DH and I took DS for a walk today, wandered around the Farmers and Bric a Brac market and had lunch in an Italien restaurant - where we have not been for a year but we love it. This is how little we eat out now- the bill came and it was £55 for two of us- two starters, two main courses, two cappucinos, a pint of stella for him, a diet coke for me and two glasses of white wine. It sounds reasonable now but I was really shocked at the time. DH reckons we have just got out of the habit of eating out. It was lovely Smile We ate so much we had to have a sleep when we got home. Fortunately DS was ready for a sleep too.

Tori- lots of good luck tomorrow. You could be holding your baby this time tomorrow night Smile Try not to worry about it.

Cupcake - sounds like your dad is not worth bothering with- he will keep letting you down from the sound of it. Hope DS is better soon. How is your headache? You do need to get it checked out again.

We have seen the bats flitting around tonight- they are so quick you could miss them

Cupcake92 · 16/05/2015 20:40

Gosh Tori I bet that was hard to go through Flowers I'm glad u have a lovely stepdad tho :) my grandad has always been my father figure and he's just brilliant. I'm happy with that tho. And my mom is amazing so it doesn't bother me I may not see my dad now :)
DS hasn't been sick again since this morning but the D side of things are still going on. He's not eaten a lot bless him but I don't expect he will if he's feeling poorly.
Will get him some McDonald's chips tomorrow see if that will make him better :)
Good luck for tomorrow Tori! I'm sure It'll all go well :) soon have ur baby to cuddle!!
Sounds strange but try to enjoy the labour process if u get to go through it :)

I've got my gender scan In the morning!!!!! :) :) blue or pink? Ladies take ur guess!! :)
I'm guessing blue! :D

Never went Ducky. He never sent me the address. So I'm done with it now tbh, just don't see the point if he's not even trying.
And no DS isn't better :( his tummy is still funny bless him and he's hardly eaten.
How are u Ducky and how's ur DS now?

Ducky23 · 16/05/2015 17:22

Hope it went well cupcake and hope ds is feeling better

Forgot to mention, DS is also ill as well. He's got bad D&V. And I mean very bad! Especially the D bit! He's been up since 7:30am and he's had his nappy changed about 3 times. And as I type this it looks like he's needing it done again! :(

Cupcake92 · 16/05/2015 07:24

Thanks Lulu if it's still going on on Monday I'm gonna try and get a doctors appt on the day. I think codeine would definitely help more than paracetamol. And I don't think my neck ache was linked to the headache my neck is fine this morning. And I don't feel ill at all it's just the headache that's bothering me. It starts to fade then comes back again. I've asked DS's dad to have DS for a bit this afternoon and he's said yes so I'll have the afternoon to relax and see if that helps :)

Hope everyone else is okay :)

Oh and my pelvis was so clicky last night!

lillamyy1 · 15/05/2015 21:10

Cupcake, headaches are horrible Flowers Does the neck ache feel like it's connected to the headache? Do you feel ill in any other way?
I've heard of people being prescribed codeine when pregnant and I took paracetamol and codeine tablets when I got headaches when I was pregnant - nothing else worked.
Can your mum or a friend come and help out at all?
I hope you feel better soon Flowers

Cupcake92 · 15/05/2015 16:23

We'll see what happens tomorrow. It all depends if he contacts me to give me the address.

I am still not feeling better at all :( I rele don't know what to do because I've still got a headache and my neck is aching today. MW just said drink more but I'm drinking as much as I can :( I can't cope with these headaches I have a nearly 2 year old to look after and work and all the housework and today I've done nothing as I feel so crap :(

