I hardly ever remember dreams.

Ds had a spoonful of my fromage frais tonight and spat it out. Grin

Cupcake92 · 05/05/2015 20:22

Oo yummy pear is good! Grin
Will be good once uve seen the dietician :) I wonder what they'll say to give him?
DS wasn't allowed gluten till he was 1 as we have a family history of celiac disease. Then he was tested not long after turning 1 but he was fine :)

And thank you!!! :) I love my midwife she's so lovely haha Grin I've wrote a huge list of questions for her tho!

Ducky23 · 05/05/2015 19:00

I hope so too! I started him having dinner tonight. But he's decided he will only have pear! He loves it! I see his dietitian 20th, can't come soon enough!

Oooooo good luck tomorrow Grin

Oh no Ducky ! Dentists are awful!
DS slept through but wouldn't go to bed till 10pm ! I was ready for bed at 8 lol!
I hope DS sleeps tonight for u! As for weening all I did was tiny spoons of puréed fruit and see if he ate it and he did lol I don't think I read up on spoon feeding :s

I've got my midwife appt tomorrow! Yay!

Ducky23 · 05/05/2015 07:12

Dentists terrify me! I have to go Thursday Confused

How did he sleep lulu?

Hope you got some sleep too cupcake! I had such strange dreams when I was pg, mainly saucy ones about people I REALLY don't fancy Blush

Ds slept badly again. He was too asleep to have his last bottle, so he had one around 6.30 then went to sleep, he woke up at 12 midnight for food and then again at 4am, then he woke up around 5 Hmm I'm hoping food may make him sleep but I really want to speak to a dietitian before I do anything as I have no idea what I'm doing Confused I wanted to do blw when he hits 6 months, but I can't find anything about spoon weaning before then

Cupcake92 · 05/05/2015 06:46

Oh no Ducky :( I hope ds managed to sleep last night well for u.

Lulu how did DS do in his room? I hated when I had to move DS but he started to sleep a lot better in his own room as he couldn't hear when we moved or turned over in bed etc. And oh gosh a filling replaced?? Oo I hate dentists! I'm not due back till February next year thank god! But that's also when DS has his 1st ever dentist appt! Now that's scary!

My dreams are getting so weird!! Confused it's feels so real as well. Last night I dremt I went into labour and said i wanted the pool room. I got there and they said it's available but we need to weigh u first etc. So they weighed me and then said 'sorry ur too light to go into the pool, u won't be able to pull urself out so u won't be able to use it'
Then they closed the doors to the pool room and I went and got a curry to eat and try to put more weight on.
Haha! How weird is that! I never used to dream Grin

LuluJakey1 · 04/05/2015 21:47

Yes, he sleeps through more often than not. In our room he is easily disturbed now whereas he used to sleep through anything. We have been thinking about it for a couple of weeks but I am being a wimp about it.

Anyway, he is in his room now and went straight to sleep. Not fazed at all by it. The monitor is on and we can hear occasional snuffley noises. I'll probably be awake half the night listening to the monitor.

We are going to bed now too. DH has work tomorrow and I am going to the dentist to have a big filling replaced.

Ducky23 · 04/05/2015 21:34

ooohhh I'm dreading moving ds Confused I still have to touch him to check his breathing at night! I do have an angelcare monitor mat but I think he might be a bit wriggly for it ATM.

Has he slept through a few nights now?

LuluJakey1 · 04/05/2015 21:20

Duckey, we took DS out for a long walk and had lunch out. When we got back I slept on the sofa too -for over an hour while DH made tea and entertained DS. And I am looking forward to my bed. Smile

DS had a little sleep in his room this afternoon and he was fine. We are going to try him in it tonight- he is having his feed as I write and is looking tired. Everything is set up. It will be nice to have our room back- he wakes up more easily now so we have to be careful with ipads and things. I hate the thought of him sleeping by himself though.

Ducky23 · 04/05/2015 21:13

I loved my maternity leggings! I can't remember where I got them from but they were sooo comfy, although by the end my bump was a bit too big so they would slip down!

Ds had a bad morning again. Up at 5 am Hmm it was very bright this morning though and the towel doesn't cover most the window so I'm putting it down to that. I have ordered him one of them blackout blinds though and am hoping it comes through soon. I never fall asleep during the day but yesterday I fell fast asleep on the sofa when ds was sleeping, and today I was in the car (not driving!) and went spark out for 45 mins Blush

Biscuit please is very good manners Cupcake. And he obviously has his priorities- biscuits, ipad and chocolate Grin

I have been up since half 6 with DS. I have cleaned the kitchen, had the shopping delivered and it's put away. I have done a load of washing and dried it, cleaned up cat sick and tidied the sitting room. DS has been fascinated by it all- watching from his baby chair. DH is still in bed!