lillamyy1 · 14/05/2015 23:18

Ducky, I second what Bears and Cupcake said - I'm sure he wasn't aware of it and in all likelihood passed away in his sleep. I know how hard it is losing a pet, especially a dog or cat because they're like a family member but you know you gave him a good life and I'm sure he was a very happy dog right up to the end Flowers
Oh dear Cupcake, sorry to hear DS was bad at the restaurant but glad he calmed down later. I forgot to say before, I had a similar experience with my dad. My parents weren't together when I was born and I never really knew him but ended up finding him and we were in touch via letter and email for about 8 or 9 years then met up a few times. He wanted to be quite a big part of my life but I didn't feel comfortable with it really and we have nothing in common and tbh it's just too late! I don't think you can build a father-child relationship after 20-odd years! We're still in touch via email a bit but I did have to explain in the end how I felt and it was hard but it's ok. I felt guilty at first for not wanting to spend time with him etc but my friend (who had a v similar situation with her dad) said "Why should you put yourself out and make an effort to see him when you don't want to just to alleviate his guilt for not being around when you were a child?" And it's so true. You're not obliged to have anything to do with him if you don't want to!

LuluJakey1 · 14/05/2015 23:05

Lill, I have let DS sleep in our bed a couple of times when he has been unsettled- if he has woken up early and then DH goes to work and me and Ds have a cuddly snooze together.

I put a pillow on the edge on DH's side so it stops him if he rolls. But he just likes to be cuddled in Smile

If he doesn't fall asleep though, now he will grab my hair or ears or my boobs and hold on. Hmm

Bearsinmotion · 14/05/2015 21:44

Oh Ducky :(. There really is nothing to feel guilty about, he probably didn't know anything about it.

Cupcake92 · 14/05/2015 21:39

Lill I co slept with DS a lot and it helped so so much with sleep. And helped relax him too. As long as ur taking all the necessary precautions it should be fine :)

Ducky no I've never met him before. I doubt I'll see him again anyway after Saturday. May sound harsh but I'm just not rele that bothered. He hasn't been there for almost 23 years so what difference will it make now? I can take care of myself now.
And Ducky please don't beat urself up about ur doggy. U did do everything u could, u took him to the vets as soon as he was ill and got him treatment. U did all u could and he would have known how loved he was. Flowers

DS has been so bad today :( got him from his dad's and decided to take him out for tea and it was awful! :( he played up so so much and was trying to get out his high chair then running off round the restaurant. I'm in a lot of achy pain atm with my pelvis and especially my lower back so picking him up whilst he's having a tantrum was exhausting :( I nearly cried in the restaurant it was that bad! So I asked them to box my pizza up and get me the bill and I had to leave. I don't get why he was so naughty!
I had to discipline him when we got home and then he's been good as gold since and been like himself again :) hugs, kisses and giggles. So I've no idea what came over him!
I'm deffo ready for bed now.

Ducky23 · 14/05/2015 20:42

Cupcake, have you met your dad before? Mine left when I was 3, he randomly tried to add me on fb when I was 21 Blush no message or anything, just tried to add me. Hope it goes well.

Ds sounds like he had a good time lulu Smile

Glad ds is sleeping better for you lil Smile is the feeding going ok now? I wonder why your mw & HV said no co sleeping, they all seem to contradict each other. Ds is still a bit snuffly, I'm hoping it will go soon.

I'm still feeling down. The guilt is eating me up. I can't help but feel that there was something I could of done, even if it was just to get to him a few minutes before so he knew I was with him Sad

Bearsinmotion · 14/05/2015 20:13

Co sleeping should be fine if you follow the guidelines lill. DS goes to bed about 8 when DD does, sleeps through until about 2, then again till about 6, then I usually sneak him in with me. He is so cuddly!

lillamyy1 · 14/05/2015 17:57

*same ward I was on, I mean Smile

lillamyy1 · 14/05/2015 17:56

I hope you feel better today cupcake Flowers
And you, Ducky Flowers How's DS?
Hi Steph! Nice to hear from you Smile Wow, 4 months seems quite early to go back to work, but I'm sure DS will be fine and will enjoy meeting new people Grin
My DS slept for about 4 hours straight last night, then was awake for a feed, nappy change and an excited natter between 3:20 and 5ish then slept until 7, then asleep again until 11:30am!!! I brought him into bed with me when he was over excited and he nodded back off! It makes a world of difference although I know all the hvs and mws say don't have them in bed, I put him up next to my pillow so he's too high for me to roll over onto or to get the duvet over his face, and it's so nice sleeping close to him and makes him comforted and secure.
Tori, what a lovely birthday present Smile Did they say which way baby is lying now? Where are you being induced? I was born at Leicester General Grin Though if it's nuh city you'll be on the sane ward as me!

LuluJakey1 · 14/05/2015 07:28

Tori- nice to share a birthday but a 3 day birth (if you start on Saturday) sounds a long time!!!!! If you start at 11.55 on Sunday night and he arrives at 12.01am on Tuesday morning that would not be as bad Smile

Lovely birthday present, a snuffly little baby to cuddle.

Cupcake92 · 14/05/2015 07:21

Oh bless Lulu. It's hard to leave them with someone else. But in a way it's such a good thing that he was happy :) hopefully ull have no problems in the future with him going to nursery etc. he'll probably like it :)

Tori that's exactly what happened with me and my DS Grin induced Sunday but he got here on the Tuesday at 9:26am Grin so it's very possible for u 2 to share ur bday! :)

Wow Siarie! That's rele for ur DD! Especially that young! :) I hope u manage to get lots of sleep urself!

Siarie · 14/05/2015 03:02

It's 3 and I have to say, DD just slept for seven hours straight! She's 5 weeks old today Grin.

Tori is my birthday Tuesday too! I hope you have a better induction process than me, take lots of snacks it could be a while.

Ducky- that is awful. Your poor dog! So sorry. It must have been an awful shock

Tori- so this time next week you will have a 3 or 4 day old! Congratulations and I hope it is a short and painless birth Hmm and you soon have your lovely baby to cuddle

I went to a baby and child first aid course today and had to leave DS in the creche there. It was the first time I have left him with anyone except DH or MIL . I felt sick and teary. I was only on the next floor up. When I finished and went rushing to get him he looked at me as if I was stopping him having a nice time. I could hear him laughing as I got to the door. The girl was playing peekaboo with him and he was laughing away. He had not missed me one scrap, not for a minute. Sad I ate a bar of Galaxy and a packet of crisps and felt better about it.

Cupcake - sounds like you could have a bit of a weekend!

Cupcake92 · 13/05/2015 20:04

Tori good luck for Sunday ull soon have ur baby in ur arms :)

Hi Steph! I hope the transition to work goes well! :) I'm sure ull miss DS loads but it'll give u a chance to be u again and have a break :)

Ducky I hope ur alright Flowers

I've still got a headache from this morning :(

Don't know if I've mentioned before but my dad left when I was only a few months old and since I was 16 he's been in contact on and off but sent me a message the other day asking to meet me and now I'm going to meet him on Saturday. Hmm not sure what to think tbh, he's got mental issues so his mum and dad, my nan and grandad, will be there too. I've not seen them for 8 years. What a weekend this will be lol

Ducky23 · 13/05/2015 19:07

Thanks everyone. I'm still in shock Sad

Tori hope everything goes well Sunday.are movements ok now?

Hi ladies! I'm back... it has been a long time!

I'm sorry for your dog Ducky Flowers
And FX for your induction Sunday Tori, everything will be okay and you'll soon meet your DC!! Grin
My DS was like yours Lillamyy, the feeds last really long.... Finally he found his thumb and now he is able to calm himself, and that helps him to sleep a whole night!

I stopped BF a few days ago, as I should be back to work in 2 weeks. DS is now 3.5 months and likes his new formula. Next week, he'll begin the integration into the kindergarten... It is a bit strange for me.... DS looks so small and I was with him 24/7 and now, I'll see him only a fwe hours a day, when I go back home... Confused But on the other side, I'm very happy to go back to work and see my colleagues again.
